The main cannons of the 'Elemental's Freedom went off nonstop aiming at destroyers, frigates, and cruisers nearby. The massive triple barrel cannons of the ship had the capabilities of outranging the Covenant vessels. In addition to this the cannons had the firepower to wreck any ship without shields and heavily damaged those with. It was noticed by the Covenant when 4 frigates went down with the first few salvos. As the ships started to enclose on them stationary MAC guns started going off with numerous missiles and other cannons and beams.

"Kora lock up the dome's from damage" ordered Hiruzen as Kora snapped her fingers. In front of the bridge where there were domes containing cities in them started having metal armored plates that shaped over them. When they fully covered them, a secondary shielding activated over them giving them additional protection.

"Precious Justice activate aggressor sentinels. Form two main groups. Group A will make a defensive perimeter around the ship and B will attack. Primary focus will be boarding craft. Secondary will be the enemies air support. Constructor Sentinels will focus on repair and maintenance. Enforcer will be boarding craft. Protector Sentinels are to focus on ships and aircraft" he added as the A.I. gave a nod. From different ports around the ship Sentinels start exiting preferring different tasks.

"All other forces are to launch and perform defensive perimeters around the ship. All able ground forces are to activate and spread out through the ship in the event of boarding" he finished as the closest Covenant Cruiser came into range and fired a beam at the ship. The beam enclosing on it landed a direct hit. Around the area of the hit a blue shield was shown to show that the ship was powered by a powerful shield. In return for the attack one of the main cannons rotated and fired a few rounds into the ship smashing into the Covenant shields rupturing them, followed by an explosion of main sections being destroyed.

From within the ship Shortsword's, Longsword's, Baselard's, hornet's, and pelicans were scrambling to leave the ship for combat. Marines and troopers were arming up and spreading out through the ship. Vehicles were parked at the entrances of the bay aiming for any attempted breach. In small groups Spartans were starting to split up to defend different sections of the ship.

It as if the distance combat slowly increased with activity until the feeling of sudden fingers snapping it was close combat all around. Covenant ships firing at the Elemental's Freedom who returned fire back at them. Massive air to air combat taking place all around. A Covenant Spirit moved in close for a boarding action only for an Enforcer Sentinel to sweep down upon it and crush it with its limbs. Like many other Covenant ships that tried boarding actions, they were eliminated by different protecting forces.

A group of five spirits using an exploding destroyer as cover swooped in aiming for the launch bay. From the side an Enforcer crushed one and a Protector beamed one to pieces. The three remaining managed to enter inside only for a hail of gunfire to meet them. Immediately one exploded until a flaming wreckage. As the other two started landing a massive pedal from a nearby Juggernaut smashed into the top of one flattening it against the ground in another explosion.

As the last spirit started unloading troops off, they got mowed down behind the combined defensive firepower. A few rocket launchers and grenades had finished off the last spirit.

Outside

With the Covenant ships now closer and doing more damage to the ship, the idea for them was to place some ships over it to use their glassing beams to do heavy damage. While extremely effective it left them very vulnerable for the stationary MAC guns to hit the belly of the ships. With multiple glassing beams going off in different sections allowed for the shields to fail in certain areas making the hull take damage but in return, numerous ships were now crashing to the ground in flames.

It seemed like this dance went on for hours when it truly wasn't that long before both forces called it quits. The small remaining forces of the Covenant pulled back following a destroyer to the exit while the heavily battle-damaged Elemental's Freedom moved to the surface to perform repairs.

Bridge

Naruto walked into the bridge to see some sparks go off to the side as damage control personnel went to work repairing the area. He could see outside the bridge, that the hull was covered in plasma burns and holes. The dome's had a few plasma damage but held up perfectly.

"Status" he asked as Kora appeared on the console.

"We have sustained damage on numerous locations. Damage control is working on halting further damage and performing repairs. Casualties are at a minimum and any boarding personnel that had managed to get on have been wiped out. It is recommended we land so we can turn off some systems in order to make repairs to it" she finished as Naruto looked to the Admiral to see if it was possible

"Find the most secured location to do so and land. Deploy our forces around the landing location to secure the area. Use proper protection when outside. We do not know if the Flood is in these areas as well" ordered Hiruzen to which the crew went to work on scanning and lowering the ship.

"We also must reestablish contact with the Spirit of Fire to get their status. I can take a squad and support them when we get their location" added Naruto

"Do so once our location is secured. I will feed their location once I get the information. For now, take a few squads and scout the area" he finished as Naruto nodded and walked out to get the squads.

A few elevators and lifts later he was walking through the bay. "You, you, and you. With me" he stated pointing to three squads as he walked to the nearby pelicans to get a lift to the surface. With the squads situated on the pelicans they were off into the sky heading for the surface.

With the Pelicans

The back of a pelican opened the hatch for Naruto to take a look at the surface. From the looks of things, it seemed like a clear surface and with his sights he was able to zoom in to see a large forerunner structure. It seemed like another entrance and exit from within the planet. Maybe they should secure that area later.

Landing the pelican after do a quick air sweep he immediately got the squads to securing the area. He first had the edge of the clearing searched and once cleared ordered a base to land in that location. With the base landing and operating he had the squads push out while ordering more squads to arrive and secure more areas. It didn't take long before the whole clearing was secured with bases at each point. With the security being established the Elemental's Freedom came lowering down and landing in the center to unload massive number of forces to set up bigger patrols, security, and repairs.

He was looking at the reports on a pad inside one of the bases as while the patrols started pushing out to secure more areas and locations they started running into Covenant and Flood forces. Reports had come in to say that they were holding out against them, which was good, but he didn't know for how long.

"I see you are hard at work" spoke up a voice gaining his attention. Looking up he could see Catherine walking up to him. She was dressed in her unform as before being a sealed suit to protect from elements of the outside with white marine body armor over it. Over that she wore her white lab coat.

"I would assume you would be with those engineers learning all you can about them?" he questioned as she gave a nod. It was a really good assumption after all. "I would like to but they are currently settling in to a new location we designate for them" she answered pulling out her pad to show him a video. On the pad was a video feed showing the engineers in one of the dome's in an open grass field. They were putting together some strange structure.

"They are nesting. Making an area for them to live in. Once they are fully settled in with the new home we will get to work. But since they are doing that, I'm here to learn all I can about this planet if you call it that" she stated tapping a button on the pad to show a 3d image of the planet they were on.

"As you can see the planet is hollow to the point that there is another living surface. Precious Justice was able to get some scans and information on this planet to show that this whole thing was built by her creators. It is absolutely stunning to here about their creation abilities. Makes me wonder what else were they capable of doing"

"And now you are here so you can find out about that and explore" he added as she smirked at him telling him he already knew the answer to that statement. "Reports are coming in that while the remaining Covenant fleet has pulled away, they still have a ground force presence. There is also the flood to manage as well. Then we are still awaiting a report from the Spirit of Fire. Depending on their situation we might have to pull out fast. The ship has sustained heavy damage as well. It has put a stop to all upgrades and projects" he finished crossing his arms and looking down on her.

"Well, I understand that. I just want to visit a nearby area"

"And let me guess, PJ told you about this area which would give you all the information you want. You also want me to escort you there as you don't know if there are enemies nearby"

"You hit the nail right on the head. So, you ready to go Fireteam Kilo is on standby right outside?" she pointing to a window that showed the fireteam standing next to two warthogs.

"Fine. I'll notify the Admiral and then we can get going. This information might prove useful to us with finding out the situation going on with this planet" he stated following her as she walked outside the base and got into the passenger seat. Hopping into the turret seat was Naomi-010 who manned the gun.

With that confirmation he took off heading for the location that Catherine was showing on her pad. While it was supposed to be a small structure, PJ said that it contained a terminal that should give them access to this planet information.

With the terrain being a mixture of swamp and forest, it took the vehicles some time to get to the location but once they came closer to the location they ran into a small problem. Well for the Spartan's it was just an annoyance. A small Covenant patrol was guarding the site.

"Spartan Team Kilo, clear out the area" he ordered to which the four Spartan's dismounted and move into position to clear the location.
