Chapter 2 - Captain Kim

~ at the hospital ~

You woke up to a little beeping sound of a machine that was beside your bed. Your eyes followed the little tube as it made its way to your arm administering medicine to your body. The smell of alcohol and disinfectants filled the air. The room was dimly lit as it was now around 9 in the evening. When you tried to get up you felt a wave of dizziness come over you again causing a groan to escape your lips. You wanted to rub your temples when you noticed a large hand that held and protected yours in its warmth.

"No…it can't be" you mumbled softly. It was him. The last guy you saw before it all went black and you fainted. You felt a slight awkwardness because you've never met him before and he was holding your hand but for whatever reason you did not want to take your hand away from his. You felt safe, loved and like you belonged. You looked at your little hand that perfectly fit in his and then looked at him. He was slouched on the side of your bed, his head was near your waist, with his and your hand placed so close to his face. He was asleep. He had the most innocent and gentle look on his face, you couldn't help but just stare at him. Your little bubble of love was popped when you saw him slowly move and then reveal his beautiful brown eyes that you already seemed to miss.

"oh hey…how are you feeling?" he said when he noticed you had woken up. His voice was a little deep and sent you to heaven hearing it for the first time. You felt your stomach turn and the hair on your head stand up.

You quickly shut down your feelings and spoke calmly. "I'm alright, still a little dizzy, but I am better." You paused for a second noticing that he still held your hand. You then had a confused look on your face as you slowly asked him "I'm sorry, but umm, I don't think we've introduced ourselves. May I know your name?"

He chuckled ever so slowly as he looked down in embarrassment. He then looked back up at you with a smile you could've sworn resembled a bunny, automatically causing a smile to form on your own face as he said

"My name is Jungkook."

"Hi Jungkook, my name is Y/n" you replied back

"Do you mind telling me what happened? Did you need to meet me at my office for something?" you asked curiously

"Uh yes I did want to meet you….it's a long story actually." He said nervously as he cleared his throat and started to tell you everything from the beginning.

~HOURS EARLIER~

"I'll have 2 slices of the pepperoni pizza please." Jungkook said as his hand reached for his wallet in his back pocket. He was stood in front of the pizza vendor waiting for his food when all of a sudden a weird feeling came over him. It was something new. A feeling he never experienced before but he knew all too well. Finally realizing what was going on his eyes flashed amber for a second as he frantically searched the view in front of him until he saw what caused him to feel this way on the far opposite side of the street.

It was a woman. She was standing alone on the sidewalk. She had a nervous and frightened look on her face. He wondered what was going on and almost felt the need to go help the damsel in distress when all of a sudden a man came out of nowhere and stood behind her. It took a few seconds for Jungkook to realize that the tip of a gun's barrel was being pressed against her back as the man led her into an alleyway away from the view of the street.

Jungkook didn't notice his feet had already started running across the street to get him to the other side. His pace got quicker as the adrenaline kicked in until he finally reached the little alleyway where the woman was taken. Anger and frustration started to course through his veins as he kicked the little puddle of water and ran his fingers through his hair. He was too late. He let out a deep sigh as a low deep growl resonated from his chest.

~ time skip ~

Jungkook was now stood outside the glass doors to the 19th Precinct. He seemed conflicted, confused and out of his mind. "It's a good thing you're here with me." he said as he finally moved forward, causing the automatic doors to slide open. Half an hour later he was finally called in to be interviewed by one of the police detectives.

He walked over to the desk where the officer was sitting. After talking a seat, the officer turned his gaze from the computer screen and looked at Jungkook.

Officer: "Okay sir so it says here in the system that you have witnessed an abduction. Nobody has filed a missing person's report recently so I will need a few details from you to file the case.

Jungkook: "Sure, anything officer."

Officer: "Okay so first thing, may I know the address of where the abduction took place?"

JK: "Ah yes, the address is 96-6, Gacheon-dong street."

Officer: "96-6, Gacheon-dong street? Wait what time did you witness this?"

JK: "An hour and a half ago, is something wrong officer?"

Officer: "Oh no sir, we are sorry to have concerned you with the situation but what you witnessed was not an abduction. It was a undercover operation. The woman you saw getting abducted was . She's the captain of this precinct"

?: "Are you talking about Captain Kim? I-Isn't she not here anymore"

The officer turned towards the person who was with Jungkook and smiled softly.

Officer: "Ah yes Captain Kim Senior is no longer with us. This is her daughter. She is one of the youngest and highest ranking officers to become a captain of a precinct. She is an excellent officer and more so a Captain."

Jungkook: "So are you telling me all that I witnessed was just an act.?"

Officer: "Yes sir, I'm sorry that we caused you to worry but she had to maintain that character so she could catch the culprit. After she was taken into the alleyway, it only took a few minutes for the guy to say enough information to incriminate himself before she turned the tables and disarmed him before making her arrest. We then had a few officers take him from the other side of the alley. She's been working on this operation for almost a week to lure him out. Today it finally payed off."

Jungkook: "Is it ok if I could meet her?"

Officer: "Uhh yeah sure. She's probably getting off duty anyway. She had to fill the prison papers for the guy so she was a bit busy. That's her office" he said as he pointed towards a fancy looking door.

It didn't take long for Jungkook to notice that the knob on the door was turning. He walked over and pretty soon he was met face to face with the same woman he saw except instead of the nervous or anxious look, she had a whole other aura. She stood tall, and she was looking straight at him with big beautiful eyes. There was something about her that exuded confidence and independence and he was all for it. He noticed her stand still for a few seconds before she put out her hand to shake his but as he put his hand out she started to fall. He quickly caught her body before it crashed to the ground and held her tightly. There it was again. The same feeling earlier when he saw her on the street. It was at this moment he knew. He had finally found his 'mate'

He was overwhelmed with happiness which was short-lived till he noticed something strange happen to her causing her to faint just a few seconds later. He looked at her concerned not understanding exactly what was going on.

?: "Jungkook-ah, did her eyes just flash red right now?" asked the man who stood behind Jungkook

Jungkook couldn't believe what just happened as he answered back and said "Yes they did. She's an Alpha."
