Chapter 6

Johnny Lightfoot was one of the first ones to arrive at the scene, after the call for assistance. As he approached the crashed car, the green paint was scattered all over the road, along with the metal parts of the vehicle. It was clearly a write off as they waited for it to be removed from the road. So, what caused it to stop so suddenly? Listening to the witnesses, the story didn't make sense. And most importantly, a young woman was involved; a Bear some of them said.

The main priority was to gain chase of the robbers, before they lost their track. But what of the Bear? Johnny volunteered to look for her, along with the other police officers. But as he made his way with them, his phone in his pocket was going nuts. As he answered it, there were shouting and words so fast, that the rabbit's long ears couldn't hear a word the voice was trying to say.

"Pyjamas slow down, what's happened?"

Johnny looked up and waved to the police, that he won't be a moment. Moving away to not let anyone hear their conversation, Johnny asked her to proceed. At first, he was worried about Super Sonic. But as he listened more, now, he was worried FOR Super Sonic.

"So where is Ebony now?" Johnny whispered.

"She's gone to look for him. He was heading to the neighbourhood markets with the fake Ebony to do some shopping."

"You got to be kidding me." Johnny spoke in denial.

"Why you say that?" Pyjamas asked with worry in her voice.

"Because that's where they are looking for more witnesses of the incident. That place will be swarming with police!"

And if they were looking for someone suspicious and out of the ordinary, there was only one he could think of, that matches that description…

Something didn't feel right, as Super Sonic and the pretender, continued strolling down the street. Police officers were gathering around the shops, showing a photo to the citizens. Most of them shook their heads or having a long conversation with them. The disguised Metamorphia was terrified; were they looking for her? But lucky for her, neither of them was close enough to see the image.

At first, she wanted more than anything to revert back to her original state, now that might not be a good idea. But as she turned to Super, he tucked the little chao more inside as he pulled down his hood over his face. Why was he doing that? She wondered. Then as they moved away from the main area, they were left confused as they saw more police vehicles parking up.

"Blast, this would have been easier if I had my disguise on." The hedgehog muttered.

What did he mean by that? Not taking any chances, they walked towards the edge of the neighbourhood and into the busier streets of Metropolis. But what made it more uncomfortable for Metamorphia, was that it was too close to other Mobians; one false move and she could bump into someone and change into their appearance. That would be game over for sure. Keeping her body narrow, she pressed her arms as tight as she could against her body. Her hands were sweaty as she clutched onto the shopping bags. She was starting to panic; feeling her heart thud against her new body.

Suddenly, she felt something brush behind her tail. Shrieking, she cried out and looked backwards. Panicking, she looked all around and saw that she was still the feline. Other Mobians turned to see her, more curious to see why she shrieked. The hedgehog asked if she was alright, but her thoughts were distracted by anyone who passed her. Super noticed they were gathering too much attention.

"Maybe we should go somewhere quieter; there's way too many folk around here." He suggested.

Lucky for her, her new friend was solving the problem. Following him quietly, they passed through the small streets and passed through the main buildings. Minutes that felt like hours to her, they finally took a break; away from the commotion. Metamorphia took deep breaths to calm her down as she dropped their stuff onto the floor. Being in his presence however, made her feel safe; no matter how many death stares the tiny creature was giving to her. She felt comfortable as he continued to watch out for the both of them. But why didn't he get along with the police?

Suddenly, Super removed his hood, Cheese flew out and hovered around the hedgehog; clearly not wanting to go near the unknown feline.

"Right, I don't know what's got into you Cheese, but that's enough." He protested as the chao continued to hiss towards his friend. Then he took a deep sigh and turned around to face her. Those eyes looked onto hers, and she felt right then, her heart would explode.

"Ok, let's see if we can head back to the café from here. How far out are we?"

The fake feline stood frozen, clueless to what he requested. The hedgehog looked at her to see his friend with a very puzzled look.

"I've no idea." She replied, slightly embarrassed.

"Ok then, a location spell will do the job then." He explained with a smile.

Wait…this cat can do MAGIC? Oh crumbs, she panicked. What the heck was she going to do? She didn't know any spells or anything to do with lotions and potions. Thinking on the spot, she tried her best to not show her fretting. What was she do?

"I guess… I'm just too tired to do it?" Which technically, she was tired; even if in another lifetime she could ever conjure a spell.

Daft answer; she hated herself for thinking of such a stupid response. But the hedgehog nodded and agreed.

"Ok, that's alright. We'll just head back the old fashion way. Let's hope we don't run into trouble." He stated calmy.

Metamorphia gave back a sheepish laugh as she followed him quickly. But as time pressed on, the uneasiness followed; the only sound coming from the ruffling of the paper bags. All today was nothing but trouble, as she wrapped her arms around the shopping bags tightly. Cheese continued to float by the hedgehog's side; making Metamorphia more jealous.

She wondered if she could just use her powers, overgrown her hand to form a massive bat, and swing the blasted creature miles away, so she could walk beside him. The thought occurred from time to time. Within her own mind, she almost didn't hear what Super was saying.

"While we're heading back, want to hear some more jokes?"

Honestly, she didn't feel laughing at all. But as she looked at it at another perspective, he was properly trying his best to cheer her up. Also; "more jokes?" Maybe that's what both him and the cat were laughing about, back at the café. Faking a smile, she politely replied.

"Sure, I don't mind."

"Good, well; how about this one? Now, how did it go? Ummm…. What did one toilet say to the other? You look a bit flushed." Turning to see her reaction.

Shaking her head, even Metamorphia knew that was a terrible one. Snickering, the hedgehog continued walking.

"Ok then, how about this one? This one I got from Pyjamas. What's a witch's favourite subject in school? Spelling."

"That's even worse!" Metamorphia giggled.

"Ah, but it has made you laugh."

"Why On Mobius, would you say them out loud? They're just terrible." She laughed.

"Hmm? Don't you remember?" The hedgehog spoke up.

Suddenly she stopped. Super looked at her puzzled.

"It was Christmas. The crackers we got? The bad jokes? The new year's resolution?" Super asked as she still looked confused.

"Oh…THAT! Oh right! Sorry, my brain is all over the place. Look we better keep moving or those police would show up again and slow us down. Don't want our customers to be waiting." She smiled as she hurried forwards and passed both hedgehog and chao down the street.

It was now or never Metamorphia, she needed to get out of this scene; pronto.

Super Sonic watched as Ebony walked down the streets in a jiffy. Looking at Cheese, both of them knew something was up. How could she not remember Christmas? It was her idea to get him to tell the jokes in the first place; how could she forget?

"Think I'm starting to get your vibes Cheese." Super whispered to the chao.

Being slightly cautious, he followed her as of course, she had no clue where she was going…

Ignoring the cries of her customers, the real Ebony stormed out of the café and concentrated on her magic. Everyone stepped back as they witness her spell conjuring right in front of her eyes. However, her magic was off. The massive swelling on the back of her head, was aching, causing the magic to spazz out. Ebony looked at the concern customers and so, decided to move further away as she tried again. Blast she thought; her magic was all over the place. She would instead have to find him the old fashion way.

But where to look for him? Well, if he had no clue that he was with an imposter, they would have taken the route towards the neighbourhood area, where the local markets were being held. She just hoped that creep didn't hurt him. Using her magic steadily, she flew herself up above the buildings to get her a birds eye view of the city.

She was a little wobbly at first, as her flight went a little unbalanced. But as she flew higher, she started to gain composure; however not enough time to fully rest up.

She just hoped she wasn't too late…

But little did Ebony know, that she was being followed.

One of the mysterious flying robots had been patiently wating, a crook away from the cafe. As they witnessed from a distance, it saw each animal going inside and out. But after sometime, Metamorphia hadn't come out.

Back inside their HQ, the boss was pressing the location of Metamorphia, to their "recruits". But time was at stake here; as the other robots detected police movement all across the neighbourhood area. But then, the cameras spotted a feline, once again leaving the café in a hurry. Wait. Rewinding the footage of the café's entrance, the same looking cat, only just left the café with someone else. Twins Or maybe? But as it witnessed the feline's desperate flee towards the streets, all became clear.

Metamorphia was almost famous in the underworld for her disguises; camouflaging herself to trick her enemies. What a cleaver move they thought. Commanding the robots to follow in secret, they instructed the other robots to find and track an exact copy of the feline in the area. It won't be long; as they knew that Metamorphia would be keeping a low profile. Updating the new data to their associates, the robbers had their job to do. All they had to do in their lonely abode, was to wait…

Watching from afar, Rouge spotted the robbers and robots departing way. But why were they going back toward the city? What had changed? Hearing the conversation through small wires connected to a satellite, she pinpoints the soundwaves and connected to their signal. Only to curse and disconnect; for her plans had to change suddenly. Just as she feared, the boss was after Metamorphia.

And unfortunately; even though it was more than a pain, she knew someone who could help her. Flying away from the scene, she kept herself undetected as she made her quick exit.

Later on, as she made her way towards the Groovy train, she flew down and hid herself as she looked down. The police force was high up on numbers.

"This doesn't make things easier." She muttered.

But then she spotted something fly up; was it someone flying? Then she witnessed the green ray of light flicker behind them. She nodded her head as all too familiar.

"Not a lot of folk I know who can do that. Why she in a hurry?"

But then she spotted something smaller on her trail. Grabbing her binoculars from her bag pack, she spotted one of the robots following her in pursuit.

"This doesn't look good. Well, just hope the misses is in a good mood to see an old face." She joked.

Taking flight once again, she followed track of the both of them in secret. Just like before she thought; this is gonna be another long an enduring mission…

The robbers had got their coordinates of Metamorphia. The message was clear; she was in disguise and one of the bosses' trackers was locating her. Unfortunately, none of them had a clue what she would look like. When trying to get a source image, the connection was terrible and the droid they had as their navigator, only provided a heat signature.

Making sure the coast was clear, they broke into a large van and snuck themselves in. High jacking the wires, they got the vehicle moving and set the motor in motion. This time however, they kept to the speed on the roads; as not to blow their cover. They only sound emitting, was the small voice of the radio speaking and the rattling of their weapons on the floor.

Grabbing hold of the large fabric bag, the team were ready for the quick ambush. All they had to do was wait for their cue…

Minutes felt like hours as Metamorphia had no idea which way to go. But she tried to keep her confidence in front of the hedgehog, as he walked behind her. Him and the little creature kept their distance away from her, were they getting to realise that she wasn't their feline friend? Clutching onto her bags, she needed to think what to do of her predicament.

But then they abruptly stopped as they left the barren street; accidently landing straight back into a public road, where a large bear in a police uniform, greeted them.

"Good morning! Opps my apologies, good afternoon; wow time does fly, doesn't it? Hope to not disturb you, but we were wondering if you have seen this young lady by any chance?" The bear politely spoke.

Both of them stood still, glancing at each other awkwardly. Super didn't have time to place back the hood, with Cheese hovering behind them. But the bear was being polite and thus, ignoring him was simply a bad decision. Metamorphia tired her best to keep her fake smile on her face as she was given the picture.

But when she saw it, they were as herself; Phia the bear. The pictures showed her using her powers, just moments after she stopped the car. Guilt started to overcloud her thoughts; her heart skipping a beat. Super looked over and took a glance of the photo.

"Sorry, not seen her." He stated, hoping to move onwards.

But then he was stopped by the officer, looking at him oddly.

"Hmm, you look familiar. Have I've seen you before?" He asked, with a deep low voice.

"Nah, sorry pal." The hedgehog replied quickly, trying to keep polite.

But the Bear was determined to recognise him, as he blocked their path.

"Nah hold on a second, I'm sure I know that face. But damn it, I can't remember." He muttered.

"He works at a nearby café; sure, you've seen him there?" Metamorphia stepped forward, trying to block his gaze with the hedgehog.

But the Bear suddenly stopped and pointed his finger right towards him in complete shock and horror.

"It can't be! It's Super Sonic!"

The officer had shouted, causing other animals to stop and stare. Both of them were confused at first, but as Metamorphia turned around, Super was the one that looked panicked.

She then turned to see that the officer was raising his hand, about to call back up for reinforcements. With a second to spare, the disguised feline, stretched out her hand towards the hedgehog, grabbing hold of his sweater. The police officer cried out as the both of them fled the scene; dropping their food bags and shopping at the scene.

Ignoring the citizens, it a took a moment for Super to realise that they were in big trouble as he joined in the running. She let him go, with Cheese behind their tail; making sure she only touched the clothing instead of fur. Both of them had no idea where they were going, but only stopped till they were far away enough to not be spotted.

Metamorphia was trying to catch her breath, but when she turned towards the hedgehog, she felt her whole body froze. He was pacing up and down, furious.

"No…it couldn't be. It couldn't be him. How this nice guy, be that monster?"

"Blast! They'll bring reinforcements for sure. And Sonic will be on us soon after. We got to keep moving!" The hedgehog replied, reaching out his hand to her.

But panic overrode everything, as Metamorphia smacked his hand in a hurry. Only then, did she realised what she had done.

"Ebony? What's wrong?" He looked at her worried.

Her little crush, suddenly had been smashed to a thousand pieces. This hedgehog in front of her, was Super Sonic. The destructive creature that wreaked havoc and chaos to all of Mobius. She never met the monster face to face, but knew for sure of his terrifying power. And he was literally inches away from her, looking puzzled and worried for her.

She moved back, feeling terrified. Even the tiny winged creature looked confused. And then another thought; Sonic! The one who caused all this pain and misery to her from the very beginning.

She knew she wanted to keep to the good and narrow, but what was she to do? Did Tails tell Sonic and the freedom fighters about her new life? Or was this all for nothing? Her mouth twisted, biting her lips from her frustration.

It was just simply best to come forward and tell him the truth; whom she really was. But how? She couldn't change back; she didn't know how. But as she finally gained composure to speak up, something buzzing suddenly caught their attention. Cheese cried out in disarray.

The hedgehog turned around to see a small robot hovering above them. He looked at it bewildered for a moment. But just like the police officer, his eyes looked shocked and suddenly alerted. He turned around quickly, shoved Cheese into his hood, lifted Metamorphia up with his arms and dashed down the streets.

Screaming, she kept her head down to make sure the wind passing by them didn't whoosh her away. They speeded down, taking corner turns in seconds. However, as she glanced quickly back, the robot was still on the trail.

"What is that?" She shouted.

"Don't you remember? It's those robots from before."

"What robot?"

"Rouge's old boss! Hang on! I'll try and loose them." Super shouted back.

Metamorphia hadn't the foggiest as the hedgehog continued to run. She had never seen that robot before, was it from the police force? And who Boss was he talking about? She closed her eyes as he darted past more corners and just in a second, he grabbed her tightly as he made a full U-turn. In that moment, she was holding onto dear life as the hedgehog twisted and turned, using the walls beside them to jump up and fall back to the ground; just above where the robot had been flying.

Smacking his foot down on the mechanical machine, it exploded in impact. As they both fell back to the ground, the robot followed down and smashed into tiny pieces. Adrenaline had kicked in and Metamorphia was desperately kicking and screaming for the hedgehog to drop her.

Confused, Super watched as his friend backed away from him, staggering herself towards the wall and slamming back against it, dropping to the ground. She was resting her head between her legs, her tail swished around herself. Taking short breaths, she had gone to a full panic attack. Muttering under her breath, the hedgehog looked distressed. Cheese was released as it hovered above them both.

"Ebony! Are you hurt?" He asked, as he reached his hand to touch, her shoulder.

In horror, she looked up and raised her hand towards his.

"No! Stop!" she screamed.

But it was too late. She accidently went to grab hold of his arm to stop; and only then realised her mistake. The change was sudden and fast as Super stepped back; Cheese alerted and screamed with a high pitch sound. Metamorphia stood up and watched her hands changed. It didn't cause her pain, however seeing her black fur change to yellow, her tiny claws change to full outstretched gloves, she couldn't find the strength to see it and landed her face in her hands.

"What the heck?!"

As soon as she heard his voice, she opened her eyes. The transformation was completed. She turned towards Super Sonic, as he was ready for a fight; his face filled with fury. Her legs couldn't stop shaking, for she knew whom she had changed into. What was she to do? Fight? Or flee?

Her body made the decision, as she turned around and ran down the empty path. Hearing his shout, she knew from his blue counterpart, that he could easily capture her in seconds. Even Cheese gave chase after her; most likely gloating that it was right all along, not to trust the faker.

In desperation to separate her gap from him, she stretched out her arms to grab hold of some empty cardboard boxes; which she was astonished they did so by her command. Or it could be the fact her body was reacting to the danger she had placed herself in. Without looking behind her, she yelled as she swung her extended limps behind her, hearing them smash towards the ground. Then soon afterwards, she tried to grab anything she could collect; from glass bottles, to metal pipes.

The hedgehog didn't have a clue of her powers as he ducked and covered Cheese as they ran. This of course slowed him down. As Metamorphia continued running, she took a sharp turn left and almost reached for the exit. But as she looked forward, it was back onto the open road. Then she spotted a small alleyway to her left; just enough gap for her to hide in. Not taking any chances, she ducked through and hid behind a collection of rubbish. Keeping quiet, she ducked her head down and hoped that Super Sonic would run past her….

Suddenly, the radio inside the police car, was buzzling with announcements. The police officer turned it up, so his comrades and Johnny could listen to. His whole stomach turned as they were reporting sightings of Super Sonic, as he fled the scene. He couldn't get in contact with Ebony and Pyjamas couldn't do anything being in the café alone.

And as part of the freedom fighters rules; anything of Super Sonic, was to be reported directly to Sonic.

"Sorry kid, you're on your own here." Johnny muttered to himself, as he forced himself to make the call…

Finally, after nervous anticipation, the robbers finally received an update on the location of Metamorphia. But the image they collected, was blurred and not clear. But all they could see was a blur of yellow, mixed with someone else. It was difficult to picture it, but the destination was crystal clear.

"Can you tell what that is?" The ferret asked, moving his head closer to the picture.

"Who cares? We're taking a U-turn; hold onto the goodies lads!" The Pitbull commanded.

The group took hold of their weapons and firearms, as the van halted in the middle of the road, ignoring the beeps from other cars. Turning around, with the ignition on full, the vehicle screamed as it raced down the other side of the road. They were getting close. And then finally, they noticed they were heading further away from the neighbourhood, which was a huge advantage for them.

They pulled up where the target was, one of them ready with the large fabric bag. As they opened up the side panel door, they took the element of surprise as they saw the figure stop suddenly.

Without a pause, they robbers pounced on their next loot…

Making sure Cheese was alright, Super Sonic chucked the chao back inside his hood. The debris didn't matter to him, but he wouldn't want the critter to get hurt. However, this did cause for the faker to run off with an extra spare second. Who the heck was that? And why change into him?

The hedgehog was confused and worried. If that wasn't Ebony, then where was she? He needed answers. He speeded through and took the quick turn left. With his speed, the search would be faster. But as he started to give himself a boost to the end of the path, there were lots of debris and rubbish littered around. Jumping over them was an annoyance.

But then he suddenly spotted something from behind him. Did he just spot a hidden alleyway? But before he could turn around to investigate, something made a high pitch screech as it halted right in front of him. Turning back around, he gasped as he put on the brakes. But he was going too fast to slow down, as he watched the white van pull over, side door open, and a large bag overcoming him.

Everything suddenly went into black…

Metamorphia kept her eyes closed, begging for the hedgehog to have missed her. But then something else her ears pitched in. Someone shouting, then a group of animals shouting. Curiosity got to the better of her as she carefully lay low and took a small peep around the corner on the floor. Was it the police?

She almost gasped out loud, when she saw that Super Sonic was being abducted. A group of animals had surrounded the bag, using their full weight to press it down to the floor. The shouting was coming from the kidnappers.

"Stop moving Lass, or I'll blast you!" The parrot squawked.

Lass? Then the realisation hit her like a tonne of bricks. They weren't after Super Sonic; they were after her! Clasping her gloved hands to her mouth, she moved backwards back to her hiding spot. Terrified and frozen on the spot. She wanted to scream, but fear kept her lips shut.

What was she to do? She could save him, use her powers! So why weren't her feet moving? Why wasn't she using her powers? She looked back at her trembling hands, commanding them; begging them, to stretch or bend. Or ANYTHING to help him! But they only continued to shake.

"He showed nothing but kindness to you and this is how you repay him? You left him and lead to the lion's den! How could you hide away and not help him! You disgusting thing; and you call yourself a weapon?"

The thoughts brought tears in her fake eyes as she cradled herself in the her hiding spot, whimpering between her sharp teeth.

What was she do?

Super Sonic was pressed down by a heavy weight. Clearly someone was pinning him down. Their threats meant nothing, but why were they calling him Lass?

As the bag around him was being lifted up, he dragged Cheese out of his hood. The little creature looked horrified by the whole scene. The hedgehog felt that the fabric was quite light, as he coiled his body to spike against the material, making a small hole. It wasn't an enough gap to escape, as the fabric was wrapped around the kidnapers hand. But just enough space for him to squeeze Cheese through.

He could easily get himself out, but at what cost? He felt the bag getting tighter in his kidnappers hand, making it harder to move around. Any source was light, was covered in darkness.

The chao popped out and was then suddenly surrounded by the group of animals. They shouted and yelled, trying to capture the tiny creature. But it's pink wings fluttered in their faces, trying to bump them with their tiny hands. It missed them by their fingertips, till Cheese made a fly out of there.

Cheese looked down and yelled out as it saw the kidnappers give up their chances on it, and returned back to the white van with their prize. Desperate to rescue its friend, it whooshed down to stop them from taking the hedgehog. The large hippo, laughed at the poor creature as it flew down and tried to hit and punch with all its might. But it was nothing but an annoying bother to the robber, as he simply threw his hand toward it.

But then Cheese took the opportunity as it ducked from the hit and went for the hand with its teeth.

"Hey get off!" The hippo shouted, shaking his hand violently.

"What the heck is that thing?" The skunk shouted, trying to aim his weapon at it.

"Little pest! Get off!" The robber shouted, throwing his hand around.

Cheese tried desperately to hold on, but it was just too much. It was sent flying into the air and crashed into a small heap of rubbish nearby. Taking too much time, the robbers decided to move on with the loot.

Cheese shook its tiny head from the dizziness and then looked onwards in desperation. What about the stranger? Could they not help? It could detect the odd aroma from the fake hedgehog as it witnessed him huddled together in a heap, hiding away. The fake hedgehog didn't move, or even look out at the situation. The chao hissed at the stranger, when it suddenly became startled, when it heard the roar of the engine.

Staggering back up, it took back into the sky and gave chase to the van. It could not lose him…

Ebony watched from above to find Super Sonic. Who knew what Metamorphia would do to him. The thought he was walking around with a faker, made her filled of fury. The fact that he was in danger was worrying. The fact that someone was ruining her reputation with her own face; was even worse.

What things would they be talking about? The feline didn't want to go down that path but then, she suddenly spotted something from behind her. She noticed something small was following her. Trying her best to not look back and be obvious, she changed her path and flew down to one of the nearby quiet streets. Taking cover around the corner, she managed to get a better look at what had been following her.

To her astonishment, she recognised the robot instantly. It was from their last visit of the bat thief. Looking down, she saw a small metal pipe. Waiting for the robot to float closer, she lifted the pipe and used her full weight, to swing towards the machine. It had no clue as it was smashed from the front and falling motionless on the floor. The feline kicked it with her foot, just to be on the safe side.

But what did this mean?

Then her ears detected a horrible screeching sound. Running onwards, she spotted a white van rushing. But when she saw Cheese chasing after it, it only meant one thing.

She took back to the skies as she shouted its name. But when she reached enough height, she spotted more robots, suddenly following the van. Worried for Super, she swopped down and chased the vehicle down.

The robots were following in pursuit, thinking the chao was a threat to their mission. Ebony watched in shock, as they tried to shoot the poor creature down. The chao was terrified as it flew in different angles while trying to keep up with the van.

"Hang on Cheese!" Ebony called out.

Bolting down from the sky, Ebony zoomed forwards behind the white van. They passed roads and streets in seconds as the van tried desperately to shake them off their trial. She blasted the robots with her magic, as they had targeted Cheese. But only finding out they were being attacked from behind, they twisted around in mid-flow and attacked her back. Spinning and twisting her body, she dodged their laser attacks.

However how long could she continue with this?

Their chase was making a dangerous scene for the Mobians nearby. Areas were being blasted by the robots, near miss accidents from the reckless driving of the kidnappers, the citizens were in terrible danger.

Then suddenly one of the robots fired at Cheese, hitting the poor creature. It screamed in pain as it fell down towards the ground. Yelling, Ebony swooped in to grab the chao before it reached the road, cradling it in her bosom. She twisted and slowed herself down, away from the fire line. Ducking behind a shop sign, she took cover from the multiple shots. Other animals ran away for cover as well, as the van and robots took their leave.

The sound after that, were the screeching and beeping of other vehicles as it escaped. Ebony and Cheese slowly moved out of their cover, watching the other animals run away in panic.

"Cheese, are you ok?" Ebony looked down worried.

The chao looked sorry for itself and took a quick glance at its wing. Still all intact, but of course the little thing was exhausted. Then suddenly, as if it remembered everything, it clung to the feline's face in sheer delight.

"Cheese! Hey little guy, you almost worried me for a bit. But tell me; was Super Sonic in that van?"

Lucky for them all, the hedgehog made it understand the phase of yes or no. There, Cheese nodded its tiny head. But then it went in a full frenzy, as it chipped tiny shouts and waving its hands around. Then it took up in the sky in a hurry, flying away from the madness.

Ebony hadn't a clue what it spoke off, but knew when she was asked to be followed….

And soon found out, where she was being leaded to. Slowly gliding down to the ground, she spotted Super Sonic huddled together near a pile of rubbish. Her whole body relaxed to see him as she walked towards him.

"Super! Are you alright?"

But what she saw was something different. Her friend was there, but he was sobbing terribly; tears rolling down her eyes. Kept apologising, he waved his hands in front of himself. Anger overfilled her as she dragged him up by his black hoodie, pulling him out of his hiding spot. This was clearly not her Super.

Cheese looked down and hissed down at him; easily not fooled.

"What did you do to him?" Ebony yelled in fury, magic in her hands.

But all she got were small whimpers and apologies from the faker. It spoke in his voice, but know it couldn't be him. She rose her magic higher, until something close, caught her eye. A female bat gracefully landed nearby, folding her arms with a deep smile.

The black feline didn't care as she rose her hands, ready to attack.

"You know how to make a girl welcome don't you?" Rouge the bat appeared, raising her arms in defence.

"Rouge! I should have known you'll be in this mess." Ebony answered back, not too pleased.

"Oh, believe me, all I had to do is follow you two." Rouge joked back.

Metamorphia looked at both of them confused. But realising their attention was on each other, she thought this was her chance to break for it. But the feline darted to her, still clutching onto the black hoodie and gave her the menacing death stare. She had no chance of making any move.

"You want to lose the disguise sweetheart? One yellow hedgehog is enough for me thanks" Rouge asked.

"I would have done it ages ago, if I knew how to!" shouted Metamorphia.

She stood back up, still wearing the hedgehog disguise, brushing down the black hoodie as the feline finally let go.

"Wait, how do you know who I am?" Metamorphia spoke up.

"Oh, I know a lot more than you think love. But we have to think our next plan quickly." The bat concluded.

"What do you mean?" The feline spoke up.

"Because they are gonna have one big surprise, when they open that bag." Rouge coldly stated.

All three of them looked onwards, dreading the next part that would have to follow.

What was the kidnapper's reaction would be, when they realise, that they got the wrong hedgehog?
