Master Control
Chapter 21
Pony waited outside on the street, dressed in her school uniform as she looked up and down the pathway. In her hands she held her bag, waiting for her friend to come join her. Though she wasn't sure if that was still going to happen. Ever since that day, the USJ, she had kept to herself. It was an awful experience, something none of them should have had to face so early in their training. Izuku himself should have been far from there.
Every time she closed her eyes, she only saw him being taken away by that portal, stealing him just outside her grasp. When she gave a brief testimony to the friendly detective, he mentioned to give Izuku some space and wait for him to approach her.
He hasn't though, and she was afraid he never would. Pony failed him, failed to keep him away from harm. It wasn't surprising he was staying away from her. The weight of responsibility was thrown on him when he never asked for it, and she didn't even try to carry it with him.
The girl let out a shallow sigh, realizing he wasn't coming back to walk with her to school, or sit at lunch together, play old hero games, listen to cheesy theme songs, or even-
"Hey."
Her eyes shot up, seeing Izuku giving her a small wave.
"Izuku!" She began to run forward to him, slowing down when she realized that he wasn't alone. Himiko, Mina, and Eijiro were with him.
"Don't be shy!" Himiko stretched her arm out, grabbing Pony and enveloping her brother and the girl in a big hug. "I missed your funny accent!"
"Is that racist?" Eijiro whispered to Mina.
"Nah, there's too much love behind it." The pink girl waved his concerns off. "Besides, I want in on this hug fest!"
Mina glomped Himiko's back, the girl's muddy body being indented at the impact. Eijiro was about to jump in when a purple hand shot out from the tangled mess and stopped him.
"You're too poky." Himiko told the crystal boy.
"Himiko?" Izuku looked at the mess of a hug they were stuck in. "Are you wearing your uniform?"
"Nope!" Himiko gleefully smiled back to her brother. "I'm going full commando today!"
"Lucky." Mina whined.
"Can't you be expelled for that?" Eijiro asked, partially concerned.
"Psh, not like they care if I just shapeshift one." Himiko pulled herself away from the group hug, twirling in place until her uniform manifested. "See! I get all the comforts with none of the stares!"
While the three were discussing Himiko's self proclaimed freedom, Izuku noticed that Pony had yet to exit the hug from him.
"Hey, is something wrong?" He asked worriedly.
(I should be asking you that!) Pony tightened her grip on him, her forehead digging into this shoulder. (Your detective friend said that when you were feeling better, you would reach out. But you didn't.)
His arms came around her, softly caressing her shoulders. "I'm sorry. There's been a lot on my mind between my family and answering UA's questions."
Izuku pulled back, looking her in the eyes and keeping his hands on her arms. "I didn't mean to ignore you, you're important to me and I don't want to lose you."
Pony nodded, looking down towards his shoes feeling embarrassed at his sudden deceleration. While she knew Izuku to be caring and motivated, he seemed especially bold now. No nervousness, no stutter, but still Izuku.
"Yo Izubro." Eijiro came up, giving Izuku a big sharp smile. "Let's get going already."
"Right." Without hesitation, he grabbed Pony's hand and started walking forward, stunning everyone else. The girl was doing her best not to panic, Izuku simply leading on with her hand in his, together, holding hands!
Mina took out her phone, taking a picture while Himiko was still frozen at the sight. Eijiro felt his soul start to lift, seeing Izuku be so manly after all the crap he had been through. Finally, Izuku stopped, turning back to his sister and friends, confused as to why they weren't following.
"Everything ok?"
Himiko just lifted her thumbs, her jaw still hanging. Izuku turned to where they were looking, his hand holding a very flush Pony's. He turned into a walking tomato, separating his hand from hers and wiping the sweat he instantly made. "S-sorry!"
There's the Izuku they knew.
Taking his seat, Izuku pulled out his school work. While he was already caught up in class, he still had to rework nearly everything for his special project. Two of his classmates now had new appearances and abilities. He'd still need to talk to Jiro and Yanagi about what abilities they could manifest and maybe do outside training for them. Jiro he knew had the ability to duplicate, and while shorter, she should still be able to play her instruments and become a one person band. Though that depended on her multitasking ability, given that sonosarians had more of a shared consciousness between one another as they were 'echoes' of one another instead of being completely separate in thought. She also no longer had the ability to plug herself into audio ports, so that was an issue he would have to solve for her.
Yanagi on the other hand, could still expand on her ghost theme and keep her original costume if she truly could turn herself invisible. If her intangibility also worked, then that put her potential way above any underground heroes. In fact, she could be one of the few that could be open about her work to gain marketability and still have no issue infiltrating places.
Kaminari was going to need a new fighting style and much better support gear, his tactics he had been making instantly thrown out the window by bad weather.
Uraraka, he would think about her situation with her parents later.
Kendo, he was having trouble figuring out her quirk. She seemed to have a good handle on it, but there seemed to be two parts to it. One was energy projection, manifesting simple constructs of pink light that she controlled at will. The second was more confusing, how the girl mentioned that she could 'channel it through her body and make herself stronger'? No matter how many times Izuku thought on it, it didn't make sense. He'd have to ask her more about it next time he saw her.
Of course, it all depended on if they wanted anything to do with the hero course, or him. He revealed some of the things he could do at USJ, and his quirk status was up in the air because of it. Not only that, but he altered the DNA of two of their classmates. Izuku frowned, thinking about taking away a huge part of Jiro and Yanagi's lives. Yes it was necessary to save their lives, but it wasn't the same life anymore. He was lucky Eijiro was so grateful for his DNA being spliced without knowing fully what was happening. Himiko, well she didn't know the first time, crying about losing a part of herself she valued for so long. It took nearly a year for her to decide to ask him for the omnitrix to splice her with something else.
Wait, he was forgetting something wasn't he...CRAP! He totally forgot about Eraserhead! Izuku balled clumps of hair on his head in his fists, banging his face against the desk. That was a pro hero, holy shit it was a pro hero whose entire career was based around the fact that he could negate quirks! He's probably super pissed, having no warning to adjust his job around new alien powers that didn't serve as his old powers.
What else was he forgetting, he didn't splice anyone else. He corrected the genetic damage of the nomu making him a normal quirkless man, he blasted the leader, and what else did he do there…
His eyes widened, hiding his wrist under his desk he activated the omnitrix, scrolling through the various aliens. There, the most recent addition to the omnitrix. It looked just like the warp villain, the misty man manifested in holographic form on his wrist. A complete scan had been done, he had the villain's DNA in the omnitrix. He had a stable quirk factor, the first Izuku had ever encountered. How? Why couldn't Paradox just give him a manual when he gave the watch to him?
Better yet, why did he have to be so vague when Izuku questioned him at Los Soledad?
Switching the hologram off, Izuku leaned back in his seat as he vaguely noticed his other business course classmates entering. A headache started to form in the back of his head, his anxiety not letting him take his thoughts away from what else he forgot to mention.
Forgot to mention….SHIT!
Izuku thought back to one of the many questions that the Principal and other UA staff asked about. The detective, the man with a lie detecting quirk present, when Izuku answered he only met the strange man once.
That was a lie, he met Professor Paradox twice now! Why didn't he say anything? Was his quirk based off if the person knew they were lying or not? What if it was subconscious, the quirk knowing if he lied or not even if Izuku didn't give much thought to it?
That's it, he was going to be arrested, locked away forever. Izuku laid the side of his face back on the wood, accepting his fate. It was bad enough he lied to an officer, it was worse because Izuku lied to an old family friend who stuck his neck out for them time and time again. How could he betray the man's trust like that?
"Oi, Midoriya."
Someone tapped his shoulder, glancing up it was Subaru. The taller boy was giving him a concerned look. "We heard you were at USJ, you sure you're ok to be at school?"
"I'm fine." Izuku tried to assure him, only to be called out by another student.
"Bullshit!" Kazuma Sato shouted. "If I was you, I wouldn't even come back to this school! You're not even a hero course kid and you had to deal with villains, quirkless!"
"What's wrong with being quirkless?" Naofumi sent the boy a harsh glare.
"Nothing! But I wouldn't want to try fighting someone without a quirk!"
"Shut up. You're too loud." Tanya hardly focused on them, already writing in her notes before the teacher arrived.
"I would have been prepared." Seiya muttered to himself.
"Sure, and you were also prepared for that pop quiz last week." Rimuru teased.
"I'm glad you're not hurt Midoriya." Aletta approached, giving off a nice comforting aura that soothed everyone.
"Yeah, happy to hear there were no casualties." Itami smiled to the boy.
"None that were reported." Ainz mentioned gravely.
Silence filled the room, Izuku no longer able to look at any of them, remembering the blood that soaked his clothing, his hands.
"Way to kill the moment." Sora threw one of his playing cards in the air, catching it in his sleeve.
SLAM*
"Gooooood morning class!" Cueball stepped into the room, a bright smile on her face. When she saw the gloomy faces of multiple teenagers the woman sighed, putting her binder on her desk. "Alright, obviously we're a little shaken up about the whole villain attack thing. Some more than others."
Izuku did his best not to feel the gaze of thirty eyes at the back of his head, rather focusing his efforts towards the teacher.
"If any of you want to transfer to another school or simply want to talk about your options going forward you can make an appointment with Hound Dog." Their teacher was oddly serious, pulling out some chalk and writing down the info for them on the blackboard. "This is his email and the school site you can go to in order to set up one of those. If you don't reach out we're going to assume you are planning to continue your current classes at the same pace as before. You have one week."
A few of them started whispering to one another, a week wasn't very long to suddenly decide if you wanted to stay here or go somewhere else.
"I know, it's a small window. But we're doing this because we need to know who is going to participate in the sports festival or not." Cueball's announcement sparked some groans in the class, Izuku twisting his head to see all the disappointed faces. What was so wrong about the sport's festival? It was where all the hero course students got to demonstrate their skills and quirks to demonstrate that….oh right, these were business course students.
"You've got two options for the sports festival." Cueball then made two big circles, labeling them as competitors or investors. "If you want to set up a concession stand, talk with agencies, get a step into the business world, here's your chance."
She then made a green stick figure with all sorts of scribbles around it, especially the head and dots over its face. "If you don't think you had a fair shot at the hero course when applying, the sports festival is the place to use your smarts alongside your talents and kick ass!"
Cueball pumped her fist, staring right at Izuku who stiffened under her gaze.
"If you show not only the staff, but the whole world you've got the guts to be a hero, this will be your shot at getting your foot into the door of the hero program. Impress me, and I'll make sure you get in." The hero finished, flipping the piece of chalk in the air and catching it without looking. She then pointed it straight at Izuku, smirking right towards him.
"So, what do you say?"
Get his foot in the door? What's she talking about? Izuku knew his place to help his friends to be heroes was here in the business course. Unless…
He began to raise his hand, Cueball grinning madly at the sight.
"Our first volunteer! I knew you would-"
"Am I still assigned for the helping future heroes assignment?" Izuku bluntly asked, Cueball's smile slowly fading.
"I mean, technically yes. We can put that to the side for now."
"But the best chance to help them with their future careers would be before the festival, not after." Izuku reasoned, if he was going to make it up to the others in One A this was his best shot.
"That's, true." Cueball agreed, albeit hesitantly.
"So, may I be excused to get started? There's some, recent changes I need to clarify with them." Izuku rubbed the back of his head, knowing Cueball would understand what he's saying. No one in his class besides his teacher knew about his specific involvement at the USJ.
"...Ok." Cueball gave in, letting Izuku pack up his papers and head out the door. After a moment of silence, Cueball pulled out her eightball, shaking it angrily.
"Will Izuku join the hero course?!" She shouted into it. "ASK AGAIN LATER?! YOU SON OF A BITCH I NEED ANSWERS NOW!"
Subaru leaned over to Tanya, whispering in the smaller girl's ear. "Do you think she's crazy, or the eight ball actually has some divine omnipotence?"
"If there is a higher power behind it, her anger is justified."
Jiro kept glancing around the classroom, everything and everyone feeling bigger. She wore a hoodie under her blazer, keeping her hood covering as much as her face as possible. Yes it was against the dress code, but there was no way that she was going to acknowledge the looks she was getting. It stressed her out just being in here, but somehow the idiot convinced her to come to school still.
"Hey." The shortest one in their class, Mineta came up to her.
"What?" Jiro cringed, hearing how even though she got over the pauses in her words there was still that computerized filter in her throat.
"Now that we're closer to the same height, you wanna try andGAH!" The midget was zapped from behind, Kaminari giving him a glare.
"Buzz off."
"Kaminari!" The stern officer of their class, Tenya Ida shot up from his desk. "Using your quirk in class is-"
"Perfectly acceptable under the circumstances." Kendo quickly jutted in, putting a hand on the stern boy's shoulder. "Try to refrain from using it outside of training though ok?"
"Alrighty." Kaminari accepted the terms, sitting back down. Then giving a worried gaze to Jiro. "Hey, sorry if I went too far."
"It's fine." She quickly said, pulling her hood over her face a little more.
"Hey." A raspy voice spoke to her immediate right. Jiro flinched at the sudden appearance of Yanagi, her figure more intimidating than she remembered. Especially that ghostly blue eye that was peering between the tear in the skin on her face.
"Jeez! When did you get here?" Kaminari was catching his breath, recovering from a mini heart attack.
"A few minutes ago. I was testing something." Yanagi then showed them her hand, making it invisible, visible, and phasing it through the desk in front of Jiro. "These new powers are really great."
"I know right?!" Eijiro piped up from his spot, growing red crystals on his arm. "I loved my quirk, but this is totally cooler."
The ones currently present in class gave the boy a look, now everyone's attention on the redhead.
"You mean, Midoriya changed you too?" Kendo asked with some surprise.
"When did this happen?!" Mina slammed her hands on her desk, demanding an answer.
"Oh, uh, when I was a kid. My quirk started degrading and gave me cancer basically. I met Izuku in a hospital and he cured me! Later he gave me these sweet powers. Ever since we met we've been best buds!" Eijiro retracted the red crystals, smiling to Jiro and Yanagi.
"So, what new cool things can you do?" He asked the two girls, Yanagi grinning creepily as she floated with her legs crossed. Lifting her hand it was covered in inky darkness, picking up a few random utensils with the same dark energy.
"Flight, telekinesis like my old quirk, invisibility, and intangibility. I'm working on making other things I'm holding invisible and intangible with my body." She looked over and saw how Ida looked ready to explode at them, instead of stopping she gave him a scowl and picked up one of his own pencils to shove it up his nose.
"Gah! This needs to stop immediately!" He yelled out.
"Make me." She threatened in a whisper.
"Guys, come on." Kendo got up again, holding out her hands. "We just survived a villain attack, we shouldn't-"
"Not all of us." Jiro whimpered in her arms, Kaminari hovering his own hands over the girl, wanting to comfort her but not truly knowing how.
Before anyone else could voice their thoughts, the door slid open. Their much taller teacher walked into the room. Similar to Yanagi, he looked even more intimidating than before. His glowing red eyes washed over them as he spoke without no obvious mouth.
"Good morning, I'm happy to see none of you dropped out from having a first taste at what your hero careers will be like. Keep in mind this happiness will not last if I see any of you growing complacent with how you handled things."
A hand raised in the class, one unseen unless you looked at their sleeve.
"Yes Hagakure?"
"Um, what more could we have done?"
"That's a very good question, and one I will gladly expand upon. This was actually what we were going to be spending the day discussing." Stretching one of his fingers to pick up a marker, some of the students were internally freaking out at the display. Right after writing down the first point of listening to superiors and not blatantly rushing villains, a knock was heard at the door.
With his height, Aizawa could see through the class window and spot the mess of green curly hair waiting. "Come in."
Izuku opened the door, quietly stepping inside and closing the door behind him. "Excuse me."
"Um." Momo Yaoyorozu raised her hand, glancing between the boy and the teacher. "Pardon me but, I was under the impression that Midoriya was arrested."
"...How the hell did you come to that conclusion?" Eraserhead asked with genuine curiosity.
"Well, from the fact that he never signed a combat training release document, no written consent from the individuals he modified, and was pulled aside by the police for intensive questioning, not to mention carrying illegal unregistered technology that oh, he's still wearing it." The ravennette now stared at Izuku's watch, many others following her line of sight and spotting it.
"Why isn't that thing confiscated?!" Mineta shouted in obvious fear.
"Why does it matter?" Bakugo scoffed. "It's just a dumb watch."
"One that can take away quirks and change your life." A boy with a large tail spoke.
"Oi! He would never do it without consent!" Eijiro shouted in anger.
"I don't think those circumstances allowed full consent." Momo argued in a calm manner.
"While I do believe his intentions were pure." Ida stood up, chopping his arm in the air. "They clearly were outside any supervision and ignored several laws! Midoriya, I recommend turning your watch over to the authorities and-"
"I think what he's trying to say is Midoriya still broke the rules, kero." The frog girl added.
"So did we, how else would we have gotten out of there?" Uraraka tried to defend.
As the class was starting to bicker between one another, Izuku began to slowly step backwards, not wanting the attention. This was exactly what he had been trying to avoid, the omnitrix and its abilities being revealed. While there was no demand from the authorities to attempt to remove it, debate over it was already happening.
Kendo could see why All Might had his eye on Izuku now, that watch was a very real threat even if it was currently in the hands of someone nice. Fear suddenly sparked inside of her, realizing that if he wanted he might be able to erase her quirk, or worse, One for All. If it was her that was injured, would she have lost what All Might gave her?
Pony was struggling to translate all of the words being thrown about, but she knew the effect they were having on Izuku. He looked alone, afraid, completely different from how she has always seen him.
The lights went out, startling the class.
"Quiet." Yanagi commanded them in a low tone. Her ethereal eye pierced their souls as dark energy swirled around her fingers. "If you think what he did was wrong, then that means my very existence is wrong. If any of you try to undo that, I will-"
"Enough." Eraserhead spoke, towering over the class with his own glowing eyes. The black straps of hair floated around his head ominously. He may not be able to erase their quirks now, but his stare carried the same results as before. His arm reached over and flicked the lights back on, his gaze still on the ghostly girl. "Need I remind everyone that this classroom is for hero students, not debate club."
Yanagi sat back down, releasing her hold on a few items in the room.
"Good." The teacher then turned to Midoriya, motioning him to the front center of the class. "Midoriya, would you care to share your circumstances concerning the omnitrix and why you still have it? Keep it short but make sure to get in everything you need them to hear."
Izuku just now realized he was holding his breath, geez this class was scary. Dragging his feet to get into position, he looked over the classroom. His friends, Mina, Eijiro, Pony all gave him reassuring smiles. He wasn't alone, and that's what mattered.
"When I was ten years old, a man I never met before gave me what he called the omnitrix. I didn't really know what it was or what it could do, but I accepted the gift. Soon after when I was at a hospital to be treated for, burns... I had received before beforehand-"
Bakugo turned away, looking outside the window instead. Eijiro watched him, trying to gauge the explosive blond. It was hard to make out his emotions, given the fact that he rarely showed more than two, but if he had to put a word to it, it would be regretful.
"-The doctor examined my new gift with an identification quirk. They said it was not just attached to my arm, but my DNA."
"Hold on, you mean that it's stuck to you, permanently?!" Hagakure shouted in surprise.
"They diagnosed it as a PQE, a permanent quirk effect." Izuku answered her, holding his arm up for everyone to see the omnitrix.
"Couldn't they just cut your arm off?" Mineta asked, trying to propose a solution.
"If it's really a part of his DNA, it wouldn't remove it." Shoto spoke up for the first time.
"That would explain many things." Momo said to herself. "Though I can't say I've ever heard of a PQE with functionality that you've demonstrated with it."
"Do you know who made it?"
"Did they catch the guy who gave you it?"
"What other things can you-"
A glowing glare from the teacher got them to shut up again, he then motioned for Izuku to continue.
"I don't know who made it, I don't know where the man who gave it to me is, and I don't know everything it can do." Izuku ran his fingers over the rim of it, pondering over the mysteries that the alien device held.
"What I do know is that it can take quirks, heal genetic damage, and splice a person's DNA with something new. Whenever my life has been in danger, or tried to manually remove the omnitrix, it sends out a blast of energy as some of you saw at USJ."
The answers he gave them, while true, hardly satisfied many of them. Only Eijiro knew as much as Izuku did, albeit not as detailed for what Izuku has written in his notebooks. Many confused, worried, curious, or even doubtful glances passed between the One A students. Only two hands came up, respecting Izuku by not shouting out or demanding a response.
Pony, and Kaminari. Feeling slightly biased, Izuku pointed to Pony first.
"So, are you quirkless?"
"That's very offtopic." Eraserhead stated, worried about where the conversation would go.
"Yes." Izuku answered quickly, not looking back to the girl. If she stopped wanting to hang around him, he would accept that. He really hoped she would still be his friend though. He turned his attention to Kaminari, who still patiently had his hand raised.
"Yeah, do you by chance have any electric powers in the watch?"
Kaminari cringed as he heard tons of chairs squeak as everyone spun towards his direction. He expected this to happen, but Jiro herself seemed the most shocked at that question.
"Are you saying you want your quirk taken?!" Mineta screamed.
"Hold up, are you actually asking for new powers?" Eijiro questioned him.
"You're fine the way you are! You don't need a watch messing with your blood!" Toru slapped her desk, one arm assumingly pointing at Izuku's omnitrix.
"Denki, why?" Jiro asked, still flabbergasted at his question.
"Because I was useless!" Kaminari confesses, gripping the sides of his desk. "We were in the rain area, my quirk doesn't work well in rain and is way harder to control, when I did try to use it everything went to shit. Yanagi, when you were bleeding out I only thought about how stupid I was. Jiro, when I was with you and we were looking at, you, all I could think about is how I caused that."
He gets up, heading straight to Midoriya and bowing right in front of the boy. "I can't thank you enough for picking up my incompetence, if I could give you my spot in the hero course I would."
"WHAT?!" Several students shouted in shock, some from hearing Kaminari willing to quit, or the notion that he thought Midoriya would be a hero student.
"If you think-" Jiro started, but was cut off by the blond.
"I'm not doing this as some way to make you feel better about yourself. This is something I want, for me."
"Kaminari." Eraserhead spoke, coming up to the boy. "You do realize if you go through with this, you will not be getting your quirk back."
"You're allowing this?!" Ida spoke up in shock.
"It's his choice." The teacher spoke simply. "Midoriya's as well, as far as I'm concerned none of you have any right to get between their choice on the matter."
"Are you sure you're not biased because of, you know." Kendo motioned to his whole body, the teacher uncaring for fear driven opinions.
"No, but my choice isn't going to matter either. I will warn him that he will have to adapt to new abilities while keeping up with his classmates otherwise he will be expelled." The taller man then looked down at the semi cowering Kaminari. "Got that?"
"Y-yes sir." Kaminari knew it was going to be hard, but watching someone die or dying in front of you was harder.
"Well I'm sure Recovery Girl will have some say in it." Eraserhead told Midoriya and Kaminari. "I'd also make sure you get the opinion of your parents beforehand, we will most likely need their written-"
Kaminari pulled out a slip of paper from his pocket, a hastily written and most likely not legally binding signatures at the bottom. "I also have a video of us talking about it and them signing it."
"How, how did you get them to agree?" Jiro asked, stunned alongside Yanagi.
"Well." He sheepishly rubbed the back of his head. "After I explained your original quirk and how your new one let you blast apart my room so easily over the phone, it was pretty simple."
"You can do that?!" Midoriya was already next to her, writing furiously in his notebook. "Ifyoucanalreadytransmityoursonicblastsoversimplespeakersthenadaptingtoanykindofsupportgearwouldbeeasynotonlytomentionhowifyouusedapsasystemitcouldrenderawholebuildingunderyourvoiceyetthebetterquestionwouldbeifyoucouldrecordyourattacksandplaythemthroughdifferent-"
Izuku was cut off when he felt Aizawa pick him up, taking him to the door with Kaminari right behind him. "This might take a while, let's bring it up with the nurse and see what she says."
Looking back to the class, he gave them one last warning through his eyes. "Bakugo"
"Hm?" The boy lazily looked back to the teacher.
"Lead the discussion about what happened at USJ and list things that you believe you did wrong. Don't talk about someone else's shortcomings if you weren't there when it happened or if they're not present."
"YOU'RE LETTING BAKUGO BE IN CHARGE-" Closing the door behind himself, Aizawa held in a smirk at imagining the class's reaction to his decision. While he could have had someone like Kendo, Momo, or Ida lead it each of them would either spend too much time analyzing or try not to hurt anyone's feelings. It was also a chance to see how much he had improved, the results on the board when he gets back would show Aizawa that.
"You're absolutely sure about this?" Recovery Girl asked for the thirtieth time.
"Yes." Kaminari assured her, starting to become agitated. The school had called his parents, gotten their written permission on a formal document, and run all sorts of tests on his body before anything was done. Now he sat on a medical bed with Midoriya, Eraserhead, the Principal, some guy that was skin and bones with messy blond hair, and his parents.
"Ok then, are we ready?" The small furry head of the school asked Midoriya.
Izuku nodded, holding the watch up to Kaminari. Everyone held their breath as a flash of green filled the room, leaving the shirtless boy with plugs hooked up to him to succumb to its will. When it died down, Kaminari looked over himself.
"I don't feel different, what kind of powers did you give me?" He asked with some excitement.
"All I did was take your quirk away for the first part." Izuku told him, scrolling through the omnitrix and marking electric based aliens.
"Ok, so what are we waiting for-ow!" Kaminari flinched as a needle was stuck in his arm.
"This is the first time we're doing this in a controlled environment." Recovery Girl explained as she began taking some blood. "You bet I'm going to be running every test I can along the way to make sure you're perfectly healthy."
"He doesn't look that different." The boy's mother noted, running her hand through her son's hair. "His lightning shaped birth mark is still here, I always thought it was part of his quirk."
Kaminari stretched out his fingers, trying to ignite a spark between them. Nothing, no quirk, no static, nothing. He was quirkless.
"While she's doing that." Eraserhead looked back to Izuku, who was continuing to fiddle with the watch. "What do you think you'll end up giving him?"
"Well." Izuku cycled through a few more aliens. "While I'm marking all of the ones that revolve around electricity, he doesn't have to have energy based powers. If he wants he could pick aquatic, speed based, flight, plant, lots of different things."
"Do you have any for healing?" Recovery Girl asked while looking under a microscope.
"Some, but they are more roundabout ways of healing." Izuku scrolled to a mechanical looking alien, then a plant based one. "Because it's not their main focus, I can't guarantee someone would get that power. I've always tried to give someone powers that are similar to their quirk so they have some idea how to control it."
"Speaking from experience." Aizawa held up his hand, unwrapping the layers of fabric that composed the limb. "When you gave me something unlike my quirk, I somehow adjusted fairly quickly to my new body. What I imagine would take someone years of practice, I could do immediately."
Demonstrating what he meant, the teacher jumped slightly, staying in the air much longer than he should have. "Everything has come natural to me at an unnatural rate. I think whatever you do to someone, they gain an understanding of what their body can do."
"That sounds incredibly helpful." Nezu clapped his little paws, looking towards Yagi. "Wouldn't you agree."
"..yes, very." Toshinori hesitantly agreed, still put off about this whole thing.
"Well, I can't find anything concerning." Recovery Girl came back, printed sheets of medical data. "He is a perfectly healthy boy, just missing a quirk factor."
"Alright! Super power me up!" Kaminari pumped his fists, getting his hair tugged by his mother.
"Hold on! You haven't even told the kid what powers you want!"
"Ah, right." Kaminari gazed at Izuku's omnitrix, seeing the displayed creatures. "So, I choose the powers of one of these guys?"
"Yeah, did you still want to stick with electric?" Izuku asked.
"Yeah, better to stick with what I know you know?" He grinned to Izuku, who scrolled to the electric aliens.
"You've got a frankenstein one?" He poked the hologram, Kaminari's finger passing right through it.
"This one comes with enhanced strength, electrical discharges, and even some magnetic control." Izuku pulled out one of his notebooks, showing it to the boy.
"Where did he get that?" Yagi asked Aizawa, who only shrugged.
"It looks dope." Kaminari grinned, already imagining himself as some type of frankenstein guy who had mega electrical punches.
"More like gross." His mother noticed the metal sticking out of the flesh. "While it's your decision, please know you're not going to be getting many girls looking like that."
The blond boy drooped his head, realizing the truth to his mother's words. "Alright, what other ones you got? What about one that makes me smarter?"
"Yes please." His father joked, getting smacked by his wife.
Izuku scrolled to a crab like alien. "This is one of the smartest ones, who also uses a type of electric telekinesis to control his environment and choosing whether it shocks or not."
"Will I smell like fish food?" Kaminari asked with concern, only getting a shrug from Izuku. "Alright, show me some more."
Izuku showed him a large gorilla like alien with metal disks over his body, although Kaminari wasn't willing to shave so much hair. Scrolling to another one that was a tall black humanoid with two appendages atop the head, that had enormous electrical absorption and discharge. It seemed just like his last quirk, only much better and would give him some better strength and endurance.
"I think that last one seemed really good." Kaminari's father voiced his opinion. "It's close to your old one but your main weakness is gone. You should have no trouble keeping up with your classmates with this one."
"I guess." Kaminari put his head on his hand, not feeling super satisfied with any of the choices so far. If it came down to it, he might pick the cyclops. While he wasn't doing this purely for Jiro, and he already had his quirk erased so he couldn't turn back, there was still some part of him that wanted to relate to her better and grow closer. "Hey Midoriya."
"Yes?"
"Got any ones that are similar to Jiro's?"
The boy thought about it, there was hardly any like hers that also retained electrical powers.
"Honey, aren't you being a little picky? You don't need to impress that girl." His mom came forward, brushing her hand through his hair.
"Midoriya did state there are over one million different power sets to pick from." Nezu pointed out, letting them know this could take much longer than they thought.
"Actually, I think I have one in mind." Izuku scrolled the omnitrix until it settled on a battery like alien, a crazed smile on its face.
Kaminari looked at it, unsure about how odd it looked. "What can this one do?"
"Well, it's similar to the last one we looked at." Izuku enlarged the hologram so the others could view it easier. "It can absorb, redirect, and generate a limited amount of energy. There's some enhanced durability and strength but not comparable to the others. While it can't breathe under water it can fly and merge with any form of electricity. What makes it similar to Jiro's is that it can duplicate itself and has sonic screams."
"Seriously?!" Kaminari smiled, imagining an army of himself zapping all sorts of villains or jumping out of power lines to ambush people.
"That would be a very useful powerset." Aizawa put his own two cents out there. "Even if it doesn't come with enhanced strength, having mobility and a well coordinated team with ranged attacks would let you be able to handle most villain scenarios with ease. After you're properly trained of course. I'm having a hard time imaging how I would be able to stop you if you match the potential I see with that."
"Sounds like we have a winner." Kaminari's father sighed, glad they finally came to a conclusion.
"How does it handle in rain?" The blond asked with seriousness. Izuku sighed, glancing back to his notebook.
"It won't be the best at ranged, but you would still have more mobility to get into close range to compensate."
"Hmmm." Kaminari hummed, thinking over the option laid out in front of him.
"Oh, it also has some regenerative abilities." Izuku mentioned to the side.
"If you don't pick something with that I will smack you." Recovery Girl warned, already raising her cane.
Kaminari chuckled, sitting up straight. "Well, I guess we found it. Do your thing." He held his arms out, awaiting the transformation.
Izuku placed his hand on Kaminari's chest, mentally commanding the omnitrix to splice the DNA.
Skreee*
A familiar flash came over Kaminari, temporarily blinding everyone present. When it died down, Kaminari looked at his hands. There were parts of his skin that was black, his arms looked like they had compression sleeves that wrapped around his palms and the back of his hands. Also on the back of his hands and the sides of his upper arms were round disks with glowing yellow holes and rings around them. It traced up to biceps, where it came from the back of the arms to his torso, where a rectangle was cut to still let his chest and stomach be exposed. The black shoulders wrapped around his neck and stretched to his jawline. His face was still exposed, his ears turned into metal disks with a plus and minus symbol on opposite sides. His hair remained the same, just feeling a little sturdier than before. Finally, his eyes were glowing yellow, constantly humming with energy.
"Please tell me he'll get taller." His father commented, making Kaminari investigate his new height. He was five feet and six inches tall before, now he was significantly shorter. He lost an entire foot!
"I actually think this is the best case scenario." Izuku flipped his notebook to show the height of the Nosedeenians. "The default height is about a foot."
"Wow, I really lucked out didn't I?" Kaminari chuckled, feeling the energy buzz in his voice.
"Let's do some tests first." Recovery Girl pulled out another needle, wearing thicker rubber gloves. "We don't know if you're fine or not yet."
"I feel just fine, actually, I feel great!" Kaminari jumped up, floating in the air with some sparks of lightning around his frame.
"Sit down." Eraserhead grabbed the boy, pushing him back down and only getting a tingling sensation in return. "You need a full health examination, after that we're going back to class."
"Fine." Kaminari complied, his legs jittery every single second he was holding still. They noticed this right away, the boy now more active than before. After a few tests, some taking longer than others due to Kaminari accidentally shocking the equipment hooked up to him, he was finally given a clean bill of health. The boy was excited, ready to test his limits, ready to train now that he had something that wasn't going to fry his brain.
"Shouldn't they be back by now?" Momo asked aloud, only to get a growl from Bakugo who was writing on the board.
"Do you think something went wrong?" Hagakure gasped, getting a louder growl from Bakugo.
"I don't know." Kendo sighed, only to suddenly erect a small pink barrier in front of her face to block a marker thrown at her.
"They'll be fine!" Bakugo finally yelled at them. "The nerd did it while people were nearly dying around him, and you don't see those three keeling over now do you?!"
He pointed right at Yanagi, Jiro, and Eijiro. Jiro tried to retreat further into her jacket while Yanagi and Eijiro seemed to take it with pride.
"It's only been a few days for them though, hardly enough time to make a conclusion." Ojiro noted.
"What if they have some quirk disease?!" Mineta panicked, only to get smacked in the forehead by a marker.
"We're not diseased." Yanagi hissed.
"Hey, I've never even felt sick since Izubro gave me my new powers, and that was years ago." Eijiro pointed out, annoyed at the comments.
"Shut up!" Bakugo shouted again, slamming his hand against the white board. "Now then, pinky!"
"Me?" Mina pointed to herself.
"No! The other one!"
They looked around at each other, until finally Kendo pointed at herself with a confused glance.
"Yes you!" Bakugo yelled while pointing at her with another marker. "Tell us how you messed up at USJ while fighting handjob!"
"Why am I pinky?" Kendo asked instead of answering the demand.
"YOUR QUIRK IS PINK YOU IDIOT!"
"Bakugo! This is not appropriate behavior for-" Ida went to stand up, but narrowly dodged another marker thrown his way.
"I'm in charge here and we're going to fill every single wall with your weakness!"
"We've barely filled out one board." Shoto said bluntly.
"BECAUSE ALL OF YOU CAN'T KEEP YOUR MOUTHS SHUT OR ANSWER THE DAMN QUESTIONS! FUCK!"
"Bakugo! Cursing is-!" Ida ducked, ready for the marker but it didn't come. Surprised he wasn't assaulted he was about to speak his piece, only to get smacked by an eraser.
"Well." Kendo spoke up. "Because my quirk couldn't be degraded by his I could have restrained him and then knocked him out."
"FINALLY!" Bakugo wrote it down under his 'Reasons You're not Heroes' list.
"Isn't this a little mean?" Pony asked, only to get her horn smacked by another eraser and stick to the end of it.
"Not your turn yankee!"
"Woah man." Eijiro stepped up. "That's kind of racist."
"NO IT AIN'T! Out of everybody here she actually managed to perform somewhat decently. She prevented puffy from getting mauled by her own quirk, held off the misty bastard who I couldn't immediately stomp, got lead feet over here to go get back up, and waited at the meet up point while patching up mummy."
"...Did Bakugo just give someone a compliment?" Ochaco asked the class, who nodded in stunned agreement.
"That doesn't mean you can just sit around you hear me!" Bakugo pointed straight at Pony, who nodded her head vigorously, shaking the eraser off her horn. "Now, how did you mess up?"
Something pushed itself against the door outside, more and more background noise filling the room from the hallway. Bakugo tried to ignore it, but the commotion was getting really loud. Finally he snapped, his palms exploding the marker in his hands. He stomped over to see who the hell was messing up his focus on getting the others to see their miserable selves. Throwing open the door, he saw tons of UA students standing outside the class.
"HEY! MOVE YOUR ASSES WE'RE TRYING TO HAVE CLASS!"
"It's lunch already! You don't have class!" One of them with silver hair yelled. Bakugo looked up at the clock in the room, seeing it really was that time. AND THEY BARELY GOT STARTED ON REALIZING THEIR MISTAKES! "Damnit!"
"Is this really the class that survived a villain attack?" A blond pompous boy pushed himself forward enough so he could see the rest sitting down. "I'm sorry, we must have the wrong room. If this one represents you all then you must be the self entitled club."
He was about to make another remark, but then his eyes paused seeing Yanagi and Jiro. His grin widened. "I see you already got rid of two of your old classmates. Could the prestigious One A students not handle a few thugs and run off? Or maybe they happened to be defeated by a measly mugger?"
Jiro turned her head away, unwilling to acknowledge the newcomer. Meanwhile Yanagi was already standing up, ready to rip that mouth off.
"Shut your damn mouth." Bakugo growled, very tempted to smash the door against the supid thick head right in front of him.
"Oh, so was I right?"
"OI!" Eijiro got up, storming over to the scene despite Ida's protests. "You think we picked a fight with villains the first week of school?"
Ignoring him, the blond just laughed to himself. "You know what I see, just a bunch of hot headed individuals who couldn't handle themselves in a real fight. How fast did your first two classmates quit? Or were they expelled, killed?"
Eijiro grabbed his collar, lifting him in the air. "We're not quitters! Now what are you guys even doing here?!"
With a grin, the blond put his hand on Eijiro's. "You must think your quirks are so special, but what happens when…"
The smile vanished, turning to confusion. "This usually works." He muttered to himself.
Bakugo grinned, leaning into the trouble maker. "Hah! Having some performance issues? Should've expected the big talk to lead to small results."
"I noticed you have an empty seat." A tired looking teen with wild purple hair and eyes stepped forward. "That's good, I might take it."
"It's not up for grabs." Eijiro set the blond down, shoving him back.
"All of your seats are up for grabs." The stranger said as a matter of fact. "Some of us weren't so privileged to be able to smash a bunch of robots. But if we show that we can crush some overly confident hero students at the sports festival, they will gladly give us your places."
"Excuse me." Eraserhead's voice cut through the crowd, silencing them with his stature. "I'm trying to get back to my class. Have your little war at the festival not here."
"Wait." The teen paused looking at the man. "Are you Eraserhead?"
"Yes, now move." He stretched his arms out, pushing the students to the side to let himself, Izuku, and Kaminari through.
They were getting stares by all of the students in the hall, but more notably the purple haired one and the pompous blond.
Kaminari saw a hand stick out towards him, belonging to a smirking boy with neatly combed blond hair. "Hello, I'm Monoma Neito from the class next door. Who might you be?"
Not knowing what transpired earlier, Kaminari just shook the boy's hand with excitement. "Hey! I'm Kaminari Denki, nice to meet you."
"Are you by chance a new student?" He looked at the electric user's hand, completely puzzled by what was happening. More specifically, what was not happening.
"Nah, I just got a new look today. Well a new everything really." He shrugged, following Eraserhead back into the room alongside Izuku.
"Hey." The purple head called out to Midoriya, who turned around curiously. "Are you in this class?"
"Oh, no. I'm from the business course doing a special assignment." Izuku then saw Eijiro right next to the door, shaking his head with a stern expression. "Sorry, a little busy now. Maybe we can talk later?"
The door to the class closed, leaving baffled students in front of the door. The tired teen left, scratching his head over what a business course student was doing working with the hero class so early. Monoma on the other hand, was thinking about the new students he saw, or more specifically, the ones that looked new. Twice he tried using his quirk but it failed, and with what Kaminari said, he was beginning to theorize about what One A might be doing.
If they found a way to get stronger, to change themselves to be immune to his quirk, then he was going to find out and even the odds.
Kaminari is mixed with Buzzshock now, how will he adjust to his willing change? How will Jiro react to it? Is Bakugo actually a decent person? Shinso and Monoma have found odd things going on with Class 1-A, what will they do to find out what happened?
Any grammar errors please point it out.

Let me know what you think about it and if you want to see more!
Planar-Walking-Entertainment:
Maybe, I'm not saying when.
Giblenator:
Sorry, Esta and Izuku don't see one another that way. Plus she's a decade older than him.
XxGargantuaxX:
The omnitrix's failsafes are fully operational so no worries there.
ProjectIceman:
To Nighteye, he has never seen anything be able to change the future he sees. He has come to terms with grim reality for him and chooses to find the best options available. Though obviously he's stuck in his own perspective to question if he can prevent what he's seen.
Han-Daewi:
The failsafes are fully functional.
SonicMax:
There's a good chance he can take away the DNA, but he's unable to restore their quirk. Her best bet at becoming like her past self is being quirkless.
The Black Latios:
No, he's not going to kill Izuku. He just saw the end of Izuku's life and believes he can't do anything to prevent it.
FamousFox:
Eventually.
Hero:
Izuku could only return a stable quirk factor, everyone else's besides Kurogiri has unstable quirk factors. Even if he could, he would probably have to take away their alien abilities as well.
Guest:
Yes, but we won't see him.
Mashot Tito:
When I was writing him waking up, I immediately thought of how he probably would prefer to be in a sleeping bag like you said. Now that you mention Miss Joke, I have to write in her reaction at some point soon.
Part of why Inko was focusing more on Esta rather than the situation was because of how Esta would also take shots at Inko.
So far, the only person who fully believe Izuku's reasoning on aliens is Eri. Himiko and Eijiro are still contemplating the revelation and are processing it.
Izuku has friends in class but they're not as close as his other friends in 1-A, and will be talking more with the newer hybrids about their situation.
Izuku and Ochaco will get things cleared up, guaranteed.
I might have them go in the omnitrix, but I won't write too much of it.
No plans for the movies, I've already got a bunch in mind I need to write.
Nah, no Hawaii trips planned.
He could definitely take All for One's quirk away, as for dying of old age right there no. He would remain the same maturity as his quirk was keeping him. But as for constant use of regeneration quirks those would be gone, leaving him to suffer from his injuries. Healing only happens when Izuku takes away genetic damage, or he gives them alien DNA that has regenerative abilities.
MASTERKILLER3000:
How come?
hanzohasashifan29:
Yes.
Nickiel:
Eri is a head shorter than Izuku as stated in story. It has also been a few years since they first met Eri, so she is currently about 13 years old.
LegendaryMob:
Nighteye isn't a teacher for UA, so he doesn't have the same responsibilities.
AnimeFan13579:
Since Nomu themselves are alive, the omnitrix could fix the genetic damage and alter the DNA to make them human again. So technically yes, but also no.
