Trina took one last look in the mirror, wanting to make sure that she looked her best. She was dressed in the white lace shift dress she had gotten from her mother's house. She had her hair braided back away from her face with a white ribbon intertwined through it. Joss had somehow gotten a bouquet of white lilies to carry with her as well. The white high heels went perfectly and her makeup was immaculate. She was the very image of a blushing bride, ready to meet her groom.

"Okay, I have my keys and my purse and your bags are in the car," Joss stood behind her, dressed in a green formal gown that she had worn to the nurse's ball. Her blond hair was also pulled back in a french braid that looked similar to Trina's. "Are you ready to go get married?"

"As ready as I'm ever going to be, I guess," Trina smiled, pushing back against the nervous butterflies battling it out in the pit of her stomach. "Do you think Spencer's already there?"

"Yes, and he's probably just as nervous as you are," Joss smiled. "Come on. Let's go. We don't want to be late on the biggest day of your life!"

Trina's smile was wide and happy and her eyes sparkled with joy. "I am so happy you're going to be standing with me, Joss. I know that we haven't been as close these past few months, but you being at my wedding means the world to me."

Joss felt tears in her eyes as she wrapped her arms around her friend in a warm hug. "There is nowhere else I'd rather be today. I still think Spencer isn't good enough for you, but you love him and that's what matters. Just know that I'm here for you always. Friends forever."

"Friends forever," Trina smiled, wiping away her tears. "God, I need to stop crying before I ruin my makeup."

Joss just laughed. "Come on. The boys are waiting."

…..

Spencer and Cameron were standing at the entrance of City Hall waiting for Trina and Joss's arrival. Spencer shifted from one foot to the other, trying to work off the nervous energy that filled him. He wondered if Trina was as anxious as he was.

"Hey man, calm down. It's only Trina. You're only getting married," Cam chuckled.

"Yes, that's right. It is Trina. The girl I've been in love with for nearly two years now. The girl of my dreams. Yeah, it's only Trina and we're only pledging our lives together until death do us part. No big deal," Spencer ranted, beginning to pace.

"Calm down before you wear out your shoes and they look rather too expensive to wear down so fast," Cameron joked. "Relax."

"Where are they? What if Joss kidnapped her? She thinks I'm not good enough for Trina, remember? What if she kidnapped Trina so we don't get married? Maybe I should call the police? Maybe…."

"Not sticking up for Joss, but she wouldn't do that, man. She knows how Trina feels about you. Besides, she went through the trouble of begging me for a truce so we wouldn't ruin this day for you guys. She wouldn't have done that if she was planning to put a stop to it, right?"

Spencer sighed and rubbed the back of his neck. "Right. You're right. I'm being silly."

"Darn right you are. Now calm down. Seeing you worry will make Trina worry and you don't want that. This is supposed to be a happy day."

Spencer just nodded then his eyes lit up at the sight of Joss and Trina walking in their direction. Trina looked absolutely perfect of course.

"Trina," Spencer went to her, not able to take being away from his bride for another second. "You look beautiful. As always. You're always beautiful."

Trina blushed. "You look handsome as well in your suit and tie. Shall we go get this done? You have the license, right?"

"Diane dropped it off this morning with a happy congratulations and good luck," Spencer chuckled.

"Good. Let's go get married," Trina smiled, her eyes sparkling with happiness. She was looking forward to this. Something good was finally going to happen for her. She couldn't wait. She wished that Ava could be there, but just having Joss and Cam there was enough for now.

…..

The small group entered the building and headed for the office that was marked justice of the peace. They didn't see Portia enter the building right after them. She was there to file some paperwork and hadn't been expecting to see her daughter all dressed in white with Spencer Cassadine, also well dressed with Cam and Joss following behind head for the office of the justice of the peace.

Portia frowned, getting a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach. She shouldn't follow them. Trina was already angry with her enough, but if this was what it looked like, she just couldn't let it go. Of course, it could be Joss and Cam, but hadn't those two broken up? No, she couldn't just stand by and allow her daughter to seemingly make the biggest mistake of her life! She had to do something, so she silently followed the foursome, hoping against hope that she was wrong.

…..

It didn't take long for everyone to get into position. Cameron stood behind Spencer and Joss behind Trina. Trina and Spencer stood opposite each other holding hands, staring into each other's eyes, each sure that this was what they wanted to do. There was no doubt about it in either of their minds.

"We are gathered here today to join two people, Trina Robinson and Spencer Cassadine in the state of matrimony. Before we start, is there anyone here that have reasons why these two should not be married? Speak now or forever hold your peace."

"I do!"

The small group looked towards the entrance to see Portia there, looking shocked and angry.

"Great. She would have to come to ruin this," Trina sighed, feeling her own anger rise. What was her mother doing here? How did she find out? Must she show up and ruin what should be the happiest day of her life?

"Trina, what are you doing? How can you let him talk you into this?" Portia went to her daughter and pulled her away from Spencer, who looked at a loss on what to do. He took a step forward, but Trina shook her head.

"I'll handle this. Just give me a moment," Trina motioned for him to stay and then turned to her mother. "What are you doing here?"

"I had some papers to file and imagine my surprise to find my daughter entering the justice of the peace office! With him! I know that he must have talked you into this! Only a spoiled, privileged…"

"It was my idea! So you can stop blaming Spencer for something that I want to do!"

"What?"

"I want this, mom. Spencer is not forcing me into anything, so you will kindly leave! I don't want you here!"

"Trina, I don't understand! You've only just turned twenty! You're far too young to get married, you're only a sophomore in college for goodness sake! What happened to seeing the world and just being young and carefree?"

"I can still do all of that with Spencer by my side. That doesn't need to change! And it's not for you to understand! I love Spencer and he loves me and we've both had enough of parents who lie to us so we're making our own family. A family that doesn't lie! Sadly you can't be a part of that right now, so leave!"

Portia's eyes were full of hurt. She knew that her daughter was angry with her and it'll be a while before forgiveness was even on the table, but her words still hurt. "I just worry about you, Trina. Like it or not, you're still my daughter. I worry about you and your choices and right now...I can't say that I approve of your choice here."

I don't care if you approve or not, mom. It's not up for your approval. I am no longer a little girl! I am a full adult now and so is Spencer! Getting married is what we want to do and we're doing it, whether you like it or not."

"But Trina! This is so not what I wanted for you, especially when it comes to your wedding! You deserve…"

"It's not about what you want, mom! It's about what I want and right now, I want this! A simple ceremony with my man and my friends and that's it. At least this way, I won't have to worry about who to ask to walk me down the aisle, right? That would have been another problem, thanks to you," Trina folded her arms, giving her mother a pointed look.

Portia winced as if she had been hit and took a step back. "Ok. Alright. I'm not wanted here, I get it. But you are still making a big mistake."

"I really don't think that I am. And anyway, it's my mistake to make. Will you please leave now? I am so far from being ready to even talk to you. I need space and time and this is not giving it to me."

Portia simply nodded and began to back away with tears in her eyes. She couldn't believe just how bad things were between her and Trina. They always had a close relationship, but now all of that seemed to be gone thanks to her twenty-year lie. Just like her marriage to Curtis was now all but nonexistent. "Okay, fine. I'm going. I just...I just wanted the best for you Trina. I wanted a big ceremony for you with a man that deserves you. Not...not this."

"Spencer does deserve me, mom. No matter what you may think. You don't know him. Not like I do. Maybe someday you will though if you just stop trying to rush me to forgive you."

Portia simply nodded, then turned around and walked out without saying another word, knowing that there was nothing she could say to change Trina's mind about marrying that boy.

Breathing a sigh of relief, Trina turned around to face her friends and the justice of the peace. "I'm sorry about that. Now, where were we?"

"Are you ok?" Spencer asked, knowing how hard it was for Trina to be so angry with her mother and having to deal with it on what should be one of the happiest days of her life.

"I'm fine. I was going to have to deal with her about this sooner or later. Now it's out of the way, I can just concentrate on us for the rest of the day," Trina gave a reassuring smile.

"Trina, I promise. Someday I will give you that big ceremony with all of your family there. This isn't it."

Trina just smiled warmly, her love for Spencer shining in her eyes. She knew that he wanted to give her more than this. Of course, he did and it was one of the reasons that she loved him. "Even if you didn't get to, that's fine. This is perfect. It has all the people that I trust and love here and that's perfect for me, Spencer. I don't need a big ceremony."

"But if you want to throw one sometime in the future, she won't object," Joss laughed, wanting to lighten the mood some.

Spencer and Trina both rolled their eyes at Joss then turned back to the justice.

"We're ready to continue please," Trina nodded.

The justice cleared her throat and then continued on. "Do you Spencer, take Trina Robinson to be your lawfully wedded wife? To have and to hold, in sickness and in health, through good times and bad until death do you part?"

Spencer smiled and gave her hand a gentle squeeze. "I do."

"Do you, Trina, take Spencer Cassadine, as your lawfully wedded husband? To have and to hold, through sickness and in health, through good time and bad, until death do you part?"

"I do."

"Okay, now for the exchange of rings. Do either of you have any personal vows you'd like to say during the exchange?"

"I do," Spencer took the offered ring from Cameron and slid it onto Trina's finger. "Trina, what can I say to you that would properly convey just how much and how deeply I love you? I don't think there are enough words to do so, really. I've never felt this strongly...this purely about anyone. When we first met, you were just this cute, spirited girl from the gallery that I wanted to get to know better. From the start, your beautiful spirit had captured my heart and taught me that it was better to be myself instead of the Cassadine prince that everyone expected me to be. You brought me out of my shell and infused my world with so much light and love. I promise you now, as I put this ring on your finger, that I am going to continue to strive to be the man that you deserve. I am going to love you forever and help build you a family that you can be proud of."

Tears were spilling from Trina's eyes as she took the ring from Joss and slid it onto Spencer's finger. "Spencer, what can I say about you? You are the most frustrating, annoying, spoiled, privileged boy I had ever met. You are also the most interesting, caring, loving, and selfless boy I've ever met too. When we met, you told me that your name was Victor and I had found you cute and interesting, but I really began falling for you when I learned who you really were and when you began opening up to me. I saw under all that charade of arrogance and entitlement and found a lonely young man that just wanted love and friendship and the more time we spent together, the more and more I saw that young man emerge until I was fully and completely in love. Thank you for showing me the Spencer beneath the prince. For trusting me enough to show me all that you are. I feel truly honored, special, and above all else. Loved. I mean...when you look at me...I feel like the best thing in the world and no one has ever made me feel like that before. But you have. I promise you, I am going to make it so you will never regret opening up and letting me behind that wall. I love you Spencer and I am going to help build you a family that you can be proud of."

"By joining hands, you are consenting to be bound together as husband and wife. You are promising to honor, love and support each other for the rest of your lives. By the authority vested in me by the laws of the state of New York, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride!"

Spencer didn't waste any time in claiming Sprina's lips in a lingering deep kiss. Trina returned the kiss, stepping into Spencer's arms and wrapping her arms around his neck. After a minute, they pulled apart, fully smiling into each other's eyes.

"I and the two witnesses wish you all the luck and love in the world. May your life together be a happy one. I for one am happy and honored to now introduce Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Cassadine to the world!"

Spencer's smile was wide and his voice was full of joy. "We did it!"

Trina just giggled and then laughed as Spencer lifted her up and twirled her around in the air.
