Master Control
Chapter 14
*Skreee*
The great flash of emerald light seeped out of the sides of the door frame. Izuku hesitantly opened the door, peeking outside of it and looking around. There was an alien somewhere here, hidden, doing something with alien parts and otherworldly thinking. Yet he could not make out why it would be near a hotsprings resort.
Stepping out of the porter potty he somehow teleported in, Izuku checked out the woods he was in. The blossoms danced around the air, making it all seem much more magical. Squatting down, Izuku narrowed his eyes at the petals.
"Omnitrix, are these alien plants?"
"Negative, the origin of this vegetation is terrestrial."
"Ok, good to know." Feeling safer he picked one up, flicking it over his finger. Just what was an alien doing here? Pulling up a local holomap of the area on his watch, he double checked everything that was around. No ships, pods, anything besides the resort hot springs for over a hundred miles. Nothing screamed alien, and that made it feel even more disturbing.
"Show me where the alien is on the map."
It zoomed in, right into the outdoor area in one of the three main pools. It began to line out details of what was inside, the rocks, mini waterfalls, wooden basins, and even the skin of-
"NOPEnopenopenopenoOOpe!" Slapping his hand over the image, Izuku made the minimap go away, along with what burned into his brain.
Turning to the resort, and back down the road, and one final time to the resort, Izuku sighed in defeat. He was going to have to go in there to find the alien, no matter how much he really didn't want to. Number one problem, he didn't want his identity discovered and nothing screamed 'look at me' like a UA uniform. Izuku needed new clothes before anything else.
"Ok, time to get a new look." Izuku dialed up the omnitrix, scrolling through the many features of it. There was one idea he had that was simple. Go inside the storage function, walk through many malls or even his own room and pick something out. But he liked the feeling of fiddling with the watch as he was brainstorming. An outfit, simple, not school uniform, easy to change out of if needed. Putting down all the menus he defaulted to scroll through the vast collection of over a million aliens.
"Incubator, Kineceleran, Dalek, Tetramand, Kryptonian, Incursean, there's something I'm missing." He needed clothes, not looking at other life forms. It would be cool if he could use their abilities briefly, but Eijiro and Himiko were permanently changed to get those powers. Going from quirkless to suddenly not would get tons of attention.
Izuku didn't even need that, he just needed to change outfits. His fingers paused when he hovered over the still image of a Polymorph, nicknamed Goop. The alien had an anti-gravity projector above its head to keep its form together in harsher gravity outside its homeworld. It was machine, but still registered as what the omnitrix added to its species to aid it. Scrolling back to previous ones Izuku saw that many forms had clothing, armor, containers, helmets, so many things the omnitrix rendered to let the aliens be compatible with a set world.
*click, beep, beep* Izuku altered the world the omnitrix was rendering the aliens to, changing from earth to a water based planet. Their outfits shifted drastically, giving nearly all of them diver suits or scuba gear if they needed it. "Wow."
It was amazing, the omnitrix didn't just store worlds, it knew what each species needed to survive in any climate and made outfits for them to adapt. If it could do that, could it change his own clothing to whatever he wanted? Izuku scrolled over to human, seeing himself in the hologram standing emotionless in his outfit. Locking the omnitrix to it, he scrolled through outfits it had. It had saved plenty of outfits he had worn automatically, from All Might merch to All Might merch to his previous school's outfit to All Might merch to….he didn't wear anything else did he?
*click*
"This is...different." Izuku noted the new outfit. Black t-shirt, blue jeans, prequirk shoes, and a nice green jacket with a white stripe down one side with a ten in the middle of it. It was surprisingly simple, subtle, but felt like one of a kind. It wasn't eye catching like his hero themed clothes, or school outfits to rise people's suspicion.
"Omnitrix, can you save what I have on me and put this on?"
"Affirmative."
Before he could do it, there was one last change he needed to make. "Make the shoes have a red theme, then issue previous question as instruction."
"Affirmative" *Skreeep*
A wave of energy emerged from the omnitrix, replacing his clothes with the one selected. Izuku felt comfortable in the oddly durable clothes. Moving his arms around, he felt no restraint to his movement. It was like a casual hero outfit!
"It's perfect."
Toshinori let himself relax into the cushioned seat. It wasn't easy for him to keep being the number one hero, especially with his health condition and limited time. Finding out his successor was in EraserHead's class nearly spit out a glob of blood, but she handled it well. Even if she can only use a fraction of One for All's power in short bursts, at least all she got was bruising instead of exploded limbs. Chiyo would throw a fit if that was the case.
Now all he had to do was some paperwork and he could catch up on some new episodes of some show about himself that he didn't even know they made until recently. "Domestic Might." It had him as the secret husband of Uwabami and their home life. It was hilarious the stuff they came up with, and how they casted someone with an australian accent to play him!
"A PHONE CALL IS HERE! A PHONE CALL IS HERE!"
"Please, change your ringtone." Midnight pleaded, deep in her own stack of files.
That was his personal, not business, so it narrowed it down to only a handful. "Hello?"
"Toshinori, it's been a minute."
"Naomasa, it really has been a while since we've chatted."
"Yeah, how has your successor been doing?"
"EraserHead seemed to give her a hard time, but she pulled through magnificently."
"Him huh? I've got mixed feelings about that."
"So does everyone." All Might chuckled.
"Speaking of kids, I'm calling about one."
"You're a father now?!"
"W-what the hell?! No!"
"Oh, sorry. You mentioned that one girl a few times."
"She already has kids, three of them. One of them I have a few concerns about."
Ah, so that's how it is. "Hey, I'm sure it would be hard for any kid to see someone get close to their mother. I'm sure if-"
"Stop, it's about him."
"Him?" Toshinori asked gravely, whispering into the phone. He hoped he was wrong, that this was just some household drama that his buddy was calling about. A kid that…"You're not saying he had a kid are you?"
"That….isn't something I considered, but there's no resemblance as far as I can tell."
Phew.
"Yet there's too many dots connecting together for me to ignore."
Shit.
"The kid's name is Izuku Midoriya, he's a first year in the business course at the school. I want you to keep an eye out around him. He's got a good heart and pure intentions, but whatever's happening, he's at the center of it. You've might have seen him around, green curly hair-"
Huh, kind of like that kid he ran into a minute ago.
"four freckles on each cheek-"
Just like that kid.
"and big green eyes."
It was that kid!
"Toshinori?"
"It's funny, I actually met him just earlier when he rushed to the bathroom. Does he have any food intolerances?"
"No, maybe his nerves are getting to him. He's quirkless and never had the best time at school."
"Well, then I'll make sure to keep trouble away from him." Bullying, it was hard to prevent it. They couldn't stop kids from forming opinions or having certain beliefs. It was like hero or police work. They were reactive, only able to respond once someone acted against someone else.
"It's more than that, but we should talk in person more to discuss it. Just, make sure he gets back to his sister and friends alright? They're good at keeping him safe."
"Do I just wait outside the bathroom?"
"Use the cameras, get Principal Nezu involved to help."
"Sure, but I want to know everything as fast as possible."
"We can meet later today at the school, just look after the kid alright?" He sounded tired, desperate, like he had been running for miles and miles with no idea where the finish line was.
"Yeah, I will."
"Thank you."
*Pop*
"You on a trip with your family or something?"
"Something." Izuku replied, tapping his finger against his leg impatiently.
"Mhmm." The older teen hummed, noisily chewing on her gum. Her blue bangs hung over her eyes with way too much makeup. She was a stereotypical emo, but he did appreciate the subtle Midnight reference on her cuff bracelets. A geek could always spot another geek.
"Outdoor or indoor?"
"Outdoor."
"Mens or mixed?"
"Do you need to ask that?"
"Mixed it is." She jotted down, judging the teen but not really blaming what she presumed to be raging hormones.
"Wait!" Izuku placed his hand over the paper to prevent her writing down anything incriminating. "I j-just wanted to know why you needed to ask b-because usually y-you just pay for either outdoor indoor or both."
"We're considering getting rid of the mixed because of complaints, perverts, and lack of people using it. There's a chance we're going to turn it into some kiddy area, maybe. I don't know. I don't get paid enough to care." She shrugged, sliding her paper out from his hand.
"That makes sense." Izuku nodded in agreement.
"So mens or mixed?"
"M...Uh, hang on one second."
Turning around Izuku pulled up the map in a less detailed layout. The alien was in the middle, between the two. Closing the map, he faced the woman. Please let him be wrong.
"Which one is in the middle?"
"The mixed."
"...I'll use that one."
"Mmhmm."
Izuku felt very uncomfortable as she wrote down his option. "I swear I'm not a pervert."
"I don't care either way."
Maybe he should be glad for her not caring, not asking how he got here without transportation, or no friends or family with him. Just a random teenager showing up in the middle of the woods to enter a public bath.
"Here's your receipt."
"Thank you." He whispered, grabbing the paper alongside his ticket. Used to people scamming him or tricking him he double checked the information. There was, something added he noticed.
"What's this?" He pointed to the string of digits scribbled on.
"My number, hard to find someone who speaks Russian."
Joke, just a joke, he shouldn't get mad at someone telling a joke even if it wasn't funny. No one likes the quirkless boy who...hold on, she didn't know he was quirkless. Yet it was only a matter of time before anyone would find out.
"I'm going now." Reigning in his sudden anger and disappointment Izuku marched off to the changing area.
The girl left absolutely bewildered by his spike in emotion, but she didn't show it much. Leaning her face on one hand she doodled away at a sheet of paper. "Damn, and he seemed kind of geeky too."
In the changing area Izuku quickly stripped down in aggressive motions. "She didn't know, don't get mad."
Deep breathes, in and out. As much as he denied it he was still hung up over his last relationship, if it could even be called that. Anything that reminded him of it just… "Focus on the alien, nothing more."
*fwip* Something fell out of his pocket, a tiny piece of paper. Izuku didn't put anything in it, so maybe it came with the outfit? "A coupon for Mr. Smoothy's? Never heard of it."
Putting everything away Izuku made himself ready and went to the hotspring. It was really steamy, unbelievably so. Coughing into his elbow Izuku dipped himself into the-"Ouch!"
He had to pull his foot away, the water was scalding! No wonder why they were getting so many complaints about the mixed bath, no one would be able to stand these temperatures and *COugh cough* Something was in the air around it, seeping from the rocks.
"Don't worry, they'll leave soon." Someone whispered to themselves. "Unless their quirk makes them invincible."
"H-hello?" Izuku called out, but kept coughing over and over. Who would make a resort out of this spring?! It smelled like rotten eggs, he could hardly breathe, and it was way too hot.
"Gosh they're stubborn."
"Why *COUGH COUGH* are you in here? It's *COUGH COUGH HACK* got to be unhealthy for *COUGH* anyone to be around whatever is *COUGH* happening!"
"Maybe for a human." They grumbled. It sounded roughly femenine.
Izuku could make out a figure now in the heavy mist, but it was agony to keep his eyes open. They stung, something was latching onto his skin and eating it. How has no one noticed anything?! Hold up, human?
"Are you the alien?" Izuku wheezed out, kneeling down to try and balance himself. The stones weren't cold, they were nearly as hot as the water. He might be dealing with a pyronite, or maybe pyrovile, no they couldn't handle water well at all.
"Wait, can you understand me?!" Splashing approached him, soft hands grabbing his shoulder and making him face the mystery person.
"Yes, are you not speaking Japanese?" *cough cough*
"No I'm...you have a translator, a genuine translator and not that trashy google one or a quirk! You really know about aliens and aren't some wacky lonely guy in New Mexico!" The girl shook him in excitement, close enough for him to finally make out details.
She had light pink skin with purple markings around her face that matched her eyes. Those eyebrows looked like branches or horns from an elk, sticking into her sopping wet magenta hair that clung to her exposed skin. Only a towel preserving her dignity.
"Oh shoot you're still human aren't you. Hold on it must be awful for you to be breathing sulfur. I'm going to grab something, stay there."
Sulfur?! That would explain a lot.
The alien left him there, her wet feet slapping the stone as she went to grab something. Now knowing what the problem was Izuku held his breath and kept his eyes closed.
"Here." She nudged something against his head. Izuku risked opening his eyes and noticed she was holding a pair of swimming goggles and the mouthpiece of a gasmask.
"Thank *cough* you." Izuku placed both on, managing to get clean air into his lungs. "That is so much better."
"I imagine." The girl said, starting to shiver and cling to herself. Not wasting another moment she went back in the near boiling water. "Ahhhh, sweet warmth."
Izuku pulled himself up onto his feet, looking around the place. "So, did you do something to the springs here?"
"Yep." Folding her arms on the ground she rested her head, staring curiously at the human who knew so much. "So, you seem young for an officer. Plus this planet has yet to have a representative in the Galactic Federation."
"There's a Galactic Federation?"
"Yeeeaaaah, you definitely don't know anything do you." She glanced at the watch on his wrist, Izuku reflexively wanting to cover it from view.
"Is that your translator?"
"It's...something." How was he supposed to cover for it. He couldn't tell her it was an ark from another universe, or what it could do to people. But she was an alien, and knew so much more about space and the technology it holds. There was a chance that it held her species, or had obtained it by now through her.
"Wait." He got her attention. "What are you doing here?"
"I was on a trip with my family, following in my own ship but got a little too close to your sun while trying to tan. Crashed here, distress signal wasn't working, so in order to make myself comfortable in your ridiculously cold planet I used the tech that I had to carve out a path in the magma to be slightly closer to the surface."
So that's why this spring was so awful for Izuku. Whoever this was adjusted it to fit her level of comfortability, even if it was awful for humans. It was reasonable, she wasn't exactly hurting anyone so there was no real reason to come here.
"My name's Esta. What's your name?"
"Midoriya Izuku."
"Good to meet you. I can't speak the language here so it's nice to be able to talk to someone after months."
"You've been here for months?!"
Esta sighed, flipping around and reclining against the rocks in the water. "Yeah."
Her face was turned away, but Izuku bet she was close to crying. He couldn't imagine being stranded on a different world, unable to speak the language and hiding in the only place you could feel comfortable. He wanted to help her.
"Alright." Izuku got up, Esta looking back curiously. "I'm going to help you."
"How?"
"I don't know yet." He gripped the omnitrix in his hand, feeling more and more confident in it and therefore the bearer. "But I will."
Esta got out of the springs, walking straight to Izuku and wrapping her arms around him. "Thank you."
"This is an unusual request. I would have expected you to have me keep an eye on your personal student." Nezu sat at his desk, patting his paws against the keyboard.
"It might concern her." Toshinori answered the Principal, sitting right across from him. "Yet I don't want to tell her unless I have firm reason to suspect the boy."
"He already got caught in a ruckus today."
"Did he?"
"Yes, Cueball expelled a student in her class because he attempted to steal Midoriya's watch. Amusing though, because it's a PQE."
"A permanent quirk effect? Strange."
"Indeed, but now that you are bringing this up I can share my thoughts." Nezu turned his chair to face All Might directly. "The attempted thief said his quirk worked on it, giving an estimated value if it was sold."
"His quirk said the scar was valuable?"
"Yes, infinitely. I asked if he could use his quirk on organs but he said it didn't work on people, or scars."
"But aren't PQE's basically scars?"
"Yes." Nezu agreed, looking back to the monitors and clicking his mouse. "So what is that watch upon his wrist?"
Toshinori's eyes widened. So his suspicion of the boy being a secret child of All for One wasn't what they should be looking after, it was what the man might have left in the boy's life. "We need to speak with Naomasa as soon as possible."
"He's on the way, alongside others already involved." Nezu clicked the screen again, and again, checking the same thing several times over.
"Who?"
"Your previous sidekick and teacher, but I have something to ask of you."
"What do you need?" All Might preferred to ask why those two were involved and had mixed opinions about those two. Yet if All for One was alive, or his previous acts are unfolding, then they needed all hands on deck.
"Check the bathrooms to see if Midoriya is still there. Either he is feeling ill or he managed to find a way to sneak through the security to leave." Nezu flipped his screen around, showing the camera outside the bathroom. Toshinori saw the video rewind to when he ran into Midoriya, then the child going to the bathroom. Students and teachers passed by, one or two going in and out. Yet never did he see Midoriya come out, and nearly two hours had passed.
"Ok Midoriya, I'm ready!"
Izuku already dressed in his new favorite outfit turned around to see the alien. She was wearing a heavy coat lined with fur, her face barely visible in her hood with all the fuzz. Esta looked like she was about to try hiking through Antartica.
"Don't look at me like that, my planet is volcanic and way warmer than your cold rock." The woman came up to his side, looking around the area. "You didn't bring a vehicle?"
"No, I...came on foot."
"Geez you humans and your ridiculous stamina." They began walking away from the springs, Esta adjusting the straps on her back. She was carrying everything left that she owned in her bag. From technology to clothes, all her essentials. It was a shame she couldn't stay at the springs, but it would have been shut down eventually from no one else wanting to go in.
Izuku wondered how the employees never noticed how awful it was for humans in the mixed area, but if they were like that one girl at the counter they probably didn't care enough. "Ok, so you're a Kraaho right?"
"Ok, you're a shapeshifter right? Zygon, Sludge Puppy, Gem, or maybe an android?"
"I'm human, really!" Izuku held his hands up in surrender, the alien getting up in his face.
Esta narrowed her eyes at the boy, giving him a quick pinch on the arm. "Ok, a psychic?"
"No."
"Mind reader?"
"No."
"Did you read my diary?"
"No!"
"Well maybe it's one of those weird mutations I keep seeing all over the place! Seriously, the galaxy looks away from your planet for a little bit and suddenly you guys are sprouting too many traits to categorize!"
"No I'm...quirkless." Izuku admitted, ready for some harsh words or for him to be ignored. Maybe awkward silence this time.
"What's that?" Esta asked earnestly.
Recoiling from the mental smack to his noggin, Izuku realized he kept forgetting he was with someone who didn't know about earth culture. "I um, don't have a special mutation."
"Really?"
"Yeah."
"Thank goodness." Esta sighed in relief. "I avoided so many humans because I thought that might be contagious."
"Quirks?"
"If that's what it's called, yes!"
"But quirks are amazing!"
"Not to us aliens!" Esta jammed a finger to her chest. "To us it looks like your species cells are tearing themselves apart and freaking out over everything, adapting to environments never experienced, granting abilities to combat things never seen, giving way too many arms to do more tasks than you would ever do. Humans are a biological volcano if I've ever seen one."
Izuku was baffled by what he was hearing. To his world quirks are what made someone special, unique, and is a gift you should embrace. If Esta spoke openly in the heart of town she would start a riot. "Right, so you need to live somewhere volcanic?"
"Yes, the more toxic to humans the better."
"..."
"Not that I hate humans! I'm not racist!" Esta waved her arms, trying to deny any assumptions. "They're just...gross? Not you! You're great!"
"..."
"I'm not racist!"
"Do you want to try heading to Yellowstone? That is pretty close to your species liking." Izuku lifted his arm, pulling up the global map of Earth and zeroing in on the famous park.
"It's got sulfur, springs, and plenty of volcanic activity right under the surface." The boy summarized.
Esta looked at the omnitrix, her eyes tracing over the design and interface. "That's how you know my race. You've got alien tech. Some sort of, personal data archive?"
Izuku wasn't planning on revealing the full secrets, but it's no surprise an alien would recognize alien tech. "That's an accurate description."
"Yallow Rock seems really far though. Are we taking one of your space shuffles?"
"Space shuffles?"
"Yeah, I know my earth knowledge isn't great but I still took a credit in transition education. You have space shuffles, those ships you use to get out of the atmosphere and drop down somewhere else."
"Oh! You mean space shuttles."
"I don't have anything like that." He couldn't get a car, or a boat, or a plane. Anything that would get them out of the country would be too long or require paperwork for her. There wasn't any other option to get her to where she needed. "Random question, how advanced are teleporters considered?"
Pony waited in front of the school, sitting against the gate. School had long been over and Izuku's friends and sister had left. They told her to go home, that he would be fine. But it didn't make her feel better, she was worried about him. He had a rough time from what she heard, accused of stealing, man she didn't know how she wouldn't have handled it.
Izuku might not want to talk about it, stay silent and not answer any questions about the day. He was a private boy, but she wanted to be there for him. Every time there was a way to help someone she noticed Izuku wouldn't hesitate. Somehow she wanted to repay that kindness he showed to her. When he comes out, Izuku might tell her she shouldn't have waited here and that he was fine.
That was fine, Pony was selfish and she knew it. Always wanting Izuku to be her translator, to help her at every moment. If he did that he wouldn't be helping others, and then he wouldn't be Izuku. Stupid feelings, not making any sense.
"Oh, Ms. Tsunotori." Tsukauchi came walking up speaking english. "What are you doing here?"
"Waiting for Izuku." She admitted, sulking a little more about how long it was taking. Pony didn't notice the serious look on the detective's face.
"I assume your friends told you to go home?"
"Yes."
"And you wanted to wait for him?"
"Yes."
Tsukauchi smiled at the girl, bending down to sit next to her. "So, how long have you been waiting?"
"Three hours."
The older man winced, taking his hat off and leaning his head against the grand UA wall. He fiddled with it, running his fingers over the brim of it. This was some of the hardest parts of looking into someone with secrets around them, seeing how it hurt others. Tsukauchi knew Izuku would only say what's necessary, and he was smart, managing to avoid his quirk. Of course he didn't think Izuku was hiding something regarding All for One, no, just things that affected his social circle. Oh the drama of teenagers.
"How do you think Izuku feels about you?" Tsukauchi asked.
"What?" Pony looked over, never having thought of the question seriously.
"Does he hate you? Like you?"
"I...don't know."
Lie, whether she knows it or not.
"If Izuku hated you, would he spend so much time with you? Help you?"
"He's nice, he helps everyone."
He bit back a laugh, shaking his head as he remembered so many dinners at the Midoriyas. How many Izuku skipped out on because he was busy helping someone, or hearing Eri's complaining about Izuku being late to her quirk practice, and Himiko hating it when Izuku would barge in on her streaming at times to grab something and run out.
"Ok, yes he helps people. Anyone who needs it."
Pony waited for him to continue, the man going somewhere obviously.
(So do you really need help learning Japanese?)
(Of course! I'm slow and need Izuku to help me, always!)
That grin, that grinny grin that's so grinny spread across the detective's face. Pony was confused, just what was….She buried her head in her arms, blushing furiously in embarrassment.
"That was some pretty good Japanese. Good enough to not need any help."
"Shut up."
"So, what do you two spend all your time talking about after reviewing material you already know?"
"...We watch All Might films, shows, and read comics. Geek out about heroes."
Truth.
"Well, I don't think Izuku would spend all that time geeking out with you if he didn't like you."
Pony suddenly didn't like officers, their cunning and trickery to get to the point. Why couldn't they just mind their own business?
(Is this a new victim?) Some different man asked.
Pony looked up, her eyes widening at the sight. It was Sir Nighteye! All Might's previous sidekick! She scrambled to grab her bag, pulling out her autograph notebook and holding it forward. The hero raised an eyebrow at it, looking to Tsukauchi for an answer.
He just nodded, affirming the hero to continue on. Without looking and with extreme practice he signed the notebook and handed it back to the girl.
(Do you want mine too?) A little old man asked, walking up to them with a cane in hand.
Pony stared at the man, wondering if dementia had taken hold of him. (Do you live close to the Midoriya's?)
(Unfortunately. That girl is always screaming in her room at video games, keeping me from taking my naps!) He complained, waving his cane around and ready to beat some sense into someone.
(We'll talk inside.) Tsukauchi nudged his head to the direction of the school.
(Right, come on Torino.) Nighteye commanded, leading the adults to enter.
"See you Ms. Tsunotori. I'm sure Izuku will call when he can."
Pony watched as the men went back to the school, leaving her alone to wait for the boy. The notebook in her hand containing a very special autograph, one she would give to Izuku when he finally showed up.
"Oh the springs here look amazing!" Esta leaned over the railing to look at the brilliant bright blue pond, steaming with warmth and that wonderful smell of sulfur.
"They really do." Izuku felt the gentle wind brushing through the trees. Yellowstone was beautiful, somehow surviving through the emergence of quirks and all the chaos. It felt wonderful to be able to share one of the best spots Earth has to offer to another race.
"I can't wait to jump in and feel that-"
Izuku yanked Esta off the wooden railing and away from the water. "What were you doing?!"
"I was going to test the waters out!"
"The last person who tried that was melted!"
Esta froze in shock, stepping away from the pond that was less than ten feet away. "And you just, leave it out in the open. No barriers?!"
"There's a fence." Izuku pointed to the flimsy wood railing that served to help people stay on the wooden paths.
"I nearly died!" Esta grabbed Izuku and pointed at the deadly waters. "You have something alluring, looks like a harmless chemical that you frequently swim in, but would dissolve your flesh if you went in."
When you put it that way, yeah it seems really dangerous to leave out. But it would ruin the park's natural beauty if they sealed off everything dangerous. Ok, maybe humans were incredibly risky. "There's a fence."
"That anyone could jump over, or crawl through. I bet I could even knock it over!" She complained, grabbing the wood and easily shaking it. "It's not even well built."
"Maybe we could check another place close by?"
"Fine." Esta gave in, following Izuku as he pulled out a local pamphlet and looked through the paper map. Another breeze came by, making her shiver. The alien grabbed Izuku's arm, holding it to absorb some of his body heat. Izuku stopped walking, questionably looking at what she was doing.
"I'm cold, and don't get any ideas I'm thirty years old."
"And I'm human."
"Exactly….hold on that sounded more racist than I intended."
They continued on, the longer their adventuring through the natural sights the colder Esta began to feel.
"Your planet has a lot of diversity on the surface right?"
"Yeah."
"And I remember something about seasoning, how parts of the world go colder and warmer depending on the time of the year."
"Oh! That's because of Earth's tilted axis." Izuku smiled, feeling special to share unique Earth facts.
"And you haven't fixed it?"
"Our wildlife relies on it. Are there other planets like it?"
"None habited. The more I learn the more I'm freaked out about how anything manages to stay alive here."
"Isn't your planet in a constant state of eruption?"
"Our planet is consistent, and anything dangerous is glowing red so everything knows not to touch it."
Izuku nodded along, thinking about her home planet. Yeah, comparing their planets like that made Earth really weird. In nature, bugs, fish, tons of things that were poisonous or dangerous tended to evolve with bright colors and looked appealing. Or you couldn't see it, and it would strike you before you knew it was there.
"So, it gets colder here during winter?" Esta asked, clinging closer to Izuku. The boy was blushing, but he knew that it was only for her to get warmer so it was fine.
"Yes."
"How cold?"
"Um, normally during winter between negative twenty to negative five degrees celsius."
"That's literally freezing!" The alien fearfully declared. "This is already too cold, but anymore and I would eventually die!"
"We might want to try somewhere else with more consistent weather then, one with volcanic activity. What about Hawaii?"
"Sounds exotic, what's it like?"
"Let me show you." Izuku went to pull out his phone, only to realize he didn't have it in his pockets. He patted them again and again. Crap! Where was it?! Did someone steal it? The last place he saw it was when he checked it right before he….he switched what he was wearing in the omnitrix.
"Something wrong?"
"I...left my phone in another pair of pants. I'll just use this." Forgoing internet images he pulled up the globe on his watch, the hologram slowly spinning. "There, that's where Hawaii is. It's near the center of the equator so even when the axis tilts it gets about the same amount of sunlight either way."
"Hold on, the prison is safe?"
The green haired boy blinked a few times, processing what she said. "Prison?"
"Well, more like a banishment spot. There was a trial for some mad scientist a while ago who made illegal genetic experiments designed to destroy whole civilizations. They ended up banishing it to there."
"You mean, aliens have been dumping experiments on Earth?!"
"It was just one! At first...I think there's hundreds by now." Esta realized the fault in revealing that by how pale Izuku just got. "Don't worry! Their cellular density is too great to swim!"
"How is that legal?!" Izuku asked in panic. Hundreds of civilization ending experiments, on Earth.
"Earth isn't recognized as an advanced enough civilization to join the Galactic Federation! Besides, from what I've seen so far they probably just melted from trying to swim in the danger pools."
That...may be right. Earth has plenty of deadly areas where hardly anyone could survive. Plus, tons of people have quirks. They could defend themselves from experiments, especially if All Might is around. No way would he let those things cause real damage. He probably already knows about them from his time in America and his summer visit to Hawaii a few years ago.
Izuku felt Esta start to slow down in walking. He matched her pace until it came to a stop. Her shoulders were lax, and she started to hug him tighter. One thing about the Kraaho species is that they were stretchy and flexible, so her arms wrapped several times around him. It reminded him of how his sister would hug someone when she felt extra clingy.
"Is there really somewhere here on Earth I can live?" She asked, but that's not what she really wanted. Just like anyone else stranded, she wanted to go home. That's where her family was, her friends, and tons of memories.
Izuku wished he could take her there, to teleport to her planet just like he did around the Earth. He didn't even know he could do that until today. But maybe he still didn't know how far the omnitrix could really teleport! "Omnitrix."
*beep*
"Can we teleport to the Kraaho's homeworld?"
"Affirmative."
He could travel across the galaxy this entire time. The holomap scrolled out, showing how far the planet was from their current position. Esta's gaze was locked on the image, hope overflowing her heart and spilling out her eyes. "I...can go home?"
"Yeah...I guess you can."
"Wait!" Esta pulled out the gasmask and swimming goggles from her bag. "You wouldn't be able to breathe the air, and it's going to be really hot so-"
"I think I have a solution." Izuku stopped her, scrolling back to the options he had for clothing. Just like the before, the aliens were shown to have outfits to let them survive the climate of whatever planet they would be on. If he went to human, and put the world as Esta's….
The clothes around Izuku changed in a pulse of light, becoming a hardened shell with a built in gas mask and tinted lenses.
"Wow." Izuku's filtered voice came out through the suit.
"Wow is an understatement!" Esta said grabbing his new exosuit. It was metallic, some type of metal meant to reflect heat and keep him safe. "Your watch has navigation, a scanner, universal translator, an interstellar teleporter and built in multiworld suit creator! I can't imagine the kinds of people who would want to get their hands on it!"
"Um, please keep it a secret. It's really not something I want others knowing about."
"I bet." Esta stopped circling his heat resistant armor, stepping in front of him. "It means a lot you're sharing this secret with me, all so I can get home. If it came from someone closer to my age I might ask them to be my husband."
"And not human?" Izuku joked, glad the armor was hiding his face. It helped, having your face hidden so that you could be more open. Otherwise he would have died of embarrassment if he said that without the helmet.
"If it was a human like you kid, I wouldn't mind." Esta patted his helmet. "As long as they don't have a freaky quirk. So if you ever find yourself suddenly aged up a decade let me know!"
Both of them laughed, just letting all of it out before returning to her homeworld. It wasn't said, but this was essentially goodbye.
"Ready?" Izuku asked, holding up the omnitrix.
"Ready." Esta said, pulling down her hood so she could see her own world without fur in front of her eyes.
"Omnitrix, teleport us to Esta's homeworld."
*SKREEEEE*
*click*
Izuku opened his apartment door after using the spare key. He was back in his new attire instead of the space suit. Tugging at the green jacket, he smiled as he looked at the ten. Not sure what it meant or stood for, but he liked it. Today had been great in the end, even if school was really all over the place. Finally, he felt like he did something right with no worries about the repercussions. Maybe this is what Paradox meant for him, to use the omnitrix to help out aliens and things of the sort on Earth. The omnitrix was alien tech after all.
"Izuku!" Eri came bolting forward, colliding with his chest.
"Oof!" Hey Eri. How was-"
"Where the heckadoodle have you been!" Himiko sent an arm from her spot on the couch, slapping Izuku repeatedly with her stretchy hand.
"Izuku we've been worried sick!" Inko came from the kitchen, the smell of dinner coming with her.
Dinner, it shouldn't be dinner time. He was only gone for half an hour max helping Esta out. Looking up at the clock on the wall, he paled when he saw the time.
It was late, really late. He had been gone for seven hours without letting anyone know where he was or what he was doing.
"What's with the new clothes?" Himiko asked grabbing his jacket. "It makes you look like some American hooligan."
"Izuku, are you becoming a hooligan?" Eri asked, not really sure what the word meant but worried about what it might mean.
"Izuku." Inko sternly commanded his attention. "I have tried calling you, texting you, and so have your friends. Where, have, you, been."
"Um, sorry..I lost track of time. This isn't exactly a real watch hehe." Izuku weakly joked, holding up the omnitrix.
"Where, were you?" Inko asked again, but in a tone that demanded an answer.
"I was….at some hot springs."
"And you couldn't even send a text?!" Inko smacked the counter. "And where did you get those clothes? Where is that UA uniform that costs so much?!"
Izuku tapped the omnitrix, indicating it was stored inside. "I'm sorry, I found out some...new things about the watch and ended up leaving my phone inside. I'm going to figure out how to get it out and make sure it never happens again."
"It's the first day of school Izuku." His mother's words were out of concern now as she approached. "After what Himiko said about your day, and the call I got from your teacher asking about you, we were worried sick!"
"My teacher called?" Izuku asked confused. There wasn't anything for Cueball to call about though.
"She was worried that she might have joked around with you too much in class and made you feel alienated. She wanted to apologize and make sure she didn't cross any boundaries."
That, was nice, nicer than any previous teacher he had. Ever.
"The Kirishima's called as well, so did the Ashido's, and that poor Tsunotori girl was worried sick about you. It didn't help you didn't tell her what happened at school, she had to find out from Mina."
Pony, oh crap he didn't tell anyone where he was. Guilt started to eat at Izuku as his mother continued.
"Izuku, you've always had issues with school. You almost decided to be homeschooled once Eri came along. You were looking forward to UA for so long, your dream school, and to hear what happened to you and not know where you went for seven hours! We were terrified!"
She's right, she's always right. Izuku does nothing but cause trouble and worry for them.
"Not to mention your track record for getting into near death scenarios." Himiko added, knowing full well she was one of them.
"We're not going to even think about that." Inko got her to be quiet, leaving no room for interruption. "But she's right, you find trouble too often Izuku, and it worries me that one day it's not going to let you come back."
Shit, that's how Izuku felt. His family, friends, and teacher were incredibly worried about him and he hardly even spared a thought to think about them.
"So please." Inko begged, hugging her son alongside Eri. "Tell us when you're hurt, worried, or need something. It's not like before when it was just the two of us. You have so many people now that want you safe and sound."
"I'm sorry." Izuku hugged them back, squeezing them so they didn't see his face. "I'll make sure to reply to your texts and calls."
"Was it really hotsprings?" Eri asked from his arms.
"Only for a little bit. I thought I found something that was connected to the watch."
"YOU WHAT?!"
"I'm ok! There was never danger! I made sure to be absolutely safe!" Izuku affirmed to them, showing him he was totally ok.
"Did you find what you were looking for?" Himiko asked, eyeing him curiously.
Izuku remembered Esta, how he helped her, discovered new features, and found new meaning to using the omnitrix. "Yeah, I did."
There we are folks! It wasn't a dangerous alien, just a lost one that's back home now. Izuku discovered the galaxy is much bigger than he predicted, and is filled with life that knows about Earth. What will he do with this? What can he do with this?
Omnitrix feature for large scale teleportation is from when it took Ben to Primus, aka the main feature. The suit one is taken from how the omnitrix makes the costumes and so on, like XLR8's helmet, NRG's containment suit, Goop's antigrav disk, and even some inspiration from the Ben 10 reboot. It showed the omnitrix making Ben a space suit when he needed it without transformation.I didn't need to reference it, but it's still there.
I threw in non Ben Ten aliens for amusement, and will not involve them in progression of the story or plot. Otherwise if/when Izuku discovers transformation he would almost always go superman. So no, don't EVER ask me to get a non ben ten alien thrown into the plot. This is a Ben 10 crossover, and anything else is just a tiny glance.
If you're wondering why I had all those Isekai characters last chapter, I was writing the chapter while incredibly sleep deprived and was too lazy to make up a bunch of OC's to fill in business course roles. They are converted to be MHA universe style with quirks instead of magic or whatnot. Cueball is an OC. I wanted to make a fun character that had a quirk and theme that no one would have immediately connected to hero work. Like Stilt Man, Cueball is my Stilt Man.

Let me know what you think about it and if you want to see more!
lucarioDN:
In the anime, he's very overpowered and has tons of magic stuff, but what I felt made his character special was how he couldn't feel heavy human emotions. So I focused on that and made it this version's quirk alongside a skeleton mutation. I just needed filler characters, not overpowered side characters.
duskrider:
True, very true. They are really similar but I don't see a need.
Entomoid:
Lucky you, it's one from the Ben 10 franchise and it's not Nezu. Nezu is not an alien, and I don't make non franchise aliens significant to the story.
The-Gamer-6818:
It was gone before he could begin to really think about what he should do about it, so once it left the current scanner range he couldn't pin it. Also, he was just trying to find one specific alien near him. Scanning the whole galaxy would get results he didn't want.
Gamelover41592:
She does kind of remind me of Ms. Frizzle now that you point it out! Wacky clothes, personality, carefree attitude.
D3lph0xL0v3r:
I don't have any plans for him in the future, kind of like Izuku's ex. He was based off the main protagonist from Death March to another world. I hate the show, so I made the character hated. Simple as that.
CueBall is an OC I made, one that I had lots of fun making.
SonicMax:
It can, but Izuku just wanted to find an alien nearby in Japan. If he scanned the whole galaxy he would just get the results of 'yep, aliens on a lot of planets.' Izuku was already aware that aliens existed on other planets, but one on earth was a surprise.
Dekiru81:
You're right, it was cheap. I would have done OC's if I had enough energy, but I didn't so I pulled some Isekai characters for some people to have fun. Kaminari Thor has the possibility to be very important to the plot of Dark Desires, but until I feel I want him involved he doesn't get as much time in the story.
Blaze1992:
Not really, I just needed some filler characters and was too lazy at the time to make them. I don't want them involved deeply in the story at all.
Funny-Little-Cute White Fox:
Not for a while.
Hello:
No, she's alive. She was in the last chapter and participated in the fitness tests. I even said that she managed to get an infinity score in the ball throw.
Planar-Walking-Entertainment:
It's a Ben 10 alien, specifically one from Omniverse. I just changed the character up a little to be full alien, slight name change, and older.
Guest01:
Just characters taken from other shows because I was too bored to make up some filler characters. They have quirks instead of magic, and aren't overpowered.
XxGargantuaxX:
It would be a while before I even have the chance to think about it, but thanks for the offer!
LincolnRonnie94:
No, but it would be a cool concept of one.
