A little boy was waking up in his room, the date was April 17 and that meant it was his birthday knowing this the little boy shot out of his bed at light speed. The little boy walked over to his bedroom door and opened it. As soon as he opened it he saw a banner just outside of his room in the hallway.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY LANDO!" was on the banner seeing this Lando was smiling ear to ear, he walked out into the kitchen and saw his mom cooking something.
"Mom!" Lando says as he walks over and gives his mother a hug.
The boy's mother looked at her little boy to see him smiling like he just got a one way ticket out of the Underground. It made her happy to see him smiling like that.
"Mornin' you little munchkin." a lady said
Lando whipped his head around and saw a lady sitting at the kitchen table.
"Auntie Joyce?" Lando asks
"The one and only." Joyce replied
"Hey Ophelia, when is breakfast going to be ready?" Joyce asks
"I don't know, maybe if you helped me it would be quicker, you lazy bum." Ophelia retorts
"But if I did that I wouldn't be able to do this." Joyce said before scooping Lando up and holding him upside down and tickling him.
"If you drop him there will be hell to pay." Ophelia says to Joyce
"Aye captain" Joyce replies " Lando your mom called in a few favors for this day so you better be thanking her."
"Favors? What did she do?" Lando asks
"Ophelia tell him." Joyce asks
"Well there was a smuggler that got shot and he somehow got to my doctor's office. I operated on him and saved his life and in return, he owed me a favor." Lando nods at this, not really understanding it. " So today I called in that favor and he smuggled me some Pancake Mix and Birthday cake mix, I also know how to make my own frosting so we are all set there."
"What is a birthday cake?" Lando asks
"It's a sweet that tastes amazing but it is very rare around here so I was never able to acquire it, until now." Ophelia says to her son
"Awesome!" Lando replies with stars in his eyes.
10 minutes later the food was done so they ate, Lando was very happy with how it tasted. Lando and his mom left with Joyce before parting ways, with Lando and Ophelia heading to her doctor's office. Lando liked to be at his mother's office. Sometimes people would even stop by for appointments and give him candy, the first time he ever had candy it felt like he was levitating.
"Lando, come here!" his mom yelled
Lando walked over to where she was already preparing an excuse for whatever she accused him of doing. He immediately sees what looks like to be a man with a finger that just looked green. It was disgusting.
"Lando I'm going to need your help with this" Ophelia asked
"Uh don't think I like a 4 year old operating on me." The man said.
"He will be fine, don't worry about it." Ophelia retorts
"Lando his finger is infected and needs to be amputated. I am going to need you to hold this in his mouth." Ophelia handed him some weird looking stick.
"Uh.. alright mom." Lando replied
He did as told and the man bit down on the stick thing before Ophelia asked the man "Are you ready?"
"No time like the present." The man said
"Ok 3..2…1" Ophelia said before she cut the finger off, the man was biting so hard down on the stick thing that Lando thought it was going to break any time now. It didn't help that the man was yelling with his mouth closed. Ophelia bandaged his finger up and told Lando to go back to the waiting room and he did as told.
Lando sat there for the remainder of the time at the office before his mom came out and said "Lando it's time to go home."
"Ok, mom." Lando replied
Lando and Ophelia left the office and grabbed his mom's hand and they walked home.
The two of them got to their home, opened the door and went inside, Lando walked over to the bookshelf, grabbed a children's story book then he walked over to the couch and got comfy.
"Ok Lando I'm going to go take a shower, then make your birthday cake if Aunite Joyce gets here before I'm out tell her I'm in the shower got it?" Ophelia asked her child
"Loud and clear" Lando said
Ophelia got out of the shower, got dressed then walked out into the living room to see Lando sleeping with an open book on his chest. She sits right next to him and starts caressing his soft black hair for a little while before kissing the top of his forehead and walking towards the kitchen, "How did I get so lucky to have a child like that." Ophelia thought with a smile.
They had a chimney with a fire place so Ophelia started the fire and when the fire was hot enough she put her unbaked cake over it. Just after she did that the door swung open and Joyce yelled "I GOT PRESENTS!" Ophelia face palmed and Lando yelped then fell off the couch onto the hard wood floor." oww '' he complained, Ophelia and Joyce started laughing.
A little while later the cake was made Ophelia started putting her homemade chocolate frosting on it and 5 candles on it before lighting them. They sang Lando happy birthday then Ophelia sliced the cake and dished out each one of them a piece. The two older women waited for Lando to take the first bite when he did. His eyes started sparkling.
"Mom." was all Lando said.
"Yes dear?" Ophelia responds hoping she didn't mess anything up
"This might be the greatest thing that was ever invented" Lando said
That made Ophelia and Joyce start dying laughing before they started eating their own pieces of cake.
When they finished the cake it was present time Joyce went first, Lando opened up her bag and saw a new pair of shoes. Lando immediately put them on and started running around the house before running over to Joyce saying "THANK YOU AUNTIE JOYCE!" and giving her a big hug.
"You're welcome you little munchkin" Joyce replied giving him a return hug
Ophelia had a small box she gave to Lando. He opens it inside he sees a small little dagger and a picture, the picture was of a man with a blank face with raven hair, and an undercut.
"Lando, that right there is your father." Ophelia said with a nervous smile. After Levi and the others got taken away his dagger that he dropped stayed there Ophelia went over to pick it up and went to the gang's hideout house and grabbed whatever keep sakes she could find.
Joyce, seeing what was going on, decided it was time to leave. "I'm going to head out now."
Ophelia and Lando said their goodbyes, Ophelia decided that it was time for Lando to know about his father
"Ok, Lando, do you know what the Survey Corps is?" Ophelia asked her kid
"Yes, Auntie Joyce told me about them." Lando replied.
Well, that makes this easier Ophelia thought "Ok have you heard about Humanity's Strongest Soldier?" Ophelia asked
"I heard some gossip about him in your office." Lando replied. "About how he has the highest titan kill count out of any soldier, and how that he is the best with ODM gear."
"Yes, and that man is your father Lando." Ophelia told him
"Wait what?" Lando said "How?"
"Lando, your father, Humanity's Strongest Soldier was born in the underground." Ophelia said, "His name is Levi, he doesn't have a last name and neither do I, that is why you don't have a last name as well."
"Tell me about him," Lando asked his voice quiet.
"He was strong, firm and can be mean but if you get to know him he's nice about it. He was the best fighter I have ever seen, he was a master of ODM gear but you already know that. And he would have loved you." Ophelia said
"Can I meet him?" Lando asked
Ophelia thought about it, at first when hearing about a soldier in the scouts that was the strongest named Levi she knew it was him, Lando was about 3 at the time she heard that. To say she was pissed would be an understatement she was furious. How could he leave her and their child behind like that? But the more she thought about what was he supposed to do he was a member of the scouts and she never even told him about Lando to begin with.
"One day" Ophelia told her son "Now get to bed it's late."
Lando groaned before saying "Ok Mom.." and walked into his room.
Lando went into his room and put the dagger and picture on his nightstand before drifting off to sleep wondering what it must be like if his father was here.
