Lena's POV
The day finally came. Between Astra, Kara, and I, we created a stable amount of platinum kryptonite. Excitement filled my chest when the stone didn't automatically explode in the chamber. Taking my hand, Kara squeezed. "It's going to work this time. It's not going to decompose."
"After five long years," I muttered. I helped create something only found on another planet from particles of dust.
Placing a hand on our shoulders, Astra spoke. "We finally did it."
"What happens now?" Kara asked. "Does platinum kryptonite work like green kryptonite or does it work like gold?"
"It works like gold kryptonite. We need to make sure this one is stable. Let's give it a week and we'll go from there. Once it's used on a human, it permanently changes their DNA. I would like to approach it like we do green kryptonite if possible."
Turning my attention towards the older Kryptonian, I clarified. "Use the training room to acclimate me to the new strength?" I know we need to wait but I want to start now. I've waited five years already.
"Yes. Once you are used to the strength, you can hold it. I believe that will make it easier for you to go about your life."
"That sounds reasonable. Waiting a week will drive me nearly insane but it'll be worth it in the end."
"What should we do with the kryptonite afterwards?" Kara asked.
"Destroy it. If that fell into the wrong hands…" Astra's voice trailed.
"It would not be good."
"Exactly." Astra rolled her shoulders. "Shall we call it a night? Alex and Sam are hosting movie night."
"We'll see you there," I began. "We need to fly by the apartment and grab a bottle of wine before heading to Alex's."
Exiting L-Corp, Astra ascended into the sky. "See you there."
"We've waited this long, one more week won't hurt too much." Sweeping me into her arms, Kara grinned at the slight horror that flashed over my face. "You'll be able to fly soon. If you want to."
Bracing myself, I waited for us to do the same. "Baby steps. That'll be the last thing I learn to do."
"While I'd love for us to fly side by side, I would miss carrying you."
I'd miss being in your strong arms. "I'd miss that too."

A week passed and the kryptonite was deemed to be stable. Standing in the training room, I took a steadying breath. Kara had set a few things on a nearby table to test my strength. "Are you ready?"
"I am."
Picking up the tablet, Kara turned on the kryptonite lights. "We'll start with fifteen percent."
As the kryptonite lights began to power on, I felt changes in my body. I wonder if this is how Kara feels when under a sun lamp. Flexing my hands, I breathed through the pressure I felt. It's not painful. It's different. "Huh."
"How do you feel?"
"Energized." I rolled my shoulders. It's almost like I drank four shots of espresso at once minus the jitters.
"Think you can handle twenty five?" I nodded. Kara increased the power a little more.
Moving to the punching bag, I took my stance and punched. The sand holding the bag upright shifted back slightly. Excitement rushed through me. A few more jabs caused Kara to chuckle. "What?" I smirked.
"I'm just enjoying your excitement."
Walking towards the table, I picked up a mug. I made a mental note to be careful and not squeeze too tightly. "This is so cool." Winn's voice came over the speaker. "It's almost like the training rooms in Dragon Ball Z. You're just increasing your new strength instead of gravity." Both of us laughed.
"I wish I had this opportunity. If I could have eased into my powers, there would have been a lot less broken stuff," Kara chuckled.
"I'm sure there will still be broken things since I'm not constantly at twenty five, forty five, sixty five, etcetera." I picked up a wine glass next. "I'll go from zero to one hundred. I just have the benefit of remembering what the power feels like."
"Next level?"
"Sure." Kara increased the intensity to forty five. My body started buzzing more than any amount of caffeine could do. "You good?"
"Yeah. I'm just buzzing." I examined my body. Not exactly sure what I expect to see change. "Is this how you feel sometimes?"
"On sunny days, yeah. That's one reason why I love laying on the balcony or on the living room floor when the sun shines into the apartment."
"I understand it now," I laughed. Moving back to the bag, I punched it again. This time, it toppled over.
"Very nice." Astra's voice came over the speaker this time. "Kara, Alex and J'onn need you. I can take over unless you're done for the day."
Kara's brow rose in question. "How do you feel?"
"I can handle more." Maybe Astra won't take such a light touch with this. I understand Kara is trying to be careful because she doesn't want me hurt. "Come on in."
"I'll see you soon." Kara kissed me quickly.
"See you at home." Taking Kara's hand, I smiled. "Be safe out there, Supergirl."
A light blush tinted The Super's cheeks. "I will be." Before exiting the room, Kara passed the tablet to Astra.
Examining the room, Astra nodded. "Training seems to be going well."
"We're at forty five percent now. Kara wants to move me up slowly."
Astra scanned the tablet. "What do you want?"
Walking over to the punching bag, I set it upright. "I wouldn't mind seeing what one hundred feels like." Mindlessly, I went to kick the bag only to have it explode at the lightest touch. "What the hell?"
Astra chuckled. "That's why Kara broke so many things." She turned the tablet towards me. "One hundred percent. How do you feel?"
"Relatively normal. I'm buzzing all over." Moving back to the table, I picked up a glass only to have it shatter in my hand. So much for not breaking anything. I inspected my hand. "No cuts."
"Nope." Placing the tablet down, the older woman took a stance. "Come at me."
"What?"
"Try to attack me. Mine and Kara's training methods are very different. Under these lights, any attack won't hurt you. Without these lights, your hand would break."
"Double tap means stop, right?"
"Correct."
Here we go. Rushing the older woman, she blocked most of my attacks but allowed me one strike. Shaking her arm, Astra beamed. "Excellent!" Resetting, she grinned. "Again." I was quickly humbled when I found myself staring at the ceiling.

Kara's POV
Entering the apartment, I heard soft jazz coming from the bedroom. Pulling out my phone, I sent Lena a quick message. I'm home. Didn't want to startle you. Need anything? -K
Only you. -L
Snorting, I entered the bathroom. Soaking in a hot bubble bath, Lena flipped the page of her current book. "What a lovely sight to see." Leaning down, I kissed my wife. "How was training with Astra?"
Placing the book on the makeshift table, Lena grinned. "Good for me. Not so good for the punching bag."
Laughing, I took a seat on the floor. "I bet. Do you want me to heat up dinner?"
"Sure. I'll be out in a few. I'm just a little sore."
"I'm sure you are." After my first training session, I was sore for a week. "Take your time."
Lena joined me as I finished plating the food. There was a newfound strength that radiated from the CEO. "Thank you for making dinner." She kissed my cheek.
"You're welcome." As we ate, Lena told me about the training Astra and she did after I left. "I should have known the two of you would do that," I smirked.
"Christmas is coming up so that will give me time to fully acclimate to the kryptonite's effects. No one will be in the office for a week and I can easily take a week's vacation after that."
"Two weeks seems like a good amount of time. Since there won't be many interruptions from work, you can focus on controlling your powers."
"Exactly." The CEO grinned mischievously. "I guess we won't need the red sun lamp for too much longer."
Swallowing hard, I smiled nervously. "I guess not." All these years later and she still keeps me tongue tied. I love it.

Once everyone left for Christmas, we decided to use the platinum kryptonite. Lena had trained long enough that when she went from zero to one hundred there weren't many issues. I never doubted Lena but I was proud to see her succeed.
Astra, Clark, Lena, and I met in the large D.E.O. training room. "Are you ready?" Astra held a lead coated case.
Meeting my gaze, Lena smiled. "I am, yes."
Taking my wife's hand, I squeezed. "You've got this."
Opening the box, Astra presented the silver colored stone. "Just pick it up and the effect should happen quickly."
Taking the stone in her hands, I knew Lena would feel the effects quickly. A platinum color shined from the stone. She's going to hear, smell, and feel everything all at once. The buzzing of electricity, the feeling of the fabric on her skin, and each note in the perfume she wears. It's going to be a lot. "How do you feel?" I asked worriedly.
"Like I'm going to be overstimulated for a bit," she joked. "I feel good though."
"Destroy the stone," Astra instructed. "You hit every target during training. You can do this." Tossing the stone, Lena used her heat vision to destroy the kryptonite.
"Perfect shot." Coming to stand before Lena, Clark held out his hand. "Welcome to the party."
"Thanks," Lena chuckled. Taking his hand, she shook it firmly. "It's sunny, shall we go to the roof? Let me see how this really feels?"
"Sure," We all answered.
Opening the door to the roof, Lena pulled a bit too hard and it came off the hinges. Cringing, she placed it down gently. "Can someone call maintenance?"
I couldn't help but laugh. "Of course. I took off the front doors of this place a handful of times myself. J'onn just grumbles at this point."
Entering the sunlight, Lena hummed. "This feels incredible."
Rao. She's so beautiful. Somehow, even more now with this newfound strength. The next two weeks will be an uphill struggle but any broken object will be worth it in the end. Coming to stand beside my wife, I basked in the sun's warm rays. "It really does."
A/N: Thank you all for sticking with me and this story over the past few years. If you're finding it as a complete story, you are lucky! I'm sad to see this story end since I've been working on it for 3 years but all good things must come to an end. There are more stories to come!
