It was a quiet, calm place. Calming music filled every room, and gave a sense of peace to those that came to this place.

But it didn't give any peace to it's newest visitor.

Yang was spat out of the wormhole. It closed after Yang came out of it. She came crashing down into a conveniently placed fountain, face first.

Yang was soaking wet and disoriented from her fall. She looked around, expecting to find her sister.

She was missing.

In fact, everyone was missing. Yang climbed out of the fountain, clothes soaking wet. She desperately searched around, hoping to find someone in this lonely place.

"Ruby! Weiss! Blake!" Yang shouted. She still couldn't believe that she was alone. They had to be here. They had to be somewhere.

"Anyone?" No one responded to her call. She was truly alone.

'Maybe they're in another room', she thought to herself. A large set of wooden double doors stood in front of her. As she approached, the doors swung open by themselves, revealing a small room behind them.

In the middle of this room was a red pedestal. Nearby, another door stood. Yang approached it, expecting it to open as the last one did, but it didn't

'Do I need a key for this?' Yang thought to herself.

Then again, why find a key when she can just punch a hole through the door.

She began to punch the door with all her might. It didn't work.

She gave up and backtracked towards the last room, opting to go through the other door that she saw. She immediately entered what appeared to be a hallway, and walked through it.

She found herself in a much larger room than before. A massive stone structure stood in front of her.

At it's base lay another red pedestal, with what appeared to be a red skull on top.

'So this is what I need!' Yang thought to herself again. She was glad to make at least a little progress. She grabbed the red skull and backtracked towards the room with the red pedestal.

She placed the skull on top and the door to her right opened up. After a few well placed jumps she climbed up the steep ledge that the hallway had. She entered a room with a large waterfall to her right and collapsed pillars to her left.

"Anyone here?" Yang shouted. If they weren't here, she'd just keep looking. She walked further along the stone path towards a set of double doors at the end.

Before she could reach it, the door locked itself.

"What the he-" Yang said. Suddenly, two strange flying objects appeared in front of her. They were purple, and each one had a single glowing eye in front. The two drones turned to face Yang.

Both of them began charging something up. Yang looked at the drones in confusion, before finally realising what they were doing. She ducked down as the drones fired their weapons, sending a volley of glowing projectiles towards her.

She ran behind the pillars as the drones charged up their shots. They fired again, keeping their sights on Yang as she ran between the pillars.

She had to find a way to get rid of these drones, and fast.

The drones charged up their weapons and fired again. Yang saw her opportunity and ran towards the first drone. She jumped and readied her gauntlets. She punched forwards, making contact with the drone. It was sent flying back as the force of the gauntlets overpowered it. It crashed into a wall and exploded. Knocking back both the second drone and Yang.

The second drone charged up its main weapon. It fired, sending another volley of shots towards Yang. Instead of ducking, Yang prepared her weapon once more. As the projectile got closer, she readied herself to duck if her crazy plan didn't work.

Yang punched forward as the projectile got near to her. Instead of hitting her, the projectile flew back in the direction of the drone. The drone exploded and blood filled the arena.

Yang took a deep breath. It was over.

Suddenly, four more drones appeared. They completely surrounded her and charged up their weapons.

"You've got to be shitting me!" Yang shouted out. She readied herself for battle once more.

It was a wet night. A wormhole appeared above a field of grass and spat out a young girl. She fell to the floor and landed with a thud.

Ruby awoke in a puddle. Her clothes were soaking wet and she was stuck in the middle of a thunderstorm. She had no idea where she was.

Looking around her, she realised she was surrounded by a large forest. She was lying atop a large patch of grass that had no trees growing on it.

Ruby got up onto her feet and looked around, hoping to find one of her friends.

"Is anyone out there?" Ruby shouted into the forest, hoping for a response.

None came.

Ruby grabbed her weapon, Crescent Rose, and walked into the forest. As she walked, she felt as though the forest was familiar. It almost looked like the one she came from.

When she came upon a familiar village, all doubt was removed from her mind.

The village was a mess. Many of the buildings that once stood tall were now in ruin. A place once filled with life was now left without it.

Ruby could swear she saw corpses within the ruins. She looked at the sight in horror. 'What could of done this?' She thought to herself. She remembered the creature she had fought before being taken away, and wondered if more of its kind existed.

She walked through the ruins and looked around. There was no sign of any survivors. She found a small, untouched slab within the town and sat on it, bearing no mind to the fact that it was wet.

As she inspected the corpses, she noticed something… odd. Some of the corpses had what appeared to be military uniforms on them.

They didn't wear anything even remotely similar to what soldiers from Remnant usually wore. It was gray and dull. Some of the soldiers had what appeared to be camouflage on their uniforms as well. Some of the soldiers wore gray helmets, and some had strange masks over their faces.

Ruby got up and walked towards one of the corpses. This one had a slightly more pristine uniform. It was slightly torn, but by how it looked she could safely say it belonged to an officer. Despite the fact that every part of her thought that rummaging through a person's corpse was downright disrespectful, she figured it was the only way to find out what happened.

Ruby rummaged around the officer's uniform. She checked every pocket she could. In one of the pockets she found a small, crumbled up note. It was damp, and no doubt the ink had washed off by now. She threw it to the side and rummaged around a little more.

Suddenly, she heard voices coming from nearby. She looked around, desperate to find a place to hide. She stumbled around, trying to find anything that she could hide under. In the ruins of one of the buildings, she found a good spot. She ran over and hid under it as the voices got louder.

A group of soldiers approached the corpse of the officer. They were wearing the same uniform that the other soldiers adorned. They were chatting amongst themselves in a language Ruby couldn't understand.

One of the soldiers went over to the corpse and knelt down. He picked up the crumpled piece of paper that Ruby had thrown to the side. He looked at it and scoffed before chucking it away. As the soldier walked back to his group, Ruby heard what sounded like an aircraft approaching.

The men appeared to be fixated on it, still chatting amongst themselves. As they spoke, they kept mentioning a name that Ruby swore was familiar.

Jacques.

She couldn't quite remember why she thought the name sounded familiar. But before she could dwell on it any more the aircraft had landed. It was a bullhead transport, and it appeared to be carrying another group of soldiers.

To Ruby's surprise, they were wearing Atlesian uniforms. They all jumped out of the craft and moved towards the other squad.

"Mind explaining what happened here?" A soldier spoke up. He had went ahead of the rest of the Atlesian soldiers.

"We found a group of terrorists here. We were ordered to take them out." The soldier from the previous group responded.

"Terrorists, eh? Last I checked, this was a peaceful farming village."

"They like to hide within villages like this."

"And you like to burn and pillage. Ever heard of minimizing casualties? I know Jacques doesn't pay you fucking cretins to pay much attention to civilian lives, but we are here to defend civilians, not kill them."

"But they weren't civilians. Do you not see all the corpses of our own soldiers? We had to burn down this place to flush out the terrorists that were shooting at us."

"Goddammit you fucking idiot! Even if there was terrorists within this place, burning down every house you see may flush them out, but your only destroying the lives of the very people we're here to protect!"

"I'm starting to realise why the governments of Remnant trust us more! We're willing to do whatever is necessary to flush out these insurgents! Your a bunch of naive idiots who believe everything can be fixed by pure magic!"

"You know what, asshole? If I was in a situation where the lives of thousands depended on me sacrificing the lives of a few dozen, I'd do it. Not out of malice like you do but because It's the right thing to do! You burned down a random village that just so happened to have a couple of terrorists in it and then you call it a fair exchange!"

"We were given explicit permission to do as we please. You know full damn well that we can easily replace you and your men if you step out of line."

"...I know, and I don't care."

As the two soldiers bickered, the rest of the group wandered around in search of survivors. One of the Atlesian soldiers was walking near the rubble where Ruby was hiding when he saw movement within the ruins. Ruby gasped as the soldier spotted her.

They both stared at each other for what felt like a minute. One of the men from the other group came up to him.

"Anything to report?" The other man spoke.

"...Nothing, sir." The soldier responded.

Ruby sighed in relief as both men began to move away from the ruins. She looked around and found a small opening behind her. She took her chance and went through the hole.

As soon as she got out, she ran straight for the forest. No one noticed her as she ran.

This world was a mess, and she had no clue how to get out of it.

"Take that!" Yang punched the monster that stood in front of her. It was a weird mix of cybernetics and flesh, with a large gun that replaced the creature's right arm. "And that!" Yang punched it one final time, and blood came rushing out of the corpse of the creature, covering Yang with blood.

"...Ewwww." Yang still couldn't get over the fact that everything in this world was like a blood filled pinata. She got up and walked towards the door that the monster was guarding. As she approached, it opened up, revealing a small hallway. She walked through and found herself in a much larger room.

At it's centre was a strange object. It looked like a gun of some kind. Yang couldn't help but pick it up.

It was a strange looking weapon. It had two large cylindrical barrels and a screen which had 100 written on it, and a little thingy below that confused Yang. Before she had time to react she was startled as a massive stone face appeared in front of her.

It stared at Yang for a few moments before charging up it's attack. Yang jumped out of the way as the creature fired a volley of projectiles towards her.

"Hey, ugly!" The creature turned to face Yang.

"Say hello to my little friend!" Yang shouted. She aimed the gun at the creature and pulled the trigger.

The gun revved up and spat out nails towards the creatures. Blood came out of it as every nail connected with it's face.

"HAHAHAHAHHA!" Yang cried with joy. This newfound weapon of hers was pretty powerful.

Then it stopped firing. The screen showed the number 0 as the barrels overheated.

"Oh… shit." Yang looked puzzled for a second. The creature took the opportunity to charge up it's main weapon.

Yang jumped out of the way as the creature fired a massive laser beam towards her. She got caught in the blast, and went flying across the room, landing face first into a nearby wall.

As the creature readied itself to fire again, Yang got up and checked her new weapon. It was 25% charged. Well, she thought the number meant how much it had charged up.

She jumped out of the way as more projectiles came rushing towards her. She ran circles around the stone face and checked her weapon again. 50% charged.

The creature charged it's weapon once more. Yang slid underneath the creature as it fired it's laser yet again. Luckily, she wasn't caught in the blast. 75% charged.

Yang prepared her gauntlets and jumped towards the creature. She punched the creature, knocking both her and it back a bit. 100% charged. It was now or never.

She aimed the weapon towards the creature and fired once more. This time, she made sure to fire in bursts. Blood came rushing out of the creature as every shot connected with it.

It charged up it's main weapon one last time. Before it could fire, Yang jumped towards the creature and punched it hard. The explosion caused by the gauntlets knocked her back slightly, but it did the trick.

The creature fell to the floor with a massive thud, sending a shock wave through the room. Yang was knocked down, but quickly got back up on her feet.

She sighed in relief as she walked up the flight of stairs that the creature was guarding. She walked through the doors and found herself in a large hallway.

As she walked down it, more creatures appeared, supported by the drones she fought earlier.

"You have to be fucking with me!" Yang shouted. This world was starting to piss her off.

Ruby ran as fast as she could through the forest. The thunderstorm still raged on, and Ruby was drenched from all the rain.

In the distance, she saw what looked to be a little cave. There could be any number of dangers in there, but she didn't care. It was one of the few places that was sheltered from the rain, and that was good enough.

She walked into the cave slowly to check if anyone, or anything was inside. After making sure that the place was safe, she sat down and sighed in relief.

The world she was in was nothing like her home. It felt like a mirror version of her world. A shattered mirror.

She lay down on the ground, hoping to get even a smidgen of rest.

She had to find her friends, no matter what. But a small part of her had a different goal in mind.

She had to figure out what happened in this world, and if it could happen to hers, as well.

Yang stood at the edge of a large, square hole. She looked down and only saw darkness. She'd fought through hell, and after all of that she found herself in a room filled with nothing except a large, dark pit.

Was this a sick way of telling her to go fuck herself?

She'd seen better ways of doing that.

As she looked down the hole she took a deep breath and readied herself. There was definitely something down there, and she had to explore beyond this place.

Her friends were somewhere, and she was going to fight through hell itself to get to them. She slung the new weapon she had acquired across her back.

Then, she jumped.

As she fell further and further into the dark, she prepared herself for landing. Before she hit the floor at the bottom, she fired off her gauntlets, slowing her down a bit. She hit the floor with a thud, but she didn't break any bones.

As she got up, she looked around the room. It was similar to the one she came from. As she walked through it, only one thought came to mind.

Nothing would stop her from reuniting with her friends, not even hell itself.
