Excitement was palpable in the air at the UA Sports festival stadium, thousands of heroes and civilians flooded the stadium as vendors sold food and trinkets in preparation of the festivities.
"WELCOME ONE AND ALL TO UA'S FIRST YEAR SPORTS FESTIVAL!" Present Mic exclaimed into the sound system from his booth, a drowsy Aizawa sitting beside him, "I'M YOUR HOST PRESENT MIC AND WITH ME IS CLASS 1A TEACHER ERASERHEAD AND WE ARE EC-STATIC FOR THIS YEARS GAMES! WE HAVE DOZENS OF POWERHOUSES READY TO DUKE IT OUT FOR NUMERO UNO! AND WITH BIG NAMES COMING TO WATCH AND SPECTATE; IT'S SURE TO BE A SPORTS FESTIVAL TO REMEMBER!
Krillin grinned as he walked into the stadium, Eighteen beside him and his daughter in her arms. "Pretty good turn out." he whistled, making Eighteen nod.
"I hear they really pushed for more hero attendees this year," She said, "because of what happened at the USJ."
Krillin's smile disappeared for a moment, then his grin returned, "I feel sorry for any villain that tries something today, not only are we here, but the kids have really gotten strong this past month."
"Uraraka has really come a long way." Eighteen agreed.
"Hey Krillin! Eighteen!"
"Yamcha!" Krillin cheered as he saw the shaggy haired man come running towards them, "what are you doing here?"
"I came to watch my disciple compete." he chuckled, jabbing his thumb at his chest, "I'm pretty sure he's gonna win the whole thing."
"Oh really?" Krillin scoffed, "I'm pretty sure My disciple's got this in the bag."
"Wanna make a wager on it." Yamcha challenged, grunting when someone patted his back roughly.
"I say Hagakure's gonna win this." Tien proclaimed confidently, having heard them as he'd walked up.
"We'll see about that!" Yamcha snapped hotly, "eight thousand Yen that Ojiro makes it to the semi-finals against Izumi."
"I'll match that, and raise you three thousand that Uraraka makes it further than Ojiro." Krillin challenged.
"And ten thousand that Hagakure makes the finals." Tien threw his favor in.
"DEAL!" the three chorused, shaking hands while Eighteen watched on.
"Glad to see things are still the same around here." she mumbled, Mairin giggling at her father and uncle's silliness.
Down in the locker rooms, Izumi was bouncing from foot to foot, throwing a couple of jabs out every now and then in a warm up, all around her other members of class 1A were likewise getting ready for the coming challenges. Everyone looked determined and ready.
"Midoriya."
"Hmm?" Izumi hummed, looking over to Todoroki as he walked up to her.
"From an objective standpoint, I believe I'm stronger than you."
Bakugo barked out a laugh, "in your dreams Icy Hot." Bakugo sneered.
"Um…in a way he's right." Izumi said sheepishly, "when it comes to raw power he really is stronger than me."
"Don't encourage this extra!" Bakugo snapped, "I'll entertain the idea Pink Cheeks and Invisalign have gotten stronger, but Icy Hot doesn't even use the Hot side of his quirk-"
"-I don't need that man's quirk to be a hero!" Todoroki snarled.
"Ain't no one's quirk but your own." Bakugo growled back.
"Enough both of you." Ojiro ordered, stepping between them. His tail easily pushing Bakugo back.
"Fuck off tails." He barked. Crossing his arms as he took a step back.
"Let your actions do the talking." Ojiro said firmly, his tail swishing around to push Shoto back as the boy tried to step forward to continue his tirade, "we're all about to get a chance to show what we're made of. Carrying on like this is just poor manners."
"Yeah, leave the declarations of war to Gen Ed!" Kaminari urged.
"Gen Ed?" Izumi asked, looking around at everyone's now spoiled moods, "what do they have to do with this?"
"That's right, you and Bakugo were out training when they came by." Sato muttered, "the whole of Gen Ed and 1B showed up at the classroom to give some kind of declaration of war, some purple haired kid named Shinsou was leading them, him and this massive mountain of a guy! He was taller than Shoji!"
"Taller than Shoji! Wow, that's tall!" Izumi gasped as Todoroki stalked away now that their confrontation was over.
"Everything's tall to you Half-pint." Bakugo scoffed.
"Hey no fair! I'm not the one calling him tall!"
"Whatever, who cares if a bunch of no talent extras who couldn't even pass the entrance exam declares war on us." he sneered, "we'll flatten em just like everyone else."
"I don't know, that big guy looked serious." Kirishima said, arms behind his head. "And we don't know what their quirks are, they might have something that wasn't good against bots but great against people!"
"Class 1A! Line up and prepare to move out!" Iida shouted as he burst into the room, interrupting whatever scathing remark Bakugo had on the tip of his tongue. "we're on!"

"AND WELCOME BACK TO UA's SPORTS FESTIVAL!" Present Mic shouted into the mic as the stands were filled to the brim by eager heroes and civilians. "I'M YOUR HOST PRESENT MIC, COMING TO YOU LIVE FROM UA STADIUM! WHERE OUR FESTIVITIES ARE KICKING OFF! AND WHAT BETTER WAY TO START, THEN TO INTRODUCE OUR STARS OF THE DAY; THE FIRST YEAR CLASSES! AND HERE THEY COME" He exclaimed, pointing a finger down to one of the tunnels on the field, where the students were all walking out, "LEADING IS CLASS 1A! THE SHOW STOPPING CLASS WHO DEALT WITH VILLAINS THEIR FIRST WEEK AND CAME OUT RARIN' FOR MORE! AND COMING UP BEHIND THEM, THEIR SISTER CLASS 1B WITH THE STAR STUDDED CAST READY TO SHOW US WHAT THEY'RE MADE OF!"
"Laying it on a little thick ain't he?" Krillin chuckled from his seat in the stands, waving when he saw Uraraka. The young girl giddily waved back.
"He's a showman, let him have his fun." Yamcha chuckled.
"FOLLOWING BEHIND ARE THE LOVELY UNDERDOGS OF GEN ED'S CLASSES C,D, AND E! EACH ONE COULD BE A POWERHOUSE IN DISGUISE! WAITING TO SLIP FREE AND POUNCE ON THEIR CHANCE OF VICTORY! AND COMING BEHIND THEM IT'S THOSE MAD SCIENTISTS FROM SUPPORT CLASSES F, G, AND H! READY TO BOGGLE OUR MINDS WITH THEIR WACKY CONTRAPTIONS AND SUPPORT GEAR! AND BRINGING UP THE REAR IT'S THE BUSINESS COURSE CLASSES I, J, AND K! THESE CLASSY EGGHEADS ARE…uh…HERE TO SHOW US ABOUT BUSINESS!"
"Nice save." Aizawa droned.
"Hmm?" Tien narrowed his eyes as he spotted a veritable giant amongst Gen Ed, standing at least a head taller than his tallest peer, with shaggy black hair and expressionless bored eyes. "That kid down there…I'm sensing some hidden energy."
"Now that you mention it I feel it too." Yamcha agreed worriedly, "what do you think?"
"Obviously he's been well trained." Piccolo said as he flew down into the stands, landing beside Krillin, "the real question is who trained him."

"Hey Kacchan, you feel that?"
Bakugo stared at Izumi, who was locked in on the tall gen ed student, "yeah, guy's holding something' back." he confirmed, sharing a look with Izumi, "he looks familiar too…can't place it."
"Same." she echoed as the last classes filed onto the field. All of them turned to the Podium, where two familiar figures were walking up.
"AND HERE TO KICK OFF THIS MOMENTOUS FESTIVAL, IT'S MIDNIGHT AND HER FORMER CLASSMATE AND TEAMMATE, HOTSTREAK!"
At the proclamation of her former Hero Name, Mitsuki Bakugo spiked her ki, causing a dense heat to spring up around her, "did ya miss me brats?" She taunted the stadium at large as the crowd went wild, "I hope you're all ready because of today's festivities! Because we'll be seeing some of the strongest hero hopeful's in the world show what they got!"
"And here to give the Athlete's Oath, it's Class 1A's Izumi Midoriya!" Midnight exclaimed.
Izumi blinked in confusion, "Me?" she asked, pointing to herself.
"Yes you! Now come on up!" Mitsuki cheered, clapping alongside everyone else as Izumi flew up excitedly.
"I'm surprised Midoriya is the one they chose…I guess she did get first place in the entrance exam." Kaminari wondered aloud.
"Yeah, the Hero Course Exam." a Gen Ed student sneered, flinching back when Bakugos' palm crackled.
"It's a Hero school, Extra.' he sneered back, giving a malicious grin when he saw the giants attention turned towards him, "so of course they'd go off the Hero Course Entrance Exam."
"Hello Everyone!" Izumi chirped as she reached the Mic, "I'm Izumi Midoriya and I uh…well I don't really know the Athlete's Oath," she giggled sheepishly, rubbing the back of her head, "But I know we'll all work really really hard to show what we all can do! And I can't wait to face off against all of you! Give it your all and I will too! Okay?"
The classes began cheering, just about everyone giving her a genuine smile.
"She's so friendly and warm that it's hard to hold a grudge against her." a gen ed boy said.
"She's too pure for this world, too pure.' a business course girl sniffled.
"Thank you for those words of encouragement!" Midnight cheered as Izumi flew back to her spot, "now it's time to choose our first event!"
Izumi was practically vibrating as they watched the different names blink faster than most could see across the screen until it finally settled on an obstacle race.
"An Obstacle race!" Mitsuki proclaimed, "the goal is to run all the way around this stadium! Tackling the obstacles to come your way until you pass the finish line! Only the first forty two will be allowed to continue on! So give it your all!"
"And all weighted training clothes are to be removed for the rest of this festival!" Midnight chimed in, "we want your all out there kiddos! Anyone found not complying will be punished!"
"Alright!" Izumi cheered as she began pulling her training weights off, Uraraka doing the same alongside Ojiro and Hagakure, even Kirishima was undoing his jacket to take off the thick weighted vest he had on underneath. Only Bakugo didn't make a move.
"I took it all off before I got here." he said gruffly to Izumi as she fixed her jacket, throwing a few experimental jabs in the air as she did, "I wasn't going easy on you losers to begin with."
"It wasn't just us." Ojiro muttered, watching Kendo from Class 1B take thick ankle weights off, Tetsutetsu likewise dropping what looked like several 45 pound plates off his back. "This is gonna be interesting."
"The event starts in ten seconds!" Midnight and Mitsuki exclaimed, counting down the clock as everyone tensed, ready.
Can't risk being slow, have to take to the sky right off the back. Uraraka thought as she brought her fingers together.
This is it! This is it! Hagakure thought giddily.
I'll show them all. Ojiro braced himself.
"3-2-1-GO!"
"RAAAAH!" Izumi exploded into a brilliant white aura as she blasted into the sky, Ojiro, Bakugo, and Uraraka right beside her as everyone surged below them, Tetsutetsu and Kendo trailing behind them.
"Guess we all had the same thought." Ojiro called out as they raced through the air.
"Great minds think alike!" Uraraka giggled as they passed through the tunnel, gasping as a shimmering blur shot past them, "what was that!"
"No way! It's-" Izumi began as she looked up at the shimmering speck.
"Hagakure!" Ojiro gaped as the girls form shimmered and solidified, revealing a pale girl with iridescent hair streaking above them.
"She can go visible!?" Kirishima exclaimed in shock.
"Surprise!" Hagakure giggled as she brought her hands to her forehead, "thanks for watching! SOLAR FLARE!"
Everyone cried out in surprise as they were blinded by the bright flash, even those on the ground had to cover their eyes.
"AND HAGAKURE STEALS THE LEAD!" Present Mic exclaimed, smugly flicking his sunglasses while Shouta rubbed his eyes in pain. "Will she be able to hold on to it!"
"That's my disciple!" Tien cheered, jumping to his feet as the camera followed the young girl as she celebrated mid-air, "keep it up Hagakure!"
"That was awesome!" Izumi cheered, blinking away the stars in her eyes as Bakugo growled and exploded into the sky.
"YOU WON'T BEAT ME INVISALIGN!" he roared, Hagakure shrieked and sped up, yelping as she was forced to dodge giant pillars of ice.
"I don't appreciate being blinded!" Todoroki stated coldly as he sent several more pillars after her and Bakugo; only for two of them to shatter as Ojiro came spinning in, his tail smashing through the ice with ease.
"Tornado tail dance!" Ojiro shouted as he landed, leaping back into the air to avoid the retaliatory spikes from Todoroki, "HA!" He roared, a ki blast demolishing the attack, "gotta do better than that Todoroki!" Ojiro snapped, blasting off.
"OJIRO! WATCH OUT!"
Izumi's cry came in the nick of time, allowing Ojiro to barrel roll out of the way of a robotic arm, "The bots from the entrance exam?" he asked, crying out as something else slammed into his stomach.
"Holy shit!" Kirishima yelped as he hardened his arms, blocking the zooming armored Drone, it's single red eye narrowing as a robotic voice droned "Destroy."
Throughout the air those who had decided to fly were being chased by swarms of these drones; Bakugo was easily flitting between them, tearing the bots apart as he continued on his way to first place, below them Todoroki and the rest of the school ran into the battle bots from the entrance exam. With the Zero-pointers lumbering over them all.
"AND OUR CONTESTANTS HAVE RUN INTO THE FIRST OBSTACLE! ROBO RAMPAGE!" Present Mic cheered.
"The Drones in the air weren't present for the entrance exam," Aizawa droned, "these were made in response to the amount of students we have this year with the ability of flight."
"We gotta get out of this!" Kirishima shouted, blasting forward as he hardened his skin, crashing through the charging Drones.
"Hey! You stole my gimmick!" Tetsutetsu roared as he flew off after Kirishima, his skin turning to steel.
"Oh come on! You know how hard it is to stand out!?" Kirishima snapped.
Izumi whooped as she blasted between them, sending them tumbling through the air as she kicked off two Drones, her hands coming together as she neared one of the Zero-Pointers, "Take this! HA!" air pressure blasted several Gen ed students back as Izumi removed the top of the Zero Pointer from existence, flying through the gap as the rest were frozen by Todoroki.
"I'm unimpressed." He muttered, continuing through the gap he made, "careful, I froze them off balance, on purpose."
But his plan failed as Uraraka landed, planting her feet as the zero-pointers fell, "kamehame-HA!" She screamed, the blast destroying one and knocking the remaining two back, both crashing safely on the ground as the other students rushed past her, "that really wasn't !" She exclaimed as she took off into the sky, narrowly avoiding the trio of Drones plowing into the spot shed just been."Someone could've been seriously injured!"
As she said this the wreckage began to shift, breaking apart as Kirishima exploded out from underneath, "I'M ALIVE!" He roared, making Uraraka stumble through the air a bit.
"Oh my God-Kirishima I'm so sorry!" Uraraka cried as they continued on.
"No sweat! You did the manly thing!" Kirishima reassured, "good thing it was just me! Anyone else would've been killed!"
A rumble had both pausing as the other pile of scrap blasted apart, Tetsutetsu flying straight for them, "YOU 1-A BASTARDS! HAD THAT BEEN ANYONE ELSE THEY'D OF DIED!" He lectured as he got to them, crossing hid arms as he jutted his chin out.
"STOP COPYING ME!" Kirishima snapped hotly, "and what was she supposed ? Let those land on everyone else?"
That brought Tetsutetsu up short, "I-Well…OKAY FINE YOU WIN THIS TIME BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING!" with that he blasted off, Kirishima and Uraraka right behind him as the drones caught up.
Ojiro glanced behind him as the drones suddenly pulled away, "They're not chasing anymore?" He wondered, "I wonder-" his half formed sentence was cut off as a beam of energy suddenly connected with him, powerful electricity coursed through his body before suddenly disappearing, leaving Ojiro to drop towards the ground.
"Ojiro!" Kirishima called out, blasting forward and catching the boy before he could fall into a chasm, "Holy shit-'' Kirsihima cried out, gaining altitude, his eyes widening at the several dozen orbs in the sky, a grid-like maze being created as beams of yellow energy shot between them at infrequent intervals.
"Our contestants on the ground have to deal with the Fall!" Present Mic cheered, "but our fliers must deal with THE GRID! One touch and they'll be electrocuted!"
"YOU THINK THIS SHIT'S GONNA SLOW ME DOWN!?" Bakugo snapped, dodging between the lasers, Izumi right behind him; meanwhile Hagakure grinned and seemed to concentrate, her entire body taking on a shimmery glow once more as she flew straight forward, completely unafraid of the beams as each one that hit her simply refracted away, one of which nailed Bakugo.
"YOU GODDAMN SHITTY INVISALIGN!"
Ojiro groaned as he regained his senses, "That's annoying." he grumbled, "mind giving me a lift Kirishima?"
Kirishima grinned and began to spin rapidly before letting Ojiro go, launching the boy through the grid as he began dodging the blasts as well.
Hagakure darted through the last of the Grid and came to a screeching halt at the newest obstacle.
"Now it's time for the MINEFIELD!" Present Mic screeched into his microphone. And indeed there were mines, littering the air and ground, each one a hair pin away from exploding.
Hagakure gulped and began going through the mind field, turning invisible for the familiar comfort as her friends arrived at the same obstacle.
"This is the same shit as before!" Bakugo snapped, darting between the mines with Izumi hot on his tail, right behind them was Itsuka, the redhead surprisingly keeping pace with Izumi.
"You try to figure out three separate obstacles for people who can fly with five minutes to spare. Why don't ya!" Present Mic shouted after him, shaking his fist angrily at him.
"Bad form." Aizawa droned.
Ojiro backflipped over Bakugo, using his shoulders as a springboard to jump over a cluster of mines, "sorry Bakugo, but i'm winning this!"
"FUCK YOU TAILS!" Bakugo spat, sparing him two ki blasts before he was chasing down Izumi and Itsuka, both capitalizing on the distraction to advance.
"DON'T FORGET ABOUT ME!" Kirishima and Tetsutetsu roared as they both plowed through all of the mines in a race to the finish.
"Damn it, guess there's no use holding back!" Bakugo snarled, powering up and blasting forward, one hand in front of him to destroy mines, Izumi was still darting between them as fast as she could, Kendo hot on her heels. Uraraka and Ojiro neck and neck with her.
"Looks like it's gonna be a photo finish!" Present Mic cheered as they all cleared the minefield and lunged for the finish line, all of them collapsing in a pile on the line.
"AND IT'S HAGAKURE!" Present Mic cheered as the invisible girl suddenly became visible, buried under the pile with her arm outstretched the furthest.
"That's my disciple!" Tien cheered as the crowd went wild.
"Who would've thought it'd be this close of a race." Krillin whistled, watching as Midnight and Mitsuki sorted through the pile of first years, carefully taking note of who had landed where for their positions in the second event.
"They had to stay on the track, and those obstacles did slow them down a bit." Yamcha pointed out, "and even then…"
"AND TODOROKI HAS REACHED THE MINEFIELD!"
"...they left the rest of their classmates in the dust." he finished, only Todoroki had reached the minefield, the rest were still half way through the fall.
"Guess we're pretty good teachers after all huh?" Krillin asked while laughing.
"There's still two more events." eighteen reminded him, making the man deflate.

"Congratulations Hagakure!" Izumi cheered alongside Uraraka, the two hoisting the swirly-eyed girl between them, "that was such a cool move you pulled off! How'd you learn to go…visible?"
"Master Tien helped me figure it out." she mumbled as she rubbed her eyes, smiling brightly at them, "ki control really helped me realize that I could control my quirk! All it took was mental fortitude!"
"And a plan to blind us all while we were gawking at you!" Uraraka exclaimed, face flush from the excitement of the race, "seriously! It was so surprising!"
"I think you almost caused Ojiro to crash!" Kirishima laughed as he nudged the tailed boy good naturedly, the boy immediately flushing as Hagakure turned invisible before her cheeks could burn. "Seriously manly! And that move you did Uraraka! Those zero pointers didn't stand a chance!"
"Who cares about that." Bakugo snapped, pushing Kirishima back, "who got second?"
The scoreboard began to update, Hagakure at the top, followed by Izumi, Kendo, Bakugo, Uraraka, Ojiro, Tetsutetsu and Kirishima, the latter two having tied but a quick game of rock paper scissors settled that.
"Alright! We're awesome!" Uraraka cheered.
"I guess third isn't bad." Kendo muttered to herself while Tetsutetsu preened at his position over his 'copy cat' and Bakugo seethed.
"Damn it! You losers got lucky!" Bakugo snapped, then pointed at Hagakure, jumped and popped back into existence in surprise at being seen by him, "AND YOU! I hope you get to the third event, Hagakure, Cause it'll make CRUSHING YOU THAT MUCH BETTER!" with that he stomped towards the water fountains.
"Did…he just call me by my name?" she asked in confusion.
"You should be honored," Mitsuki laughed as she walked by, "he barely calls his teachers by their actual names."
"She's right." izumi agreed as she looked to the finish line, where others were starting to finish. Todoroki at their head looking furious at his placement. While others looked relieved that they'd qualified at all, Izumi's smile disappeared as the giant appeared, the sleepy eyed teen sitting on his shoulder while he lightly jogged in at 41. Aoyama right behind him, bent over in pain.
"Wonder why he's holding back." Ojiro muttered as he stepped up to Izumi's side.
"He may be waiting for the tournament stage." Uraraka suggested, "he may not think it's worth it past that."
"Either way I can't wait!" Izumi cheered, punching the palm of her hand. "It's already been so exciting!"
"Alright everyone! Gather up!" Midnight called, prompting those who made the cut off to surround the stage, while the rest began filing into the stands, "For those of you who didn't make the cut, don't worry! We have mini games for you to shine in later!"
"But for now," Mitsuki began, stepping forward, "we'll continue on with the second event!" she pointed at the screen as it began running through the randomizer again.
"And it's a cavalry battle!" the two heroines cheered, "in groups of three or four your objective is to capture the other teams points! You'll be free to use quirks so long as you don't purposefully knock over another team's horse! And points will be decided by your placement in the race! With 42nd place starting with 5 points, and 41st with 10 and so on!"
"I get it, so add five from the bottom up, so Hagakure-" Ojiro began.
"-AND FIRST PLACE WILL BE 1 MILLION POINTS!"
Hagakure paled dramatically, almost going clear as everyone around her seemed to stare menacingly at her, "help." she eeped out.
