"We should talk about it first," Trina blinked, her mind reeling from the offer.

"I take it that Ace will be going with Nikolas. Let me go get his things packed and we'll leave you two to discuss this new offer," Gia forced a smile, also shocked by the offer. She didn't know how to feel about it. She did know one thing. Her brother was going to freak out over even the idea of Trina moving into Cassadine Central.

"Oh, that's unnecessary. We have everything that Ace can possibly need at the mansion," Nikolas got to his feet, running a seemingly nervous hand through his hair.

"His special blanket? His favorite toy? His favorite pacifier and storybook?" Gia arched a brow.

"Wait...Ace is leaving?" Trina stared in shock.

"We knew this was going to happen," Spencer cleared his throat, trying not to show his feelings, but he couldn't fool Trina, who simply wrapped her arms around him.

"It's not goodbye forever," Trina sighed forlornly as Spencer's arms wrapped around her, giving her the silent comfort that she was asking for.

"No, it's not," Spencer sighed and looked at his father, not sure if he had the strength for any of this. He just knew that he needed to be alone with his wife so that they could really sit down and talk about what comes next, now that Ace's care is no longer their sole responsibility. "Father, I'll bring Ace's favorite things to the mansion later. Right now...Trina and I need to be alone so we can discuss things."

Nikolas simply nodded, feeling that this was not easy for the couple at all. Of course, the separation didn't need to be long or permanent if Spencer and Trina decided to move into the mansion. "Ok. You know where we'll be."

"That goes for you too, Aunt Gia. Spencer and I have some things we need to talk about. Alone," Trina looked at her Aunt, who looked taken aback, but then she sighed and relented, slumping her shoulders.

"Alright, alright. I'm going. Call me if you need anything, alright? I'm always here for you."

Trina simply nodded with a smile.

Both Spencer and Trina's eyes were stuck on the baby as Nikolas carried him out the door, heading for his new home.

The silence in the house was deafening. The baby's absence was felt deeply by them both and all they could do was stand there and just hold each other, letting the tears fall. Somehow, they both had bonded with baby Ace. They had become parents and loved the role. But now that role was over and it broke their hearts.

After ten minutes of just holding each other, Trina pulled away and lead Spencer over to the loveseat. She had them both sit down, holding each other's hands.

"So...what did you and your father talk about while Gia and I were away? I could tell that things were better between you," Trina broke the silence.

"I did what I promised. We talked and I was honest about how I felt and he was honest about he felt...and we both finally understood each other. I understood why he did the things he did...how he had gotten to be so...broken. He understood what was behind my anger and his part in it. He conveyed how much he truly loved me and apologized that he hadn't shown it correctly...he told me how proud he was of me."

"Oh Spencer, see! I told you!"

Spencer just gave a dry laugh. "Yeah, you did. I should start listening to you more often, huh?"

"Most definitely," Trina smiled, kissing his fingers that were wrapped around her own. "So...what did you two say about Ace?"

"He said that he was glad that Ace and I were so close...and I think he sensed how much I had bonded with Ace because he promised that I could see him whenever I liked. That he wasn't kicking me out of Ace's life. In fact...as you know...he wants me...he wants us...to move into the mansion. He even has a wing sit up for us."

"Oh," Trina looked down, not knowing what to think about any of this. It felt like she had just gotten used to living in this house, which was modest and more her speed. To live in a fancy mansion...to have servants and valets...she didn't think that was her scene too much...but it was Spencer's. He'd be so at home there and he'd be near Ace! So would she! Besides, they will still be together, be married, and be a couple! That wouldn't change! Their love would stay intact, right?

"What do you think? I told him that I'd have to discuss it with you. If you don't want to go, we won't. We'll stay here and continue on and visit Ace regularly. There's no need for us to move."

"But you want to, don't you?" Trina looked at him knowingly. When she walked in, when it was spoken that Nikolas wanted Spencer to move into the mansion with him, she saw a little boy happy that his father wanted him. It touched her heart to see Spencer drop all pretenses and show what was behind that wall of the dark Cassadine Prince. She saw the Spencer that needed his father and his brother. Who wanted all of his family. How could she deny him that?

"I would be lying if I said that I didn't. But I don't want it if you don't. I want you to be comfortable with me, Trina. I want where we live to be a place you can go and feel like you can be yourself. Especially be yourself with me. I want to be your safe place, and if I can't be that for you there…"

"But you are my safe place, no matter where we are, Spencer! Just as long as you're there, I'm comfortable! Look, I can't say that I am comfortable with all the opulence and luxury that goes with your world...but I can get used to it. I can simulate. Just as long as I have you. My home isn't this house. It's not my dorm room and it's not my mother's house. My home is you. No matter where we live."

"Trina," He wrapped his arms around her and held her close, her words touching him deep inside. "You're my home too, baby!"

Trina giggled and kissed his cheek. "So...are we moving? Is that what you want?"

Spencer paused and thought it over. Living in the same house as his father. Getting to see Ace every day, as if nothing had changed. Returning to the life of privilege that he was used to, yet having Trina by his side to tamper down the prince when need be...he could live with it. Just as long as he had this beautiful woman in his arms by his side.

"Yeah. I think so. For a little while anyway. That is if it's okay with you…"

"It's ok. I can deal with living in the lap of luxury and having servants. It'll be hard, and it's a dirty job...but someone has to do it," Trina laughed, trying to act like moving into a mansion would be the hardest inconvenience she could suffer.

"Oh, dear. How awful," Spencer rolled his eyes, laughing as well. "We'll be ok, Trina. I know it."

Trina simply smiled, just letting herself relax in Spencer's arms. Somehow, she trusted Spencer's words and her own feelings. No matter where she lived, Spencer was her home. Whether they were staying in a hovel or a mansion. Point. Blank. Period.
