"Gen was killed."

"I see... a true shame."

"It was Uzumaki Naruto that did it."

"... What?" Tsukasa asked when he recieved the report that Gen had been killed on his mission to investigate the village to see if Senku had been there. What Tsukasa was NOT expecting was to hear an absolutely terrifying name like that being thrown around so casually like that.

His right hand made dropped his spear in shock.

Hyoga heard that name, and was overcome.

"Uzumaki Naruto... Tsukasa... we lost. If THAT man has been revived, then we lost... even with an army 10 times the size of what we have now, we lose." Hyoga had nothing but the utmost respect for the man.

The man took out Japan's most private, secret, elite task force of assassins by himself, defeated entire Yakuza gangs with no help, and was compared to an army all on his own. Tsukasa could take down a small army of untrained people without weapons, but Naruto was a man who could take down a small army of trained men with weapons.

In this stone world, Naruto was the victory condition.

Whatever side he sided with, was the winning side and there was no two ways about it.

You do not fight Naruto and win, and what was more was you did not fight Naruto with the intention of stealing something from him and live. If Naruto had conquered the village that Senku was residing in, possibly, then that was game over for them. If they tried to make an attempt on the village, then they would be trying to steal from Naruto, which would be a death sentence for every person on their side.

Tsukasa placed his hand on his mouth.

"... Maybe hope isn't lost... Naruto is apparently a... reasonable person. If you show you aren't a threat to him, his ideals, or his people... then he is willing to listen to you, and negotiate." Tsukasa had only ever heard of Naruto by rumors, but he had heard some very detailed rumors about the man. It was said by some of his previous managers that they wanted to get the two of them in a cage match.

Other managers were against the idea.

"At the moment, there are only about... 30 of us who can really fight. To win against Naruto, we would need... close to 1,000 trained men."

"We won't fight him, we will negotiate with him. If Naruto is the same man from the rumors, then he hasn't accepted Senku as one of his people... and he wouldn't be all for Senku's plans for reviving all 7 billion humans either." Tsukasa only had rumors to go on, but they were rumors from trusted sources.

The small chance of hope was better than just losing all hope.

By the time they could get an army of 1,000 men, no doubt Senku would develop guns and other scientific weapons and arm the entire village with them. It would take them close to 3 years or more to get their numbers up to 1,000 men, and it would take another few years to get them all trained to the level that was needed to take down Naruto. They also didn't have a means to support 1,000 men long term either at their current level of civilization, so it would just be a slow death due to starvation and disease for them.

They had no chance in a fight.

The balance of power was just too rigged in favor of one side.

"Are you sure about that?" Hyoga asked Tsukasa.

"... I am, I am sure that if Naruto is the man from the rumors... he has already solidified himself as the leader of that village, and a leader protects their own."

-With Naruto-

"Naruto?"

"Just... let me listen for a little bit longer." Naruto had a smile on his face as he listened to the small heartbeat that was inside of Kohaku's belly. He could hear it just underneath the sound of her own beating heart. He had his hand on her thigh, and his arm around her lower back as he gently rested his head on her stomach, putting no real pressure on her body at all.

It was late at night.

Kohaku placed her hand on his head and ran her fingers through his hair.

"You need a trim."

"Oh yeah, and who is going to trim it."

"I can."

"I think Ruri would be a better fit for this job... this... but this though... this makes working all day worth it." Naruto enjoyed the heartbeat of his wife and his unborn child very much. Near the beginning of the new year, Kohaku would give birth to his child. "Kohaku, I love you so much." Naruto felt his affection overflowing.

Kohaku was shocked for a moment at his confession, before she smiled and just continued to run her fingers through his hair.

"You know... Yeah, I love you too. As scary as it is being pregnant, at least I know this child will have a good father. Lucky for me, I have my mother's great birthing hips." Kohaku sent him a thumbs up. Kohaku felt a large amount of affection for Naruto as well, and considering they were married and had sex, it was just a bond that wasn't so easy to mistake for simple friendship. "I'm thankful for meeting you... did you have to kill that Gen guy?" Kohaku asked Naruto.

He took his head off of her.

He smiled, before frowning.

"Absolutely, I know his type, and I know his reputation. Gen was the kind of guy who allied himself with those who he believed he had the most to gain from, and his sense of loyalty is to whoever he benefits most from. He lives for self-interest."

"So does Senku." Kohaku brought up.

Naruto shook his head.

"Senku loves science, but he sees it as a tool for the betterment of humanity. For him, science is his one great love, but it also serves a purpose of making the lives of everyone around him better. Senku, but his nature... serves others. He isn't like Gen... though he has a bit of a trash personality." Naruto deadpanned in agreement. He had a multitude of reasons for killing Gen, but the biggest reason was very simple.

Gen was not one of them, and he had no intention of ever truly becoming one of them, because his loyalty was with his own self-interest.

Even Magma, for all his flaws, wanted what was best for the village in the end, he just believed that he had been what was best for the village. It was why Naruto had given Magma a second chance, because as much of a trash person as he was, at his heart he still cared about the village and most of it's people.

"I still don't understand science, but it does seem kind of amazing."

"Science is amazing, but for as amazing as it is... science breeds laziness, and laziness breeds unhappiness... unhappiness breeds discontent, and discontent breeds conflict." Naruto had seen in.

When you make the lives of people too easy, then they became lazy by nature. It was just a fact, there were people who were naturally hard workers, but there were more lazy people by nature than hard workers. When people were lazy, it allowed them to think about negative things way too much and made them unhappy. Unhappy people by their nature would cause everyone around them to be discontent, and unhappy people also looked for reasons why they were unhappy.

In the end, too much science made conflict.

"I don't get it?" Kohaku didn't quite understand.

"Lazy people look for reasons to be unhappy. Hard work and doing something is what fulfills people. Making something, raising something, seeing your work flourish... that is what brings genuine fulfillment. A father bringing happiness to his family, a mother raising her child, a teenager earning the pride of his parents... the stuff that makes you the happiest isn't science... it is much more simple." Naruto placed his hand back on Kohaku.

"Simple... yeah... I think I get it." Kohaku could understand that.

Naruto smiled.

"I'm not against science, but I am wary of it bringing out the worst in people. I want this village, and it's people, to live fulfilling lives. I want to increase their ability to survive, and I want them to be happy as well. Science brings false happiness when you depend too much on it." Naruto just didn't want that false happiness for his people.

Because they were his people now, he was their leader. He had experience, and he had seen the core of what a human was for himself. He knew how easy it was to make a good person bad, and he had no illusions about him that most of the people of the world were worth saving. Senku was a fool, a genius, but still a fool.

If he revived everyone, then people would kill themselves and each other in record numbers.

Those who were too reliant on easy lives would refuse to even live a harsh life, and end their own lives. Then there would be huge disputes other land and resources again, and people would wage wars that would end in massive bloodshed. The modern world had been barely held back from huge conflict by the fact that there were weapons of war so destructive people were hesitant to start conflict.

It was sad but true.

-With Tsukasa-

"It's sad but true, we can't wage any war on them. Negotiations and peaceful talk are the only way we can stop Senku. Naruto is a a human version of a nuke... at most, I could hold him off for a few minutes." Tsukasa wasn't a fan of the idea that he couldn't brute force his way through this problem.

His Kingdom of Might was just not strong enough to fight against a monster like that and win, so they would have to bow their heads and be respectful.

"Hah! There are over 30 of us, we could take him on, he's only one man!"

"If you wish to try it, you may... but you will die. Naruto was feared in the underworld, to the point if he wanted to walk into yakuza headquarters and slap their boss, nobody would even try to stop him... Naruto is inhuman in his strength... Tsukasa here is the Strongest Primate High Schooler... but only because nobody considers Naruto human... they don't consider him a primate, they think of him as a demon." Hyoga had heard rumors, but he heard those rumors from yakuza themselves and other people who had witnessed Naruto unleashing his unholy rage on those who crossed him too far.

There was a sense of fear in the air.

"So... he's going to kill us all."

"No, he won't do that... if we leave him alone, then he will leave us alone as well. All we want is Senku dead, right now he is the only man who can make guns... he wants to bring back all of humanity."

-With Naruto-

"All of that aside... have you thought of a name?"

"Yes, I have! If it is a boy, I want his name to be Bort, and if she is a girl, I want her name to be Opal." Kohaku knew exactly what she wanted.

Naruto noticed a trend of people in the village being named after minerals, gemstones, and other materials.

He nodded.

"I approve of that."

There was no reason to break tradition after all.
