Chapter 19: Tower of Reflections
Within a room, Other Yukiko and Other Naoto are watching TV to see the zoo having demonic animals killing off the humans. "This would be problematic but we can't focus on that," Other Naoto said.
"I know, these terrorists using demons is horrible but it's not our business. We need to focus on our goal here in this sleepy town," Other Yukiko said.
"Yes, the tower is coming up soon but we need the core part of our plan to work," Other Naoto said.
"Yes, a pure soul who is needed to activate the demonic seal to protect this world from Chaos. We have the perfect person for this," Other Yukiko shows a photo of Nanako Dojima on her smartphone.
"Cute little thing, too bad we need to use her for this," Other Naoto said as Other Yukiko nodded her head.
"Yes it's sad but it's needed to protect this world. Where is she located now?" Other Yukiko asked.
"I scouted the area and I see she is located within the middle school along with her father. Some sort of meeting with the teachers there to set up her to go to High School next year," Other Naoto said.
"I see, perfect timing. The tower will be used to bait Yu and his team to split them up like last time. Then we will launch an all-out assault on the town," Other Yukiko said as Other Naoto raises her eyebrows at this.
"You sure about this?" she asked.
"Yes, the invasion will be a big distraction on top of the other distraction which is the tower. Then I will move in and steal the girl. It will be easy since she will think I would be her Yukiko," Other Yukiko said.
"Sounds like a plan, who will lead the invasion force?" Other Naoto asked.
"One of the prime demons will take care of it, Demeter come out now," Other Yukiko summons one of her most powerful demons the Greek Goddess of Harvest Demeter.
"Hello there mistress, you need my help?" the little goddess asked.
"Yes I need you to prepare our demons to launch an assault on the town of Inaba to act as a distraction to get our real prize," Other Yukiko said as Demeter nods her little head.
"Sounds like a great plan. Do we attack the humans?" Demeter asked.
"Yes, you need to make it look bad. Once this all blows over they would not even notice what we have done," Yukiko said.
"Of course, you can count on me for the mission," Demeter said.
"Well, Naoto get to the next tower and guard. Divide their attention and get our prize," Other Yukiko said as they prepared the plan.
Elsewhere the morning has come with Nanako heading over to the middle school with her father to do some paperwork there. Yu is using his scooter to deliver some dishes to some customers with spotting another tower within the distance.
"Oh boy, another one," Yu said as he gets a call from Adi.
"Yo, you see this. The fourth one has appeared, I need to gather who I can bring on this one. I will meet you at the location," Adi said as she managed to get Rise, Naoto, and Teddie to come with her.
"Gee, this again. We are having some peace," Rise said on the phone waiting for Adi to come in with her car.
"Gee, I know right? Time for me to shine and stop this madness," Teddie said as Rise gets into the car of Adi to head for the fourth tower.
"Stay focused, you are going to be dealing with the cream of the crop now. Other Chie, Other Naoto, Other Yukiko, and Other Yu are quite powerful compared to the others you fought before. Along with their navigator Taichi who has a special to use others' Personas like puppets with his Persona Geppetto.
"The power to take over someone's Persona like a puppet. It's very scary that another part of yourself gets hijacked by an outside force," Naoto said.
"How is Other Naoto like?" Rise asked.
"Well, she is just as smart as our Naoto but way more ruthless. She is going to rig her tower with traps for sure to weaken us before the meeting," Adi said as they head off to the tower.
"Time to get to that demonic gem and shut that tower down," Yu thought as he finished his orders to head for the tower.
He parked nearby the tower with him going into his Fusion state to head for the tower's entrance. He already sees Adi, Rise, Naoto, and Teddie in their Fusion forms as well. "Glad you are here," Yu said.
"So, you have come with the traitor here to my tower," Other Naoto said with her voice echoing off the walls of the tower.
"Seriously, why do you keep calling her traitor?" Rise asked to be fed up with their name-calling.
"Oh, she didn't tell you about her crazy scheme. About her trying to find a myth, the Cosmic Egg," Other Naoto said as the others are confused by this term.
"Cosmic Egg?" Rise asked.
"Oh, my mission this whole time was to go here and find this Cosmic Egg. Which will solve all our problems," Adi said as Other Naoto is amused by this.
"Still holding onto those childish myths. You abandoned us to chase something that doesn't exist and you're dragging others with you. It's quite pathetic when you think about it," Other Naoto said.
"It's a powerful artifact that allows one to use its power to reshape the universe in your hands or even make a new universe entirely," Adi said as the others looked amazed by this.
"Seriously, Sensei?" Yu asked as he thinks this would solve their problems right now.
"Don't bother. She has tricked people with this for years now. We tried to find this Cosmic Egg but it doesn't exist in the two worlds. You need to let this go, Adi," Other Naoto said.
"No, we can't let our world just die like this. We need to give it a second chance and make a new world for everyone," Adi said.
"No, We will keep going as planned and you will need to kill your delusion along with your life," Other Naoto said.
"As if, I am still going for the Cosmic Egg and the save the worlds. All you are doing is delaying the end with the Chaos. It's not going away with your demonic spell," Adi said.
"Yes, but it will buy us down. Ion can hold back the Chaos for so long now, she needs help to ease her burden," Other Naoto said as the gates of the tower opens. "Come inside, you want to get rid of the gem to depower this tower. Come and get it," Other Naoto said as her voice stopped echoing from the tower.
"The Cosmic Egg, does such a thing exist?" Naoto asked.
"Yes on one of the missions back home, I overhear Demons talking about finding the Cosmic Egg. They wanted to use it to make a universe where they can live without humans getting in the way," Adi said.
"Oh, so that's why you rebel against your people. That's pretty sad," Rise feeling sympathy for her master.
"I wanted to get the power to restore my old world to its original state and get rid of the Chaos saving both worlds from destruction but no one believes me. They think I am crazy and then I went on my own to do this myself until I met you guys and the others," Adi said.
"Oh, this is the plan but it's no different from what we do. Just have blind fate and see what happens, we got your back Sensei," Rise said with a wink.
"Yes at least, we have some plan to find this Cosmic Egg and stop this nonsense," Naoto said.
"Seems like this is the line we need to save the world again," Teddie said.
"Yeah, it's a long shot but it's better than nothing. Come on, let's go inside," Yu said as Adi nodded her head.
"Yeah, thanks, everyone. I have been alone a lot due to thinking this way," Adi said.
"No problem, you helped us and now it's our turn to help you," Rise said.
"I am grateful, come on. Let's take out Other Naoto and get the gem," Adi said as she feels more motivated to find the Cosmic Egg with her young friends. "They are Silly and Naïve but that is why I love these guys. I used to be like that back in the day but there is hope for both our worlds with them by my side," Adi thought as they go into the tower to begin their mission.
Elsewhere Kai and Rei were walking around the Middle School in Inaba for Rei is curious about what human schools are like. "This place is very specious here," Rei said as she is walking beside her brother to see all the students doing summer classes or doing some study sessions.
"Everyone is busy here," Kai said as some of the students take notice of the two weird-looking visitors.
"How are those guys, are they foreign students?" one of the male students wondered.
"Oh my, that guy is so hot and mysterious," one of the girls said.
"How about the girl, she is so adorable," another girl said.
"I know right, she is so cute," a male student said as Kai gives him a nasty look to make them shut up.
"Wish I can go to a human school," Rei said.
"They will be afraid of your powers and what you are?" Kai asked. As the young lady is frowning at this.
"My power to see into the future, to see how they will die," Rei said as she drops to her knees to get a vision giving her a massive headache.
"Hey, you okay?" Kai kneels beside her to see she is in pain. "Damn it," Kai thought as Rei has terror on her face.
"Brother, a girl is in danger," Rei said as Kai is surprised by this.
"Who is in danger?" Kai asked.
"Nanako," she said to remember the name for he remembers her being with Rise and Yu multiple times around the town.
"Oh yeah, those guys from the Floating City are causing trouble again. They need her to activate their demonic spell," Kai said.
"We need to help us, I don't want to see Yu and the others sad," Rei said.
"I see, well we need to find her before they do first," Kai said as Rei said as they go ahead to search for her while the plan is underway.
Elsewhere Yu, Adi, Teddie, Rise, and Naoto are within the tower to see there are no stairs this time but a mirror in front of them. "So, what is the gimmick for this place now?" Rise asked.
"This mirror," Naoto said as they approach the mirror to press against the surface to see it ripple like water.
"This is a portal but we need to go through it if we are going to scale this tower," Adi said as Yu goes through first to check through. She noticed Neko demons waiting for them.
"Oh, little mice within our mistress's domain. Time to eat," Neko spit out fireballs from their mauls with Yu summoning Black Frost to drain the fireballs into himself.
"Time to freeze and die, Hee Ho," Black Frost said with an evil laugh launching Glacial Blast to freeze the demon cats. Yu uses his sword to smash the frozen demons to scatter them into red ice.
"All clear," Yu said as the others comes into the room to see the dead demons.
"Gee, there are going to be all sorts of traps here," Adi said as they see another mirror nearby to head inside to be hit with intense gravity pinning them to the floor.
"Oh crap," Rise said.
"My limbs are so heavy," Teddie said as no one but Adi can get up due to Adi using her gravity magic to null her body to the effects.
"Clever, I will find the switch for this. I will be right back," she makes her body less dense to float towards another room where there are weird-looking plant demons called Spitters latched onto the walls.
"How you avoid our trap, doesn't matter. Kill the traitor," the demons spit out blobs of acid with her using her swift movements to get out of the path of the attacks. She tosses orbs of gravity to strike the demons and blast them violently apart.
"Gravity Well," she tosses an orb to entrap a group of Demons to rip into them and then make the dome implode crushing everything inside. Then a huge rock appears to drop from the ceiling and roll toward Adi.
She shifts her body to be more dense as she increases the strength of her muscles via gravity magic. She digs her heels into the floor and raises her hands in front to grab the fast-moving rock. The boulder is stopped by Adi's raw strength then uses a Gravity Kick to break the big rock into pieces.
Several Neko Demons appear trying to cut and slash her but her increased strength allows her to break and kick them reducing them to bloody messes scattered across the walls and floor.
She noticed a switch to turn it off with the intense gravity disappearing from the rooms. Yu and the others were freed from the trap to walk toward Adi to see if she is okay.
"Good work Sensei, felt like my body was going to turn into pudding," Rise said.
"That would be pretty good like now," Teddie said as they go through another mirror to see something weird as happened. Yu is alone with the others scattered in other rooms spread out within the demonic tower.
"Oh man, this is a drag," Yu said as he is holding his sword to go deep within the tower trying to find another mirror to get out of there.
"Time to die human," a Howler appears for the demonic humanoid rushes towards him. He uses his sword to slice him in half with him seeing more of these demons trying to gang up on him.
"Yoshitsune go," Yu calls his Persona for the two swordsmen to come in to hack and slash enemies leaving behind a bloodbath. Severed limbs, guts, and blood spread all over the place.
"Time my blade, Bloom Slash," the Persona gathers Nature energy within his sword to unleash several waves of energy crescents made of nature energy to slice up the demons.
"Leaf Storm," Yu commanded as Yoshitsune gathers tons of sharp leaves around him to then unleash them onto his targets to rip and tear into a bunch of demons overwhelming them.
"Alice, come out," Yu said as he switches out to his cute little ghost girl. "Wipe them out," Yu commanded.
"Die for Me," Alice points her finger to call a horde of teddy bears to strike at the demons to instant kill all of them clearing the hallway.
Then Alice flings a Megalodon spell at a group of demons to wipe them out easily to see another mirror but it's being guarded by Spitters and Seekers. Yu throws bolts of lightning to zap the demon plant turrets with him rolling away from the dive-bombing Seekers.
"Don't let him through the mirror," the demon said as Yu zaps the incoming monsters with Alice unleashing spears of darkness to impale the floating beasts. Yu is splitting them in half with him deploying Bloody Howl to tear enemies apart.
"Cleo, Zero Gravity," Yu said as Cleopatra appears to let out a wave of gravity to lift the rest of the enemies into the air helplessly. Yu swiftly chops them to bits with his sword and blasts them with electric and dark spells.
"Yes, we took care of those demons. We should get going master," Cleopatra said as Yu nods his head to hop through the mirror.
Elsewhere Rise appear within an area filled with water with Rise creating a bubble around her head to give her air. "Oh boy, I learned my lesson from before," Rise said as she puts out jets of water from her feet to swim swiftly through the water-filled rooms trying to find the mirror to get out of there.
Then she detected demon fishes Haggers to see Rise in her Fusion form ready to attack. "Kill the human for our mistress," the demon said as they swim towards her. Rise fires a ball of light to slam into a group of enemies to blast them apart with blood coloring the water red.
"Not these fuckers again," Rise said as she gathers water into a sphere to entrap the demon fish to crush them inside spreading guts and blood into the room. She is swimming forward trying to find a way out to see more fish trying to kill her.
"Pearl," she tosses an orb of light to blast apart the beasts to jet through the water gracefully to go into another room to see a Sea Serpent Demon to see it's a much bigger threat than a few fishes. "Oh get," she lets out a Bright Lance to gather light into a spear and lob it at the beast stabbing onto its side.
"That will not best me so easily," the Sea Serpent is unleashing a wave of dark energy that knocks Rise away. The beast lunges at Rise to score a hit to send her crashing into a wall as she summons a hard wall of water to block another lunge attack and let the water wall explode knocking back the demon.
"Mega Bubble," Rise gathers two big bubbles above each palm. "Eat this," she tosses the giant bubbles to slam into the beast but then let out smaller bubblers which seek out the target as well. This combined assault overpowered the demon leaving behind bruises and sections of flesh loss leaking blood into the water.
"Photon Mines," Rise set several light energy mines around her making the beast touch one to take a powerful explosion blasting away part of its face. "Holy Lance," Rise is casting down a row of bright spears to stab throughout the body of the serpent. She tosses a bigger Holy Lance to impale the head of the demon killing it instantly.
"Finally, time to get out of here," Rise said as she finds a mirror to exit out of it.
Adi and Teddie are in a room with Adi sitting on Teddie's face. "Gee that was rough," Adi said as she looks down to see the blondie covered by her ass. "Oh, sorry Teddie," she said as she is gets off him for he has a stupid look on his face.
"Wow Sensei, your butt is firm yet soft," Teddie said liking how big and soft her rear is.
"Teddie, please get your head in the game instead of my ass," Adi said to scorn him like a mother.
"Sorry madam, I was distracted but I will not fail you," Teddie said as Adi helped him up.
"Just don't do it again okay blondie," Adi said as the two go through the halls to try to find another mirror to go through.
"Sensei, more bad guys," Teddie said as a group of Howlers appeared.
"Who are you calling the bad guys? We are trying to stop the Chaos while you are with a lady who is crazy," one of the Howlers said.
"Getting the Cosmic Egg will doom this world," the demon said.
"What choice do I have, putting up a shield will delay the inevitable. Better to rewrite the universe and get rid of the Chaos for good," Adi said.
"There is a price to pay with that kind of power," Howler said as Teddie is confused by this.
"What are they talking about?" Teddie asked.
"Nonsense," Adi said as she lets out a wave of gravity to make them float into the air with Teddie blasting them with ice magic.
"Glacial Blast," Teddie unleashed bolts of cold to freeze them into ice statues. Adi uses a blast of gravity to scatter them into icy pieces with Teddie casting a wall of ice to block a wave of energy to protect them.
"Thanks, Ted," Adi said as she kicks the ice wall to slide towards the demons to catch and then crush them against the wall using the weight of the ice wall to do it.
"Good move madam," Teddie said as they see more demons but these look different.
"Don't let them get further," a raspy voice said as they find demons called Raptors which looks like demonic-looking raptors covered with feathers and weird symbols on their bodies.
"They are so big," Teddie said as the Raptors were about 6 feet tall and muscular able to cut a human being with ease with their big claws and sharp teeth.
"We can deal with them," Adi said as she blasts them with gravity waves to knock them away but some of them leap over her attack to kick her into a wall. She dodges incoming slashes to crave into the walls leaving deep gashes which could be fatal.
"Chill out featherbrain," Teddie blasts them with ice magic to freeze them with Adi following with her gravity magic to easily break them apart into red ice shreds.
"Keep setting them up Ted and I will scatter them to pieces," Adi said as the two worked together to take out the large dinosaur-like Demons. Teddie casts ice spells to freeze them and slow them down while Adi uses her Gravity spells to break them down to pieces.
"Vortex Kick," Adi floats into the high to charge up a black hole and is about to kick it at the frozen enemies. She kicks the vortex to mix with the ice to trigger an elemental explosion to wipe out the remaining enemies there.
"Senpai, that was so cool," Teddie said being very impressed.
"Well, that is nothing. They don't call me the Gravity Queen for nothing," Adi feeling proud of her training and experience.
"You were not going all out before?" Teddie asked.
"If I did, someone would be hurt. I can toss mini black holes, not a nice way to die," Adi said as they find the mirror to get out of there.
Elsewhere Naoto is on the floor to hold onto her handgun to check the ammo count which is all 6 rounds inside. "Oh good, I need to get to the others," Naoto said as she feels a psychic link with Rise.
"Hey Naoto, are you okay?" Rise asked within her mind.
"Yeah, where are you?" Naoto asked.
"We are here in a single room, we all got out of the traps from the mirrors. Everyone else is here but you are not here yet," Rise said.
"Good, I will be there soon. I need an exit," Naoto said as Rise uses her Navi powers to map out the area.
"Oh boy, this is rough. You got a few rooms but they are filled with enemies. Beware of danger," Rise warned.
"I will do my best," Naoto said as she holds onto her gun to rush through the hallways to see Spitters latch onto the ceilings and walls to shoot dark energy at her. She rolls under the energy beams to fire a few shots to blast the demonic turrets with nuclear bullets to take them out.
"Those are Spitters, very annoying. They act like turrets," Rise said.
"Yes, I need to be careful," Naoto said as she reloads her gun to see more Spitters trying to kill her with acid and dark beams.
Naoto is rolling out of the way to place shots to take out the demon turrets with a demon called a Defender who is a humanoid wielding an extra tough shield. "Keep her busy while I bash her to death," the defender said as he rushes towards Naoto.
Naoto fires her shots but nothing got through the shield. "One Hit Kill," she powers up her next shot to unleash a powerful attack to slam into the shield to make the demon recoil to leave it vulnerable. She follows up with a powerful nuclear bullet to take out the Defender.
She takes out the rest of the Spitters as she goes to find the mirror to leap through it to meet with the others. "Thank goodness, you are okay Naoto," Rise said to be happy her friend is safe.
"Likewise, we seem to be close to the top of this place," Naoto said.
"Yes, we are close and we can get back home," Adi said as the four went into a large chamber to see a red laser on Yu's head.
"Baby, watch out," Rise cast a magic barrier to block the incoming bullets to see Other Naoto wielding a rifle to be on top of a ledge on the wall.
"So, you managed to get through my tower. Now you have to face me and my Guardian Demon, come, Feeder," she said as a large demonic gecko appears on the wall clinging to it with his webbed feet.
"Of course, mistress. We will deal with the crazed traitor and her lap dogs," Other Naoto said as she prepares to set up the field of battle. Feeder pours out a cloud of purple smoke filling up the room with Naoto teleporting to another ledge to begin picking targets with the gun scope.
"Gee, this is poison gas. Get in the barrier," Rise cast a magic barrier to protect them from the gas.
"Shield Breaker," Other Naoto fires an empowered bullet with enough power to scatter the barrier letting them get washed away by the poison gas inflicting them.
"Damn it," Rise is throwing up on the floor with the poison slowing her down.
"One Hit Kill," Other Naoto fires a powerful energy bullet to slam into Rise to knock her into a wall doing some serious damage. "Heat Riser," Other Naoto powers herself up to begin firing rapid shots from her scoped rifle.
"Shit, Seth. Tornado," Yu summons the black dragon to conjure a twister to suck up all the gas into it. Seth flings the poison-infused tornado toward Other Naoto.
She teleports away to dodge the attack to be on top of another ledge. "Power Shot," she supercharges her bullet with raw energy to fire right at Seth's head to pierce right through it taking the Persona out.
"Damn it," Yu said as Seth returns to his card which has been greyed out not allowing him to be used for a while.
"Sunburst," Naoto sets up a nuclear spell to set up an orb of nuclear energy in the middle of the chamber shooing out orbs of energy seeking out all targets.
The Feeder uses his tongue to latch onto Teddie to swing him into a wall to get hit by several nuclear bolts to damage him further. Everyone is dodging incoming atomic bursts with Teddie casting an ice barrier to block incoming energy bolts.
"Gee, Gravity Well," Adi cast a dome of gravity to pin down the demon on the wall.
"Thunder Reign," Yu tosses a big lightning bolt to slam into the beast to trigger several strong lightning bolts while Adi follows up by making the gravity dome implode doing even more damage.
The demonic gecko falls onto the floor with Naoto and Rise hitting it with spells with Teddie using healing magic to help the team clear them of poison and other injuries.
"Eat this," Rise uses a water whip to rip into the demon's body to blast it with orbs of light. The Feeder spins around to knock them all away with Rise using an Aqua Laser to score a major hit. Rise punches a hole through the demon being able to kill it.
The nuclear bolts destroy the ice wall with Other Naoto shooting the orb to make it explode for they got caught within the blast. Rise managed to cast a barrier to protect them as Yu destroyed one of the ledges in the room.
"Good idea, they can't use those as a sniping position," Adi said to destroy another ledge with a gravity spell.
"No!" Other Naoto is losing spots to snipe from as she teleports to the last one but she gets hit with a Gravity Well to get caught in an implosion knocking her onto the ground. Adi grips her with a gravity field to destroy all her limbs to then pins her onto the floor.
"It's over, you loss here," Adi said as Other Naoto is smirking at them.
"Well, my job is done. We are almost done here," Other Naoto said as Adi uses her gravity wave to crush her skull killing her instantly.
"A bit brutal," Rise said.
"Well, we got the gem at this point, let's get out of here," Adi said as she goes into the room to take off the demonic gem to depower down the tower.
Yu sees his phone ringing to pick it up. "Dude, Inaba is under attack. There are so many demons here, everywhere," Yosuke said as he is working with the others to hold off the hordes.
Everyone is shocked by this. "What the hell is going on here?" Rise asked.
"They never attack the town even after all this time, why now?" Naoto wondered.
"No time to lose, we need to defend the town against the horde of Demons. This is going to get worse, be prepared," Adi said as they rushed out of the tower to head back to the besieged town.
Demeter is leading the charge with all the demons causing a lot of damage to draw away from Other Yukiko's true objective to steal Nanako away from the town for their ultimate plan.
