This story takes place in January 2027.
CHAPTER 1:
On the evening of January 2nd, the Bellas were at Aubrey and Chad's house for another Bella get-together.
"Happy New Year, fellow Bellas!" Aubrey cheered.
"A toast to our first Bella get-together of 2027," Chloe said.
"Alright, to kick things off, Chloe and Chicago have something to share with us all. Guys, the floor is yours," Aubrey said.
"Okay...so last January, Chicago and I came across something that I figured we should all try," Chloe began.
"What is it?" Aubrey asked.
"Well, let me ask you all this: How many of you have ridden on a subway before?" Chicago asked. Everyone except Esther and Flo raised their hands.
"Really?" Beca asked.
"There are no subways in Providence," Esther explained.
"Okay, now how many of you have ever pictured the idea of riding a subway with no pants on?" Chloe asked to which only Stacie raised her hand. All the assembled Bellas turned to look at Stacie.
"Why does that not surprise me?" Beca asked.
"Well...Beca's comment aside, can you guys elaborate?" Aubrey asked.
"Okay, it all started this one day when Chicago and I were taking one of our usual strolls through the city," Chloe explained.
...
"It was a cold winter day last January when Chloe and I were walking through Foley Square," Chicago said.
"We saw this huge mob of people, and I was curious as to what was going on. So, Chicago and I decided to find out for ourselves," Chloe added.
Chloe and Chicago went through the mob and up to the front, to a man holding a megaphone.
"Excuse me, sir, what's this big crowd for?" Chloe asked.
"It's for the annual No Pants Subway Ride," the host said.
"Hmm, what's that all about?" Chloe asked.
"Oh, it's very simple; we all ride the subways, just without pants on," the host explained.
"Really? And you said this is an annual event?" Chloe asked, surprised.
"That's right. And not just here in New York - a few other cities around the world are doing this as well today," the host said.
"Interesting," Chloe mused.
"You want to join us?" the host asked.
"Hmm, I guess," Chloe said. "What do you think, babe?" she asked Chicago.
"Well...why not? I've got a sense of adventure," Chicago grinned.
"All right, I guess we're in," Chloe said to the host.
"Awesome! We'll be starting in a little bit," the host replied.
...
"And much to our surprise, Chloe and I got roped into this crazy activity. We were assigned a subway route to take for the event and the rest...well, I think you can pretty much figure it out yourselves," Chicago finished.
"Wow, that's a very interesting story, guys," Aubrey said.
"I know, right? Anyway, we'll be doing this again next week, and we'd like to invite all of you Bellas to join us," Chloe said.
"I'm in!" Stacie exclaimed with no hesitation. "Not sure about Kyle and the kids, but I'll do it for sure."
"Great. Anyone else?" Chloe asked.
"Well...okay, I'll try it. But only if Chad can come, and I'll need a babysitter for Finn," Aubrey said.
"Of course Chad can come. Finn can come too if you want - It's not an adults-only event - but I certainly understand if you'd rather not bring him," Chicago explained.
"So, you guys think about it, and then text me when you decide if you're in or not," Chloe requested.
"Okay, so when is this subway ride?" Aubrey asked.
"January 10th," Chloe said.
"That'll give us plenty of time to decide what we'll do," Aubrey said.
