Arriving at the hospital, Destiny was overwhelmed with all sorts of emotions and even waves of pain, but she had to quickly push it back as she adjusted her leather gloves. Bucky immediately grasped her arm when she noticed her sway, clinging to him tightly as she took deep breaths.

"I'll be fine, it's just overwhelming at places like this." Desi spoke.

"What do you need?"

"Can I have your arm, just in case?" she asked, squeezing his regular arm.

Bucky nodded, guiding her into the hospital.

Finding their way to the VIP floor, the duo walked out into the floor and saw Tony down the hall standing there with another person they had never met before.

The unknown man placed a hand on Tony's shoulder, nodding his head toward her direction, and Desi smiled when Tony finally turned to see her. He flashed a pained smile, noticing him covered in cuts and scrapes on his arms and face. When she finally was within arm's reach, Tony pulled her into a quick side hug.

"Thank you for coming…Desi, this Rhodes; Rhodes this is Desi." Tony introduced.

Desi shook Rhodes's hand and smiled, "Hello, nice to meet you." Desi said;

"Pleasure as well, Tony told me about you. Not going to lie, we could really use you right now." Rhodes said.

Tony looked at him questionably, but Angel smiled regardless.

"I'm ready to help, what's happened?" Desi asked.

Tony walked her over to a window and Angel frowned when she saw Pepper.

Pepper was lying in the hospital bed asleep, connected to various machines; she knew this was affecting Tony.

"She was experimented on; something in her is making it hard for the doctor to operate on her. Her body fights them whenever they start working on her as if it's protecting itself, so they've been unsuccessful to remove it," Tony looked over at Desi again, "I normally wouldn't ask but I didn't know what else to do…"

"I'm more than happy to help Tony, you never need to ask." Desi assured him.

"Thank you…" Tony said softly, waving his hand over to the door for her.

She looked up at Bucky and flashed him a smile as she released her hold on his arm, seeing Bucky's eyebrows furrowed with concern.

"I'll be right back." Desi said before she entered the room. The doctors quickly dressed her in coverings and a cap, but she refused the gloves. She took off her gloves and pocketed them before she sat beside Pepper.

Taking Pepper's hand into hers, Desi let out a deep breath as she cleared her of all emotions before they began. For the first few minutes, everything was fine until her body began to glow, and the doctors froze; their gaze immediately going over to Desi. She closed her eyes and felt the boiling anger, surprised originally, but quickly pushed those emotions. She felt it coming back and watched as her hands glow, the red glow slowly disappearing.

The doctors immediately got to work, taking them a couple of hours, but they were finally able to remove everything from Pepper's system. Desi finally stopped and sighed, her body was exhausted, but she pushed herself onto her feet. As Desi stood up, she spun around, realizing it was Tony, hugging her tightly.

"Thanks, kid. I won't forget this." Tony told her, and she hugged him back.

"It was nothing, I'm just glad you both are okay." Desi told him, but he pulled back, letting out a shaky breath.

Something told her he doesn't hug people socially.

"I need to do a procedure in a moment, do you think…you can stick around?" Tony asked, throwing a glance over to Bucky as well.

"Of course, I'll stay." She said, smiling in agreement.

"We'll both stay." Bucky agreed.

"Thanks, I need to go prepare now." Tony said, walking out of the room with Rhodes following behind him.

Desi left so Pepper could finally rest and sat on the waiting chairs along the walls. Desi watched Bucky sit beside her but was surprised when he pulled her head against his shoulder.

"Sleep, I've got you." Bucky told her.

Desi smiled and wrapped her arm around Bucky's, making herself comfortable as she closed her eyes. She felt his hand on hers, and she slowly opened her eyes when she felt his hand enter her pocket. She waited patiently as he slid her gloves on, making her smile that he took care of her in such a way.

"Thank you, Buck." She said, yawning before she closed her eyes.

Bucky waited until he heard her steady breathing, the weight on her head now heavy on his arm. Her phone kept ringing with Wade's and Weasel's names flashing across but turned off her phone to allow her this moment.

….?...

"Mr. Barnes?"

Bucky looked up and saw a ginger-haired woman standing beside Rhodes in front of him.

"I'm Pepper. Is this….is this Destiny?" Pepper asked softly, a soft smile on her face.

"Des, wake up." Bucky spoke, softly shaking Desi awake.

Desi yawned as she woke up, rubbing her eye when she looked around her settings. She smiled and quickly stood when she saw Pepper, Bucky standing with her.

"I'm so glad to finally meet you, Tony talks a lot about you. I'm Pepper Potts." Pepper told Desi, offering her hand.

"I'm excited to meet you too! Tony spoke preciously of you, I'm Destiny. Please call me Desi, though." Desi spoke with a big smile, shaking Pepper's hand.

Pepper pulled Desi into a tight hug, making Pepper happy when Desi hugged her back.

"I'm so grateful to you. Thank you for helping not just me, but Tony also. I'm glad he has someone like you on the team." Pepper said.

She could see why Tony saw her in such a kind way.

"I'm just glad I can help, and that you're both alright. Are you in any pain?" she asked as Pepper released her, allowing Desi to take off a glove.

"Oh no, I'll be fine…" Pepper tried to assure her, but Desi smiled as she touched Pepper's arm bare arm. Pepper felt her whole body go warm, her aches, pains, and soreness went in an instant. She let out a soft sigh when she felt at peace for a moment, a smile on her face.

"Can we keep her?" Pepper teased, making Desi laugh and Bucky smirk, "that's amazing…"

"Please look out for Tony for me." Pepper told her as she grabbed Desi's shoulders gently.

Desi smiled, "I promise."

Tony had finished his procedure and was perfectly fine, but he was growing restless, and that was never good for anyone.

"Tony, you need to rest." Pepper urged Tony but he shook his head.

"I hate hospitals, besides, I'm fine." Tony told her as he slipped on his shoes.

"Unbelievable, you're still in recovery, Tony!" Pepper yelled at him.

"I'll get over it, I'll rest at home." Tony told her, but she rolled her eyes.

"You mean the home that was destroyed?" Pepper reminded him.

He smirked, "For now, we'll stay at the Stark Tower. But that means we can go house shopping together." He told her.

"You can't just…can someone get me Desi, please?" Pepper yelled, walking towards the door.

"Good idea, she can make sure I get out of here." Tony told Pepper as he slipped on his shoes.

Pepper ignored him as Desi came jogging in, Bucky following behind her.

Pepper smiled, noticing Bucky's hard stares on Desi.

"Everything alright-Why on earth is Tony up?" she asked, noticing Tony now leaning against the window, tying his shoes.

"He's being Tony. I know you've done so much for us, but can you heal him for me, please?" Pepper asked.

Desi chuckled but nodded with a smile.

"Yeah, I'll get him." Desi said, walking into the room.

Tony smirked when he saw Desi's amused smile on her face.

"Come on, Sir Tony, let's heal you up, get out of here." Desi said, offering her left hand.

"You're doing me a favor, kid, thanks." Tony said, placing his hand in hers.

He felt shivers through his body when he felt all his aches and pains leave his system.

"Pepper is amazing, by the way. Take good care of her." Desi told him softly.

Tony nodded, his mind still fresh with what took place with the Mandarin, but she was right; Pepper still loved him and didn't blame him for this.

"We're heading back to the Stark Towers, but why don't you join us tonight and sleep over at the compound? My treat." Tony asked her.

"I have dogs I can't really leave alone tonight." Desi answered, oblivious to Bucky's stare.

"Bring them, it'll be fine with me." Tony assured her.

"Oh, yeah sure, I'll stop by and pick them up." Desi spoke.

"Thanks, now let's break out of here." Tony told Desi before heading towards the exit as soon as she released his hand.

…..?...

When Desi arrived with her dogs, Chewy latched onto Bruce and Nat, making Desi giggle at his closeness with Nat more than anything. Chip stayed close beside her the entire time, but Clint and Steve were nowhere to be seen.

The team had dined together over burgers, which Desi didn't tell anyone before, but she had a thing for hamburgers; they were fast, cheap, and mostly tasty for her. The team had divided for bedtime and Desi took her long overdue shower and settled into her bed.

Desi was hoping to say goodnight to Bucky, but she decided against it. Bucky stuck by Desi's side on the entire trip and didn't want to push herself on anyone, regardless of their intimate moment back at the apartment. Putting on some spare black shorts, a white sports bra, and a white oversized shirt Tony gave her; sliding into bed and letting her fatigue take over her.

Desi didn't know how long she had slept, but she woke up to the sound of screams. Desi pulled the sheets off her and went out into the hallway, and realized they were coming from Bucky's room. Desi ran into the room and saw him thrashing and sweating, mumbling as she realized he was in a nightmare again.

Desi took a hard swallow; he was once an assassin and had to be very careful with approaching him. She slowly crept into the bed with him and noticed Bucky was shirtless but saw the sweat on his chest. She calmly placed her hand on Bucky's chest and absorbed his emotions, suddenly gasping in surprise when he rolled over and pinned her down on his bed, his eyes wide and alert as he panted heavily.

"Buck…" Desi said softly.

Bucky blinked a couple of times and remembered where he was and lessened his grip on Desi.

"What are you doing here?" Bucky asked her.

"I'm so sorry, I heard you screaming, and I came to check on you. Are you okay?" Desi asked, smiling apologetically.

Bucky nodded, feeling calm when he felt her familiar magic.

Bucky took Desi's left hand into his right hand and sighed, dropping his forehead onto her shoulder, feeling the peaceful bliss he missed.

This is what he needed.

He needed her.

Desi was unsure of what to do, so she ran her hands through Bucky's hair before resting on his back, patting him in comfort.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Desi asked but felt Bucky shake his head.

He couldn't trust himself to speak, let alone look at her.

Desi stayed in that position until Bucky finally pulled himself up, noticing the position he had her in.

Bucky felt Desi's soft legs against his, her brown eyes piercing his blue ones. Bucky cupped Desi's cheek when he saw her smile, the same smile she always gave him.

Desi felt his emotion again, it was peace when Bucky looked at her that way and she was happy that he was comfortable with her.

"Stay with me." Bucky blurted in a whisper, but she nodded.

"Okay, I'll stay." Desi said without hesitation.

Bucky rolled off Desi and faced the ceiling, but he never released her hand as fell asleep once more.

Desi stayed awake a bit longer to ensure he fell asleep before closing her eyes.

…..?...

The morning had come, and Desi had awoken first, blushing profusely when she woke up on her side. Desi looked down cautiously to see an arm around her waist with her back pressed against something hard.

Desi felt and saw Bucky's metal hand on her bare stomach, and she felt his stubble chin on her exposed shoulder. Desi wasn't sure what happened but when she felt Bucky adjust his chin, a shiver ran over her body and a foreign feeling of ache went through her.

What?

Desi felt goosebumps run through her body, only praying Bucky didn't feel that.

"Where is she?!"

Desi sat up on the bed, Bucky already up and alert.

"Whoa, Thunder, you can't just come barging in there-"

"I need Lady Destiny!"

Desi had just climbed out of bed when the door busted open, seeing Thor standing there, panting with his hammer in hand.

"Thor?" Desi questioned as Thor approached her, Bucky jumping over to stand between them.

"I'm afraid I require your assistance. I'll explain once we arrive." Thor said, his eyes alert but Desi could feel him panicking.

Before she could've responded, Thor pushed Bucky out of the way, but Bucky grabbed Thor's arm tightly, preventing Thor from moving any closer.

Thor looked deadly at Bucky, and Tony carefully walked in.

"Alright, you two, no need to fight-"

Thor grabbed Bucky by the collar, but Desi immediately intervened.

"Not in the bedrooms, let him go!" Desi exclaimed.

Thor pushed Bucky back before Thor lifted Desi, throwing her over his shoulder.

She yelped as Thor walked out of the room, and she was alarmed.

"I'll have her returned as soon as possible." Thor told them.

"Can I at least say goodbye?" Desi asked, noticing Bucky being held back by Tony's arm.

"One minute, no more than that." Thor said over his shoulder before putting Desi down.

Desi frowned, looking at Tony and Bucky as she approached them.

"Thank you for everything Tony, can you help watch my dogs?" Desi asked, offering her hand.

"Will do kid but behave up there, okay?" Tony told her, shaking her hand back.

As Desi released his hand, she looked over to Bucky.

Bucky looked aggravated, but he clasped a hand on Desi's shoulder.

"Don't do anything stupid." Bucky told her.

"I will try, I'll make you proud." Desi said, mimicking Bucky's gesture.

Bucky was hesitant, but Desi could tell he was struggling.

"We must go now." Thor insisted.

Buck stopped Desi, causing her to look up at him one last time as he rested, he patted the top of her head gently.

"I'll be waiting for you here when you get back." Bucky said softly.

She smiled and nodded before Thor gently grabbed her arm, pulling her back against him before they disappeared from the balcony.

Thor carefully placed Desi down as she clutched onto him, trying to regain her balance as she saw the beautiful dome room, they were now standing in.

"Oh wow, this is beautiful, Thor." Desi said, looking around the room.

"Thank you, and welcome to Asgard, Lady Destiny."

Thor smiled when she whirled over to him, her eyes widened when she saw Heimdall.

"Oh, hi! Who are you?" she asked.

"I am Heimdall, I am a god who sees, and hears all. It's a pleasure to finally meet you."

"Pleasure to meet you too…" she said with a smile before looking over to Thor.

"I really want to say hi to you, but you said you needed me. How can I help?" she asked, putting on her work face.

"It's my father, take my hand." Thor said, offering her hand.

She put her hand in his before he pulled her with him.

He guided her out of the dome before he pulled her tightly against him and used his hammer to fly toward the kingdom.

She buried her head into his chest at the velocity they were going until she felt her feet touch the ground.

"We've been fighting remnants of Chitauri's, and my father was injured in battle. I normally wouldn't ask for help but…he's, my father." Thor explained the situation, leading her towards a double door.

The doors were swung open, revealing multiple women in Asgardian fashion bowing to them, and Desi panicked for a moment. He smiled at her hesitation and tugged on her hand, encouraging her to step forwards.

"These women will prepare your presentation to my father. I'll take you to him as soon as you're done." He told her.

"Why can't I see him right now?" she looked down at what she was wearing and blushed, realizing what she wore.

"Got it, I'll be quick." She said with a smile.

"I'll be right outside." He stated.

She nodded as he left her alone with the women, their faces lit up in excitement.

Lord, give her strength.

Thor paced back and forth, waiting patiently for her until he finally heard the double doors. He smiled in relief until he stopped, taking her attire.

She wore a beautiful teal dress with an embroidered silver and gold design going down her tight-fitted dress with a cloth going over the right shoulder and tucked into the corset; her sleeves were mesh, exposing her arms. The bottom part had a see-through mesh flowy bottom overlay with dark teal underneath. On her left shoulder, she had a flowing cape tucked behind her armored left shoulder with her feet poking out in silver boots.

"Is it bad?" she asked, noticing her hair was braided to the back, with pieces of silver and gold to complement her ensemble.

"Beautiful, as always, Lady Destiny." He said, bringing her hand up, and kissing her knuckles.

"Thank you, Thor. Now please, take me to your father." She said with a smile, blushing horribly.

He nodded, hooking her arm with his as he guided her down the long hall.

"So, tell me, who is your father?" she asked curiously.

"He is Odin, also known as All-Father. He rules all of Asgard alongside my mother, Queen Frigga." He explained.

"Oh, that's pretty amazing." She said; it's not every day that she met a god.

"He may be a bit of a hardhead, but please, don't take his words to heart." He told as he guided her through a large set of double doors.

She swallowed nervously, her palms now sweating when she was inside.

The hall was all golden and she saw a large throne towards the end, with guards stationed in uniform detail.

"Son, who have you brought with you?" Desi nearly jumped, but Thor squeezed her arm in assurance as they stopped at the end of the steps.

"I told you…I am not to be disturbed when I am most vulnerable." Odin said, his breathing heavy but he refused to show his pain.

"I brought you Lady Destiny; the Midgardian I spoke of." Thor told him.

"The woman who can heal with a touch, no Midgardian can do this, I've told you." Odin spat.

Desi looked over to Thor hesitantly as he slowly walked them up the stairs, and she could see Odin narrowing his eye at them.

"Do…you still refuse…to reason?" Odin spat.

"All-Father?"

Odin looked over to Desi.

"You dare speak to me?" Odin said, noticing his son reaching for her arm.

She snapped her arm away from him; she'd try to settle this herself.

"I only need but a few seconds, All-Father."

"Who do you think you are to approach me like this?"

"I am a friend of Thor. He saved me once, and I am here to return the favor."

"How noble, if you could do it."

"I only need a moment, All-Father. If not, I'll leave here if no struggle."

Thor looked over to his father and saw him smile.

"Firm but respectful, how rare these days from a Midgardian." Odin spoke.

"Thank you…may I approach, All-Father?" she asked. He looked to Thor but nodded, nonetheless.

Desi picked up her dress and approached him slowly, taking off her gloves as she bowed before him. She raised herself before she held both of her hands to him, standing close to his left hand. She noticed him looking her in the eye for a second time before he placed his hand in hers. She took a deep breath and pushed away his memories as she worked her magic, and her hand began to glow a yellow and silver color.

Odin felt his pains, injuries, and aches disappear, as she said he would, and looked over to Thor in amazement.

She gently put his hand down on the throne armrest and moved back, putting her gloves back on as she walked back towards Thor.

"A magnificent gift, I can see why my sons have spoken highly of you." Odin said, smiling in satisfaction.

"Thank you, father." Thor said, elated that his father approved of her.

"Your magic…it's familiar to me." Odin said, contemplating something.

Desi looked at him in confusion; what did he mean?

"Perhaps, Frigga may know more about this…" he said.

"You were seeking me out, my love?"

Thor and Desi spun around to see a beautiful woman approaching them. She wore a beautiful golden dress with embroidery over her chest, and hair in an updo with curls curtained behind her.

Thor walked down the stairs and hugged his mother, and Desi smiled as she made her way down the stairs.

"Mother, I apologize for leaving so soon." Thor tried to explain, but Frigga smiled.

"You were never one to stay still, and I can see why." She said as she turned to look at Desi. Desi smiled and bowed, unsure what the pleasantries were here, but Frigga embraced her.

Desi hesitated before hugging her back.

"Your soul is warm…so familiar…" Frigga said as she looked over to Odin.

Desi tensed, she felt that they were testing her, Frigga looking deeply into her eyes. Frigga's eyes widened; her face elated.

"Valhalla…it's…" Frigga brought her hands to her mouth, tears coming to her eyes.

"Beloved." Odin came down the steps, taking his wife into his arms.

She smiled happily, he realized she was overjoyed.

"Dear…she has a soul of…" She sobbed.

Odin looked at Desi in surprise, but she expected this.

"Take my hand, darling." Frigga said, offering her hand to Desi.

Desi panicked; she didn't want to relive that memory, but she knew Frigga wanted to see for herself. She took a deep breath and carefully placed her hand over hers. Desi gasped; Thor quickly cradled her against his chest as she fell back, her head thrown back.

"Mother!" he yelled, looking over at his mother with an alarmed look on his face.

Frigga closed her eyes, Odin cradling his wife as well as she began to sway.

Desi saw a platinum blond woman on a white horse, her armor designed with a star in the middle of her chest, her headpiece with Pegasus wings that glowed angelically as if she was an angel, with a long flowing gold cape. She charged through a battle with a sun-designed shield and a gold sword. She fought vast enemies, slaying them in her path as she fought her way through. Without a touch, she waved her hands and healed, even resurrected people from the dead. She helped people crossover, guiding them to the gates of Valhalla. She saw her hugging a younger Frigga, but her heart dropped when she fought against A woman, hearing her shout that she was Ker. She gasped when she saw them slay one another, and her heart dropped. On her final breaths, she saw a baby abandoned in front of a nearby altar and pressed her hand against the baby. The baby glowed a golden silver color before crying out once more.

"I love you, my daughter."
