I was launched through the air for but a couple seconds before slamming into a pillar, hitting a bridge and falling into what I could safely assume was a ravine, grabbing onto a vine overlooking another bridge below the other bridge. I looked down to see Ame looking up to me before getting back on his feet and the big boi turt landing in front of him, revving up for that sweet Initiation battle. The grimm gave a war cry before they both rushed each other. Ame then did a sort of flipping maneuver as the Grimm swiped with its claws. Landing to the side of it, he delivered a few swift blows into its hard shell barely leaving a dent. I could see his devil may care smile as he weaved around a few more telegraphed attacks before palm striking the Grimm, which I could now recognize as a Gowser. As he ducked, he sprung up into the air landing a particularly devastating uppercut into its jaw with his prosthetic arm, before using its head as a springboard to launch himself a short distance away. It was at this point I decided it was time to drop in. I swung my legs, swaying the vine back and forth, higher and higher before I let go and flung forward, doing a couple flips as I fell and landed behind Gowser. He only had a moment to start turning towards as I spun and gave him a hefty kick to the back, strategically placing my foot between the spicks. It stumbled him into Ame who delivered a rapid chain of haymakers to its face. As his fists flew into the Gowser's face and a few even dented the unspiked under shell, he delivered another quite powerful uppercut launching it into the air towards me. I caught him as he fell and used his momentum and my boots to fly into the air and came back down to suplex him. I flipped to my feet and flew back to Ame's side as the Gowser somewhat stumbled to his feet.
It threw its head back as it let out a roar that shook the ground before breathing in deep and heaving out a big wave of flames toward us. We were forced to retreat further into the bridge, avoiding meeting the same fate as that poor piece of toast. The sleeve covering Ame's prosthetic burned off, as he stepped back. (Due to the aura resistant metal I made the arm out of, he couldn't protect any part of his prosthetic with aura.) As the flames dissipated a wall of smoke came in to replace it, obscuring our view. We looked forward waiting for him to rush us again, but were caught off guard as he came from above. Ame was just barely able to dodge out of the way, though I was not as lucky as I was only able to raise my arms in an attempt to block him as he landed and punched me at full force, launching me into the wall of the ravine, making a small dent in it. My aura flickered as I managed to absorb a hefty amount of energy from the blow. I looked up to see Gowser engage Ame once more, now landing its own blows. Ame was forced to dodge its swipes and even a few tail swipes as his aura was being lowered. Ame ducked under a particularly wide swing, getting ready to counter when the Grimm ducked into its shell and tanked the hit. As Ame attempted to recover, the Gowser used its flames to shoot forward and slam into the wolf faunus. He launched back, hitting the ground a few times before he managed to right himself and slide back a few more feet. I slammed my arms into the wall to dislodge myself before moving to join the fight once more, but stopped short as I heard someone yelling from above.
"Ame! Cool Dude!"
My eyes trailed up as I saw Talon and Melody leaping down near Sebas. Checking my aura, I readied myself to continue, although I was touched a bit by the concern in their voice. "I'm fine! Though I suppose we could do with a bit of help!" A nod of confirmation was what I had received in response. Sebas looked between them a couple times before grabbing both their arms and flying up towards us and then swinging them towards us. As he threw them, Talon pulled out a combat knife and slashed the shell a few times, breaking off a few spikes. Using his momentum, he launched himself up, shifting his Knife into a revolver, firing a few rounds into the face of the Gowser, before landing over by my side. Melody on the other hand, was thrown a bit higher as she whipped out a freaking cannon. As she flew over the Gowser, she fired a few explosive rounds into the Grimm's shell completely obliterating most of the spikes forcing it onto its stomach headfirst. The recoil allowed her to land somewhere behind me. Sebas landed a few feet short of the Gowser before boosting forward and past it, propelling one of his boots to deliver an upward kick while he was passing by which knocked it back on its feet, before quickly boosting back the way he came and quickly delivering a combo of punches to his face and torso and then jumping to deliver a roundhouse kick which sent it stumbling back.
He landed in a kneeling position as I rushed forward, planting my foot on his shoulder and launching forward at an accelerated pace. I delivered a flaming punch to its face, before Talon stabbed its left eye. We ducked back as another explosive round hit the Grimm. I looked at Talon as he grinned back at me and we both nodded. I grabbed his arm, before spinning around and throwing him towards the surprisingly quick turtle Grimm. The Gowser's eyes seemed to flare in defiance as it swung its big meaty claws at Talon forcing him to block and plant himself firmly on the ground. All according to plan as I shot forward, delivering a flurry of strong, swift attacks. As I continued thrashing it, I had to duck down as a couple missiles whizzed over me and exploded in Gowser's torso and face. Melody rushed forward, her cannon shifting into a great sword as she slashed it upwards. Whilst it was in the air she shot the cannon at it once more launching it into the bottom of the bridge above us, before it slammed back down, sliding a bit backwards.
As it stood up I panted, "Holy shit. This guy can take a fucking beating." I surveyed my current team, noticing that whilst Sebas and I were the most winded, Talon was actually quite winded. Melody was relatively fine, if not a little unbalanced. Looking back, I saw it steady itself, before it inhaled and unleashed a torrent of flame into the air. As we readied ourselves, it leaped up and slashed the top bridge. My eyes widened as the bridge started to collapse, "Scatter!" I leaped back as a large piece of stone smashed right where I used to be. Dust kicked up as I blocked my eyes. With my vision obscured, I didn't notice the flame until it was too late. The dust ignited and all I saw was an inferno. The next thing I saw was a black fist headed straight towards my body. As I raised my arms in a cross guard fashion, I was launched back. As I hit the ground, my back scraped along the stone and stopped just short of the edge. I looked up to Sebas to see his aura just getting done flickering. The enemy Gowser landed and then utilized the broken portion of the bridge, throwing big chunks of stone at Sebas. Sebas also threw a few pieces of bridge himself, pieces shattering completely as they hit each other, and punching the last one when there were no more pieces for him to throw. Gowser followed through by shooting towards him and giving a downward punch. Sebas blocked but stumbled. Gowser took the opportunity by grabbing Sebas, slamming him into the ground and throwing him off the bridge. He let himself fall for a second before firing up his repolsorz and boots and going airborne. The dust settled as I caught sight of Talon struggling to his feet, Melody pushing a piece of debris off herself.
Sebas yelled out. "God damn! At this rate we'll be down for the count long before we get this thing to a point where we can kill it, and it seems like it's adapting! We gotta end this, and fast!"
I looked at the cliff, at the Grimm, and at the foggy abyss below. I smirked, "I have a plan!"
Talon and Melody looked before nodding. Sebas grinned maniacally. I turned to the Gowser and raised my fists. Talon rushed forward as Melody shifted back to her Great sword. Stepping aside, I watched as Talon shot between the large stones, before launching into a slash. As he hit the Grimm, it quickly turned towards him as it let out a cry of pain. A sudden force slammed into it from above as Melody used her weapon to perform an overhead slash to not only deal damage, but to boost herself to the cliff. Talon got to the top soon after. I smirked as my aura flared. I shot forward, punching a large stone piece to bits as it obscured the Gowser's vision.
Ame shot forward as the Grimm stumbled. He landed a few jabs into the Gowser as its shell cracked, his aura glowing blue. It swiped as Ame blocked its attack with one arm, before delivering a barrage of punches and kicks onto the poor turtle. The Grimm was forced back, unable to recover from the onslaught and suffered a powerful reverse kick, launching it back. It charged up a flame breath, but Sebas launched a batch of freshly baked brownie blasts dazing it. As it recovered, Ame grabbed it by the arm and threw it towards what remained of the top bridge, causing it to smash through to the top as Sebas ax kicked it back down. Ame readied his prosthetic, electric crackling around it. As the Grimm landed, he slammed his fist into it, launching it back a bit. Sebas flew around to the opposite end of the bridge to Gowser and started corkscrewing around the bridge as he flew towards it, shooting beams at it every time he went over the bridge. He reached Gowser and performed a spinning kick as he flew by. He then flew straight up into the air. Ame rushed forward as he delivered a devastating haymaker, then a left cross, then a one-two combo, then a double palm strike to the cracked undershell, then he unleashed a short burst of hefty kicks, then he delivered a barrage of rapid fire jabs and hooks, headbutting it before finally launching it into the air with a leaping uppercut. It flew through the hole in the top bridge that had just been made and as Sebas descended down upon it at top speeds Gowser seemed to hang in the air for a few seconds. This ended when Sebas stomped down on it hard, both shooting down through the top and bottom bridges, completely demolishing both. Just as they went through the second Sebas shot up, the jet from his boots serving to propel the Gowser that much more. As the Grimm fell, it let out an ear piercing roar that could be heard all throughout Vale. The roar cut off as Ame was now dangling from a vine by the cliff. Sebas did a fly by and grabbed Ame, flying up to the terrain above.
Somewhere in the not so far distance, a certain eight people stared in awe at the fight as the ragtag group of huntsmen (and huntress) in training displayed their absolute badassery.
"Russel Thrush. Cardin Winchester. Dove Bronzewing. Sky Lark. The four of you retrieved the black bishop pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team CRDL, led by... Cardin Winchester!" We all had to clap from there. "Jaune Arc. Lie Ren. Pyrrha Nikos. Nora Valkyrie. The four of you retrieved the white rook pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team JNPR. Led by...Jaune Arc." I stared at the scrawny boy, he didn't seem all that strong. "Blake Belladonna. Ruby Rose. Weiss Schnee. Yang Xiao Long. The four of you retrieved the white knight pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team RWBY. Led by... Ruby Rose!" I didn't know who any of the aforementioned people were. "Ame Sky. Melody Volet. Talon Crimson. Sebastian Amostar. The four of you retrieved the white pawn pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team AMTS (Amethyst). Lead by… Ame Sky!" Sebas patted my back as Talon and Melody cheered a bit subtly. I shrugged and decided to fiddle with my arm as it started to become uncomfortable once more.
