Chapter 17: Zoo Havoc
Kai And Rei are heading for the park to speak with someone. Rei is coughing with blood coming onto her hands. "Oh shoot," she said.
"Hold on, I will get your medicine soon," Kai said as they meet with a mysterious hooded figure set up his van under a tree.
"Hello there, my favorite customer," the shopkeeper said as he pulls out a bottle of liquid. "Seems like your little sister's sickness is getting worse by the day," he said.
"Well, everything she used her powers. Her body is getting weaker and the disease is making her more ill but that medicine is helping," Kai said as he pays him in crystalized demon blood to take the bottle to make her slip some. "Here you go," Kai said as he can see Rei is getting much better now.
"My body is not on fire anymore," Rei said as Kai looked worried.
"The power to see the future is quite the burden," Shopkeeper said.
"Yes it is but her prophecy is like dreams. Very vague and murky," Kai said.
"That nice man Yu will be the World Ender who will end this world as we know it," Rei said as her big eyes seem to be staring into space.
"Yes that guy, who killed one of the 'gods' of this world. He is very interesting," Kai said thinking about Yu and thinking he can be useful later.
"He will end the world through an act of ultimate selfishness, love," Rei said as Kai snaps his finger to get her out of her trance.
"Snap out of it," Kai said as Rei shakes her head.
"Oh, I was in a trance again. It's so sad what happened to him," Rei said.
"Well, that woman Adi is not showing her secrets to them. It's their fault they don't see it coming," Kai said.
"Her future is filled with blinding hope and dread. Covered in light and darkness in a world of Chao," Rei said.
"Yeah. Yu and Adi are important to how the world will be shaped in the future. We need to keep watch over the situation," Kai said.
"Indeed, you wish to use the Chaos to save your sister from her curse. The curse of her powers," the shopkeeper said.
"I need the Chaos and bring this new world into an endless state to stop Rei's dying again," Kai said as the young girl is worried about her brother.
"Thanks for the medicine," Rei said.
"No problem, anything for you. We need to be going on," Kai said as they go off.
"Don't be a stranger if she is choking again," the shopkeeper said as Kai and Rei walked away.
Elsewhere famous pop idol Sakura is doing a show at the Okina Zoo with fans cheering for her on stage. A cute 17-year-old Sakura wearing a pink frilly dress matching her bright pink long hair is surrounded by her adoring fans. "The sweetness of the heavens. I love you, Sakura," a male fan said as Sakura sported a cutesy smile to melt his heart.
"Thank you, sir. I am very grateful you like my music. Remember everyone I am doing a charity concert in Tokyo within a week. I hope you support me along with my employer Kaze Media. With your help, we will make Japan a better place to live," Sakura gives her fans a cute little wink as the crowds go wild.
"We love you, Sakura," a female fan shouted.
"I know, I know. I need to go," Sakura said as she speeds through the crowd to be within her dressing room in her trailer for her bodyguards to push away the crowd.
She sits on her chair and she lets out a fat sigh along with her fake happy smile disappearing. "Gee, good grief. I am finally away from those losers," Sakura said as she turns on the TV screen to contact her boss Mako of the Lone Stars.
"So how did the meet and greet go?" Mako asked to broadcast himself on the screen.
"It's all coming together boss, they are eating my words out of my hands like the degenerates they are," Sakura feels dirty from being around so many desperate men.
"Well, you can sell their lungs if a pretty face tells them to do it," Mako said.
"I know right, show them a pretty fantasy wife, and they each drop 50,000 Yen per order. It's insane how crazy these weirdos are. So how is your plan going?" she asked.
"Pretty well, I am making steps to set it all up. How is Mother doing in the Zoo?" Mako asked.
"She is gathering as much biomass as possible to let her turn animals into demonic monsters with her unique powers," Sakura said.
"Good, she needs to gather as much as possible to give birth to the Supreme Being. She is needed for my new world and to prepare for the upcoming Chaos that will soon cover our world," Mako said.
"Yes indeed, I will report in when Mother is done here. She is within the maintenance tunnels under the zoo to begin the test run," Sakura said.
"Okay, stay in touch," Mako said as he cuts off the phone line.
"Well, I am becoming the number one idol in the nation and I am pushing for the purity of this nation. I have them under my thumbs and they love it. Rise is such old news nowadays and I am the big bitch now," she said as she laughs to herself. She begins to enact her master's plans to brainwash the hopeless masses with her voice pushing ultra-nationalist views down their throats with her beautiful voice and graceful movements.
Elsewhere Yu is speaking with his mother on the phone with Rise doing the laundry. "Hello there mom, how are you doing today?" Yu asked.
"Oh, hey honey, it's going great lately but I am hearing some odd things are happening around Inaba. There are sightings of monsters around that area, it reminds me about what happened with Tokyo 2 years ago," Mrs. Narukami said as she remembers Tokyo's skylines filled with blood-red skies and rows of bones everywhere.
"Yes, don't worry. We are safe here," Yu said.
"Alright, I am glad nothing has happened to you. Your father is getting late lately from his job overseas. I miss him at home," Yu's Mother said.
"I am sure, he is okay. You hear about those rallies with the Lone Stars?" Yu asked.
"Yes, it's very annoying. A lot of older folks seem to like their message which is concerning for me. They want to take this nation down to a dark place within our history. A history filled with shame and regret," Mrs. Narukami said.
"Yeah, Grandpa survived World War 2 and had some bad stories about it," Yu said.
"Yes Daddy wanted to do his duty to protect his friends and family but at a terrible cost to his soul. I am sorry for dragging out something negative," Mrs. Narukami said.
"It's okay, mom. Hopefully, people are seeing them for what they are," Yu said.
"Yes, oh by the way. During the summer, I want us to hang out together when I have free time. Me, you, and Rise will go out for lunch to catch up," she said.
"Oh, that would be a lovely mom. We should go to that pizza buffet that just opened in Okina City," Yu said.
"Oh, I heard about that, those dessert pizzas sounds delicious. I wanted to try those, well son I will see you later," she said.
"See you later Mom," Yu said as he turns off the phone to work on something for Rise. Rise comes back to finish the laundry.
"Goodness, I am done with that. You didn't have as much to wash, lucky you," Rise said as she sits down on the couch.
"Did you buy a lot of underwear lately," Yu said.
"There was a sale and there were some pretty undies to grab to make myself feel even prettier for myself and you," Rise said smiling at him to poke him on the nose.
"Mission completed with that," Yu said slyly as he is writing something on a piece of paper.
"Oh, I bet. What are you doing?" Rise asked.
"I wrote a poem for you, Rise," Yu said as Rise feels touched he did this for her.
"Oh really, that is so sweet for you to do this for me," Rise said.
"You are always worth it. I wanted to read this to you," Yu said.
"Okay, I would love to hear your wordsmithing," Rise said as she is patiently waiting for him to start.
"Well, this poem is called Presence of an Angel. I wrote it just for you," Yu clears his throat to begin his poem.
"The sight of this angel puts me in a trance of awe and beauty. Her voice makes my heart melt like a wax candle. The way she moves turns my legs into rubber. The gaze of her eyes puts me into a state of bliss. Her smile makes my brain flip back and forth with excitement," Yu said as he continued.
"Sometimes I feel my heart gave itself sharp pain as if tiny needles drill into it like I can feel suffering which goes on throughout her life. Is as if our hearts are one and constantly interconnect with each other," Yu presses onward.
The feeling when I'm around her is unbelievable compared to anyone I ever meet in my life. With this said and more, the only thing that can bring us together is either of us saying three little words. This is to you my precious angel who makes life complete," Yu finished his love poem to Rise. She is smitten by his lovely poem. "What do you think?" he asked.
"Oh goodness, I want to ride this man so badly," Rise thought as her mind is overwhelmed with love and lust. She says nothing having a deep blush and a big grin. Rise gives him a big hug to give him a long passionate kiss while there is a tight tender embrace. "That was so cute, thanks baby," Rise said.
"No problem, Angel fits you very well. You saved me before from Other Rise with your beautiful voice I love so much," Yu said.
"Oh, so I am like your guardian angel?" she asked to kiss him all over his face.
"Yeah basically," Yu said as Rise gives him a big girl.
"Thanks, so you were talking with your mother?" she asked.
"Yeah, we are going to go to lunch together soon. We are going to that new pizza buffet that opened up in Okina City," Yu said.
"Oh, Pizza Castle. I heard about that; those dessert pizzas I heard were to die for. Peanut Butter and Jelly pizza sounds like heaven," Rise said licking her lips at the thought of taking a bite out of it. They turn on the TV screen to see there is an event with idols doing shows in Okina Zoo including Sakura and her old rival Kanami doing shows there to promote the zoo.
"Oh, Kanami is there too," Yu said.
"Yeah, she is on her ropes lately. She is getting older like me and pushing it but she has that drive to be an agent of good," Rise said hoping she retires soon to enjoy a normal life.
"Sakura is there too," Yu said as Rise frowns at the mention of her name.
"I hate that woman so much," Rise said.
"Jealous?" Yu asked lightly.
"Of course not, she is using her platform to push trash. None of the positive feelings like me and Kanami were doing in the past," Rise said.
"I know, I was just joking. That woman wouldn't go away," Yu said.
"We should focus on setting up going to the beach always. The Summer Break is upon us and taking Nanako would be fun," Rise said.
'Yeah, you are right. We should go in the next few days," Yu said.
"Yep, I am going to be the biggest beach bunny on the sandy shores," Rise said as she pumps out her chest making her large chest jiggle under her blouse.
"Yeah, and I can get front-row seats for your beach bunnies to barely be held back by your bikini top,"
Elsewhere Kanami is taking a break from her idol duties to enjoy a smoothie. "Oh my, this taste so good," she said as Sakura is looking at her from a distance with hate in her eyes.
"That fat-titted idol is just like Rise. A bunch of naïve fools, I am going to enjoy turning her into a demon," Sakura thought as she approaches the elder idol with a fake smile. "Hello there Kanami Sensei," Sakura said as Kanami is unnerved by her presence.
"Oh, hello Sakura. Your music is interesting, to say the least," Kanami said as she thought about how she can get away from her.
"Thank you, I wanted to show you something," Sakura said as she feels a sting within her mind to feel Mother's psychic link.
"So, are we ready to go?" Mother asked.
"Yes, time to give a test run and turn this place into a battlefield but first I am going to have you meet one of my rivals. An old bird of the Idol business," Sakura said.
"Oh, she is a lovely one. Bring her to me while I bring hell to this place," Mother said as she laughed to herself.
"Okay, come with me Kanami. I have something to show you," Sakura urges her as Kanami nods her head.
"Okay," Kanami is dragged by Sakura to go into the underground area while Mother unleashes a horde of mutant demonic animals flooding the zoo to begin unleashing havoc on the location.
Back with Rise and Yu, they head to the doorbell to see Adi. "Guys, we got a problem. The Okina Zoo is covered with mutant animals," Adi said as the two were surprised by this.
"Seriously, Kanami is there too. We got to make sure she is safe along with the other people there," Rise said as they go into a car to speed toward the zoo.
They are already in their Fusion forms to arrive at the Okina Zoo not too long enough to see it's a mess with people getting killed by a demonic-looking Lion. "Oh crap, these animals are turned into monsters," Rise said as she scans all the animals to see traces of demonic energy within them which turned them into demonic mutants.
"Pretty bad here," Yu summons Ishtar to use bolts of lightning to zap the demonic lion to dust. Yu uses his sword to slice up an animal in half with gore scattered across the ground.
Adi uses Zero Gravity to use a field of energy to lift several targets into the air helplessly with her chaining up floating Gravity Kicks to take them out with powerful blows.
Rise uses orbs of light to strike down enemies with her dodging an incoming demonic Rhino which smashes through a building nearby. "Gee, they have gotten so strong," she said as she conjures a water whip through her microphone to leash and tear into the skin of the mutant beast. "Photon Geyser," she makes a buildup of light energy underneath the animal to engulf the monster in a pillar of light killing it.
"The demonic energy they have gotten transformed them and made them very violent," Adi said as she tosses gravity orbs to take out another demonic Rhino. She gets pounded by a demonic lion slashing at her body as she kicks it away to blast it apart with a beam of gravity energy.
"You okay, Sensei?" Rise asked as she sees a deep cut across her thigh. She goes over to begin healing her wound for Adi feels grateful.
"Thank you Rise," Adi said as Yu is using Thunderous Rend to tear apart a rhino into a pile of gore. Ishtar uses her psychic powers to lift several demonic animals into the air to then launch them at high speed to crash into a building. They violently burst apart on contact with the hard walls as a demonic gorilla appears to punch Yu in the face to launch him across the field to crash through a window.
"Oh no you don't, Thunder Reign," Ishtar tosses a spear of lightning to stab into the big ape to unleash a ton of electricity to vaporize the beast into a pile of ash. She creates a psychic barrier to block an incoming demonic gorilla to protect Rise and Adi.
"Thank you Ishtar," Rise said as she fixed up Adi. "There you go," Rise said as she blast the gorilla with a beam of light killing it.
"Ready to go, Gravity Well," Adi cast a dome of intense gravity to crush anything within the spell's hold.
Several demonic eagles are divebombing Yu as he shocks them out of the sky to slice them into piles of meat. He fires bolts of lightning from his free hand to zap a charging rhino to stun it while he slashes the air releasing dark energy crescents to cut the beast down.
Ishtar uses her psychokinesis to lift pieces of debris to smash several targets. "Black Frost," Yu switches to another Persona to unleash the spell Blazing Hell to burn away anything within the flaming field.
"So, you have come to see my work," Mother said within their minds.
"Who is this?" Rise asked as they feel intent within her beautiful voice.
"I am Mother and I will aid the Lone Stars to remake this nation and beyond," Mother said to let out a soft giggle.
"Oh great, more problems," Yu said as he swings his sword to tear through the demonic gorilla to leave behind a bloody mess.
"So, they are making their move now," Adi said as she entraps the gorilla in a gravity orb to pull it in and get kicked hard in the chest to launch into a building. She noticed a lot of the people are becoming piles of orange goo. "What the hell is going on here?" she wondered.
"I need biomass to complete my task, the creatures and humans here will make do," Mother said.
"What do you want with them?" Yu demanded.
"I need material to make the supreme being who will be the blueprint to my master's new world," Mother said.
"That sounds insane," Rise said as she is blasting more demonic animals away with water and light spells.
"The Lone Stars are a means to being back Japan to its former glory and then remaking a new empire under his rule," Mother said.
"Oh, this boss of yours is truly nuts," Yu said as Black Frost blasted away demonic hyenas with a barrage of ice spears to impale them through the head instantly killing them.
"He has grand plans for this world. Japan will be the center of it all," Mother said.
"Your master is nothing but Shido 2.0," Adi said as she lets out a wave of gravity energy to lift enemies into the air. Rise tosses bubbles to explode on impact to destroy the floating demonic animals.
"Unlike Shido, he sees the bigger picture like the threat of the Chaos on this world," Mother said as Adi raises her eyebrows at this. "Yes he is working on a solution to fix this problem to secure the future he seeks for this world," Mother said.
"Bringing back the Japanese empire, no thanks. You're master is using the crisis for his benefit," Adi said.
"Doesn't matter, I hope you like my experiment here. Speaking of which," Mother said as a huge elephant appears to crash through the wall to reveal its Oscar now is a demonic monster. "Oscar would love to give you a big kiss," she said in a mocking tone as Oscar let out a big sound shaking the area.
"Oscar," Rise said as she is sad that one of Nanako's favorite animals is now a big monster.
"Damn it," Yu switches to Undine for the mermaid spreads out a wave of mini bubbles to pepper the beast with watery explosive chain reactions barely slowing it down. Oscar tackles Yu to knock him away as it stomps its feet onto the ground unleashing waves of dark energy to push everyone back.
"Rise, how do like Oscar's glow up?" Sakura asked on the loudspeakers nearby.
"Sakura, of course, you are working with the Lone Stars. Wait a minute, how do you know this is me?" Rise questioned.
"We have records from the Kirijo Group about your team being Persona Users. Besides your voice gives it away anyway," Sakura said.
"Is this want you what or its what your master told you to think about," Rise said getting even angrier about their plans.
"Of course, who else is going to fix this nation? It's been in a long decline for decades and it's going to get worse. My master is going to fix this," Sakura said as the trio is dodging the incoming giant demonic elephant.
"Why fight for a system that will enslave you," Adi said as she pins down Oscar with gravity magic. Rise and Yu attacking it with close-range attacks to pound against its thick hide.
"I own the master my life and giving me the means to make use of my talents to aid him. Nothing less matters to me," Sakura said.
"Nothing but a hack," Rise said with venom.
"I am the future grannie," Sakura said as Rise is upset by this.
"I am not a grannie!' Rise said as she fires an Aqua Laser to slam into Oscar to knock it into a building burying it under the pile.
"I have become more popular than you Risette," Sakura said as Adi cast a Gravity Dome to weaken the demonic elephant.
"Yeah through your connections, not your 'talents', Rise said as she assaults Oscar with spears of light to impale the beast's hide.
"Jealous, Risette?" she taunted.
"Not really, you are nothing but a tool for twisted men. So pathetic," Rise said.
"Say what you want, I have your friend Kanami within the underground section. Come get here before she turns into a monster," Sakura said with an evil laugh.
"Damn it, we need to take care of Oscar and save Kanami," Rise said.
"Right, sorry Oscar. Seth," Yu switches to his big black dragon to use Madness Nails to use his empowered talons to slice and cut into the monster elephant. "Rip and Tear, Talon Scar," Yu ordered.
"Turn into red ribbons," Seth said as his wings glow green to unleash a huge barrage of wind crescents to hit the monster Oscar hit on and reduce the creature into a mass of meat and blood.
"So long big guy," Yu said as they noticed a mass of orange goo going down into vents leading to the maintenance section underground.
"Yeah, time to go down there," Adi kicks the vent to slip down below to see Sakura is having Kanami being held by a demon.
"Get away from her," Rise said as she uses her water whip to pull Kanami into her arms while Yu and Adi attacks the demon to kill it.
"Looks like we are found out," Sakura said as a psychic blast knocks the trio onto the floor. A beautiful yet eerie looking woman appears behind Sakura.
"Yes I have managed to gather the biomass I needed, time to get out of here," Mother said as she takes Sakura to teleport out of there.
"Damn it, they escaped and left this mess behind," Yu said.
"This is serious. What is the leader of the Lone Star's plan always? Well, we saved Kanami at least and stop them from doing more damage," Adi said.
"I have a feeling we are going to see those two again," Rise said.
"Yes, the Lone Stars are a fringe movement within the nation who have backers in high places but these guys we can handle when they pop up again. Let's get out of here before the police show up," Adi said as Rise is concerned with this.
"Gee, she went from being an evil mouthpiece to a real terrorist. I hate this woman so much," Rise said as she sees her as a disgrace to others who want to spread positivity and hope.
"Yeah, she is a real winner there. I doubt her fans even like her like that," Adi said as they get back to their human forms to head to the car to place Kanami in the back with Rise.
"Thank goodness, she is okay. No more death today but all the animals and people are killed by that weird woman. The Mother she calls herself," Rise said as Kanami begins to wake up from her slumber.
"Rise, thank goodness you are here. Where is Sakura?" Kanami asked.
"Don't worry, you are safe now. The zoo is a mess, a monster attack happened there," Rise said.
"Oh, so that's what was going on upside. Gee, Sakura is so creepy. She knocked me out and took me deeper within the underground section," Kanami said as she hugs Rise to thank her. "Thank you for saving me," Kanami said as she begins to fall asleep.
"No problem, the Lone Stars are going to pay for this," Rise said feeling determined to crush Sakura and her master.
"Yes, this Mother has turned all the animals into monsters and turned the people into orange goo. When she and Sakura show up again, we will take them out," Adi said as Yu and Rise nodded their heads to take Kanami to her hotel room to make her safe to head back home to prepare for their time at the beach.
