Here it is! Finally!

I am so sorry about the wait for this. Good news is after i post this i am moving right into the next chapter.

In the end i think this chapter was okay... I'm not sure how i feel about it, but i know it's needed going into the next one. It was hard to change up the train scene becuase that was so big in the show and i didn't want to take away from that.

Remember as you read, the only thing i own are my OC's and my errors :)

"Honestly, the hardest part is going to be security all right." JJ said once we were on the Ferry, and all seated around a table trying to come up with a plan. "So, most of the guys are gonna be at the rail yard."

"Right, so we'll need to find some place and guard it." Pope nodded. "Maybe a little further down the line, like at a whistle stop or something?"

"Yeah." Kie agreed.

"I think we're overlooking something." I sighed as both JJ and Pope turned to me, scowls of confusion on their face. I glanced at Cleo who nodded in agreement with me.

"You guys are getting ahead of yourselves per usual," she rolled her eyes. "We don't have a way to transport the cross... what you think, on JJ's motorcycle?"

"That's not my fault." JJ quickly defended, taking off his hat.

"No one is saying it is Jay..." I reached out and wrapped my fingers lightly around his wrist pulling him back, so he was standing next to me. "Just that I'm not sure the cross in all it's glory can be pulled or carried by motorcycle. We need another plan." As I turned back towards the table, I noticed Sarah's gaze focused on something a few feet away.

"Okay other options?" Pope stated.

"Holy shit." I said sitting up right once I realized who she was looking at.

"What?" JJ scowled down at me.

"Oh my God..." Sarah sat up and tried to hide her face, looking in the opposite direction.

"Oh my God what?" Cleo asked and the rest of the table turned towards what had caused the sudden outburst.

"Is that Topper?" Pope questioned in disbelief.

"That is Topper." I confirmed and turned back to Sarah who was actively trying to keep her face hidden.

"Why... is he everywhere?" Kie scowled.

"Perfect." Pope smiled and looked up at JJ. "Hey Jayj."

"What?"

"I bet you Topper has a way to transport the cross." Pope offered and JJ instantly smiled.

"Wait... you aren't actually thinking of asking..." I started but JJ just nodded enthusiastically.

"Pope's right. He does have a rig." JJ stated.

"No." Sarah quickly shook her head.

"Yes." JJ argued.

"Jay, this is Topper..." I tried again and he knelt down between me and Cleo.

"You said it yourself my bike won't hold it, and we needed a something to haul it. This beats stealing one." I stared at him for a few seconds before sighing and looked towards Sarah sympathetically.

"I mean they have a point." I said.

"No, absolutely no." Sarah continued to shake her head.

"Yes, come on." JJ pleaded. "Sarah, you already got him whipped anyway, so why don't you just take one for the team?"

"What would John B say?" Sarah questioned.

"I mean it's about the cross." I shrugged and she glared at me before looking back at Topper.

"I think John B would completely understand," Pope added, "This is about the circumstances, it's about treasure."

"Plus, we have your back." I offered.

"Yeah, we can handle John B." Kie agreed. "Just talk to him." Reluctantly, and with an overdramatic groan she stood and walked towards the bar where Topper was talking with some other people. Slowly our group moved to the lower level of the ferry to give them space, but we couldn't help but watch as Sarah brought Topper to the railing, and they began to talk. Kie, Pope and Cleo all watched the interaction, and I took a step to the side and leaned on the rail looking out at the water.

"You... you, uh, thinking about your mom?" JJ asked, coming to stand beside me.

"Yeah." I breathed out nodding my head. "Trying to figure out how I'm supposed to feel about her being here all of a sudden."

"Worried she's gonna leave again?"

"Skeptical." I sighed. "But..."

"She's also been in Kildare since you went missing." he offered, and I looked over at him and raised an eyebrow curiously at him.

"Yeah," I conceded. "Yeah, which is why I feel, I don't know, obligated to do this brunch thing. I mean she put in all this effort to stay here; she didn't just leave back to the mainland when she had an out."

"You don't owe her anything." he said.

"I owe it to myself though." I said, turning to him with a small smile. "If I don't there will be so many what if's running through my head..."

"Okay." he shrugged. "Then will go."

"Wait, you'd go with me?" I asked surprised.

"She invited me too, remember. Plus... free food." he said, and I laughed.

"I just figured you'd want to be as far from Figure 8 as possible."

"Full Kook remember, that's the goal, no harm in trying it out now." He reached over and pulled me into his arms. "Plus, I'm not throwing you into the lion's den alone."

"Thank you." I said quietly, laying my head on his chest. "I love you."

"I love you too Roe." He said, pulling me back a bit so he could lean in and place his lips to mine gently. "If it gets to be too much we'll bail and hit the beach."

"Deal." I smiled against him. As I opened my eyes, movement from the upper deck caught my eye and I turned just in time to see Sarah wrap her arms around Topper. "Looks like she did it." I lifted my head towards the two of them and JJ looked over before lifting one hand up excited, the others following suit. As unsure as Topper was when we started talking about where we were going, the moment we reached the rail yard he was even more nervous. JJ parked his bike next to Topper's truck and we walked to the closest train car climbing the ladder to look over the yard.

"Well, there's like a thousand trains here." Kie said looking out at all the cars in the yard.

"Well, we know it's car 750x on the track to Raleigh." Pope said.

"Yeah, so now we just gotta find it." JJ breathed out.

"Looking for a needle in a stack of needles." I added. "Also... have we thought of how we are going to get a big ass cross out of here unseen?"

"Yeah there is no way we are getting out unnoticed." Kie agreed.

"We won't have to. We can nab it somewhere further in the county." Pope said turning to us. "Just gotta figure out how to stop the train."

"Right." Kie nodded skeptically.

"Leave that to me." JJ said quickly and I turned and scowled at him, confused and intrigued by his statement.

"How you gonna do that?" Cleo scoffed in disbelief.

"Oh I got an uncle up in New Bern, right." he started to explain.

"The one that threw chains on rail road tracks when he was drunk?" I asked.

"Yeah, that's the one." he nodded before turning back to the group, "Okay, so he would get tipsy, and he'd throwan old chain across the tracks, just for shits and giggles. Anyway, that old little chain would stop all the train traffic in costal Carolina.

"A chain?" Kie asked unsure.

"He's actually right." Pope said and everyone looked at him surprised, and JJ had a smug smile on his face. "There's a low voltage current that runs across all rail tracks. You throw a chain on it and you close that circuit. It would read another trail, crossing lights come down... science is actually pretty sound." "

"Science." JJ said smiling and looking at me extremely pleased with himself. "I knew my science."

"Looks that way." I nodded at him, unable to hide my smile.

"But... we don't have a chain." Pope said.

"No, but I bet Topper's dad has jumper cables in the truck." Sarah mentioned. "Would that work?"

"Yeah." Pope nodded excitedly.

"Yo!" Topper called from the ground, and we all turned to look at him. "What's going on? Are we doing this or what?"

"Well, isn't he impatient to assist in a felony." I mumbled.

"All right, you all wait here." Cleo instructed, "Me and Pope will go look for it and send a signal once we find it."

"Do we actually have a plan right now?" Sarah asked.

"Think we do." JJ nodded.

"That's... so unlike us." I stated with a laugh.

"And pretty impressive," She added.

"Let's not jinx it while we're ahead." Pope said as him and Cleo started towards the ladder. "Come on." I watched as they left the train car we were on and ran quietly into the yard being sure to hide behind other trains before moving forward. At some point I lost track of them and knelt down staying low in case a yard worker showed up.

"This has to work." I whispered waiting for a sign that the train car was there.

"It will." JJ said quietly next to me and held my hand as we waited. "Come on Pope." it felt like forever, but in reality it was only a few minutes before we saw any sign of relief.

"Wait, hey." Sarah said lifting herself up slightly pointing in the direction of a specific car. I followed the direction she indicated and saw a figure climbing the side of the train before a flashlight was turned on and pointed at us.

"That's it." Kie said with a breath of relief. "We're green."

"Hold on." I said as we all moved to the ladder. A loud screech caught my attention from a distance and then there were additional gear's moving that clanged together. "Guys, I think... I think that trains about to go." I no more then spoke then the horn on the train conductor car went off and the gears made a louder whine from the train wheels and then the cars started moving.

"Trains moving, trains moving, that trains moving." JJ stated repeatedly as we all moved to climb off the train car we had been perched on. Once my feet hit the ground I ran around to the front and watched the train Pope and Cleo were on continue to move down the tracks.

"Guys, they're on the train, like they are holding on." I said and JJ came up behind me, his hands on my shoulders as he watched the train too.

"Yeah, we gotta get going." He agreed and we turned to walk quickly towards the Topper.

"Oh hey Sarah…" Topper said anxiously.

"Do you have any jumper cables?" Sarah asked without missing a beat as she approached Topper's truck.

"Here I am involved in illegal activities." Topper continued ignoring Sarah's question, and if the situation hadn't been so high stakes I would have taken a moment to enjoy the terrified look on Topper's face.

"You haven't done anything illegal yet Topper." I shrugged following Sarah to the truck as she searched for the jumper cables.

"I am not even close to being okay with this." Topper hissed.

"Okay." Sarah said simply pulling out the cables from the back seat for Topper's truck and handing them to me.

"Jumper cables… what are we doing with these?" Topper asked.

"Topper, if you don't wanna go, it's fine." Sarah said with a simple smile.

"Yeah, we wouldn't want you to do something you're not comfortable with." I added, "I mean, you can just hang out here and we'll take the truck." I said, looking at Sarah who nodded in approval.

"The truck..?" Topper breathed out running a hand through his hair.

"Yeah?" Sarah scowled.

"Okay, hey… I just want to make sure everyone here is okay with ending up in federal prison." Topper stated looking around. I moved towards JJ and his bike parked a few feet away.

Taking the jumper cables from me JJ looked up and tilted his head to the side before going back to work. "Uh, if it gets to that… yeah, I'll do it for Pope." He answered simply.

"Top, if you're gonna back out now is the time." I said following JJ and jumping on the back of his bike and signaled for the others to follow us down the tracks. We drove a short wase down the tracks, the truck stopping behind us to wait for the train to stop. Once JJ parked the bike and started walking to the intersection in the road where the train would pass.

"This should be far enough." JJ stated coming up behind me, tripping as he moved quicky through the brush.

"Dude…" I stifled a laugh as he picked himself up. "What happened… are you good?"

"Yeah, fine." He said stiffly, trying to brush off his embarrassment. Any amusement was quickly shut down as the train could be heard in the distance. "Oh God, you can hear it coming… okay let's fry this sucker."

"Sounds good." I said, my stomach starting to turn in anticipation and nerves. I watched as JJ moved along the track placing one end of the cables on the track closest to us and moved to the other side.

"Okay, now all we have to do is change the current." He stated under his breath.

"Please don't electrocute yourself…" I said watching him as he moved the other cable closer to the tracks.

"Yeah, I'm not gonna make any promises." He answered and I rolled my eyes. "Okay, three, two, one… and red." He said quickly clipping the cable down.

"Here goes nothing." I turned and looked up at the light as it shined green in the dark.

"Come on man… come on, come on." JJ whispered still kneeling on the other side of the tracks. "Okay, that's what he would do, that's literally what my… shit, so then it would change… and…" I listened as he spiraled and started to pace taking his hat off his head frustrated. "Okay, wait, what if I… what if I blockaded the tracks?"

"You are not standing on the tracks to stop a train JJ, that's suicide." I rolled my eyes and brought my attention back to the tracks, following the cables from each clip.

"Well we have to do something… what about like a tree?" he asked but I wasn't listen anymore I was focused on the tracks.

"Hold on." I said moving to unclip the red line of the cables. "The train doesn't just touch one side, to complete the circuit we need to have it touch both sides." I explained moving it to the other side and clipping it to the track, quickly turning to look up at the light. "Come on, come on… There is no other plan, this has to work…" as I repeated this to myself my heart jumped as the light changed to red. "Holy shit! Yes!"

"That's what I'm talking about!" JJ exclaimed pumping his hand in the air before jumping over the tracks and pulling me into his arms swinging me in a circle. I giggled wrapping my hands around him and hiding my head into the crook between his neck and shoulder. As he put my feet back on the ground, he slammed his lips against mine. "That was freaking awesome Roe, we did it!"

"Science baby." I laughed.

"And now we wait." He breathed out and pulled me off to the side behind a nearby bush. I knelt down and waited for the train to come around the corner. "It's gonna work... It's gonna work," I heard JJ whisper beside me, and I reached over and squeezed his hand, keeping my eyes on the tracks in front of me listening as the train got closer. The hiss and screech that came from the train as it rounded the corner almost had me jump back. "She's slowing down."

"They're breaking!" I nodded. The train came to a halt right before the crossing. "Holy shit, it worked." Lights on the road caught the corner of my eye and I grabbed JJ's arm and motioned to an approaching truck.

"Shit," he hissed. "Back up, back up." we both moved back further behind the cover of the bushes as we watched two men step out of the truck with flashlights to inspect the track.

"Crap, they must have called the light change in." I shook my head. "This wasn't part of the plan Jay... and we have no way to warn them." The two men evaluated the tracks and stared at the jumper cables for a second before unhooking them and moving from the track. The red light turned green again and I turned to look at JJ. "They've had enough time, right?"

"The trains starting." JJ stated and we listened as the engine came to life again and the gears started screeching again. "There goes the plan, come on we gotta help them." I followed behind him quietly running back towards his bike. As we ran, I heard a thump to the ground and turned just as JJ reached down to gather the items that had fallen from his pocket. Looking over my shoulder I watched the maintenance truck still waiting at that crossing and waited as JJ threw his leg over the bike. Rushing to put the objects that had fallen from his pocket back in them a wallet dropped to the ground.

"You dropped your..." I started picking up the money clip and turning it in my hand. On the front of the silver clip was a large MC engraved into it and JJ turned away from it and clenched his jaw. "How do you have... JJ please tell me you didn't."

"Look if they are going to accuse me of being a thief, if that's all they are going to see me as then I might as well get something out of it." he said with pursed lips.

"So you're just gonna give them a reason?" I scowled. "Why?"

"They're already against me, so who cares...?"

"Who cares?" I repeated. "Why do you care what they think? Why give in to what everyone thinks of you, why are you just letting them choose what or who you are?"

"We don't have time for this." he scoffed shaking his head.

"Screw what anyone thinks JJ, the people that matter know who you are, why are you trying so hard to be the bad guy here?"

"Dammit Roe, get on the damn bike." he exclaimed angrily and I narrowed my eyes and crossed my arms. I was stubborn and wasn't about to give in... until I heard the sirens getting closer and a truck sped past us. Whatever we had just been talking about quickly evaporated and turned into fear and worry.

"Shit." I said quickly moving towards the back of the bike, stuffing the money clip into my back pocket.

"That's Top and that's the cross, get on." JJ revved the bike and we quickly peeled out from the dirt road and followed after the truck, sirens chasing after us. The air slapped us in the face as JJ continued to accelerate to catch up to Topper. Looking over my shoulder the lights from the police cars coming up behind us illuminated the dark area.

"JJ!" I called over the buzzing of the motor and wind.

"I know." JJ yelled looking behind us. "I know." My stomach was in knots as we got closer to the truck and the police continued to chase us. When we made the plan, I knew the worst case scenario would be getting caught, and I was okay with the thought of going to jail so Pope could get his family cross, but with the looming fate closing in, it made me nervous. Nervous how we would come back from this, after being so close, so close to getting the cross finally, so close to having this chapter closed. Since being back everyone had been different, but while we sat on that ferry, we were all the Pogues again minus John B. I was terrified what this would do to us if we got caught.

"What are you doing!" Pope yelled as JJ pulled up beside the truck bed.

"Top keep going straight!" JJ called up to Topper.

"Y'all be careful all right!" I heard Topper respond but I was too busy focusing on the cops behind us and JJ trying to line the bike up with the truck bed.

"Get ready to jump!" JJ said over his shoulder, and I pulled back slightly scowling at him.

"What?" Pope and I questioned at the same time.

"Please tell me you're kidding!" I looked over at Pope wide eyed.

"JJ are you out of your mind!" Kie yelled at him beside Pope as they both leaned on the edge of the truck.

"Probably!" he answered. "Get ready to jump."

"I am not jumping off of this JJ!" I shook my head. "What's the plan when if I do?"

"Rowyn please." He said this time a little quieter and for the quickest second he looked at me over his shoulder and I could see the concern and worry in his own eyes. "Jump." Swallowing the lump in my throat I nodded and moved back a bit so I could lift myself up. Placing my hands on his shoulders I lifted one foot onto the seat taking a deep breath and closed my eyes trying to calm my nerves.

"Okay, come on." Pope called to me motioning for me to jump. He and Kie had their hands outstretched for me to grab onto. Opening my eyes, I stepped up with my other foot. "You got this, come on!" Nodding with shaky hands I released my right hand from his shoulder and reached out for Kie's hand, before quickly doing the same with my left hand before I pushed off of the back seat and grabbed Pope's hand in a vice grip letting them pull me into the back of the cab.

"Are you okay?" Cleo asked, coming up beside me as I swallowed hard trying to hold catch my breath.

"Yeah." I nodded looking up at her. Pope kept his hand on my back as I moved to sit up and watch as JJ hit his breaks, the back wheel came up pushing JJ forward as his bike spun before breaking on both wheels.

"What's he gonna do?" Cleo asked.

"I don't know." Pope shook his head.

"Knowing JJ... something dangerous and stupid." I added keeping my eyes glued on my man I loved staring down the police cruiser as it sped closer. JJ quickly leaned down picking a rock up from the ground and I instantly felt the pit in my stomach grow.

"He's trying to get killed." Kie said as we watched JJ start driving towards the cop car keeping his bike in a straight line until the last second. Turning slightly JJ lifted himself up and tossed the rock at the windshield of the cop car causing it to crack. The police car screeched to a halt before turning around to chase after JJ.

"Shit." I cursed turning to look at Kie and Pope.

"Hey!" Pope turned around banging on the top of the truck.

"Stop the truck!" Kie and I yelled along with him banking on the back window to get Topper's attention.

"Come on man!" Pope tried again.

"I'm not going to jail for y'all, not a chance." I could barely hear Topper's response but instantly got mad when the truck kept moving forward.

"Stop the fucking truck, Topper!" I yelled angrily slamming my palm on the roof of the truck. Through the window I could see Sarah arguing with him. The truck stopped and after a brief hesitation it turned back in the direction of JJ and the police.

"Let's go!" Pope said encouraging him to drive faster.

"Where... There!" I pointed to a motorcycle several yards away.

"Turn left!" Pope called but the truck kept straight. Leaning down Sarah was yelling at Topper before she grabbed the wheel, forcing the truck to turn. The four of us in the back of the truck stumbled to the side, Cleo catching me while Pope kept Kie upright. "What is he doing?" Pope asked watching JJ turn onto an overpass.

"Turn right!" I yelled, receiving an annoyed 'okay' from Topper. As we drove towards the bridge, I watched as JJ's bike started across it. On the other side of the bridge another car was driving towards him, and JJ was looking over his shoulder. It took a split second for the bike to crash into the wall missing the oncoming car. As I watched the concrete barrier crumble to the ground just in front of the truck my heart started hammering in my chest. Topper slammed on the brakes, and I jumped out of the cab before it was fully stopped. I could hear Kie telling Pope to go behind me, but everything sounded muffled.

Running towards the crash site the bike lay crumbled on the ground, the barrier above us missing and no JJ. I slowed my run to a walk and tears started to fill my eyes. "No." I shook my head, "no, no, no, no..."

"Where is he?" Kie asked, coming up beside me her arm around my shoulder.

"Shit." Pope's voice came. "Maybe he's up on the bridge?" I looked up and shook my head. The crash had happened so fast, and JJ... I repeated the crash over and over as the others walked around looking for him.

"I... I wish I could say I did that on purpose." I scowled as JJ's voice broke through my fog and turned towards where it had originated. JJ was walking towards us hat in hand looking up at the bridge. Blinking I was sure he would disappear, that this was a sick joke, but he remained there looking back at us. "But that was the gnarliest power slide I've ever done."

Pope was the first one to move, quickly embracing him, dust coming off JJ's shirt as his friend patted him on the back. "You're alive!"

"I know I'm surprised too!" JJ chuckled.

"Shit that was gnarly." Topper added.

"That was trucking dude," JJ started but Sarah stalked up to him pushing him hard. "Oh Jesus... oh God!"

"We really thought you did it this time Jayj." I heard her whisper as she hugged him. Kie gave my arm a squeeze before she moved forward.

"Don't... Don't ever do that again." she said before leaving me standing there a few feet away. I hadn't move closer, a part of me was terrified he would disappear. Just as Sarah had said, I was sure this time he did it, that he had left and wouldn't be coming back. As his eyes met mine I just shook my head.

"Roe..." he started his voice slightly broken.

"No." I shook my head pursing my lips together. "Just... no." my voice went soft and cracked as I spoke. He opened his mouth to speak but was quickly cut off by the cop on the bridge shining a flashlight down at us.

"Hey, you kids!" he yelled, JJ and I quickly ran back towards the truck as the other piled in. "Don't move, stay right there!" Jumping into the backseat I sat between JJ and Kie who was practically sitting on Cleo's lap. Topper took off down the road leaving the wrecked bike behind and the police scrambling to get into their cars.

"Shit, shit, they definitely called it in." Topper cursed once we were back on one of the empty side roads.

"Top, Top... turn here!" JJ instructed reaching across me so he could reach Topper.

"Don't touch... don't touch the driver man!" Topper exclaimed.

"Topper just turn around!" JJ tried again reaching his arm forward, but Sarah slapped his hand and glared at him.

"Stop, he said don't touch the driver."

"It's a liability." Topper stated.

"Topper, right now you're a liability if you don't drive faster." I groaned, turning to look behind us to see if the police were on us yet.

"The cops are chasing us, Rowyn." Topper scoffed and I scowled and turned to Kie who just shook her head and rolled her eyes.

"Then go faster." Cleo said.

"If I go faster, that's gonna draw attention." Topper argued.

"Yeah, I feel like that ship has sailed at this point." JJ muttered next to me, and I looked at him from the corner of my eye before shaking my own head.

"You guys are a nightmare; do you argue about absolutely everything?"

"Really Topper?"

"Put the pedal to the metal boy!" Cleo ordered anxiously.

"Maybe push it a little bit, you're going 65!" JJ pointed out. The noise in the car was loud and everyone was trying to put their say into how our driver drove us away from impending jail time. As he finally gave in and pushed down on the gas pedal the truck hit a divot in the road sending us bouncing in the cab. Above the noise inside the sound of the crate falling out of the cab and crashing to the ground, wood splintering around its contents. JJ's arm had come around me when the truck bounced, and I was leaning heavily into his chest when Topper hit the brakes for the second time that night. Looking through the back window the crate lay broken in the middle of the road, and I quickly looked at Pope whose face was spoke volumes about the situation.

"Shit! We lost the cross." he exclaimed, opening his door quickly Cleo following behind him. Lifting myself out of JJ's arms Kie and I followed him, Sarah close behind. By the time we reached the crate Pope was already shoving the lid off revealing a crate full of vase's that were now broken. Nothing in the crate had an ounce of gold on it, and nothing came close to resembling the cross.

"Wait, it's not here?" I scowled looking at Kie and Sarah.

"What the hell?" Kie responded.

"It's a fake." Pope stated disappointment, and anger filled his voice." We stole a freaking fake!"

"Of course, we did..." JJ scoffed rolling his eyes and taking a step back. "Of course, we stole a fake."

"Pope I'm so sorry." Sarah said, feeling guilty. It had been her idea, she had overheard it and gotten Pope's hope up. JJ slowly moved forward and placed his hand on Pope's shoulder. Sirens started moving closer and I watched Topper start to panic.

"Y'all hear that? Okay, I can't be here." he said running a hand through his hair anxiously moving towards his truck. "My grandfather's a judge."

"Yeah, we all know your grandfather's a judge." I rolled my eyes. "Probably how we know you are the last one that would get convicted for anything."

"I'm driving the freaking truck Rowyn, I'm just as likely to get thrown away."

"Would you relax?" JJ groaned, turning to walk towards Topper. "They're not gonna think some dude in flip-flops is a part of a robbery, okay."

"Oh yeah?" Topper stated pointing to the crate. "With the crate sitting right next to my truck... yeah I'm sure we'll be fine."

"Pope we gotta go." Kie said, starting to move back to the truck.

"Are y'all coming?" Topper called.

"Oh, for fuck's sake Topper give us a second." I shouted before turning back to Pope moving forward to kneel down next to him, placing my hand on his. "Pope, this isn't over. No one's giving up, but we can't do anything if we stay here."

"We gotta go." Sarah said behind us, and I looked up at the lights of the police cars flashing against the trees. Looking up Cleo nodded at me, and I stood walking towards the truck looking over my shoulder to see Cleo holding Pope's shoulders talking to him. JJ stood by the truck door waiting for me and I know he was waiting for me to look at him, to meet his gaze since the crash, but I couldn't bring myself to. Instead, I brushed past him without looking up and jumped into the truck, moving as close to Kie as I could. I heard him sigh loudly before jumping in next to me and we all waited as Cleo finally was able to pull Pope away from the crate and towards the truck.

Once they were in, Topper wasted no time peeling away from the broken crate in the middle of the road and away from the cops as they started to close in. The truck was silent as we drove back to the docks to await the next ferry. No one wanted to ask what next, or even analyze what had just happened. Leaning my head back so I was looking up at the roof of the truck, I closed my eyes feeling a stray tear roll down my cheek.

Hope this chapter wasn't to bad. I don't hate it but its not a favorite so if you have any tips or suggestions i am all ears :)

Thanks for sticking around.
