Hello everyone. I'm back and checked my computer. This is what I left out on the former chapter. And what I wanted to post for chapter 12. For those who haven't realised it yet, This is a reincarnation history and this is far from over, this is the second life.
I was in a concert with a couple friends and this wasn't ready for posting.
As it turned out,the wedding was the main topic in any conversation that narnians and their neighbours fell back when they ran out of things to discuss.
From the wedding vows and venues, to the setting and the guests. Three guests in particular stirred reactions and memories. You see, people where convinced that Queen Rowena and her friends were the reincarnated kings and queens of the past, those who saved Narnia from an infamous witch when they were kids and against all odds.
The Lady Helga and the two knights that felt from the sky in a blinding light and with the roar of Aslan (or a lion's roar at any rate)
That and the shooting starts gracing the sky for a banquet in the gardens. Those were taken as a sign of approval for the newlyweds and finally, old Trumpkin gave his reluctant acceptance.
Rilian was in for a surprise. From having no one, just Rowena, he ended up having a family again. Helga mothered everyone, no questions asked or strings attached. And she was scary as fuck when she was angry, as they saw it when she got a grip of Rowena and gave ger a piece of her mind for "eloping to another world" as if Rowena had control over her comings and goings beside sensing it!
Even Godric and Salazar took a smart step back and didn't even try to stop Helga's rant. It was hilarious to watch. Two strong and bigh knights wisely stepping back on the face of the chubby girl's fury.
Narnians and their unexpected guests agreeing on never ever crossing this lady willingly if they had another choice.
Godric was soon known as a great sparring partner for anyone who wanted to go at it. He was always up for a good spar and despised politics and anything that qualified as "to serious" not because he didnt understand it, he despised it.
On the other had, Salazar wanted to learn everything he could and had everyone charmed by the end of the day even the old and difficult counselor, Trumpkin.
When the friends finally sat down to discuss how they actually came to Narnia, they drew a blank.
If Helga was scary in her fury, like a fire. Rowena was icy. When she heard of what happened back home and how they still couldn't find Hengist, she wanted to have a go at the old minister along with them. Even Helga wanted to take part in it and that was saying something.
Rowena explained about time or at least how it seemed to run differently in each world. She was happy that they could make it to Narnia, meet Rilian and be in her wedding. Even so, no one addressed the elephant in the room. They were bound to go back eventually if they managed to come. Even if they didn't find a way to make it happen. They could just disappear here and appear back home for all they knew. Narnians swore that they came because Aslan willed it. It was his design as a gift.
Even so, Rowena couldn't exactly contain her distaste whenever she heard the name. As if she associated it with loss. Instinctively. That scared her and made her feel uncomfortable, Aslan had saved Rilian.
But even so, she couldn't bring herself to like this elusive deity that she'd never had seen.
She just had to remember Caspian's sadness and loneliness for years on end. How he had to live like that.
Even dying Caspian had though of her, had asked his son to provide and care for her.
She feared, it was a constant fear that she kept at bay but it ate at her whenever she was alone and didn't have something or someone to distract herself.
What if she faced the same fate than the four of Cair Paravel? Being unable to come back. She really understood Trumpkin, her concerns align with his fears.
She had to somehow find a way to be able to come back, always. And that consuedevery waking moment she had. She needed to come up with a solution
...
By the end of the wedding party and feast, Salazar knew quite a lot and strived to find out more.
He had heard enough for now, that is. No one here knew about Rowena's magic, at least, not completely.
He couldn't blame her after learning about the infamous witches that wanted to take over Narnia in the past. The last one was to frwshyto bury. She has killed the former Queen and abducted Rilian for over 10 years, devious and evil. Surely a lady of goals.
He was uncomfortable, why? Rowena faced danger, they all did. This people had every right to abhor magic and everything remotely related to it.
They could surely end up in a dangerous situation if someone got it into their heads that they wanted to rule Narnia or something.
He was cautious about the research he conducted, to be fair; he was on high alert since they came here. Thia was an unknown place, a different world. He didn't know how he got here, or when and how to go back home. Or if he might.
They had Hengist and the school to think about.
Godric and Helga hadn't shared their thoughts but he as sure they wanted to go back home as much as he did.
Rowena... well. He assumed she wanted to stay with ber husband. It wasn't as if she could take Rilian back home or if he wanted to. He was the king.
He had a duty to his people and couldn't just up and go, leaving everything behind. To do what, exactly?
Here he had a purpose, a great responsibility and duty; back at Rowena's world he was nothing. He didn't even exist and had no connections. He certainly wouldn't want that.
His mind coming up with likely scenarios, Salazar couldn't bring himself to relax, but anyway his latest occupation helped somehow on getting his mind out off the darkest scenarios. Rilian came to him with an interesting request. One Salazar was all to happy to accept even if it really wasn't one of his areas of expertise.
...
Godric could tell that his friends were on edge, Salazar specially, whenever he felt insecure he defaulted to charm everyone around him. And he was asking around evrrything he could about Narnia. He couldn't blame him. They were on another land that had more magic than their world ever had, but the funny thing was that no one here practised magic or wielded it.
They seemed rightly offended by the mere suggestion and it turns out, witches were monsters here.
The only magic they didn't see as the devil's coming was performed by their god, Aslan.
For them, Aslan was everything good and something else.
It certainly didn't have anything to do with the muggle religions back home, this people truly loved and respected this being, this Aslan.
And Rowena despised him.
Godric wasn't nearly as perceptive and sneaky as Salazar, but he knew his friends and their reactions, Rowena didn't like this Aslan very much. Why? He didn't want to risk asking, someone could overhead and it will cost them dearly. For now they were welcomed, bur at the first signal they might be considered enemies.
Helga liked Rilian as a person but was having a hard time warning up to him. He had certain darkness around him and... it showed.
Rowena had explained how a witch had killrd his mother, kidnapped and spelled him in order to take over Narnia and be the ruler, having him beside her.
Rilian was a good person, that was undeniable.
But Godric couldn't say he agreed with Rowena's marriage. What was she supposed to do when she had to go back to their world?
Fact is, they didn't belong in Narnia, she was the only one out of them that had some connection to this place, but she couldn't stay permanently.
She had visions and visited. She bad been here for 15 days of their world and here it had been over a year.
She was relieved when they informed her of the time frame.
She will suffer a lot in the future, it didn't takena genius to piece out. She belonged in another world and eventually she'd had to return, if she chooses one and forsakens the other, she'll end up losing people and places she loved.
If they stood to do something about it, they should think about how to solve the situation before they had to face the inevitable.
Even someone like him saw the need in that, but Salazar might have the lead in finding a solution, that's something he excelled at after all.
They couldn't forsake their world and choose Narnia, they had a duty to magical children and a promise to keep. At the end of the day they had to leave and he just hoped, for Rowena's sake. That at least she'd be allowed back even if none of them could ever lay eyes on Narnia ever again. He could live with that.
Even if this place was beautiful, familiar and somewhere he wouldn't mind living if he has the chance. It seemed they just had to get the most of their visit. It could very well be the first and also the last.
He had made his peace with that. Even if this sadness that he felt whenever he thought about leaving Narnia, was a foreign emotion he couldn't identity completely. This place seemed familiar in a depth of familiarity that scared him somewhat. As if he knew this place before and that couldn't and should've be possible. But then again, he was so close with Helga and Salazar because he felt he knew them to. And for them it was the same. And all of them felt the same towards Rowena.
He didn't tend to question things, normally that would be Salazar's business. But this situation called for it.
There had to be something else to this whole affair other than fate. Someone or something was pulling the strings and he didn't really mind, that is, if they were happy and healthy. As soon as something happened he was ready to hand out fire and blood. No questions asked.
...
Soul resides in everything and in nothing. Can't be contained (at least not entirely) and it's the driving force behind most individuals and beings that resided in all worlds alike. Gods just had a step further than younger beings but even them could be degraded and punished by others. No one was safe. Everyone was subjected to a higher class that could strip you off your status and leave you hanging. "Stubborn soul" or revel without a cause. It just took someone with more power than you wanting something you had and you'll be doomed. If you didn't bend over backwards or surrendered whatever they wanted of you, you'll be punished. Divine punishment they called it. Therefore you were branded as a sinner.
If the punishment was unwarranted the receiver was bound to react negatively. Yeah, guidance. What about free will? Free will my foot!
A god could be a mortal with just a blink. A mortal with a grudge against the gods, no power and no memory. That was troublesome and unhealthy for the world. But then again. Why should you care about others when you were condemned? Higher entities appeared to "guide" you. But that guidance was their trying to make you fit in their grand scheme of things, of how the world should be run. Then again. Adapt and you'll live. Be stubborn a and you will fall. Fat load of hypocrites those gods.
Such a rebel soul was unwanted by the gods but needed for the world. You see. To evolve, a system needed change.
