Chapter 21: Siege of Inaba Pt 2
Elsewhere within Okina City, Alice is getting reports on her smartphone about the demon attack on Inaba for she is deeply worried about Yosuke and the others. "Goodness, what is happening?" she wondered as she gives Yosuke a call. "Hey baby, are you there?" she asked as the sounds of battle were popping up on the speakers.
"Oh, hey there, babe. What a surprise," Yosuke said.
"Where are you, you know your town is under attack by monsters. It's all over the news," Alice said.
'Yeah, we are heading for the shelters right now. It's crazy over here," Yosuke said as Alice noticed he is acting very calm despite all the craziness happening.
"Okay, be safe out there," Alice said.
"You too," Yosuke said as Alice cuts it off.
"Gee, I have been dating him for a while now. He seems to be hiding something from me, it's been like that ever since these monsters showed up. He is involved with them or fighting them," she thought as she shakes her head in disbelief. "Yosuke fighting monsters, no. He is a bit of a goofball to be a fighter but why do I feel like I am missing something," she thought as she goes down the street with people getting nervous and trying to get in contact with their friends and family who are dealing with monsters attacking their town.
"Hey man, did you hear about those masked warriors?" one of the guys asked his friends. Alice is standing nearby pretending she is listening to music in her earbuds.
"Well did you see all those battle scenes? It's like something out of an anime man. It's so cool," the second guy said.
"So, they are not just a rumor. They can fight those monsters," the third guy said.
"Yeah, there are videos about them online. Tossing powerful spells and slicing up enemies, it's so cool," the first guy said.
"It's not cool with the people dying out there," the second guy said.
"Hey, why does the military or the cops do anything?" the third guy asked.
"Well, seems like Inaba is in the hicks in the middle of the mountains. All they can do is to contain the situation," the first guy said.
"That is fuck up but Inaba isn't of high concern. It's not Tokyo or Kyoto," the second guy said.
"At least those masked guys are putting up one hell of a fight," the third guy said as Alice wondered about those masked warriors.
"Come to think of it, everything they show up. Yosuke seems to be around that area when they come up," Alice wondered as she gets a call from her folks.
"Dear, I need to you leave the city," her mother said on the phone.
"Why Mom, what is happening?" Alice asked.
"There are some weird people by our house. I have a bad feeling about them. Please leave," her mother said as the line gets cut by a set of screams.
This sends terror down Alice's mind. "Oh shit, I need to find out what the hell is happening," she said as she runs back to her house to check out what is happening.
Back with Yu's mother who is looking at the horrors of Inaba being attacked by monsters. "This is insane," she said as she calls her son who is heading for Demeter to fight a goddess.
"Hey Mom, what's up?" Yu asked.
"Don't what's up me. Your town is under attack by monsters, where are you now?" Yu's Mother asked sounding frightful about the situation.
"Well, I and Rise are heading for a shelter until this blows over. I will let you know when I am safe," Yu said.
"Okay, this is crazy. I need to check with your father to make sure not to drive nearby there. Be safe honey," Yu's Mother said.
"Of course, I will talk with you later," Yu said.
"Okay be safe honey," Yu's mother said to cut off the phone line.
"Mom would be pissed if she found out about my powers," Yu said.
"Well, if we deal with this problem, she doesn't have to find out. Hey Teddie, are you okay?" Adi asked as he is missing his bear suit but still has his fusion form intact in his human form.
"No bigger, I am ready to go," Teddie said.
"Good, we are going to deal with a goddess, I hope you are ready?" Adi asked as they arrived at the park to see it covered in groves of trees.
"So, you have come to see little o' me," a cute, serene voice appears within their mind. "I hope you like what I did with the place. I breathe life into my children," the female voice said.
"Demeter?" Adi asked.
"Of course, it's the traitor. Seeking knowledge, no human such have. There is a reason why no one such finds the Cosmic Egg," Demeter said.
"That is my only chance to save our worlds," Adi said as Demeter doesn't believe her.
"I think you are telling them the whole truth or the better reasoning is you don't understand how the Cosmic Egg works. But it doesn't matter, you will all be dead within my field of harvest. Please, my children, be gentle with them," Demeter said in a soft motherly tone which almost sounds very creepy.
They hear disturbing moans all over the place. Chie is spooked out by this. "Gee this is giving me the creeps," Chie said.
"Come on Chie, it's not like we are going to be fighting talking trees or something," Yukiko said as then something grabs Yukiko to hold her up in the air.
"Oh great, you jink it Yukiko," Rise said as Yukiko is upside down with her trying to pull back her skirt.
"Don't look," Yukiko feeling embarrassed not wanting to look at her butt.
"Sorry Yukiko, there isn't much to look at," Adi said bluntly.
"Sensei!" Yukiko protested as she got whipped onto the ground to see several trees coming to life with scary faces etched into their tree trunks.
"We much kill you to please Lady Demeter," the demonic tree said as they begin to rush at them in mass.
"Oh great," Yukiko shoots out fireballs to blast them apart but they heal their wounds. "That's not good," Yukiko said as a root slammed into her to launch her into a tree which binds her into the bark. "Lava Plume," Yukiko calls forth a pillar of flames to burn away the tree holding her while resisting the damage from her spell.
"Gee, they are getting restless huh," Kanji cast down lightning bolts to stun them with Naoto blasted them away with explosive shots.
"Your children are creepy as hell," Rise said as she is tears them apart with light and water spells.
"That is not very nice dear, my harvest will be treating you properly," Demeter said.
"That motherly stuff is not sitting well with me," Yosuke said as he backflips away from a demonic tree to slice it up with wind crescents. "Tornado," he conjures a twister of fierce winds to tear through the groups of living trees.
"How cute, you know some wind magic. When you see me, I will teach you properly, human," Demeter said in a soft tone.
"No thanks," Yosuke said as the gang are fending off the living trees with one of them using their roots to strike Chie to knock her away.
"Gee, that smarts," Chie flips back onto her feet to use Grave to crave up the trees with hard stone spikes erupting from the ground.
Kanji blocks incoming roots and branches with his shield while bashing the ground unleashing a wave of lightning to zap away nearby living trees in front of him.
Naoto is rolling and dodging while she is shooting her nuclear-infused rounds to wipe out each living tree. "Cosmic Flare," she summons a ball of energy to gather in the middle of a grove of living trees to vaporize them via explosion.
Yukiko is dancing around the roots and branches using her fire-infused paper fan to slice and cut scorned living trees. She tosses fireballs to peppering into the demonic trees to burn them away but some of the trees regain their health.
Marie conjures pillars of light to purge several living trees while unleashing beams of energy to crave through a group of demonic trees. One of the trees spits out a wave of wooden needles with Marie conjuring a barrier to bounce them back destroying the trees with their moves.
Teddie is freezing the trees frozen with Adi scattering them to pieces with a wave of gravity. Teddie lets out a blast of cold air to slow down the movements of the living trees.
"This is getting annoying," Rise said as she tosses light orbs to blast the trees apart while Yu is using his empowered sword to chop the trees in half.
"Time to give them a breather of poison," Demeter said as the trees begin to spread Demeter's special aliment spell Accursed Poison which infects all of them making the group very sluggish and weak while being deeply ill.
"Goodness, what is wrong with us?" Yukiko asked to spew bile onto the grass from her lips.
"Not only the poison is making you very ill but it seeps away your strength and speed. Making you more vulnerable to my beauties," Demeter said as the living tree swings its branch to knock Yosuke away to crash into a bed of roots to grab onto him to press into him.
"Oh crap," Yosuke said as he is getting the life squeezed out of him.
"Shit Yosuke," Adi said as she gets pinned down by roots to get slammed by branches. A group of trees binds Yu with their roots to begin seeping his life force slowly.
"Senpai, damn trees," Rise said as she blasted them away with a wave of water to let go of him. "We need to clean out these trees to stop the spread of this poison. I will scan and see which ones we need to target," Rise said as she pulls up her visor to check for the sources of the poison.
"Hurry up," Chie said as everyone is getting pushed by the living trees with their roots and branches seeping their life force with each blow.
Rise finds several trees that are spreading the magical poison. "Got you, Pearl," Rise gathers orbs of light to seek out the targets to strike down each one of them. The mist of poison gets lessened with each destroyed target. "Get in the barrier," Rise summons a magical barrier to shield them from the poison. "Salvation," Rise casts a healing spell that restores their health and removes the position but they still feel weak and sluggish. "Dekunda," she casts a spell that removes all the debuffs off their bodies restoring them to full fighting strength.
"Thanks, Rise," Yu said.
"No problem, sweetheart. Time to clear these trees out, Tidal Wave," Rise unleashes a wash of powerful surges of water to sweep all the remaining trees away to knock them onto the ground. "Honey now," Rise said as Yu summons Black Frost to unleash a wave of cold air to freeze them up in place.
Adi powers up energy into her hands to let out a wave of gravity to smash them into pieces clearing them out.
"Very interesting you managed to overcome that by dumb luck," Demeter said with her voice echoing within their minds.
"It's called teamwork, I bet you never heard of it," Rise said in a mocking tone.
"Oh yeah, your teamwork did so well against my poison which is at its weakest state right now," Demeter said as everyone is surprised by this.
"Seriously, that is not the worst of it," Yosuke said as he doesn't want to be sick again.
"How about you face us? Man to man or goddess in this case," Kanji said as Demeter giggles at this.
"Very well if you want to die so quickly. I will grace you with my presence before dread sets in," Demeter said as she teleports in front of them while she strikes a very graceful pose. "Feast your eyes on the wisdom and beauty of a goddess," Demeter said as everyone beside Adi was underwhelmed by her tiny figure.
"Are you serious, this goddess is a Loli," Yosuke said.
"She seems more cute than threatening," Yukiko said.
"I can touch those cute little cheeks," Rise said as the group beside Adi is not taking her seriously.
"Guys quit it," Adi said as Demeter is pouting at them.
"I am a Goddess, and I deserve respect. You ungrateful humans," Demeter said as the team is not taking her seriously.
"Is the little goddess upset, you need your nap time," Yosuke said as he approaches her with Adi noticing Demeter's eyes glowing red.
"Well time to put you all in your place," Demeter said as Adi backs away. Demeter summons a huge pillar of stone to raise out of the ground to knock Yosuke away. The others were shocked to see this pillar towering over them with an even bigger stone tower coming up with Demeter on top of it with a dark smile.
"Oh shit," Kanji said as Demeter uses her psychokinesis to crush the 500-foot-tall stone pillar to surge up a psychic storm with her mind-controlling thousands of pieces of rock around the big pillar.
"Be crushed," Demeter flings tons of rocks in their direction. Yu and the others dodge and fend off the rapid barrage of rocks but are quickly overwhelmed by the fierce assault. "Submit," Demeter makes all the rocks explode like bombs weakening every team member.
"Damn it, too many to catch with my gravity magic," Adi said as she is getting upset with the others. "Don't underestimate her, despite her size. She is still a goddess, get ready," Adi said as Demeter is summoning her demonic power for the region is shaking from her godly might with the sky darkening, the clouds twisting and all of them feel intense pressure making them feel unnerved.
The park is coming alive with her godly presence. "This is the power of a god," Naoto said as she is unsure about their chances against this little goddess.
"Looks like I need to dirty my hands. I hope you can survive long enough to play with me," Demeter said with a childlike smile before she is going to unleash hell onto the team.
Within the middle school, Other Yukiko pretending to be Yukiko is leading Mr. Dojima and Nanako away to be turned around. She has no fear since she controlled the demon horde herself without them knowing it.
"Wait a minute, this isn't where the shelter is," Mr. Dojima said.
"I know a place where we can be safe," Other Yukiko said.
"We need to keep going Dad," Nanako said as Mr. Dojima thinks this is a bit weird.
"Wait a minute, I recall you being in the Amagi Inn before the attacks happened," Mr. Dojima said as Other Yukiko stops to turn her head to be hiding her anger at the man.
"Well, I went off to go for a walk and I was near the school when the attacks happened," Other Yukiko said as Mr. Dojima doesn't buy this.
"You can't be serious. Yukiko is pretty dutiful in her duties. Who are you?" Mr. Dojima demanded to see through her lies.
Other Yukiko just lets out a sigh. "You should have listened to me," Other Yukiko summons her sword and drives her blade through Mr. Dojima's chest with blood pouring onto the floor.
"Dad no!" Nanako shouted as one of her brother's friends is trying to kill her dad. "Why Yukiko?" Nanako asked as she backed away from the bloodied Other Yukiko.
She tears off her blue dress to reveal a red and blue tight-fitting combat suit. "I need you for the spell. Sadly, your dad got in the way. Come with me," Other Yukiko said as Nanako shakes her head.
"No, you killed my dad. You are not Yukiko," Nanako said as Other Yukiko grabs her throat to easily lift her into the air.
"Damn right, I will never be a weakling like her. You are needed for something grand. Your life will be used to save the world, don't resist," Other Yukiko said.
"Let the girl go," Kai said wielding a big sword in his hands.
"Oh, the Knight of Ion has appeared before me," Other Yukiko said as she can sense how powerful he is which is making her excited for a fight.
"I have not had that title in a long time," Kai said.
"Of course, you abandoned your duty to be with your sister," Other Yukiko said as Kai summons a gust of wind to knock her away to catch Nanako to put her to the side.
"Get out of here now, I will keep her busy," Kai clashes with O. Yukiko via blades to exchange blows.
"A former demon hunter becoming a loving brother for his dying sister. Sounds so sappy," O. Yukiko said as they clash blades with her slipping through his guard to slash into his arm.
"I left that life behind me. My sister's health is what is important to me," Kai said as he shoves her away to trade blows with the woman. Each strike being traded shakes up the whole school and grounds around them. "Sword Beam," he thrusts his sword to unleash a beam of raw energy with O. Yukiko using a barrier to block the energy attack.
"Well, I know you are trying to unleash the Chaos into the world to preserve your sister's life. Are you insane?" O. Yukiko demanded as she unleash waves of flames with Kai blocking them away with his blade.
"I have lived for so long and I keep seeing her living and dying. Over and over again, I got tried it and now I am going to make a world where time will seize to exist. A world where my sister can live in peace," Kai said.
"Well, you are batshit crazy," Other Yukiko comes to slash at him several times to unleash bolts of darkness to knock him backward. Kai couches under the waves of black blots of energy to slam his blade to make the floor in front of him collapse making Other Yukiko fall into the first floor to follow after her.
Nanako is in shock and in tears looming over her dying father to hold him tight. "Daddy no," she said as Mr. Dojima was coughing up blood feeling his life slipping away.
"Sweetheart, I am sorry. I wasn't always the best father to you. I need you to listen to me. I don't think I have much time left," Mr. Dojima said as Nanako is holding his hand which is still pretty warm.
"Dad, what is it?" Nanako asked.
"I need you to find a safe place and then find Yu and Rise. I trust them to keep you safe," Mr. Dojima said as Nanako is feeling her father's hand grip getting weaker.
"I will. I will find Big Brother and Big Sister," she said as the tears from her eyes can't be stopped.
"I love you Nanako, you have grown to be smart and beautiful like your mother. I am so proud of you," Mr. Dojima said.
"I love you, Dad, please stay with me," Nanako pleaded to see her father losing light within his eyes and his grip becoming nonexistent. "Dad, Dad. No!" Nanako wants to scream that her father is dead in her arms but there is anger swelling within her. She is angry about her being too weak to save her father.
"What now?" Nanako questioned as she felt something in her bag which is her Evoker that Adi gave her during the summer festival. "This thing is a luck charm, some lucky charm. I wonder," Nanako said as she wants to avenge her father's death.
"Do you wish to gain the strength to make your father proud?" a strong female voice said as it sounds like a more mature version of her voice.
"Who is this?" she asked within her mind.
"I am you, your other self. Your Persona dwelling within you. Waiting to be unleashed. Do you want to dwell into weakness?" Nanako's Persona asked.
"No, I want to take down the one who killed my father," Nanako said.
"Very well. Use that tool to summon my power. Place it on your head and pull the trigger, then call my name Nanako," her Persona said.
"Power to avenge my father," Nanako pulls the gun to place it on her forehead with her eyes flashing yellow to meet her Shadow for a moment. "Go Artemis," Nanako shouted firing the gun on herself to feel her head recoil to the side to be overwhelmed with power.
A blue glow covers her body for a centaur-like figure appears behind her. "I am Thou. Thou art I. I am Artemis the Goddess of the Hunt. As your mask, I will guide you through the forest of lies within this world and beyond," Artemis said.
"Thank you, we need to get out of here," Nanako said as Artemis knells before her to let her ride her back.
"We need to make haste. I am sorry we need to leave our father behind," Artemis said as she feels all of Nanako's feelings about her father's death.
"Yes, I need to find my big bro and big sis. They are the only family I got left here," Nanako said with a sorrowful tone. Artemis goes to pick up Mr. Dojima's body in her arms. Nanako gets comfortable on her Persona's back and rides off through the school to head outside.
O. Yukiko is clashing with Kai as he swings his sword to unleash a barrage of flaming crescents which tear up the hallway leaving burn marks in his wake. Kai morphs his blade into a pair of gauntlets and shin guards to rush in to bash O. Yukiko onto her chest.
"Bullet Punch," he is rapidly punching her body to hit her over 50 times in a blink of an eye. He then kicks her in the head to knock her through a wall.
"I see, you have a morphing sword," O. Yukiko said as she shakes off the damage to resume fighting him. She cast a spell to unleash Aqua Laser to punch through the school's walls to slam into Kai knocking him across the hallway but gets back up quickly.
"A valuable piece of kit from my days as a Demon Hunter," Kai said as he slams his fist into the floor unleashing a wave of earth spikes to cut through the floor.
O. Yukiko backflips away from the attack as she is slicing up incoming earth spikes. She uses her Null Magic to cloak her blade with this and easily negates any spell Kai can throw at her.
Kai transforms his weapon into a shield to summon a barrier of energy to block her path but O. Yukiko cuts down it with ease using Null Magic. She slams into his shield to shove him away as she slashes into his body a few times to blast him close range with a fireball to knock him away. The shield took the hit as he tosses it like a disc to get deflected by Other Yukiko but gets slammed into the face with Kai's big foot.
"Oh shit, she is not here," Other Yukiko said to quickly regain her balance.
"You are not getting near her, my sister foresees it," Kai said as O. Yukiko sighs at this.
"The price to pay to see into the future. Speaking of which," Other Yukiko snaps her fingers to summon three Demons onto the field. "Meet the Sisters of Fate. Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos," Other Yukiko said as she is surrounded by three beautiful women in different colored bodysuits.
"Our mistress wants us to make quick work of this fellow," Clotho said as she and her sisters prepare to fight which Kai is biting more than he can chew.
"Four at once, I am going to need to step up for this battle. I can't die until I make a better world for my sister," Kai is powering up with demonic power to brace for a tough.
"What you seek is the destruction of the current world order. We foresee your fate and it will lead the world to ruin. Die," Atropos said as the four go engaged in combat with Kai getting into a combat stance to fight this powerful team.
Elsewhere Yu and others are engaging with the overwhelming powerful might of the goddess Demeter. "Thunderous Rend," Yu powers up his blade but Demeter puts up a barrier to block his move while shooting back with a blast of light to knock him away.
Marie is raining arrows of light with Demeter simply tanking the hits leaving her barely hurt. "You need some strong spells false goddess to beat me," Demeter raises her hands to use psychokinesis to stun Marie in place. "Earthy Fist," Demeter conjures the earth nearby to form into a large hand to punch Marie to press her down hard onto the grass leaving behind a crater.
"Gee, you are becoming annoying," Yosuke said as he summons a tornado to hit Demeter but it only pushes her a bit slightly.
"So, your Persona resists Wind magic. I have a surprise for you Yosuke," Demeter said with a cute smile.
"Like what?" Yosuke asked to brace for any tricks.
"Your own medicine, Killing Wind," Demeter said as Yosuke laughs at this.
"What are you idiot, my Persona can tank that wind spell easily," Yosuke gets cocky and eats crows fast for the spell connects and tears his body a nice one. "Oh crap, why doesn't hurt so bad," Yosuke said as he is slashed multiple times by sharp winds until he suffers severe damage and collapses onto the ground.
"Yosuke," Chie said as everyone else besides Adi are confused by this.
"Floral Gust," Demeter conjures a storm of sharp leaves to assault them from all directions. Rise tries to put up a barrier but a small rock erupts from the ground to knock her into the air. "Aeroblast," Demeter charges wind energy above her head in a demonic circle. "Go," Demeter said while striking a cute pose to unleash a huge beam of wind energy to hit Rise to send her flying into the park forest.
"Rise, damn it," Yu said as Naoto is confused by this.
"Why did Demeter bypass Yosuke's natural resistance to wind spell?" Naoto asked.
"Oh, that's easy. Killing Wind is a piercing move. Any move or spell with a pierce effect allowing them to bypass any resistances or shields they match," Adi said as others were dumbfounded by this.
"That is cheating," Kanji said.
"It's not, I got a few piercing gravity spells myself but when I need it," Adi said as they are dodging incoming falling rubble.
"Thorny Whip," Demeter conjures a huge vine out of the ground that sweeps up Yu's entire team to knock them all into trees. They get bonded into the living trees with Demeter preparing another Aeroblast.
"Oh, you're vulnerable to Wind Kanji, how lucky for me. Eat this," Demeter fires another large beam of wind to slam Kanji taking a lot of damage.
"Honey no!" Naoto screamed as Kanji falls onto the ground. "Please someone heal him," Naoto said as she lets out a blast of nuclear energy to burn away the tree holding her down. She is shooting at the Goddess who is blocking her shots with a barrier.
"Seems like you are a newt. Impaler's Glory," Demeter's eyes glow blue with her smirk on her face. Adi has a bad feeling about this.
"Naoto get out of the way," Adi said as Naoto is firing her shots while barely dodging fierce winds, sharp vines, and rock spikes.
"Fool, Dazzle Ray," Demeter uses a Bless spell to point her finger at Naoto to unleash a small light beam from her fingertip to nail Naoto in the chest to punch right through it.
"Naoto!" Yukiko shouted as she sees a small bloody hole in her back. Naoto spits a lot of blood out of her mouth falling onto the grass face first.
"Oh, I missed her heart. She is so lucky is she," Demeter mocks her foolish charge.
"This is not a game," Yukiko casts Salvation to let out a bright light which sweeps her whole team to bring them back to fighting shape.
"Oh, goddamn it, I got nailed with one hand," Yosuke uses a Wind Block to give him added protection against Wind spells. "You are not going to catch me off guard again," Yosuke said as Demeter has an impish smile.
"Such a silly human, Killing Wind," Demeter casts her a spell again and Yosuke is surprised again while being ripped to pieces by the sharp winds making her pass out from sheer pain again.
"Not again," Yosuke said as his body is covered with bloody cuts and him coughing blood onto the grass.
"I told you, that is not going to work. Pierce can go through all resistances and shields like Wind Block with ease," Adi said as she is bending gravity to avoid the onslaught of spells. Demeter is making it very hard to come up with a counterattack.
Rise comes back to scan Demeter to be surprised at what she sees. "Damn it, she resists every elemental spell but neutral to Physical and Gun moves," Rise said as she notes she wields Nature, Wind, Earth, Light, Psychokinesis and Almighty spells.
"This is crazy," Marie said as she is dodging and weaved but got nailed by pierced empowered Dazzy Ray which negates her Persona's null bless. "Damn it," Marie said as she wipes the blood off her lip as she heals herself to keep fighting back.
"There must be a weakness to exploit," Teddie said as he is putting up ice walls but they get broken by big vines and wind blasts.
Yukiko and Yu are burning incoming Nature spells and living trees with fire spells. "Black Frost, Blazing Hell. Burning Petals," both combined their fire spells to sweep across the forest to burn away the nature in front of them.
"How reckless, how dare you burn away this lovely forest," Demeter makes a huge stone wall appear out of the ground to block the combined spell but managed to break the stone barrier. She uses a Tornado to counter this as her powerful wind spell absorbs the fire spell causing a raging twister to head for Yu and Yukiko.
Yu orders Black Frost to block and absorb the fiery twister to heal Yu. "Little Pest," Demeter uses Dazzle Ray to point and shoot at Black Frost triggering an instant kill and wiping it out easily.
"Damn it," Yu said as his Black Frost Persona Card greys out not allowing him to use it for a while just like Seth. Yu switches to another Persona Cybele using her blades to unleash arcs of energy to knock away Demeter.
"Good hit but that's not enough," Demeter said as she flies into the air to power up her next spell. "Psycho Force," Demeter gathers mental power and flings a huge psychic surge at the team to get hit with it full force. Yu losses his Persona Cybele against the massive psychic attack which greys out her Persona card.
Adi tanks the hits using her Gravity Shift to increase the density of her body taking all the hits while the others were not so lucky. "Guys, Demeter is very powerful as a mage but when it comes to close-range combat, she is a joke. We need to make an opening and get in a few powerful hits. She will go down," Adi said.
"You don't think I know what you are going to do. I can't let you do that, Antichthon," Demeter casts an Almighty spell to gather white energy into a huge orb above her head. "Eat this," she tosses it at Yu but Teddie knocks him out of the way to take the hit.
"Teddie," Yu shouted as he is hit with the full force of the spell. Teddie is deeply hurt and feels very sluggish and weak.
"Oh, too bad, you got weakened bear," Demeter said as she teleports in front of Teddie to send him flying with a psychic shove onto the grass.
"Get away from them," Rise said as she is fighting Demeter along with Chie using water spells and physical strikes. "Mega Bubble," she summons two huge bubbles to toss them at Demeter.
"No problem," Demeter said as she makes a barrier but the bubbles explode which release more bubbles which catches Demeter off guard. "What?" Demeter gets caught up by the series of mini explosions which breaks her shield to knock her back.
"Galactic Punt," Chie powers up her kick to deliver a powerful blow to Demeter's head to launch her across the forest crashing through several trees along the way. She crashes into her stone tower to be embedded into a hole.
"Oh, you want to get serious. Time I get serious, Accursed Poison," Demeter spews a cloud of green clouds from her mouth to overwhelm the team to not only weakened their bodies but paralyze their bodies making them unable to move.
"What is happening to us?" Yu questioned.
"Oh, when I change the strength of my poison. Its changes its effects from poisoning you to paralyzing you in place to even sealing magic," Demeter said as she looms over to Teddie has been weakened the worst out of all of them. "This time, I will not miss," Demeter said darkly aiming her finger to use Dazzle Ray several times cutting through Teddie's chest including one cutting through his heart.
"Teddie!" the group shouted in terror as Adi saw Demeter distracted to use her gravity to purge the poison out of her body through her mouth along with twisting the gas right into the air stopping them from being paralyzed.
"Now you have gone done it now bitch," Adi slams Demeter with a gravity orb to pin her to the ground to start pounding her in the face. She delivers a powerful Gravity Kick into her stomach to knock her into her stone pillar making it collapse and crash on top of her.
Adi leaps at her with Yu and others looking over Teddie's wounds. "These are fatal, oh Teddie," Yukiko said as their healing isn't going to regrow organs.
"Sensei, everyone. I am sorry for not being strong enough," Teddie said.
"Don't talk," Yu said as everyone is upset and crying that Teddie is dying.
"Sensei, I need you to take this," Teddie said as he hands Yu the Fusion Gem. "Adi says Nanako is going to be a Persona User soon, I want her to have this. She will be joining the team soon; she will need it. It's not like I am going to need it any longer," Teddie said as Rise can detect Teddie's life signs are failing.
"I can't believe this is happening," Kanji said in disbelief that one of their teammates is dying.
"Damn it Ted, why you damn it," Yosuke said on his knees with the girls crying in the background.
"Teddie," Chie said.
"Please don't die," Yukiko said.
"Hang on," Nanto said as Rise can see Teddie's life signs are very low.
"Sensei, it's been fun. Hanging out with you guys and feeling human. I was awesome, I hope I see you in heaven," Teddie said giving Yu a big hug.
"Count it," Yu tried to hold back his emotions trying to maintain this image of coolness Teddie always admired.
"Thanks for everything," Teddie said as Yu can feel his body going limp as Rise breaks down into tears.
"Teddie is gone," Rise unable to hold back tears and crying on her knees.
"Damn it why," Kanji leashes out to pound his fists onto the grass.
"That bitch needs to pay for it," Yukiko said coldly.
"You're damn right, I can't let her get away with this," Chie said as Rise wipes away her tears with righteous anger replacing sadness.
"We are going to avenge Teddie along with this town," Rise said as she gets out of her fusion to begin singing her Valor Song with her Persona guarding.
"We are going to slap that goddess bitch into next week," Kouzeon sharing her anger with her human self.
Yu sheds tears for Teddie for a moment to close his eyes as he braces himself for the hard fight ahead. "Guys let's go," Yu ordered as everyone is empowered with Rise's magical song.
Adi is fighting Demeter to gain the upper hand with Rise's song taking its effect making her movements sharper, harder, and faster with Demeter feeling sluggish.
"Damn it, what is happening?" Demeter questioned as she gets stuck in the head with another Gravity Kick.
"Graviton Wave," Adi unleashes pulses of gravity to strike at Demeter several times. Adi uses Gravity Shift to lift several objects to begin tossing them at the little goddess.
She makes a stone wall to block this but Adi crushes the stone wall with gravity to fling all the rocks at her too. Demeter gets buried by the barrage of debris. "Transcendence," Adi puts up an anti-gravity field around her to catch Demeter within it floating helplessly in the air.
Adi dashes through the anti-gravity field at high speed to deliver flying Gravity Kicks delivering crushing blows. "Spiral Claw," Adi spins herself around becoming an energy drill to speed up her assault to overwhelm the goddess. One final strike has her drive into Demeter's chest to send her flying across the park to crush her onto the ground leaving behind a huge crater.
"So, this is the Gravity Queen in action," Demeter said as she is seen bloodied up and bruised. She feels her face to see her nose is broken. "Look what you did to my pretty little nose," Demeter said as she snaps it back into place.
"Did you forget, I used to hunt and kill Demons and Gods for my job? Don't you forget it," Adi said.
"Oh, you are holding back why? Are you maintaining a certain image in front of your friends or tools?" Demeter questioned her.
"Well, I do need them but they are my friends despite how silly or naive they are," Adi said with a smile.
"There is some truth to your words but I wonder for how long that will be the case for your real objective," Demeter speaking about the Cosmic Egg.
"I need it, I need it to fix our worlds," Adi said.
"You didn't tell them the whole truth about those things right?" Demeter asked.
"I thought they didn't exist?" Adi asked in a mocking tone.
"There are other Cosmic Eggs in other Universes and worlds. Whenever they were used, bad things tend to happen," Demeter readies a healing spell. "Eleusinian Harvest," she unleashes a bright light that covers her little body to not only heal her back to full health but give her a passive energy field acting like a second skin. "Seems like that Persona User is using her song to weaken me, I need to seek her out and take her out," Demeter plans within her mind to see the others coming this ay to beside Adi. "So, you are done crying yet over a worthless Shadow. Pretending to be human no less, so pathetic," Demeter said.
"You are the pathetic one lady," Kanji said.
"Teddie was a good person despite his pervert misgivings. He was our friend and cut him down so callously," Yukiko said.
"Like I care about some random Shadow. They are like ants to us Demons, easily step on," Demeter said.
"You are the one who is going to be stepped on," Marie said.
"Speaking of which, you are one to talk. Fake goddess, you didn't have a chance against my might. How does it feel to fight a real goddess?" Demeter asked.
Yu thought that Demeter was on another level. Nothing like he fought before but he can't show weakness to this heartless woman. "Real or not, you are going down," Yu said as they aid with Adi who was holding her own against Demeter from before.
"Hey Sensei, what was that spell she used on Teddie?" Rise asked within her mind.
"Oh, it's called Antichthon. It's an Almighty Spell, it's like Megidolaon mixed with Debilitate combined," Adi said.
"That is so unfair, she really is a Goddess pulling moves like that," Rise said as the others are fighting back harder than before keeping Demeter on her toes.
"It's pretty deadly as you can see for yourself," Adi said as Rise is trying to hold back tears again but it was no time for that now.
"I know Teddie but we need to win. No matter what," Rise said as Kouzeon is detecting living trees nearby.
"Oh, she is trying to get rid of us, not so fast," Kouzeon said as she is blasting them away with beams of water and light. "Keep going other me, don't fuck up," she said.
"Yeah, I know," Rise said as she keeps on singing with her voice giving her friends and husband the buffs they need while weakening Demeter and allowing them to fight back.
Kanji manages to shove his shield into Demeter's face but has done no damage but sees a light blinking on Demeter's body. "What is going on, why isn't she taking damage?" Kanji questioned as Naoto fired her gun to see Demeter has a passive field that is eating the hits.
"That is part of her special healing spell Eleusinian Harvest. It heals her body back to full health but gives her a passive energy field she wears like a second skin. It negates all damage but it will break with enough damage," Adi said as Yu and Marie fought Demeter while Naoto and Yukiko flung projectiles at the goddess.
"So, we need to keep hitting her until her special field breaks. Then we give it to her," Chie said as she, Yu, and Kanji exchanged blows with Demeter using her barriers to block it while her field eats the shots that get past her.
"Don't get cocky, Earthquake," Demeter uses a Piercing Earth Spell which hits Chie with a surge of earthly energy cracking through the ground. This spell bypasses her earth resistance and knocks her out pretty hard. "Eat this," she summons a spear of wood to toss it at Chie aiming for her head.
"No!" Yukiko burns away the wooden spear before hitting her head leaving her safe from getting impaled. "Thank goodness," Yukiko said almost having a heart attack.
Demeter blocks Kanji and Yu with a barrier to hit them both with a Killing Wind delivering heavy damage to both. Yu gets hit pretty hard by this as his resistance to wind is bypassed by the deadly spell. Yu summons Alice to cast Megidolaon to strike the Goddess to shrug off the damage but weaken her passive field.
"That is cute, Antichthon," Demeter raises her hand into the air to summon a huge white orb to toss at Yu and Alice. They tried to run from the blast but took the blast and Alice took most of the damage to make her vanish. "Oh Yu, your Personas are dropping like flies. Speaking of lies," Demeter looks over to Rise. "That song of yours is becoming annoying," Demeter's eyes flash blue to use Impaler's Glory to give her next move the pierce effect and triple the damage.
Rise senses damage to prepare a barrier to reflect the attack. Demeter looks at her like Rise is an idiot.
"Don't think your barrier is going to deflect this. Dazzle Ray," she fires an enhanced finger beam to easily cut through the barrier and strike down Kouzeon triggering an instant kill and causing too much damage to see the Persona withdraw. This causes Rise to feel massive pain which is enough to black out and fall onto the ground.
"What an idiot, having her Persona exposed like that," Demeter laughs at her foolishness with the others especially Yu worried about Rise.
"Rise," everyone said.
"Don't worry, her Persona took too much damage and she only fainted but she is out of the fight," Adi said.
"No more stupid song which means I am back at full power. Time to go wild, Vacuum Wave," Demeter unleashes a wave of powerful winds to sweep up everyone except for Adi who uses her gravity powers to plant herself onto the ground.
Demeter uses Impaler's Glory to power her next move to aim for Marie. She prepares her deflection shield but her Dazzle Ray pierces through the barrier with ease and punches right through her stomach barely missing a fatal strike.
"Too bad, false goddess," Demeter said as Marie falls onto the grass to black out from too much pain as she lost her fusion state to be out of the fight. "Be crushed," Demeter summons two stone pillars around Yu about to press him into a bloody pancake.
"No," Adi teleports towards Yu's location to increase the density in her muscles to reach out with her hands to stop the moving stone stabs which were going to crush Yu. "I am not going to have you kill my friends," Adi said as she uses her Gravity Kick to smash the huge stone pillars to pieces. She uses Gravity Shift to lift all the rocks around her and tosses them out like machine gun bullets.
This assault did enough damage to break the passive field to leave her vulnerable to Adi's barrages of hardened kicks and strikes. "I am sick of your stupid face. Mini Black Hole," Adi powers to begin spinning herself like a top to begin to generate a Black Hole which can bypass her gravity defenses and leaves her looking scared.
"Oh crap, this isn't looking good. Where did she pull that from?" she questioned with fear to start throwing spells at it but it only feeds the Black Hole making it get bigger and unleashing waves of intense gravity which is tearing and stretching the goddess apart. "This power I can't stop it," Demeter screams in pain as the Black Hole implodes anything within its radius is vaporized.
The others looked on in awe to see their Sensei pull out a powerful move that defeated the goddess who is fatally injured losing all her limbs. "Damn it, you are indeed the Gravity Queen. I have failed Lady Yukiko by stopping you from reaching Nanako," Demeter said as everyone is shocked by this.
"What the hell? You were going after Nanako?" Yu asked to be deeply angered by this.
"Of course, this invasion was a distraction from our real objective. Taking Nanako to complete the demonic seal needed to turn all the people within this town into souls," Demeter said.
"You can't be serious," Yukiko said.
"Yes, it's ruthless but effective. You are so predictable, using the love of this town against you while we seek out the girl," Demeter said spitting blood onto the grass.
"Damn you," Adi said as Demeter laughed at them.
"Don't even pretend you are heroes in this story. The Sisters of Fate foresee what Adi and Yu will do to this world and beyond. It's in our best to kill you all to preserve our way of life," Demeter said before dying on the grass to disappear in a mist of red leaving behind a red crystal.
Adi goes over to take the demonic crystal which holds Demeter's godly essence. "This would be useful," she said as she put it into her pocket.
"Nanako, we need to get to Nanako," Rise said as she is barely able to get onto her feet.
"Right," Yu is calling Nanako on her phone to get her on the line.
"Big Bro, thank goodness. I got you, where are you now?" Nanako asked as everyone is relieved to hear she is okay.
"I am in the park," Yu said.
"Okay but I need to show you something," Nanako said.
Back at the school Other Yukiko along with the sisters can sense Demeter is no more. Kai is out of breath fending them off with the four women looking unharmed with slight damage.
"How sad but she has done her job well. Seems like the girl disappeared and gained a Persona, plan needs to change," O. Yukiko thought as she swings her sword to unleash a massive gust of wind to blow away Kai through a wall to fall onto the school grounds.
"That girl will only lead to the ruin of both of us worlds," Clotho said.
"She is the key to whatever we win or fail our worlds," Lachesis said.
"On the path we walk now. Yu and Nanako is a deadly mixture," Atropos said.
"Yes her death will be regrettable but for the sake of our two worlds. She needs to die to prevent ruin," Other Yukiko said.
"Yes, we must do this," Atropos said as they teleported away to refocus their plans.
Kai gets off the grass to put away his blade to see his sister nearby. "Brother I don't sense those people here anymore. Thankfully the girl went away to safety," Rei said.
"The girl is a key to lots of things here. We need to keep that in mind," Kai said as the duo disappears from the battlefield. The demons stop attacking Inaba and leave without a trace to follow their mistress.
Elsewhere Nanako and Artemis arrive at the park to see the group waiting for her. "Hello everyone," Nanako said as Yu and Rise went up to her to hug the young lady. They are very happy to see she is safe.
"Wow, you got a Persona Nanako?" Yukiko asked to see the Centaur woman beside Nanako.
"Yes, she helped me escape but my dad didn't make it," Nanako said as Artemis is holding the dead body of Mr. Dojima. Everyone is in pain and shock to see someone else close is no longer alive. "That other Yukiko killed my dad in front of me. I was so powerless to stop it," Nanako said as Yu gave her a deep hug.
"Yep, that sounds about right. She is always ruthless and efficient with what she does," Adi said.
"I can't believe it. Teddie and now Mr. Dojima," Chie said as Rise looks at her phone to see something weird.
"Hey guys, people are saying the demons are gone now," Rise said.
"Seriously, they just went away," Kanji said.
"Seems like Demeter was correct. This invasion was just a distraction and the mission was a failure. They all left behind for us all to pick up the pieces," Adi said.
"Thankfully, this all can be repairable within a week or so. The human lives lost can't be replaced," Yosuke said as they won the battle but it feels bittersweet.
Back with Alice went over to her house to see it was on fire. "What the hell is happening?" she questioned to see a wall which has a phone and some writing painted in red by the Lone Stars.
"Foreigner, leave this nation at once. We don't need your kind here. Pick up the phone and hear our warning," she reads to hear something on the phone lying on the side. She picks it up and she hears the cries of her parents being burned along within the house.
"No, no!" Alice falls onto her knees with tears pouring out of her eyes to hear her parents burning to death and there is nothing she can do about it. "Those bastards the Lone Stars. I will kill them, I will kill them all," Alice felt a sharp pain through her brain.
"So, you are drowning in despair. Are you going to throw a pity party or are you going to do something about it?" a strong female voice matching her talks to her within her mind.
"Who is this?" Alice asked.
"I am your other self. One who is tired of the looks and expectations of others trying to drag us down. Are you going to do something about this?" she asked.
"Yes, I am sick of all of this. I tried so hard to fit in here but no one cares. It's all for nothing but I want to avenge my parents. I want to kill every single Lone Star in this nation and destroy them like the cancer they are," Alice's sadness quickly transformed into rage.
"Good, I will let you use my strength and you will be able to rebel against this wicked system," the female voice said as Alice is holding her head feeling like its hold fire.
"I am Thou, thou art I. Let's spread fear and chaos within the hearts of evildoers. Becoming an agent of vengeance to tear up this wicked system of injustice and apathy. Now call my name and I will allow you to become an angel of death," the female voice said as suddenly there is a mask on her face in the form of tactical military googles.
She feels like the goggles were taped onto her face. She begins to pull them off to tear her skin to rip them off with her face covered with blood. "Come Morrigan," she screams to be engulfed in a blue light as she becomes a Phantom Thief.
"Now you have become Reaper, the angel of death to your enemies. Now let us take our vengeance against the Lone Stars," Morrigan said as she shares her human self the same anger and sadness within her.
"Yes I will become the Reaper and I will tear down this nation. Seeking every single Lone Star until they are all dead," Alice said as the fires of her old life had been put out and the flames of her rebellion against this unfair system were about to begin.
