THANK YOU AGAIN AND ENJOY, I OWN EZRI BUT NOT MARVEL

Ezri swallowed the thump in her throat as she approached the throne room where Odin nearly always resided. The guards were kind to her but their eyes always shifty, she didn't blame them either; her kind wasn't known for their kindness.

"May I assist?" A guard asked on approach.

"Forgive me," Ezri bowed kindly to the guard as she signed, "I request an audience with All-Father."

The guard looked back to Odin and nodded, and the guard stepped aside for Ezri. She approached the throne carefully, bowing to Odin as she stood before him. The way he sat, the way he watched her carefully; she understood why many feared him.

"Lady Ezri, to what do I owe this surprise visit?" Odin asked, surprised to see her there.

"I apologize for the sudden audience, but this couldn't wait…" Ezri signed, feeling nervous on how

"Very well, you have my attention. Speak." Odin spoke.

Ezri took a deep breath, swallowing her fear before she looked at him directly in the eye.

"I will be direct, King Almere has every intention of starting a war with Asgard," Ezri signed, "today was the day he had every intention of doing so by attacking the fisherman. He meant to kill them all and use that to send a message."

"I suspected as much, though I am not surprised. I assume his unsuccess was based on your involvement?" Odin spoke.

"Yes, All-Father. As a healer, I will not choose violence unless it is demanded. Your men were innocent in his attempt of greed. When I learned of it, I came here as fast as I could." Ezri signed.

Odin gave her a hard stare. He was never one to share his plans out loud, let alone for an attack or war. How could she know so much?

"How did you learn of this?" Odin asked carefully.

Ezri took another deep breath, frowning.

"He spoke of it with us. He…is my father. I'm the youngest." Ezri signed.

Odin's eye widened, surprised to see one of King Almere's children in such a position.

"That explains your knowledge and your prowess during your training. Why is your position a healer and not of royalty?" Odin wandered.

"My refusal to mate, All-Father. My people are not kind folk, as you well know. My mate options were extreme, and I don't wish for a war, when your people have been nothing but kind, yet firm with us. I won't let my future children fight an unnecessary war." Ezri signed.

"He pushed you aside." Odin said, in which she nodded in response.

"My people are not to respond to me when I sign, but the joke is on him; I don't like to talk to them." Ezri said, smiling in amusement.

"I appreciate you informing me, we will remain vigil. Know that you are welcome here in the meantime." Odin spoke.

"Thank you, All-Father." She signed before she bowed.

"In the meantime, do not tell my sons. I do not want this to cloud their judgement over you."

Months went by, Thor was ever vigil on her training with Loki as her partner from time to time. Ezri didn't want to admit it, but she saw them as her best friends, nearly inseparable from her arrival. Thor would collect her every morning and take her for her training or on simple runs through Asgard.

The people of Asgard had warmed her up, noticing the way both sons of Odin doted on her, and the way she was with the children. Ezri would always play with them, her smile contagious to anyone who crossed, but never stayed long alone.

Ezri was seen more with Loki throughout the night. He would read to her sometimes, allowing her to rest her head on his lap from time to time. Loki wasn't one to admit it, but he enjoyed his time with Ezri. He would play casual tricks on guards or on Thor and his friends, and Ezri would always cover for him, if not joining in on his trickery.

This morning was a big day for Ezri. She had mastered her skills with the bow, Thor making her go through a series of tests but passed without any issues. The deal was simple: the day that she mastered her archery, was the day that he'd take her on a walk through the forest.

Thor had learned of her frustration being trapped in Asgard castle walls and wanted to explore the woods at least once; claiming that they were calling to her. Thor amused her and decided to take her on the trip, with a reluctant Loki following them.

Ezri stayed close to Thor as she travelled the woods, touching everything she could get her hands on, but what she loved was the waterfall that she came face to face with. She gasped, smiling excitedly as she kicked off her shoes, walking into the water as she enjoyed the coolness.

"I didn't realize it before, but it's been a while since she's been in the water." Thor spoke, looking over to Loki briefly.

"Yes, well, the water was her home for her whole life. She's been trying to come here for a while now." Loki pointed out annoyingly. Ezri had been trying for months to come here, she could probably feel the pull of the water, but Thor wouldn't allow her or would stop Loki and Ezri from their attempts to escape.

"Is this the only water source in Asgard I can get access to?" Ezri asked.

"Why do you ask if this is the only water source?" Loki asked her, translating for Thor at the same time.

"Once a year, I need to be secluded. I'd…like for you both to think of it as a hibernation." Ezri explained.

"She wants us to think of it as hibernation, but she needs to be secluded once a year." Loki translated.

Thor spoke his mouth to respond but Ezri cut in, signing quickly.

"She said she'd…like to show us her world. And she'd like to show us her abilities when she's in the water." Loki translated.

Thor took a deep breath. Anyone else he'd say no for his own safety, but he'd grown close to Ezri. He looked forward to their trainings now, and seeing Loki being kind to her; he trusted her. He and Loki slowly approached her, and Ezri smiled, offering her hands outwards to them.

As Thor placed his hand into her small one, Loki noticed how cool her hands were but her constant smile never disappeared as he placed his hand over hers as well. Ezri closed her eyes, bringing her memories forward as the brothers were hit with them.

Water was swarming them as they watched in first person was Ezri, they assumed swimming at an alarming rate. Around her were other sirens, some with fins and others with human legs, but their bodies sparkled in gills. Some were in one color, others in multiple colors, and some didn't have any such shiny gills of their own.

They watched as she amongst the sea creatures, the children sirens attempting to chase each other's but bowed to them as Ezri stood before them. Ezri hugged them before she held out her palm, creating a mini tornado in her hand, making the children giggle as they stuck their finger inside the tornado.

Then, she was pulled back, hearing the children scurry away as King Almere stood before her with a slightly older man beside him.

"You missed your matchmaking meeting. You're lucky he was willing to meet you out here."

"King Almere-" Ezri signed, but King Almere slapped her hands.

"You will speak."

Her head shook.

"Insolence…. meet your future husband and a dear friend of mine, Beaumont. Beaumont, our beloved Ezri." King Almere introduced.

The older man had long blonde hair to his shoulders, his gill's a red/orange sequin design, his brown eyes piercing hers.

"Lady Ezri, what a pleasure to meet you."

"Pity, the same cannot be said about you." Ezri signed, but quickly noticed him looking to her father for assistance.

"She said a pleasure," King Almere lied, but Ezri narrowed her eyes when he grabbed her arm forcefully, "When we return from Asgard, you two are to be married."

Ezri thrashed against him, but he grabbed her throat, causing her to go still.

"You will obey."

Thor and Loki slowly pulled their hand away, stunned to see how different life was for her in the ocean, but what's more is that how her King Almere treated her.

"You were to be wed?" Loki asked, and Ezri frowned with a short nod.

"Why force you in such a position? Was it because of your position as the Head Healer?" Thor asked but she shook her head, signing something slowly.

Thor saw Loki's face drop, replaced with anger.

"King Almere is her father; she is the youngest daughter. She is sorry to hide that from us." Loki translated.

He wasn't mad at her specifically, but he was mad that her father used her in such a way. And to wed her off against her will; what parent would harm their child in such a way. But she hid that from them, did she have a hidden agenda?

"I already told Odin; he's been made aware. He…advised I didn't tell you but…I really treasure you guys…you're the first friends I've had. I'll understand if you don't want to be friends, or civil with me anymore. I didn't want to hide it anymore." Ezri signed.

"She told father and was told not to tell us. She…treasures us as her first friends and will understand if we don't speak with her but she didn't want to hide it anymore." Loki translate softly, considering her words.

Thor was hesitant by this news, but he could understand why she hid something like this. Judged, ridiculed…he could see why his mother accepted her with open arms. Frigga saw things that others couldn't but insisted she stay. This was why.

"I appreciate you telling us this, this changes nothing with me. You are a dear friend to me, Ezri." Thor said and saw a bright smile appear on her face.

Ezri looked hesitantly to Loki and bowed apologetically, feeling remorseful for her choices.

"I…suppose I'll forgive you this once," Loki answered, looking away with his head held high, "only if you show me that trick you promised us."

Ezri smiled and nodded, twirling in the water. The brothers immediately took a step back when a water tornado was created around her. The brothers watched in awe as the tornado moved from side to side, but there was no force trying to pull them in.

The tornado suddenly stilled, watching as it warped around them, revealing Ezri once more but the water now circled around the trio. The brothers saw native fish through the water, almost mesmerized before the water went back into the lake.

Loki was the first to notice that Ezri was wet but was mesmerized when he saw her skin. She was glistening from her gills, revealing blue, purple and green colors that reminded him of what Midgard called the Northern Lights. Thor thought she was a beautiful sight, but one look at Loki and he knew.

Loki was smitten.

A splash came from the water, hitting Thor in the face, and surprising Loki. Ezri busted out laughing, covering her mouth as she attempted to fight her giggles, but Thor and Loki couldn't help but laugh as well.

They finally heard her.

Loki slowly stopped, watching Ezri giggle, but was glad he finally had a sense of what she sounded like. She sounded pleasant; her giggle now stuck in his mind.

Thor looked at Loki and smirked as he finally calmed himself; Loki was indeed smitten.

Many years had passed since then, and Ezri never felt more at home anywhere than here. Thor knew he'd never admit it, but he saw the way Loki and Ezri had been together. Ezri would arrive at his room each night and each night he would read out loud to her, taking in each other's company, as always.

Thor would find the duo together sitting side by side, or Ezri's head on Loki's lap, or him leaning back against her back. During dinner, they always sat together, and even during training, she started to spar with him.

but Loki had spent the morning with his mother. Come afternoon, Thor and his friends had dwelled in their common room, drinking, and chatting amongst themselves.

Sif was closest seated to Thor always, staring at him longingly with her lovey-dovey eyes that made Loki nearly sick, with Fandral who was known to make a fool of himself. Volstagg would tell tales of his children as Hogun told tales that Loki had heard a million times.

Loki sat amongst them but quickly grew annoyed as he never heard the words that he expected of his brother. Night had come quickly, and Ezri was nowhere to be seen yet. Loki didn't like to be the pouty type but expected more from his brother. He always consoled Thor, being able to put him at ease quickly, and give his advice; strategical advice even. He had hopes Thor would at least remember what today was.

"So, Loki," Volstagg called out, "what is your relationship with Ezri?"

"She is a dear friend of mine…" Loki answered simply but looked at Volstagg curiously.

"Are you two more not more than friends then?" Fandral teased, ignoring Volstagg as he jabbed at his question.

"No, we are not." Loki stated, not liking where this was going.

"Don't suppose you'd let me take her out for a drink?" Fandral asked, flashing him a wink.

Loki was annoyed, if not enraged by his behavior but he refused to let Fandral get under his skin.

"I'll be retiring, you all have a good evening." Loki said, leaving without another word as he heard Thor's friends call on him to stay.

"Your brother can be a bit moody sometimes, can't he?" Fandral teased, but Thor shrugged.

"He has been all day, can't imagine why." Thor admitted before he took another ale from the server.

Making his way back to his room, Loki swung the door open when he saw Ezri sitting on his bed with a box beside her.

"Happy birthday celebration!" Ezri signed, smiling excitedly to him.

"You remember…" Loki said, chuckling happily, delighted to know she remembered.

"Of course, I did, you're dear to me, Loks." Ezri said kindly, playfully saying his new nickname to him.

"Loks, I'll allow it this once," Loki said, smirking at Ezri as he slowly approached her, "is that for me?"

"I had to pick them up without you noticing, I hope you like them." Ezri signed before she grabbed the box, handing him over the box.

Loki sat down on the bed as he put the box in his lap, smiling to her in gratitude. His mother had gifted him new Asgardians daggers, and his mind couldn't help but wander what she'd gift him.

Opening the box, he saw a book that looked newly bonded, a smile on his lips he took it out. It was a beautiful dark brown leather with 'Siren Tales' engraved into the leather, and he looked over to Ezri curiously.

"I wrote all the tales I knew about from my home. I hope you like it." Ezri explained, Loki's eyes widened in surprise.

"You did? I imagine that took forever." Loki pointed out.

"Oh, ages." Ezri confessed, "But, I knew it was worth it if you liked it."

"I'll cherish this, my siren, thank you." Loki said, smiling as he brushed his hand over the book delicately.

Ezri put her closed fist over the book, catching his attention one more before she slowly opened her hand. Loki noticed in her hand a small vial attached to a leather. What caught his attention was inside the vial was a familiar gill: it was Ezri's.

"Trying to not make it creepy, but I wanted you to have something of mine." Ezri signed.

Flashes of their time in the woods all those years ago came back through his mind, and his small smile grew.

"Tis a bit creepy."

Ezri giggled, making Loki chuckle as she swatted his arm.

"A pity I can't hear your voice…" Loki said softly, making Ezri frown at his request.

Ezri took his hands into hers, and he looked over at her curiously. Ezri took a deep breath, taking a hard swallow as she breathed out.

"…Happy Birthday Loki."

Loki stared intently into her eyes in disbelief, bringing a hand up to cup her cheek. Ezri blushed, Loki smiling now ridiculously.

"You have a lovely voice, Ezri. Say something else." Loki insisted.

"Don't get used to this. It's only because it's your birthday." Ezri said, rolling her eyes playfully.

Loki chuckled once more but froze when his eyes connected to her lips, and Ezri felt her nerves build in her stomach. He hesitantly leaned in, pulling her with him. He took it as a good sign when he felt her hand lay over his, Ezri closing her eyes before he gently pressed his lips against hers, closing his eyes in the moment.

The kiss started slow, if not hesitant, but soon Loki dominated the kiss. He laid her back onto the bed, pressing against her as she moaned against his mouth, burying her hands into his hair when he ran his hands over her body. His tongue invaded her mouth, both fighting for control before Ezri gave herself into his kiss.

CRACK

"Brother, I forgot it was your- ahh!"

Ezri pushed Loki off and scrambled out of the room, blushing embarrassingly as she ran to her room. Loki looked in frustration at Thor, who was smiling stupidly.

"She looked happy."

Ezri had barely reached her room when she was grabbed, fighting against the assailant as she was dragged blindly. The alarm went off, Ezri glad that Heimdall was quick to call for help but Ezri fought relentlessly as she felt herself being lifted in the air.

"Goodbye, sister."

Ezri felt thrown backward, tearing off the bag over her head, when she saw her sister smiling at her before she ran off.

Ezri hissed as she fell through a bright tunnel, trying to balance herself as she was suddenly thrown into the water. Ezri shifted into her siren form, noticing on her wrist was a metallic bracelet; it was her people's technology.

Ezri surfaced the water, looking around before she looked up in the sky.

"Heimdall, I'm here!" Ezri shouted, panting heavily as she began to freak out.

She didn't know where she was, but she could tell it was an ocean of some kind. The night sky had different stars; she wasn't in Asgard. She began to cry, panicking as she called for Heimdall once more. Thoughts of Thor and Loki invaded her mind, their banters, her kiss with Loki.

She wanted to go home.

"How could this have happened!?" Loki shouted, pacing in the entrance of Asgard.

"It seems the daughter of King Almere came with a small group of men, one of them was caught and confessed." Thor explained.

"Heimdall, have you located her?" Odin asked, his wife standing beside him in support.

"I can hear her, but I cannot pinpoint her, nor can I reach her. I will continue trying." Heimdall answered.

"Allow me to send men to Asgard, father-"

"You will do no such thing, Thor!" Odin shouted.

"Let us allow Heimdall to find her, it's the best choice." Frigga assure them, but her eyes were on Loki.

Loki was taking it the hardest, pacing feverishly, his hand running through his hair as he thought of Ezri. Their kiss, her voice, her giggle, her gifts to him…

"Come brother, let us see if we can gather more from the prisoner. We'll get her back." Thor swore.
