"...Ash Mongoose!" Antoine continued, signaling the technician himself to project his own player card on the screens. He did that, then opened the dark window to the stage and jumped out, being careful to not tear his baseball uniform. He was more than happy to accept a respectable amount of cheers.
Ash - Age: 17 - Height: 168cm - Looking For: Love. - Skills: Music, Financial Management, Baseball.
Antoine held in a suppressed laugh. "I may as well say now's the only time we're willing to grant anyone a backstage pass. Highest bidder on this man joins him in the control room!" Some moderate excited applause followed his statement.
"Shaded windows and all." Ash added, causing a couple of scattered shouts.
"Selfish fool…" Antoine groaned. "Before this boy gets too far ahead of himself, I'll once again start the bidding at a hundred pounds. Let's see what you got."
A very familiar face made the first bid. "That's Tangle the Lemur starting us off at a hundred! Do I see one fifty? Going for the next bid."
Quickly the one girl Ash hoped to see placed a bid. Antoine laughed. "Looks like we've got a conflict of interest here! Mina Mongoose has placed the one fifty! That's gonna be an interesting HR meeting. Anyone else?"
Tangle swiftly made her presence known with her reflexive two hundred pound bid. After her last appearance, she wasn't going to lose too easily. "That's two hundred pounds from Tangle the Lemur. I've heard she's got a good paycheck as a mercenary. Mina's got some good competition now!"
Before he could get another word out, she put out her next bid. "Boom! Here comes Mina! We've got some fierce competition for my boy Ash. I wouldn't be sur-"
Tangle stood to face Mina, hand to the sky to place another bid. Her confidence shot to the sky at that moment. "Comme un crise de colère, you child." Antoine scolded.
"That was really hot." Ash said, leaning to the microphone. Bunnie quickly snatched it from Antoine's hand, looking disappointed in both of them.
"That's three hundred pounds by Whisper the Wolf!" She cheered. Both Ash and Tangle stared at her. Whisper and Tangle had a quite extensive friendship, and now they competed for Ash's attention.
"Right in time, Tangle the Lemur bounces back with the 350 pound bid! Before long, I'd ex-Never mind! There's Whisper the Wolf setting the stakes at four hundred! Hopefully these friends don't hate each other over this man."
The staring grew more intense, the silence more aggressive. Tangle felt pressured into sitting down. Ash stared at her, confident she wouldn't let this one slide. The two locked eyes and she winked at him in response.
"Well, that's Whisper going once…" Bunnie started. "Mina Mongoose with the 450 pound bid! I didn't quite think the girls were through yet."
"Five. Hundred. Pounds." The line was familiar. In dramatic fashion, Tangle replaced the half grand bid. She put her feet up once again in an arrogant show of confidence.
"I like that." Ash stated into the microphone.
Bunnie pushed him aside. "I knew this would happen. Five hundred pounds; by Tangle the Lemur, going once, going twice, GOING OUT with Ash Mongoose!" She cheered, the reluctancy making itself obvious.
Ash prompted Tangle on stage, which she did with a front handspring.
Bunnie groaned. "Most arrogant couple I've ever seen." She looked to the sky. "May You have mercy on us all."
Ash took her right hand with his left and took her to sidestage, going up to the control room, where he wasted no time closing the shaded window.
"I've got a feeling they'll get along just fine." Bunnie sighed. "Now, I'd like to introduce you to one of our lesser known, yet skilled and valuable operatives…"
