Chapter 4: Tower Ascend Pt 2
Other Yosuke is waiting on top of the tower to look over the demonic crystal powering up the tower. "Seems those guys are stronger than we gave them credit. Must be Adi's backstabbing at work here," he said as they are wielding the powerful prototype Fusion gems. "Doesn't matter, I will be able to take care of them," Other Yosuke lets the demonic power surge through his body to laugh at himself.
The Team is craving their way through the demons for they are showing increased resistance trying to stop them from reaching the top. "What is the deal with that demon Vex?" Yu asked.
"It's a Guardian Demon, they are the second in command of the defenses of the towers. Each of them has one along with one of your other selves being the big cheese of the towers," Adi said.
"I see, so we are dealing with Yosuke here," Rise said.
"I hope he isn't too hard to deal with," Naoto said as she checks her revolver to load it up with rounds to be ready for the next battle.
"It's going to be weird kicking someone who looks like Yosuke unless he is being a pervert," Chie said.
"I doubt that," Yosuke said.
"I wonder where did the demons come from?" Yu asked Adi.
"Who knows, they are not like Shadows. Shadows come from negative human emotions while Demons have nothing to do with humans at all. They are like an intrusive species in our two worlds. Disturbing the balance of things here," Adi said.
"That doesn't sound good," Kanji said.
"That is curious," Naoto said.
"The demons being another species," Marie said as she finds this interesting.
"Yes, the Floating City is doing research as to why they are here. The main thought is that they came from another reality and when Nyarlathotep uses his power to shape reality for him and Philemon game over Humanity's souls. The Demons break through and wreak havoc on the worlds now," Adi said.
"Pretty insane," Marie said as she wonders if she can gain that kind of power to be of help to her friends.
"After that event, Philemon is treated like a bad omen back in my world," Adi said.
"He is supposed the good of Humanity right made into flesh right?" Yukiko asked.
"Well, he is but he is a neutral watcher of things. 6 billion people died in a blink of an eye and he just fucking watched. He created a new timeline and left the old one to rot. I can't forgive him for that," Adi said.
"Even doing good would do bad with the wrong context," Yukiko said.
"Exactly, he is the reason why the Chaos was even made. Making a new timeline that was not meant to happen caused that chaotic energy to appear," Adi said.
"Just insane but we should focus on the task at hand," Naoto said.
"Agreed," Adi said as they rushed up the stairs to head for the top floor where Other Yosuke is waiting for them.
Other Yosuke is waiting for them as the Team has arrived at the top floor with Other Yosuke fitted into an armored bodysuit with a black hooded cloak over it. "So, the traitor has come with her little band of knockoffs," Other Yosuke said as he looked to see all of them don the outfits of their Personas. "So, you are making use of stolen technology we developed. You just steal everything huh," Other Yosuke said looking at the others.
"Why us, why are home?" Rise demanded with flashes of anger on her face. "Why involved these people?" she demanded.
"Simple really, minimize the damage as small as possible. I picked this town because it's quite far away from eyes besides it's a rural town in the middle of nowhere, who cares right," Other Yosuke said as the Team is upset with his heartless comments.
"We care," they all said as Other Yosuke does not care as he continues.
"So are going to use these towers to surround the town and suck up all the souls from their place until it becomes a ghost town. Once we are done, we will use the energy to wipe the memories of this place from the world's minds. It will be as if it never existed," Other Yosuke said as the Team is quite disturbed by this.
"You got to be kidding me, you going to wipe out everyone and then make people forget about it," Kanji is beyond fed up with these people's nonsense.
"Dude, that is insane," Yosuke said as he is quite disturbed his other self is this ruthless.
"Do you have a better idea? We are to safeguard this world to make sure it doesn't suffer the same fate as our world. We will cross any line to make sure this mission is completed," Other Yosuke said.
"That is evil," Marie said.
"There is no evil or good when involving Chaos. There is only the humane choice and the inhumane choice. The humane choice is stopping the Chaos at any cost and the inhumane choice is oblivion. Your choice here is oblivion and I am going to stop you," Other Yosuke summons Jiraiya for both of them are empowered by demonic energy.
"That is madness," Rise said as everyone gets into a combat stance.
"Is it really, you are the World Ender? His path is the destruction of both our worlds, time to die," Yosuke said as both he and his Persona disappear into the shadows.
"That name again," Yu said as he is bothered by this. Rise takes note of this and wants to hold him but can't until later after their mission is complete.
Other Yosuke is stalking them to have him and Dark Jiraiya swiftly comes in to target Teddie to slam into him to launch him across the room. Other Yosuke uses his twin daggers to engage with Yukiko and Chie. Dark Jiraiya unleashes a gust of wind to scatter the group to go after Kanji.
He uses his shield to block the kick of the Dark Persona but Dark Jiraiya tosses ninja stars behind Kanji. This triggers a blast of wind to knock him off balance, the Persona uses his swift blow to send him flying across the room slamming into a pillar.
"Oh crap," Kanji sidesteps from the Persona as he lobs bolts of lightning at it. The Persona slices the bolts with his weapons with Naoto fires explosive bullets. The persona emits a barrier of wind to block her shots with him unleashing a barrage of wind orbs to target Naoto.
She rolls out of the way to return fire but Dark Jiraiya entraps her in a bubble of wind to toss her into Kanji to pepper them with fierce winds. "Swept by the wind, Wind Cutter," he slashes the air to release energy crescents made of wind energy.
Marie blocks the attacks with her own but one got through to slice through the pillar. Teddie destroys the falling pillar with his claw. Naoto fires shots onto the floor and pillar to act like proxy mines. The persona rushes at them but the bullet explodes with nuclear energy. Kanji getting tossed by Adi via gravity toss.
"Get bashed," Kanji slams into Dark Jiraiya and thing charges up his shield with lightning to bash the Persona with a painful shock. Teddie follows up by summoning a barrage of ice needles to impale the dark persona.
"Gravity Bomb," she creates an orb of gravity that gathers debris around it to use like a grenade to strike its target causing some damage. Marie unleashed her Shining Arrows to cut onto the demonic Persona.
"How clever but it will take more to stop me," Dark Jiraiya said as he leashes out with an explosion of wind power to blow away all five Persona Users to be onto their toes. "Well, the Gravity Queen reached the bottom of the barrel in terms of allies," the Persona mocked them. "A few dumb humans, a shadow pretending to be human, and a fake goddess," Dark Jiraiya said.
"Who are you calling fake goddess, I will protect Inaba," Marie said as she is blasting him with light beams but Jiraiya deflects them away with his blades.
"Good job, we had to do the work for you since you did just a great job at it," the Persona said dryly getting under her skin.
"Shut up," Marie gathers light into her palms and unleashes a rapid-fire wave of light balls causing explodes with each hit but Dark Jiraiya laughs at her to swiftly move away using his speed to dodge her spells. "Hold still, damn it," Marie said.
"I rather not," Dark Jiraiya said as he slams onto the floor to unleash a wave of wind to blow everyone off balance. He lobbed beams of wind to send Naoto and Kanji into pillars hurting her back on impact.
"This is insane," Marie said.
"They had killed powerful demons and Persona Users before, stay sharp," Adi said as the five members go on the assault against the Dark Persona.
"Oh, just great," Marie said dryly as Adi surges with power to toss a Gravity Well to pin down the Dark Persona with Marie using her Shining Arrows to tear into the enemy weakening them further.
Other Yosuke is fighting off Yu, Rise, Yukiko, Yosuke. and Chie able to hold his own while subverting their attack patterns.
O. Yosuke is dodging and weaving from Yu's and Yosuke's attacks to deflect away their strikes with Yukiko using her fain to unload waves of heated air. He disappears into the shadows as he attacks with a wind clone to tackle Yu to trap him in a twisting trap.
"Shadow Clones, really?" Chie questioned as they try to hit him but he is using clones to distract them while striking them in the shadows.
"I wish I could do that," Yosuke said as he got tripped up by a wind trap to take a full hit from a wind explosion.
Chie sees several clones slash into her with the real one coming in to kick her into a pillar. He comes in with him rapidly stabbing her in the stomach and chest. He drives his blades into her chest and tosses her against a wall.
"I bet that is the first time you got penetrated Chie," O. Yosuke said as he kicks her hard in the face breaking her nose. "I hope you enjoyed it," Other Yosuke said as Yosuke and Yukiko come in to aid Chie with Rise trying to use her scanning power to see through the several clones they are fighting against.
"Gee, so many of them. Hold on tight, I will sort this out," Rise summons a visor over her head allowing her Persona to scan the target.
"Yeah this is getting bad," Yu said as several clones explode to knock him down. He regains his balance to launch bolts of lightning and darkness to take out clones. Yukiko uses sickles of flames to chop down the rest of the clones standing.
Rise noticed the true villain firing an Aqua Laser. "Got you," Rise fires the beam of high-pressure water to score a hit to knock Other Yosuke into a pillar.
Yukiko heals Chie and fixes up her nose. "Are you okay Chie?" she asked.
"Yeah I am cool, he gave me a nasty beating," Chie said as she is ready for the fight to go back into the fight. "Penetrate this asshole," Chie kicks Other Yosuke in the back which leads to Yosuke stabbing into his Other self's chest.
"Do you ever shut up? You are just as annoying as the original version," Other Yosuke said as he is using clones again but Rise can see through this to cast Photon Geyser to catch him off guard.
"Your clone trick is not going to work on me," Rise said as she gathers water around the Other Yosuke to entrap him within a bubble hovering in the air. Yu, Yosuke, and Yukiko use their elemental spells to tear into the water bubble.
Rise implodes the bubbles to make Other Yosuke take huge amounts of damage with Chie hitting him with a powerful kick with enough force to break some of his ribs. He gets sent into a pillar to break it in half on impact.
"Aqua Laser," Rise powers up another spell to aim her microphone at Other Yosuke. He prepares a bunch of clones but Rise's scanning powers make this useless. She lets out the spell to tear through the clones and score a hit.
Yosuke and Yu close in to use their blades to crave into his body shedding blood onto the floor. Yukiko uses her fan to unleash a barrage of flames to burn into Other Yosuke. He screams in pain as Yu and Chie kick him into a wall while Yosuke and Yukiko toss several flame and wind orbs to pound into him.
"Take this," Rise fires a blast of light to rip into Other Yosuke to be badly wounded and bleeding out. He collapses onto the floor as the Dark Persona is losing strength with Naoto firing all 6 shots into the body of the opponent.
Adi flies at the enemy to deliver a powerful Gravity Kick to knock him into a wall. 6 nuclear blasts were enough to put him down for good making it fade away to end the fight.
"You are finished along with this tower," Yu said.
"Oh yeah, you think this is over. More towers are coming and my friends are way stronger than I am. You are only delaying the result, you are going to lose," Other Yosuke said as he dies from his wounds.
"Well, we managed to take him out. Time to grab that crystal and get out of here," Adi said as the team walked away with Rise and Yukiko healing up the Team's wounds.
"That was crazy, I hope I can do that," Yosuke said.
"You will in time. 1 down and 6 more to go along with their team leader," Adi said as they go into the chamber for Yukiko feels uneasy taking out the Other Yosuke.
"Do we have to kill again?" Yukiko asked.
"Feeling sick, I am afraid we need to take out each one. They will not hesitate to kill and you can't afford to make mistakes," Adi said as Yukiko nods her head.
"Understood. I don't like it but like we have a choice from that battle," Yukiko saw how ruthless that Other Yosuke was and picked them apart in the fight.
"Don't worry Yukiko, we are not murderers who kill for fun. We are doing this to save the ones we love. No matter how much pain we go through, it's all worth it," Yosuke said trying to cheer her up.
"Yeah, your right," Yukiko said as they saw a small purple gem sitting on a pedestal.
"There is our prize," Adi takes the gemstone to make the tower inactive. "Well, mission complete. We need to get back to the ground and scatter away. There will be more towers to come and we need to be ready when this happens," she said.
"Good, I need a break from all this," Teddie said.
"I ditto that," Yosuke said as they go back into town to give it rest for a bit.
Elsewhere Other Yu and others got word of Other Yosuke's death from the Seekers of Truth along with Adi. "Sadly, one of their own is gone now but he did buy time for the tower to gain some energy. We need to make do with what we have," Other Yu said.
"I agree, the towers will come online soon and we need to buff up our defenses," Taichi said.
"Yes, Yosuke's death will not be in vain. We will turn on this demonic circle in town and those fakers will not get in our way," Other Yu said as they prepare for the next tower to appear.
Meanwhile, Rise and Yu got back home to see Nanako waiting for them there. "Oh, you came back. I just got out of school," Nanako said.
"Perfect timing, we can serve you some Tofu now," Rise said.
"Thanks, Big Bro and Big Sis," Nanako said showing a big smile that the two find pretty.
"Come on kiddo, come inside. I will get you something," Rise said as the trio head inside to make her something to get the kitchen ready.
"Thanks, oh do you know about the shopping mall nearby?' she asked.
"Oh yeah, there is a new mall not too far from here. Seems popular with he kids here," Yu said.
"I wish we had a place like that when we were in high school. We should go there and check it out in the near future," Rise said.
"We can go together sometime," Yu said.
"That would be fun," Nanako said as Rise passes her dish.
"Eat up kiddo," Rise said.
"Thanks," Nanako said as she enjoys her time with the duo talking about her day at school. The small town has gained some peace for now.
Elsewhere Kai looks at the inactive tower to sense weak energy inside. "So, they have managed to shut it down. When all 8 towers get turned down, the Chaos will creep into this world," Kai holds onto his chest to feel a mighty power from within. "That will be my chance to strike back," Kai said as he goes back to his house to tend to his sister's needs.
