The Gathering of the Seven: Takarada Training.
Chapter Nine: The Siege of Takarada Town.
TRIGGER WARNING: Suicide and past transphobia in the first section of this chapter.
Takarada Town.
It was daybreak, and all of Takarada Town was silent, aside from the hushed whispers of parents trying to hide their young children, and the sounds of kaiju taking positions on the barrier. The sun barely shined through the cloudy skies, and an eerie mist covered the forest completely, which made it hard to see what was within the forest. The foundry itself was up and running, the molten metal giving it a faint orange glow that almost seemed like the fire of a long dead monster hiding within the town. William walked behind the townsfolk, watching as each stared out from the holes in the barrier, holding onto their weapons as they prepared for the attack. He then noticed Jun, the young Caesar looking very downbeat, and walked over to him, catching his attention. "You alright lad?" Jun looked up at William, his red eyes filled with shame as he then bowed his head down.
"I'm sorry William, I was disrespectful to you all…. I was ignorant and stupid…. I thought I could take Eli on my own… but he would've killed me if he wanted to…" Jun sighed, and William bent down, raising the young Caesar's head up.
"I accept your apology lad. I'm sorry for yellin' at ya. I understand yer scared, but all of you have us now. You won't be fightin' alone, and you will be able to do this. Everything will be alright in the end, okay?" Jun looked up at William, and nodded, causing the latter to smile as he stood up, and watch Jun turn around, holding his spear with a renewed vigor, albeit with a dash of fear still present within. William continued his walk, keeping his sword out of its sheath, finally noticing the others standing alongside Zheng, and walking up to them. They were standing near the middle of the barrier facing the forest, itself right at a clearing where Eli had last run off into, with Ryu noticing William first. Rami was perched on top of the barrier, wearing his full outfit, his yellow eyes glancing deep within the mist, while Leo perched on top of the barrier too, with his wings flared out, the moth tapping his small blade from time to time, ready to draw it out if he needed to. Akira kept his hand on his tachi blade, his broadsword strapped to his back and his wakizashi on the other side of his waist, his stoic stare kept fully on the forest and whatever lay within. Ryu ran over to William, holding his axe out, a look of relief present on his face. "You okay Ryu?"
"I am, I'm just glad you're here to help us" Ryu answered, following the older kaiju as he joined Zheng and the others. The Caesar held a very ornate spear in his hands, clutching it tightly as he walked up to the barrier, staring out from the holes. "Everyone's nervous though… So am I…"
"I know boy…. I know…" William reassured Ryu, looking at him as he grasped his shoulders. "Listen to me…. you can't freeze up this time… there are a lot of kaiju relyin' on us, and we cannot let them down, do you understand?"
"I know William…. I won't do it this time…. Have you ever done that before? Froze up in combat?" Ryu watched William remove his hands from his shoulders, breathe in for a moment, and then nod gently. "What happened?"
"…. I lost something important to me, and in that moment…. I just froze up… I would've dead if it weren't for my ally snapping me out of it… But I don't think that'll happen to you again." Ryu smiled briefly, before looking at Akira, seeing the Gojirasaur keeping his unbroken stare at the forest. "Hazuki… you see anything?"
"No," Akira answered, briefly looking at Ryu. "It's hard to see any movement in there…... if they are attacking soon, they might think they have the advantage, since we can't see them all that well."
"You mean, you can't see them all that well," Rami said, laughing a bit as Akira looked up at him. "Me on the other hand? There's a reason my kind were such excellent hunters in the past, but I can easily tell you they aren't here yet."
"That alone might be cause for concern," Leo observed, rubbing his chin, "Eli might have said he was attacking in the morning, but he could very well be trying to make the town paranoid. I would not discount any possibility if I were any of you."
"I know Leo," Zheng replied, sighing deeply, "I just hope that today, this all ends, and we can be free from him. Before anything else, I just want to thank you all for helping everyone learn how to defend themselves from danger… I was worried that we would not get any soldiers to defend us, but here you are, like a gift from Sun Wukong himself…"
"We're glad to help, Zheng," William replied, tapping his fellow soldier on the shoulder. "Forgot if I asked, but why did ya leave the army anyway?" This particular question caught the others off guard for a moment, with Ryu staring up at Zheng with a confused look. "No disrespect, but I heard about it."
"Ah. Well, I started to feel like I was needed elsewhere, although it was also because I wasn't able to fight like how I used to," Zheng answered solemnly, William staring at him in sympathy. "Fact of the matter is that a lot of us are getting older, and with that, we can't fight like we used to, so we become more liabilities on the battlefield than anything. I remember once I could use the power of the sun to take on many at once, but now, its blessed light has dimmed for me. This right here, might be my last battle… so I hope that even if I fall in battle, we will be free…." With that, William smiled at his fellow warrior, and looked at the rest of the group once more, noticing both Akira and Ryu looking at the old Caesar, as if his words seemed to affect them the most.
As the morning moved on, the clouds stayed over the town, and the mist hung over the forest still, hiding whatever lay within. Rami glanced around, and then he spotted something within the forest, leaning his head forward to see it better. Suddenly, a kaiju screamed as several bandits tore out from the forest, unable to stop themselves in time as they impaled themselves on the spikes. "Puta Madre, they're here!" The townsfolk immediately took their positions behind the barrier, with Leo and Rami leaping off of the barrier and joining Zheng and the others.
"Hold yer positions!" William bellowed, watching as townsfolk prepared their weapons and a few more bandits impaled themselves on the barrier spikes, "They're comin' now and they're comin' fast!" As William finished shouting, Akira looked out from one of the holes in the barrier, watching as a tall figure emerged from the misty forest, followed by a numerous amount of other kaiju. Eli stared around at the bandits who had been unfortunate enough to run onto the spikes, his red eyes glancing up at the barrier, silently raising his hand up to make sure the rest of the bandits did not charge immediately. He then walked up slowly, staring at the barrier before he laughed deeply, followed by the rest of the bandits, with the sole exception of a female Zilla, who seemed nervous compared to the others.
"And here was I, thinking they would've left you already," Eli said, placing his hands at his sides as Akira's group looked at him, noticing the massive sword strapped onto his back. "Instead, you've made this? Zheng, I have to say you are truly desperate if you even think for a minute that this will keep me out. Sure, you've killed a few of my men, but you got lucky there. Now, why don't you let the rest of us in, and just maybe I will spare your town in return." It was at this moment that Akira climbed up on top of the wall, and stared down at the group, his fierce eyes glaring at them.
"Eli," Akira spoke, his voice cold and calm. "I offer this to you instead. Leave this town, never attack it again, and you will be spared. However, should you attack this town, then your life and the lives of your men will be forfeit. It's your own choice Eli… Unless, your master says otherwise…..." Akira watched Eli, noticing how troubled he seemed to be for a moment, and how he stared back at his men for a moment, as if he was trying to see what they wanted. There was a long silence, and then Eli clutched his head, before staring at the barrier, and then up at Akira, his red eyes growing wider with fury.
"Destroy them." All at once, the bandits charged the wall, and Akira leapt down, preparing his sword as William barked orders to the townsfolk, and watching the top of the wall as the villagers jabbed their spears through the holes in the barrier. Several bandits fell almost immediately, but more climbed over the bodies of their fallen companions, which caused Akira to momentarily glance at William, Ryu, Leo, and Rami, noticing how they were prepared for the oncoming onslaught. Jun was holding his spear, trembling as he breathed in, ready to take his first life, while Zheng closed his eyes, almost meditating as he gripped his weapon, like he was recalling how he fought on a battlefield. As the first bandit made his away over the barrier, Rami flew at them, attacking him as more and more bandits climbed over the barriers, and the rest of the townsfolk charged at them, catching the bandits by surprise with their weapons. Akira and the others joined them, with Akira immediately saving the Gojirasaur youth he had trained with before from a Varan trying to backstab him. The youth saw Akira, and the two fought together, Akira felling several bandits with a few quick slashes from his tachi, and watching as the youth buried his axe into the belly of a Baragon bandit, spilling his organs on the ground. The bandit screamed, allowing the youth to bury his axe in his head, and defend himself from a Frankenstein who had leapt from the top of the wall. Akira ran to the youth, charging up his atomic ray as he shot down a Megalon with it, watching as their napalm bomb misfired and set part of the barrier on fire. Townsfolk backed away from the flames, while Eli watched silently, sending more bandits over the wall. Akira continued to cut down bandits, protecting the youth as he fired off his own atomic ray, blasting back several attackers at once. Elsewhere, Ryu, Jun, and William moved back as they and a group of several townsfolk protected a stable from a group who were approaching it.
"They keep coming!" Jun shouted as he stabbed a bandit in the gut, and pushed her back into the crowd. "What do we do William!?"
"Hold yer ground!" William bellowed, his claymore stained with blood as he chopped an attacking Gigan's arm off. "There's only so many of them! Do not let them overwhelm you boy!" As Jun nodded, Gar ran out, the triceratops tossing several bandits into the air as William tore through several bandits with his claymore, laughing and roaring as he watched them flee the stable, raising his sword up as he led several townsfolk after them. Ryu followed William, using his axe to cut down several bandits at once, and charged through them, coming across another Anguirus bandit, clashing his axe against the enemy's mace. Ryu breathed in, remembering when he had frozen up upon seeing a fellow member of his species as the enemy, and headbutted the other Angurius, before slashing him across the chest with his axe, and watching him fall to the ground. Ryu leapt over William, the two of them fighting together as they cut down more bandits. Zheng himself opened his eyes as several bandits surrounded him, all of them cackling as they aimed their weapons at him. Breathing in, he leapt up with surprising agility as they tried to strike him, and spinning downwards, he decapitated all five of them with one swing, their heads flying off as he finished his swing. He tore through several more bandits, aware of the pain in his joints, but he ignored it, intent on defending his home from the invaders. Leo pulled out his blade, flaring out his wings as he did a flip kick to an attacking Gigan, and then drew a symbol in the air with the blade. A volley of water erupted from the ground, blowing away several bandits at once as Leo blasted it with wing lightning, the green electricity coursing through the bandits as they screamed in pain. As they fell to the ground, Leo put his blade away and leapt at several more bandits, charging up his fists with energy and punching any bandit he could, dodging swings from their weapons and keeping townsfolk safe as he created a gust of wind with his wings, scales flying off as a heat ray from a Baragon reflected back, blowing her up alongside her companions.
"Stand your ground," Leo advised to several townsfolk, pulling out his blade again watching more bandits climb over the wall. "We're thinning their numbers more and more, we can do this." As the bandits reached the other side, Leo flew up and led the townsfolk over to them, catching them by surprise and quickly cutting them down. Rami flew above the battlefield, divebombing a Varan he noticed gliding towards the back of Zheng, cutting her in half with a swipe of his superheated wings, the pieces falling behind the surprised Caesar. Rami landed, crushing the head of the Varan, and gave the elder a thumbs up, before he flew back towards the wall, a quick sweep kick with his talon blades cutting a Gargantua's throat.
"If only you could've been here Helios," Rami thought as he heated his body up again, leaping up and spinning around as he blew away several bandits at once, saving several townsfolk who had been fighting them, and allowing them to get in finishing blows. "Maybe one day…..." As Rami finished his attack, he landed on top of the barrier, and then noticed Eli, the Gargantua standing silently as he watched more and more of his men climb over the barrier, his red eyes glowing fiercely. "What's with him?"
"This is…. I don't understand…..." Eli thought, watching as several of his men fell off of the wall, while Cassandra looked up at him. Through the burning hole in the barrier, Eli could see several townsfolk fall at the hands of his men, yet more and more of his men fall at the hands of the townsfolk and the warriors. "How are they winning? I don't….." Eli suddenly felt a sharp pain run through his head, and he clutched it, nearly collapsing to the ground as Cassandra tried to help him stand up.
"Eli…... don't stand around like the slack jawed fool you are…. eliminate the Ronin now…. and raze the town to the ground…..." Hedorah's voice was loud, deep, and filled with anger, something that tormented Eli as he groaned in pain. He could feel something bubbling underneath his body, an almost primal and ancient feeling, one that he dared not unleash. "You have the power to do all this…. my power…. our power…. now…. use it…."
"Yes…. master…." Eli spat, the word "master" almost feeling like poison on his tongue, his teeth gritting as he stood up, and pulled his massive sword from his back. He turned and looked at Cassandra, looking at her as he ran towards the barrier, leaping over it as he landed right in the middle of Takarada Town, making several turn around to look at him. Eli let out a bellowing roar, catching Akira's attention, the Gojirasaur rushing towards him as Eli charged too, their blades clashing immediately. The Gargantua was stronger than last time, something Akira could feel as he parried a blow, and the two started to get more violent with their swings, with the Gojirasaur making sure to dodge each blow as best he could, while making sure to try and hit Eli. Around them, the battle continued on, with townsfolk and bandits still fighting as they tried to stay out of the way of the two warriors fighting. Eli's swings grew more violent as darkness seeped from his eyes, pushing Akira back to a building as the Gojirasaur dodged out of the way of one violent swing, the blade cutting through the building and partially collapsing it. "Do you really think you can survive against me?!" Akira unsheathed his wakizashi, spinning both blades as he used them to block Eli's blow, causing a small shockwave to flow through the battlefield. "No matter what you do…. you can't stop me! You can't stop my master! YOU CAN DO NOTHING!" Akira growled, and fired out an atomic ray point blank, blowing a hole through Eli's shoulder and armor, allowing him to quickly whip the Gargantua through a building. Eli stood up, darkness seeping from the wound as he roared, and charged again, faster than Akira could react to, as he threw the Gojirasaur into another building. Akira stood up, a bit stunned, and watched as Eli charged towards him, only for Ryu to tackle him to the ground, a look of rage in his eyes.
"You won't touch him!" Ryu swung his axe towards Eli, cutting off one of the horns on his helmet, and burying the axe in his shoulder. "Not while I'm still standing!" Eli grabbed him by the throat, lifting him up before Ryu's eyes started to glow white, his anger fueling him. "Let. Me. GOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Ryu's sonic roar fired point blank, blasting Eli as several bandits who came to help him were blown away by the force of the roar, the Gargantua groaning in pain as his armor started to crack, and his eardrums burst, a high-pitched whining filling his mind. Darkness started to seep out more from his eyes, and quickly, he headbutt Ryu in the snout, silencing the Anguirus, and threw him away, clutching his head as he saw Akira approaching him again. "Get him Hazuki!" Eli rose up, and swung his sword at Akira again, the Gojirasaur countering as they continued their fight.
"No poison this time Eli?" Akira looked at the Gargantua, noticing his expression charge into an angrier one. Their blades were locked as they pushed against each other, several sparks flying out from the clash.
"This time I won't leave it up to chance," Eli growled, pushing close to Akira as he stared at him, "I will remove your head myself!" As he broke the lock Akira had him in, Eli quickly slashed the Gojirasaur in the chest and raised his blade, prepared to strike him down. In the distance, after sinking his talons into one more bandit's chest, Rami turned and saw Eli standing above Akira, leapt up, flying at the Gargantua. Flying full force with his body glowing with magma, he rammed into Eli, knocking the Gargantua's helmet off his head and making him fall forward, to which Akira quickly recovered and dodged.
"Not so tough when fighting multiple kaiju at once, are you?!" Rami screamed, clawing into Eli's back as the Gargantua swung around, trying to reach the Rodan. Heating his wings up, he burned Eli's back with his claws, making the Gargantua scream in pain. As the two fought, Akira readied his sword, and swung, aiming for Eli's neck. The Gargantua suddenly grabbed the blade, his red eyes glowing in a fury as he roared, tossing Rami off his back. He stomped down, breaking Rami's arm, and tossed Akira into the building they were near, running towards him. Rami laid on the ground, weakly looking up, only to see someone else jump over him, heading where the two had gone. He glanced around at the rest of the battle, seeing the townsfolk doing their best to fight the bandits, and more and more of them falling by the minute. He spotted the female Zilla from before, noticing her not taking part in the battle, and instead watching it from a safe distance. "You're his significant other…... aren't you?" Rami then passed out, the pain becoming too intense for him.
"No…. more…..." Eli groaned, clutching his head as Akira stared at him in confusion, the Gojirasaur having recovered from being thrown. "Stop… please…... free…..." The strange darkness was no longer seeping out of his eyes, instead now pouring out as Eli seemingly pleaded with something, before he looked up at Akira, a furious look taking over his features he started stomping towards him, raising his blade up again. And then, in a flash, the blade fell to the ground with a loud clatter, followed by the meaty thump of Eli's whole arm. In front of the Gargantua stood William, his sword pointed outward as he turned around, grinning as Eli finally registered that his arm was gone. "AAARGGGHHHH!" Eli screamed, clutching the stump, black blood pouring out of the wound and sizzling as it hit the ground.
"Not so tough without yer sword arm, are ya?" William chuckled, before his look grew serious, and Akira joined his side. "Any last words before we finish ya?" Eli looked up, a panicked look in his eyes as he started to twitch, something that put both Akira and William on their guards.
"No…. Not today…..." Eli groaned, clutching his stump as he felt a sharp pain in his head, and a strange feeling coming from the pit of his stomach. "… You don't know what you're dealing with…. His power is…. immense… frightening…. It will destroy you…." A voice spoke in his mind, a familiar and deep voice, and he knew…. there would be no coming back from what was going to happen. "WITNESS MY POWER!" All at once, Eli started to change, leaving both Akira and William in stunned silence. His height grew to the point where he now barely towered over the Gorosaurus, with parts of his flesh tearing as muscle poked through, and parts of his armor flew off from the force. His rib cage shot out from his chest, alongside his spinal column, both of them hardening as they formed armor across his chest and back. Similar bone armor sprouted from his kneecaps and elbow of his remaining arm, his hand growing dark claws out of the tips of his fingers. His fangs increased in size as he groaned in pain, and from the dark wound on his shoulder where his arm used to be, black blood squirted out as something began to force its way out of the wound. A strange bone like appendage took the place of where Eli's arm used to be, with a big curved blade resting at the end of it, while dark muscle and other scraps of bone, connected it to the Gargantua's arm. Eli looked down at both Akira and William, black blood leaking from his eyes as he roared, a mixture of fury and agony lining the primal scream.
"What matter of devil have ya become Eli?" William muttered, preparing his sword as the Acolyte ran towards the duo. The both of them leapt up as the Acolyte swung at them with his bladed arm, taking the opportunity to slash at him, only to watch as their strikes did nothing to pierce his armor. The two them backed away as Eli smashed more of the building and burst out of it, sending both Akira and William flying out of it with one swipe. As he stepped out into the town, Eli looked around, seeing many of his men staring at him in terror, alongside townsfolk who had slain many of them. He walked towards Akira and Willaim, the two keeping back as they kept their weapons in a defensive position, before he noticed the body of a dead Gigan, letting some of his black blood drip on the corpse.
"RISE." The Gigan rose up, their broken body starting to charge at several townsfolk who tried to fight it off as more and more of Eli's men started to rise up, several of them attacking the still living bandits, turning them feral as well. He then kept his attention on both Akira and William, the three fighting once again as screams of fear filled the air, alongside roars of the infected. Ryu had gotten up from where Eli had thrown him, and noticing the infected closing in on him, he quickly dispatched them with his axe, yelling at several townsfolk to follow him as he quickly led them to safety.
"Rami," Ryu muttered, seeing the Rodan lying on the ground. His wing was bent at an unusual angle, and he was barely waking up, only noticing the horde of feral kaiju chasing them under the grey sky. "Come on, let's get out of here." He picked up the Rodan, keeping him on his back as Rami looked behind and saw the feral kaiju chasing them, noticing how their eyes had turned black, and the black liquid dripping out of their mouths.
"Que el cielo nos ayude. This is…. this is what Leo saw when they took him wasn't it? What are they really going up against? What kind of being could do something like this?" Rami held onto Ryu, wincing as he felt the pain in his wing.
"Hm. So, not even death will stop you all, will it?" Zheng cut down several of the feral bandits, growling as he kept them away from several fallen townsfolk. He then noticed Jun, the young Caesar standing with the Gojirasaur youth as they protected a Gorosaurus from several of the undead. "Jun!" Zheng cut down the bandits in his path, running over to the younger Caesar, and standing alongside him as more of the bandits surrounded them.
"Zheng…. Will we be okay?" Jun asked, his voice quavering as he stabbed a bandit closest to him.
"We will…..." Zheng said, his voice filled with doubt. "Sun Wukong…... protect us…. Protect my town…. Protect my family…" The three of them continued to protect as many as they could, even as more and more of the bandits became infected.
"Hazuki, listen to me," William growled, watching as Eli grinned in an almost unnatural way, with a wide smile that seemed to tear his cheeks apart. "I don't think either of us can take him down alone…. So, stay by me if you can." Akira nodded as Eli broke into a charge, raising his bladed arm up to strike the two of them. The two dodged the strike, and did a double strike with their blades, sending black blood flying into the air as Eli turned around, the wounds healing almost instantly as he swung again, his blade cutting briefly into William's chest. The Gorosaurus grunted in pain as he clutched his chest, before smelling the blood and breathing in the scent of it, keeping out of the way of Eli's swings as Akira did too. "Yes…. The smell of blood…. The art of battle…." Eli brought his arm down, William blocking it with his sword as Akira finally saw an opening, quickly slashing near the Gargantua's spine, making the mutant groan in pain. "I LOVE IT!" William's eyes suddenly became slitted, and he roared, pushing Eli's blade out of the way as he knocked the Gargantua back and charged at him alongside Akira, the Gorosaurus's berserk swings cutting several feral kaiju into pieces as Eli's eyes widened in shock. Eli roared, and charged through his own men, knocking them aside as he extended his finger claws, swinging them with his blade as he fought both Akira and William, the Gorosaurus laughing like a madman in his berserker state. William continued to laugh as he blocked Eli's blows and slashed into him, making the mutant roar in pain as Akira followed up with a slash from his tachi.
"ENOUGH!" Dark energy suddenly burst out of Eli, blowing both Akira and William away as he advanced towards them, only for Leo to land right in front of him, his antennae glowing as he flared his wings out, his hands glowing with green energy. "YOU... DO YOU REALLY THINK YOU CAN STOP ME?" William and Akira recovered, and ran to help Leo, only for a swarm of feral kaiju to attack them, keeping them away as Leo started to glow with a bright light, and darkness started to surround Eli.
"I will certainly try," Leo growled, grabbing out his blade, extending the blade out fully as it glowed with green mana. "I will banish you back to where you came from demon!" Eli roared, and Leo swung his blade in an arc, gracefully blocking the Gargantua's swings, his eyes glowing bright green as he saw the red aura surrounding the Gargantua, with a smaller grey aura underneath it, and deeper below that, a fierce dark aura. "So cowardly that you use your own followers as a puppet?! I see you!" Leo leapt up, slicing Eli's bladed arm off and blasted him with wing lightning, subduing the Gargantua enough for him to blast him with his eye lasers, and at the same time, enter his mind. A powerful white burst of energy poured over the battlefield, burning the feral kaiju and keeping any kaiju away from both Leo and Eli.
"YOU DARE ENTER MY MIND?" Leo was surrounded by pure darkness as he gazed around in the Gargantua's mind, only then noticing the chained-up figure within the void. "Don't…. don't do this…. He's…... LEAVE NOW!" The figure was Eli, who stared up at Leo with a scared look on his face. "I made a mistake…. Save yourself while you still can…. He's too powerful…. I'LL KILL YOU!" Eli pulled at the chains, his eyes glowing red as Leo blasted him with light, pushing the darkness away from him as Eli screamed in pain. The red glow from his eyes disappeared, and he collapsed on the ground, barely being able to raise his head up as he looked at Leo. "Please… free me from him…"
"I will," Leo answered, preparing another blast of light as he summoned a spell circle, the circle surrounding both. As he raised his hands up, the darkness shot out, wrapping itself around his neck, choking the moth.
You will not take my servant, Leo of Pangea.
The voice was old, ancient, and almost familiar to the moth, who struggled against the darkness as it seemed to consume Eli, and fill his own mind. "I know what you are," Leo spat, struggling against the darkness as he reached for his blade. "You fucking coward…. Hiding behind other kaiju because of how weak you are?! You're no god!" The darkness tightened around his neck, and Leo growled as his fingers barely touched the hilt of his blade. "We will stop you, and your servants!" Leo grabbed the blade, and with a swing, he cut into the darkness with a slash of light, blasting it back and letting him drop down. The darkness roared, and reached out for the moth, overwhelming him as he summoned one more spell circle, and activated it. The Anti-God spoke, and images began to fill Leo's mind, memories he had tried to repress. They were like scattered voices, trying to tear him down as light surrounded him, and he began to exit Eli's mind.
"THAT KIND OF RAW POWER WILL DESTROY US ALL!" "Well, well, well, defending your boyfriend, are you?! What kind of leader does that make you Gojo?!" LEO NO!" "What's a pretty thing like you doing out here all alone? GET BACK HERE YOU DIRTY LITTLE SLUT!"
It was the next voice however that chilled Leo, a voice he often heard in his nightmares, and one that plagued him often.
"From now on, I don't want you being around the other children, and I don't want you being out in the village without supervision. You have been nothing but trouble for the past 10 years…. No daughter of mine will ever disobey me." The light completely washed over Leo, and he left Eli's mind, only hearing the Anti-God speak once more.
You cannot escape your past, moth. You cannot stop me, Leo of Pangea. No one can.
"Leo!" Akira cried out, running over and catching the moth as he collapsed on the ground, Eli stood back, staggering as William roared, grabbing the Gargantua and tackling him right into the foundry. "Are you alright?"
"I am Akira," Leo coughed. "Help William. I'll be alright." Akira nodded, and ran to the foundry, sheathing both the tachi and wakizashi, quickly grabbing his father's sword from his back. He walked into the building, feeling an intense blast of heat as he did so, and looked around the interior of the building. It was a warm orange with furnaces blazing and molten metal suspended above in massive stone buckets, with a whole second floor near them. Akira stared around, listening for William and Eli, readying his father's sword as he noticed movement coming from above. William suddenly fell from the second floor to the ground, followed by Eli who roared and thrust his fully regenerated blade arm downwards. William rolled out of the way as Akira charged while Eli was distracted, stabbing his father's sword into Eli's back as the Gargantua roared. Eli threw Akira off his back, causing the Gojirasaur to skid near a furnace as Eli looked at both him and William, taking a moment to laugh.
"I TOLD YOU. YOU CANNOT STOP ME." As Eli advanced towards William, his arm blade fully extended, some of the molten metal from a nearby furnace suddenly splashed out, the spray hitting Eli in his other arm. There was a sizzle, and then a groan of pain from the Gargantua as he moved back. Akira looked at the burn from where he was, and saw Eli was not healing as fast, rushing forward as he caught some molten metal on the tip of his father's sword, and flung it at Eli's side, watching the Gargantua scream as more of his flesh burned. William looked over and grinned, figuring out what Akira was trying to do, and while Eli engaged Akira once again, the two fighting in the intense heat, William crawled up a ladder to the second floor, position himself over one of the buckets. Eli's blade arm locked into Akira's sword, bringing his face close to the Gojirasaur as he stared down at him, burning hatred in his red eyes. "I'LL KILL YOU! I'LL-"
"MOVE HAZUKI!" Akira looked up, and blasted Eli point blank with a nuclear pulse, stunning the Acolyte long enough for Akira to quickly roll out of the way as William cut one of the massive buckets off of its hook, sending the molten metal and the bucket falling. The bucket narrowly missed Eli, but the molten metal landed completely on him, making the Gargantua scream in agony as flames burst from his flesh, and he thrashed around, sending sprays of the smelted metal everywhere. William leapt down, keeping his sword in front of him as he helped Akira up, watching as Eli focused his attention on them, the metal oozing off him as he charged at them one final time. Akira breathed in gently, looking at Eli's chest as he noticed a small gap in the bone armor, tightening his grip as William looked at the Gojirasaur, understanding what the was going to do. Eli swung his bladed arm, and Akira blocked it, before severing it completely, allowing William to thrust his sword forward, and plunge it directly into the gap. Eli fell back, a strange darkness seeping from the wound as he landed near a rack of weapons, looking up at William and Akira. His eyes changed from the deep red they had once been, into an almost normal color as he looked down at the sword, realizing it was barely touching his heart. His body was badly burned, with blackened flesh and singed fur giving off an almost acrid smell. It was silent for a long minute, with nothing but the sounds of the wind and of the foundry in the air. Eli looked down at the sword, almost painfully as he moved his head down, and then back up at William and Akira, breathing in raggedly.
"Guess…. You got me…" Eli chuckled darkly, gripping the sword with his remaining hand, before sighing. "….. I underestimated you…. I thought…. You would've left this town behind…. I can see why Lord Hedorah is scared of you…. Hazuki…." At this, Akira nearly ran forward, a look of anger in his eyes, only for William to hold him back. "… He is the leader of all of us… His power is…. unimaginable…. He made me into this…. after I was stupid enough to trust him…. He fears you all…. I can feel it…. My actions today and everything I did to Takarada Town were my own…... I will not deny that…. and this is what I deserve…... This is a moment I've been waiting for, for a long time…." Eli coughed some, while Akira calmed down, anger still present in his eyes as he heard the Gargantua speak. "…. Do what you will with the rest of my men…. And if you meet someone named Cassandra…. Tell her…... I'm sorry for everything…... It was my actions that got her into this… Remember what I am going to tell you Hazuki…... Lord Hedorah is in Imperial Territory…... if you can slay him and his master…... you can save Pangea…. end this damn war…... save all of us from him…." At this Eli gripped the hilt of William's sword tighter, and drove it in further, completely piercing his heart. "…. Thank you for…. freeing me… I'm free… finally free…." Eli's eyes slowly closed, his head slumped over completely, and slowly but surely, his body began to fade away into ashes, blowing away with a small breeze, leaving William's sword to fall to the ground.
"….. It's over…." Akira said, feeling William let him go and watching him pick up his sword, staring down at the ashes on the ground. "Lord Hedorah…..." William put his hand on Akira's shoulder, looking at the younger kaiju briefly, and motioned for him to follow him. The two walked out of the foundry into the cool air, the midday sun having not set just yet from its cover in the clouds. Bodies of feral kaiju lay on the ground and in between various buildings, alongside some of the townsfolk who had fallen in the battle, and with several townsfolk shaking their heads as they looked at the bodies. As Akira and William moved closer, several townsfolk noticed them and began chattering, right as Leo walked up to them, a weak smile on his face as he joined both Akira and William. Ryu moved out from the crowd, smiling as he ran over, and nearly hugged Akira, only stopping when he noticed him clutching his side, right as Zheng joined them too with a big smile on the old warrior's face.
"We did it, we've beaten them all," Zheng said, making the crowd erupt into loud cheers as the group looked at them. "You have freed us…. All of you…... thank you so much…..." As he said this, Gar charged at William from the crowed, bellowing loudly, and causing the Gorosaurus to shout at him, and then hug his big head, relived to see him alive. The Gojirasaur youth and Jun stayed with the crowd, the latter nearly crying as he fell down to his knees, relieved to be alive and well.
"You're welcome Zheng," Ryu said, still smiling as he looked around at the townsfolk, and then at Leo, Akira, and William. "I don't think there are any of them left…." Akira listened to the cheers of the crowd slowly drown out as he thought of what Eli had told him. The kaiju in black had a name after all…. and yet… he was so far away. In all of Akira's travels, he had made it a point to avoid Imperial territory, especially considering the rumors he had heard about it, and yet, it was where his enemy had been hiding all this time. What ran through Akira's mind the most was that this "Lord Hedorah" feared him enough to try and kill him directly, something even he was not sure about. As he became lost in his thoughts, there suddenly was a commotion from the crowd as several townsfolk marched forward, holding a Zilla by her arms, the only bandit left from the raid. They placed her in front of the group and then stepped back, leaving the Zilla on her knees. The Zilla looked around, tears coming to her eyes, and looked up at Akira, breaking him out of his thinking.
"….. You're Cassandra, aren't you?" Akira asked, watching the Zilla nod as she put her head down. "... Eli wanted me to tell you that he was sorry for everything… He's gone now…."
"He's free now," Cassandra said, her voice breaking just a little as she then turned her attention to Zheng. "….. I will turn myself in… because I helped him with all of this…. I'll help you get your goods back, and after, I will accept any punishment you have in store for me…. this is all I want."
"Very well," Zheng answered, gesturing to several kaiju to take her away. As they did so, the crowd erupted into cheers again, and Zheng smiled, leading the group into the middle of the town. William and Akira decided to talk to the rest of the group later about what they had learned, sharing a knowing glance at each other. Ryu smiled, thinking of his grandfather, and yet fear still lingered in his mind of his secret from the others. Leo looked around at the crowd, noticing Rami's absence, a deep pit in his stomach as he thought of the being had encountered in Eli's mind, and how they had known things he had tried to keep long repressed. For now, they decided to finally relax, and recover after the battle. From inside a makeshift infirmary, Rami listened to the crowd, wincing as he tried not to move his broken arm, and stared up at the celling of the building they were in.
"… When Leo heals me… should I go back? How could I….? Not with things like this out there…... Things that could hurt my little girl… But I made a promise to Helios….. Mierda! What do I do Ignis? Tell me….." As Rami thought of what he would do, he listened to the cheers of the crowd once again, and remembered something Izel had told him once.
"Pangea as a whole should be united as one mi hijo…... I wish I could go over there now, because for the first time in a long while…. The Grand Alliance wants to make peace with us…. I only knew what Pangea used to be like from the stories passed down to me from my ancestors…. When the First Kaiju banded together… My Rami… make sure Tayana grows up in a world where she doesn't have to fight…" Rami sighed, and touched his pendant again, thinking about what he would do.
For now, he would rest, and so would Takarada Town.
Takarada Town: Three Days Later.
The town was recovering nicely from what Akira saw, with many of the damaged buildings having already been stabilized with wooden supports, and the townsfolk talking and helping each other with various repairs on damaged buildings. Their dead had been buried in a nearby graveyard with the proper respect, and the bodies of the bandits had been disposed of deep in the forest, in a place where no kaiju or wildlife dared venture. As Cassandra had said, the townsfolk found the bandits' camp, retrieving many of their goods and using the resources to help rebuild their town, as well as heal the wounded, Leo helping them when needed. As Akira walked towards the barn where Rami was staying, having previously gotten a message from Leo to meet there, he then noticed the Gojirasaur youth walking up to him, holding a large golden ring in his hands. "Hey Sensei." Akira stopped and looked at the youth, noticing how happy he seemed to be. "I just wanted to thank you again for helping me…. I promise I'll keep up on my training."
"Oh, you're welcome," Akira answered, a hint of embarrassment in his face. "I… well… I don't really consider myself to be a good teacher, but I'm glad I could help you."
"It's okay, I understand. For what it's worth…. I thought you were a really good teacher," the youth answered, still smiling at Akira. He then held the ring forward, and Akira took it, looking at it in his hands. "I wanted to give you this Sensei. I think it's a protection band. You should use it in your travels, especially if you run into more bandits."
"Thank you," Akira answered, placing his hand on the youth's shoulder. "I'm sorry, I never got to ask you your name."
"Oh, my name is Akira," the youth answered, making Akira freeze up as soon as he heard his name.
"Akira…. It's a good name," Akira said, looking down at the youth. "I think you'll be fine if you keep your training up. Just, don't overwork yourself okay?" The youth smiled once again, and walked up to Akira, hugging him tightly. Akira returned the hug, and for a moment, tears fell from his eyes as he did so. The two broke off the hug, and the youth then left after, leaving Akira standing there, holding the band in his hands. He breathed in gently, glancing back at the youth once more, and walked towards the barn.
"Are you sure you can't stay William?" Zheng asked, looking at the old warrior as he patted Gar's beak. "I know we can defend ourselves well enough now, but for old times' sake?"
"Sorry Zheng," William replied, grabbing Gar's reins. "I think that I belong elsewhere now. Even then, I know this town is in good hands, otherwise I wouldn't have been leavin.'" He looked at the barn, and breathed in, wondering what Leo wanted to talk about exactly. "You know in that battle, I saw you still got it."
"Oh, I know William," Zheng replied, waving his hand in the air. "But I can't do this forever. I wish I could, but one day, I won't be able to fight anymore."
"Neither will I Zheng," William replied, looking at his fellow warrior as he grabbed the Caesar's hand. "I won't be able to fight either. Until that time, I'll keep doin' what I do best. And right now, I think those youngins might need me to help. Yer youngins need help too, and they've got you. Yer a damn fine warrior Zheng."
"As are you William," Zheng replied, shaking the Gorosaurus's hand. "I wish you the best of luck in your journey." William nodded, and started to lead Gar to the barn, before he ran into Jun, noticing the young Caesar holding several planks of wood and stone. The two stopped, and William cleared his throat before he began to talk.
"Still helpin' around here lad?" William asked, to which Jun nodded, while the sounds of hammering and townsfolk chattering filled the air. "I won't keep ya too long, but is there anything you wanted to say?"
"Yes William," Jun answered, keeping his grip on the supplies he was holding. "…. Thank you for helping us…. I mean it…. I was worried that they would've wiped all of us out…."
"I know lad, but now ya have nothin' more to worry about," William said, patting Jun's shoulder. "I've seen ya fight…. If anyone comes by to bother yer town again, I know you will be able to fight them off."
"You really think so….? Thanks William," Jun replied, smiling a bit. "We'll all miss you, you know."
"I know lad, so take care of yerself, okay?" Jun nodded, and left, taking his supplies over to several townsfolk, helping them repair the stables they were working on. William then continued on with Gar, taking him over to the barn as he noticed Akira and Ryu there, waiting for him at the front of it.
Rami rubbed his formally broken arm, still feeling soreness in it, and looked down at the letter he had written. The sight of the feral kaiju and the darkness that flowed from them was still vivid in his mind, as well as the strength of Eli. In many ways, Rami counted himself as loyal to his Queen, yet, not so loyal to the Imperial Alliance as a whole. While she was part of the Imperials, Rami could tell that her heart was not in it, alongside the other leaders, aside from Gaius. Folding the letter, he walked up to Mars's condor, stroking its back as he tied the letter to its talons. He took the bird to the window, and let it go, watching as it flew off in the distance towards where it had originally come from. "I'm sorry Helios…... But I have to do this…." As Rami packed the rest of his things, he stopped from a brief moment, and leapt down from his perch in the barn, his eyes scanning the area intently. "I can hear you breathing palomillo. Show yourself."
"Whatever you say pájaro," Leo answered, suddenly appearing from behind Rami, his hands glowing. "You aren't very good at hiding your secrets."
"Rest assured, I am more loyal to my queen than that damn alliance," Rami chuckled, turning around as he put his arms up in a gesture of surrender. "I just saved your ass by the way. That assassin won't be after your group anymore."
"I find that hard to believe," Leo said, putting his hands down. Rami still kept his arms up, watching as Leo circled around him, the moth's eyes beginning to glow. "But regardless of what I think, something tells me you aren't planning on heading back to the Imperial Alliance."
"After what I saw, how could I? Those kaiju... I've never seen anything like that before…. I can't go back home knowing they exist and that they serve someone who's been…. Well… I don't know…." Rami put his arms down, while Leo stopped circling him and stood in front of him.
"You mean Lord Hedorah." Akira's voice came from behind Rami, making both the moth and the Rodan turn around to look at him. Ryu and William were standing next to him, the latter crossing his arms. "Before he died, Eli told me about him. He is the leader of the cult we have been battling all this time…... and he is located in Imperial Territory."
"So, he is," Leo answered, walking over to the other three kaiju. "This is why I asked you to meet here. When I gazed into Eli's mind, I could feel his presence, alongside the presence of…" Leo stopped, the Anti-God's voice echoing in his mind, and composed himself before continuing. "Regardless, I think that we should head into Imperial Territory to find Lord Hedorah, although this will not be easy."
"Into Imperial Territory?" Ryu sounded a bit panicked upon hearing this, William placing a hand over his shoulder to calm him down. "It's…. how would we get there….?"
"The lad is right Leo," William said, removing his hand as he walked up to the moth, "Imperial Territory isn't too easy to get in, and once we're there, we won't have many friends to back us up. And with that bastard Gaius in charge of the alliance…. it'd only be a matter of time before some of his loyalists might catch on to us."
"….. I will take you there…." Rami stepped forward, his arms at his sides as he stared at William and the others. "I know the path to the border, and I know places where you can stay safely as we search for this "Lord Hedorah." Those kaiju we fought…. They must be stopped… and I have decided the best way to help my queen is to aide you in taking down Lord Hedorah." After Rami finished speaking, he looked down, waiting for the judgement from the other kaiju.
"Trustin' a Rodan," William scoffed, before he walked back to Gar and rubbed his beak, "but stranger things have happened. If this means the end of this damn cult… then so be it…. I'm puttin' the lives of these kaiju and me in yer hands bird…."
"Maybe if we take out Lord Hedorah, it might mean the end of the war," Ryu said, a look of hope on his face. "There are kaiju on the Imperial side who want to make peace right? Maybe everything could work out…"
"… I don't see any other option than to trust him to lead us there," Akira said, staring at Rami with distrust in his eyes. "I have never headed into Imperial Territory on my travels…. but if it leads us to Lord Hedorah…. Then I will take this opportunity…." Akira gripped the handle of his tachi as he said this, clutching it tightly as he thought back to the night he met the kaiju in black for the first time. "I'll kill that bastard when I find him….."
"Then it's settled," Leo said, his wings flapping for a brief second as he blew some dust off of himself. "Rami will guide us to Imperial Territory, and from there, we will track down Lord Hedorah. We should get going in an hour or so." William nodded and grabbed Gar's reins, taking the triceratops with him as Ryu and Akira followed him, the latter still being lost deep in thought. Rami looked at Leo, the two staring at each other as the former noticed how troubled the latter looked.
"What other presence did you feel Leo? There is something troubling you…." Leo looked at Rami, and composed himself, staring at the Rodan.
"I…. I dare not speak its name…. I will tell the rest later…... but it knew everything about me…. including things that I had left buried in the past…." Rami started to shake a bit, having a faint idea on what Leo was speaking about. "It is important that we take down Lord Hedorah…. Because if we don't…. then all of Pangea will end up in an age of darkness…. Or worse…"
"I understand…... you have my aid…." Rami said, placing Leo's hand on his forehead. "I have too much to lose…. This is the truth palomillo…."
"So, it is," Leo answered, scanning the Rodan's mind and seeing what he did. "Know this Rami… if you ever betray us to Lord Hedorah or King Gaius….. you will be begging for death when I am done with you….."
"I accept that," Rami said, a small tear falling from his eye. "I will never falter…. I am doing this for her….." Rami stepped away, and moved to follow the others out of the barn, leaving Leo alone, the moth shocked at what he had just said. Leo looked around at the barn once more, and then left it as well, thinking about his encounter with the Anti-God, and what it could mean for Pangea.
An hour later…... the group left Takarada Town.
Mifune Pass: Imperial Camp.
The Imperial Camp was surprisingly silent, something which Helios appreciated as he tried to meditate. He hadn't seen Mars after the incident with the prisoners, and as of right now, all he could do was wait for the bird to return with Rami's message. Meditation was something that often calmed him, and while there was no tea in the camp to go with it, he could make do with simply meditating. However, his troubled mind kept him from concentrating, and soon, he started to think of something that he dared not bring up around Mars. "... I know what my sensei said…. but…. Why can't I get the Ronin out of my mind? When I have done missions before, it was against kaiju my sensei said were evil…. And from what I saw…. They were killing innocents…. This time is different…... I don't know how to feel." Helios opened his eyes, all three of his heads examining the scars on his necks as he felt them. "I wish Ramirez was here…. Everyone else in the camp is afraid to approach me." As he thought this, Helios looked out at the camp, noticing two of the soldiers talking with each other. Helios leaned forward, all three of his heads being able to pick up some of the conversation between the soldiers.
"Do you think this is all worth it?" a Varan soldier asked another soldier. "Working with those fucking psychopaths? I'm tired of all this, I just want to go home."
"Honestly, no," the other soldier answered, her voice noticeably being hushed. "Just be careful who you say that around. Gaius has plenty of kaiju on his payroll here…. and I wouldn't be surprised if he starts trying to keep us from speaking out." Helios couldn't say much when it came to King Gaius, only that he held the monarch in contempt every time he had to be near him due to Mars's position in the Imperial government. Helios drew his heads back, making sure the soldiers hadn't seen him
"Even they're tired of this… But making peace with the Grand Alliance? Is it even possible at this point?" Helios sighed, and leaned back for a moment, only for the sounds of flapping wings to catch his attention, his left head darting around to see where they were coming from. Mars's condor landed, a rolled-up letter attached to its leg, which Helios grabbed quickly and unrolled, reading what it said.
Helios,
I am sorry, but I am unable to fulfill my promise to you. Something has come up, and I don't want you to get hurt if you try to continue tracking this group. The area where I tracked them to was besieged by a group of bandits with a dark and terrible power, and I was caught up fighting them. What I realized is that this group you were tracking are not the threat to Pangea like Gaius says they are, but rather the other group they faced. These kaiju were only a small part of something bigger, maybe even a group or cult that as a whole has infiltrated both the Grand Alliance and the Imperial Alliance to keep this war going until... something happens. Heli Helios…. I cannot in good faith let them continue to do this, not when I have a lot to lose…. I know you are loyal to Mars…. And maybe you see me as an acquaintance at best… but please listen to me, when I tell you that the group you were tracking is not the enemy. I don't know if I will see you again…. but if you see any kaiju who seems to reek of darkness…. Then they are your enemy…... your true enemy…
As he read, Helios put the letter down, hearing nothing but his heart beating as he thought about what Ramirez had told him. "What do you mean Ramirez?" Helios thought of the various kaiju he had assassinated in the years past, and how resilient they seemed to be when it came to killing them. "Have I been facing them all this time? Does sensei know about this cult?" Helios stood up, his heart pounding as he felt his body begin to tingle. "But then why would sensei send me after Dagon if they existed? I don't understand…..." Helios breathed in, all three of his heads looking around in concern as he knelt down, and started to pray, feeling his heartbeat finally slowing down. "Metphies, please give me guidance… I am at a loss on what I should do, and I am afraid… All I ask is for your guidance…." As Helios finished his prayer, the wind blew, nearly taking Rami's letter with it, and Helios grabbed it, suddenly noticing something about the letter. There was a faint smoky scent coming from the letter, with a hint of ink that Helios assumed Rami used to try and disguise his scent, only for just a little bit of it to leak through into the letter. Helios's heads sniffed the letter, taking in the faint smoky scent into all three pairs of his nostrils. Getting the Rodan's scent, Helios took off into the skies, making sure his new swords were holstered in tightly, and flew off, tracking the scent over the winds as he left Mifune Pass. "I'll find you Ramirez…. and I'll get to the bottom of this… and maybe then I'll find my answer…."
Takarada Town: A Few Days After the Group's Departure.
On the outskirts of Takarada Town in the morning, a stranger arrived near the gate of the town, riding a azure-colored raptor who barked a bit as her owner climbed off her back, and tied her to a post just outside of the gate. "Easy girl…. I'll only be a moment." The kaiju was a Gojirasaur with dark purple scales and jagged sharp dorsal plates that were colored similar to her scales, their edges being a shade of pink as well. She was fairly muscular and well-built, her yellow eyes sharply scanning the townsfolk as she walked through the town. Her outfit consisted of a black sleeveless top with a shoulder guard on her left shoulder, red and black gauntlets on both of her hands, a leather skirt that was divided up into different sections with armor resting on top of it, and a pair of black and red shin guards. She carried a sheathed slightly curved katana with a long blade in her left hand, the sheath itself being dark red with gold highlights, and the handle's leather wrap being dark red as well, with a golden tip at the end of it, and white diamond shapes running across the handle. It was a bit longer than the standard issue katana most Gojirasaur used in the army. Several of the townsfolk did not notice the Gojirasaur, and the few that did gestured at her, wondering what a soldier of the Grand Alliance was doing in their town. She stopped for a moment, and asked a Baragon where the head of the town was. The Baragon pointed at Zheng, who was standing near a building that was being repaired, and the Gojirasaur walked over to him. "Excuse me sir, you're the leader of Takarada Town right?"
"Hm? Oh yes," Zheng answered, turning around to answer the new arrival. "And you must be from the army, right? I assume that the Grand Alliance heard about what happened here."
"They did," the Gojirasaur said, smiling briefly as she said this, "Before I left my division, it was all my fellow soldiers could talk about. So those warriors…. Are they still here? I'd like to see them please."
"I'm sorry miss, but you just missed them. They left a few days ago." At Zheng's explanation the Gojirasaur looked a bit disappointed, before Zheng continued to speak. "If it helps, they went in the direction of the border between our territory and Imperial territory last I knew. Is there someone you were looking for?" The Gojirasaur suddenly looked up as she heard this, a hopeful look on her face.
"There is, and I heard he was part of this group. Thank you very much for your help sir. I'll be going now."
"I hope you find who you are looking for," Zheng smiled, waving goodbye to the Gojirasaur, who returned his gesture. "Safe Journeys out there." The Gojirasaur walked over to the gate again, and untied her raptor, mounting her as she turned her to the direction of where the border was located. She breathed in, and sighed, trying her best to visualize how the Ronin who led the group looked like.
"After all this time… I've finally found you Akira…." She snapped the reins, and her raptor took off down the path to a large forest, following the direction that Zheng had pointed out to her.
Rin was almost confident that she would catch up to Akira soon, after years of looking for him.
Author's Note: Hey. I apologize for my long absence, and my lack of updates for both of my stories. I have been dealing with a lot of things in my personal life and have been busier than ever, as well as dealing with burnout, which meant that I had to take a break from writing fanfiction for a while. I hope to continue writing this story as well as ROTK, as I want to finish both, and I hope you all can understand what has been going. On top of that, I have decided to make a few changes to this story, such as giving Akira's parents better names than the ones I had chosen for them, switching some voice actors around that didn't quite work for me, and in general, correcting grammar errors. With this chapter done, I can say that we will be moving into a new story arc, one that I hope you all enjoy. Anyway, here is the voice cast, with quite a few updates.
