Master Control

Chapter 36

"Just, hold still!" Eri struggled to put clothes on one of Izuku's kids. Rumi having none of it and was kicking the pants. "You can't keep flying around naked!"

"Why not?" Himiko asked from Eri's bed while scrolling on her phone. "I do it all the time."

"You make it look like you're wearing clothes." The younger sibling argued, giving up on the pants and settling for a skirt.

"Oh my sweet innocent sister." Himiko dramatically addressed her. "My soul is that of a wee naked babi frolicking in the woodlands. For I-HEY!"

Himiko pulled her foot away from Enji's mouth, leaving the alien child with a frozen toe to nibble on. "Now I know these are Izuku's kids. They keep trying to get into trouble."

"It's not like he tries to get into trouble." Eri defended her older brother as she picked up Enji, grabbing another one of Izuku's child shirts with holes cut in the back to put over the bluby. "It's just how his timeline is already spun around other larger events. It naturally draws in anything around it like it has a really strong gravitational pull. But it's not gravity, but it's easier to imagine it like gravity."

Giving her sister the most bewildered look, Himiko just accepted the fact that she didn't have the attention span to study like her siblings did. "Whatever. He still chooses to get involved in too much and keeps way too many secrets."

"It would have been easier to keep it a secret." Eri tried to explain to her less patient sister. "I mean, the fact that aliens are real and what he has, it takes a lot of convincing to prove anything he says."

The blond actually paused, taking her eyes away from her handheld distraction and stared at the wall. She couldn't deny it, she didn't believe him at first until he risked showing her everything firsthand. When she thought about it, really giving it effort, she could understand why he did the things he did.

If he didn't, who knows where she would be and whose blood she would be harvesting.

Who knows if Eri would have been helped.

Actually, she never really did know what happened to her smaller sister. It was bad yeah, but they never pried into it. It was always her secret that she never revealed.

Was it better to keep secrets and live in the moment? Or share them and have the constant worrying and risks involved?

Hm, something that would need some thought. Thoughts that she couldn't be bothered to have.

Eri's voice hitched, Himiko glancing over to the girl who was staring wide eyed towards nothing. Even the blubies who were calm began to grow agitated.

"Eri?" Himiko shoved her phone inside her chest. "Eri what's wrong?"

"I can't feel it anymore." She reached up to her horn, fingers just barely running alongside it. "Izuku's timeline, his future, I can't feel it anymore."

Well that was a horrifying thing to hear.

"WAH!" Izuku was thrown into the air, the boy's arms limbs flailing to latch onto something. That was until he landed on the ground, the air being kicked out of his lungs from the solid ground.

"Ouch." He hissed, pushing himself up as he noted the same pink light was near where he was launched from. Glancing up, he saw himself in a large technical room filled with metal red cables with golden patterns on them.

But directly in front of him, he saw three individuals standing beside a machine cobbled together.

A taller teenager, about six feet high with black hair, shirt, and a white long sleeve underneath with his hands operating the unknown device.

A girl about his height with long red hair, green eyes, wearing a white button up shirt under a dark blue sweater reaching down to her black skirt with stocking underneath.

Finally, the one in the center, the one wearing an outfit he was all too familiar with. Jeans, black t shirt, green jacket with the ten on the left side, and brown hair roughly combed around the front. Izuku was wearing the same outfit, minus the jacket he took off earlier and his shoes being red.

But he knew who wore that, he knew from the omnitrix where it got that outfit.

It belonged to the previous user of the omnitrix, Benjamin Tennyson.

"Whose this?" Benjamin asked the redhead. "I thought you were trying to get the omnitrix?"

"He must have found it first." She pointed towards Izuku's wrist, where the omnitrix rested.

"Already?"

"So what if he found it in an hour." The taller one got up, cracking his knuckles as he approached. "It's not like he knows how to use it."

"Kevin stop!" The girl stepped in front of him. "He probably doesn't know anything about it!"

"Which means he doesn't know how to take it off." Benjamin pointed out, only prompting Kevin to continue forward.

"W-wait!" Izuku quickly flipped over onto his rear, holding out his hands. "I don't want any trouble!"

"Then let us take back the watch." Kevin stopped just in front of Izuku, touching the metal of the ground and absorbing it. Izuku watched in fascination as the arm became the same material as the ground. Or was it coated in the same metal?

Nevermind that they were trying to take the omnitrix!

"I'm sorry." Izuku didn't take his eyes away from the shining fist inches from his face. "But I can't give you it."

"Ok." The boy shrugged. "I don't mind taking it."

"Kevin no!" The redhead called out, the boy already gripping Izuku by the shirt and slamming him against the wall.

Izuku's mind ran a mile per minute, seeing just how serious this guy was. He didn't know where he was, or what was happening, but he needed to defend himself with something strong and durable. Almost on instinct, Izuku quickly dialed the omnitrix and slapped it back down.

Kevin flinched back, Izuku covered in a brilliant emerald light to reveal a much taller form covered in black and dark crimson metal. The most notable feature, was his head resembling a squid with clear sacks along the side of his face, dark lips that met with lines wrapping around his head, and two beady green eyes resting on his face.

His appearance shocked the group, his stature resembling a well known warlord.

"Vilgax?!" Ben jumped back before seeing the omnitrix dial on the chest. "He has a Vilgax form?!"

"Actually." Izuku spoke in his rumbling dark tone. "This is a Chimera Sui Generis."

"So, you actually do know how to use it." Kevin grinned, absorbing even more metal to cover himself. "Now I don't have a reason to hold back."

"Kevin wait!" The redhead uselessly tried to reason with him, before Kevin charged the fifteen foot alien.

Oh crap he was in a fight, a real fight! He'd never fought anyone for real before! Not consciously at least.

Izuku held up his shaky fists, the boy that wasn't even half his height jumping up at him. Sending out a jab, Izuku's fist crashed into Kevin's body, throwing him back until his body slammed into the wall and trapping him in it.

Needing to end the fight before it could get worse, the girl sent out a brilliant pink whip out of her hands, wrapping around Izuku's form to restrain him.

Wow, her quirk was a lot like Kendo's. Wait this was still a fight!

Pushing out from the restraints, Izuku found himself actually breaking free from them. Holy crap this 'Vilgax' form was strong!

"A little help Ben!" She called out to the boy, who instinctively went for his wrist but slapped nothing but skin.

"No omnitrix, remember?"

Izuku shattered the energy that was binding him, about to throw out a fist towards this person but worrying he might hurt someone without enhanced durability. His worries were put at ease when she erected a barrier, so he put more strength into the hit.

*CRASH*

His fist shattered the shield, plowing into her body and sending her rolling across the floor.

"Gwen!" Ben called out, before grabbing a piece of metal and rushing Izuku with a war cry.

Izuku grabbed him, able to wrap his palm around Ben as he tried to force his way out.

"Listen, can't we just-"

Ben stabbed the metal into Izuku's hand, making him let go.

"Ow!" Izuku recoiled, but upon inspection he saw there was no blood. "Huh, guess this guys tougher than I thought."

"If you want to live you'll give up the omnitrix!" Ben challenged from below, Izuku shocked at the sudden threat of his life.

"You'll kill me?"

"No, but if we don't stop this invasion the highbreed will kill everyone! I know you just got the watch, and it makes you feel like you can take on anything, but I've had years of experience with it so please give it back and I can stop the universe from being destroyed!"

Izuku remembered, the transmission from before, Paradox's words, there was an invasion happening.

And he was pulled right into it.

In a brief flash, Izuku changed back to his human self, able to talk with Ben eye to eye. "That's right, Paradox told me about what was happening here."

That particular name made Ben pause. "Wait, Professor Paradox gave you the omnitrix?"

"Yeah, when I was ten years old."

"Fat chance." Kevin spoke from the back, being helped up by Gwen. "He just took the watch an hour ago."

"It's true!" Izuku argued, pulling up the data log which none of them knew existed. "Look, I've been using the omnitrix since I was ten. Professor Paradox said that time moved differently between our universes, and that a minute could be-"

Weeks, being here for a minute could be weeks. If he stayed for even ten minutes, that could be a year. Every second he was here, was almost a day back home.

How long had he been here already? How much longer until he could get back?

Would his family still be alive by the time he returned?

"We're sorry we took you from your home." Gwen came forward, showing compassion on behalf of the group. "We didn't mean to bring you here, we just needed to get the omnitrix in order to have some hope of saving our universe. Please understand."

"Like he could." Kevin argued in an upset tone. "He's probably had a cushy life with the omnitrix with no real threats to worry about, unlike here."

"We don't know that." Ben admitted, defending Izuku's position with more clarity. "Who knows what's in his universe. I don't think Paradox would have placed the omnitrix somewhere it wouldn't be used."

"Which is what I feared." An aged voice spoke from below, everyone looking down to notice the small gray alien dressed in robes. "Paradox should have brought the omnitrix somewhere it would be safe, like we agreed on."

"Who are you?" Izuku asked, kneeling down to talk to the alien.

"I am Azmuth, the-"

"Creator of the omnitrix!" Izuku almost exploded in place. "It's an honor to meet you! I've wanted to meet you for so long to ask you about the omnitrix!"

"Where have you been?" Ben asked the smartest being in the universe. "I thought you abandoned us."

"I was locating a communications module to disable to possibly prevent the Highbreed council from issuing the order to destroy the Earth!" The ever annoyed man yelled up at Ben. "Of course, it was a small chance at buying some time. I doubt the Highbreed aboard the warships would even wait to be given the direct order, or worse, immediately fire on the planet."

"So there's no way to disrupt their chain of command?" Gwen asked, the dread starting to spread between the group.

"Not without drastic action." Azmuth answered as fact.

"Well, we have the omnitrix." Kevin grabbed Izuku's wrist, holding up the device. "Let's get it off this kid and give it back to Ben so he can kick them into surrendering."

"Even if you were to momentarily defeat their councilors." Azmuth stroked his, beard? Whatever those dangling parts around his chin were. "It would at best temporarily halt their plans, or provoke the warships to begin firing."

"Then I have to do it." Gwen stated, staring at her own human hand. "I have to-"

"No." Keving grabbed it, looking her in the eye. "I told you, it's not worth it."

"Saving the Earth, saving everyone I love?!" Gwen yelled back.

"No sacrifices." Ben said, finishing the argument. "We're going to win this, as soon as I get the omnitrix back."

Izuku was really starting to feel ignored here. The silent teen just watching them all talk about a lot of things he felt he knew very little of.

"You." Azmuth pointed at Izuku, the boy suddenly wishing the attention was off him. "Show me the omnitrix."

Not feeling it was in his place to defy the creator, Izuku held down the device towards him.

"Access history archives." Azmuth stated.

"Accessing Omnitrix usage data."

A holographic screen was displayed before the man, Azmuth looking over each detail with a keen eye. "Looks like Paradox didn't disable the master control like he should have, and I can't imagine how you have gone almost six years without transforming despite having…you locked the transformation function?!"

"W-well."

"Hold on." Kevin came over, joining their discussion. "You went five years without turning into an alien?"

"And he still kicked your butt." Ben teased.

"What have you been using the omnitrix for?" Gwen asked Izuku, the boy about to answer but Azmuth cut him off.

"You've been using this as a vehicle!" Azmuth noted, looking over all the uses of teleportaton. "Not to mention your personal wardrobe and storage."

Izuku felt really embarrassed now that he was seeing how many times on average he used those features.

"Wait." Ben looked over to the creator. "You mean it has a teleporter?"

"Yes, but it was only designed in case I needed to summon it!"

"You could have brought it back?" Kevin asked as he folded his arms.

"It's too dangerous for the omnitrix to be here anyways!" Azmuth yelled back at the group, who would never listen to him. "I told you not to bring it back."

"We need it to save the universe!" Ben yelled back.

"You need it to punch anyone who disagrees!" Azmuth argued back, then pointed his finger towards Izuku. "And you just use the most powerful device to….what is this?"

Izuku saw the section Azmuth highlighted, enhancing the details as he looked over multiple occasions of use.

Izuku saw the timestamp, the USJ incident.

"This is a unique specimen." Azmuth hummed as he looked over the DNA scanned. "You also activated its defenses on multiple occasions, modified the DNA of humans with alarming anomalies, spliced them with other specimens in the omnitrix, and corrected the genetic damage of someone?"

For the first time, Azmuth actually took a second to look over Izuku. A boy who didn't seem to harbor any ill will towards any of them. "It's obvious you were in some kind of danger, but why didn't you unlock the transformation feature, or teleport away?"

Izuku's guilt almost silenced him. If he was aware, he could have done so much. He was so busy at first making sure no one knew about the omnitrix, but things got worse, and he was forced to take away the quirks of three good people. "I didn't know I could turn into aliens for a while, and I couldn't leave my friends behind….They got hurt, and all I could do to save them was to take away their quirks, somethings that made them so special, and replace it with alien DNA so they could survive their injuries."

"Hmmm." Azmuth stared at Izuku, examining the boy's expression as he saw a face full of remorse. "Tell me, how many know about the omnitrix?"

"I'm not sure, for years I never told anyone about the truth of it. Some people knew it was special, but until just around a month ago nobody knew it was alien."

"So you kept it safe, keeping a secret until circumstance forced your hand to use the omnitrix to heal others with these 'quirks'."

It wasn't exactly right, but it was close enough for Izuku to nod.

"Interesting." The creator hummed as he reviewed back over critical moments in the omnitrix's history in a new light. "Once again, I am surprised to see just how the omnitrix can be used outside of my design. Perhaps this time closer to the original goal I envisioned."

"Um, Azmuth." Ben stepped forward beside Izuku. "Are you going to take the omnitrix away from, I'm sorry what's your name?"

"Izuku Midoriya."

"No." The man instantly answered, gazing back up at Izuku's widened eyes. "At the moment, I don't think I will."

"Hold on." Kevin interrupted. "If Izuku here only just learned he could fight with the omnitrix, how exactly do you think we stand a chance at stopping the highbreed invasion?"

"I never designed the omnitrix for combat." Azmuth reminded the rude teen. "Just because one of you was hyped up on flashy heroics, doesn't mean it's the best use of my creation."

Even though Ben looked guilty, Izuku decided not to announce his own obsessions in case he made the creator change his mind.

"Well." Gwen stepped forward, holding out her hand to Izuku. "Welcome to the team Midoriya, I'm Gwen Tennyson."

"Why are you calling him by his last name?" Ben questioned his cousin. "It's weirdly formal."

"That's just Gwen." Kevin retorted.

"He's obviously Japanese." Gwen informed the two less studious ones. "It's impolite for us to start off on a first name basis."

"I don't mind." Izuku shook her hand, before glancing to the others. "If it's easier for you guys to call me Izuku, you can."

"Well then." Ben was next to shake his hand. "Ben Tennyson, you can just call me Ben."

"Kevin." The taller one didn't bother with a proper greeting. "If you're going to use the omnitrix instead of Ben, you better not screw this up."

"Trust me." Izuku glanced towards the omnitrix. "I'll do my best."

"I expect nothing less." Azmuth climbed up to the boy's shoulder. "Otherwise we're all dead."

As much as Izuku wanted to return home, there was an entire universe in trouble. Sorry everyone, he might not make it back anytime soon.

"So what do we need to do?" Izuku asked the others, hoping they already have some kind of a plan.

"We have some ideas" Kevin shared as he began to go through their list. "Our main one was to go straight to the Highbreed Council and force them to surrender. If not, then we might be able to sabotage their gateway from this side to create a vacuum to pull the warships back through."

"Which must I remind you." Azmuth stated. "Will be heavily guarded and more unlikely than your first excuse for a plan."

"If it really comes down to it." Gwen sighed as she hated to think of the idea. "We were going to try and have Ship get us onboard one of their warships and try to ram it into the gate."

"So." Ben looked towards the new user of the omnitrix. "Can you think of a new plan?"

Izuku was bombarded by partial information. There was a gate, warships, and a Council center. He wasn't sure how all of those things fit or which needed top priority. For now though, he needed one question answered.

"Where are we?"

"On the Highbreed homseworld." Azmuth answered. "Arguably more dangerous given how we have no allies on this side of the jumpgate."

"We also broke out of a prison." Ben added on. "So they're actively looking for us."

"So first, we need a way to get around without being captured?" Izuku asked for clarification.

"Unless you have a cloaking projector on you." Kevin pointed out. "We're not getting anywhere without causing some noise."

"Unless…." Izuku held up the omnitrix, scrolling through the various options available.

Within the halls of the fortified structure, a tall white being with no distinguishable face was shoving along the alien fighting trio. A Highbreed, with Ben, Gwen, and Kevin as its prisoners.

"Halt!" They stopped when a gargled voice called out, the alien turning to see where it came from.

"What are you doing with these vermin?" Another Highbreed approached, skeptically looking over the group of humans.

"These are the high priority prisoners." The other answered, grabbing Kevin by the back of his shirt and wiggling him around. "I am bringing them to a more secure chamber to hold them in, given how they already escaped the first."

"Put me down you ugly freak!" Kevin yelled from his position, being shaken a couple times to shut him up.

"Don't bother." The fellow Highbreed answered. "The destruction of their planet will commence soon. Dispose of them."

"Understood." Setting Kevin down, the Highbreed shoved the humans forward to get them moving.

"I can't believe that worked." Ben whispered.

"Ugh." Kevin rubbed his back. "You didn't have to be so rough."

"Sorry." The 'Highbreed' apologized. "Azmuth said it would be more convincing if I did."

"And I was right." The much smaller one poked out from behind the Highbreed's head. "Be more fortunate that I was here to set the omnitrix's position to somewhere less noticeable."

Izuku glanced down towards the omnitrix, that was still present on his wrist, just with Gwen walking right in front of it to keep it concealed.

They arrived to a crossroads in the hall, Izuku glancing which way they could go.

"To the left." Azmuth answered the unspoken question. "I'll admit, I'm still not confident in these new plans."

"At least they're more thought out." Gwen reminded them. "This way, we can take their Council by surprise and maybe have Izuku convince them that there's already an invasion force on their way to their homeworld getting to summon their ships back."

"Which we can the sabotage the gateway." Ben finished, feeling this plan was just a way to heavily delay the Highbreed but not solving the issue. "I hope the rest of the universe can gather enough strength to fight back by the time the Highbreed are ready to invade again."

"Unlikely with Galvan Prime gone." Azmuth answered. "Even with our odds being as low as they are, they're at least a little higher."

"If this plan doesn't work." Izuku began to formulate more details for the backup. "We might be able to take over their Council and I could do a more complete scan of one of their leaders. Then I could issue the order."

"It's better than nothing." Kevin sighed in defeat, wishing he didn't have to play the part of a powerless victim in this.

Izuku continued to walk steadily with the group, counting the seconds as they passed and imagining how long it would be until he returned. It was almost approaching a year, he would have to repeat a grade. Even with the comfort that the interstellar threat wouldn't find the omnitrix, would he find out who knew about it, or destroy the Earth if he didn't?

Would he have a world to go back to, and was he really saving this one?

All he was doing was delaying the possible inevitable. A direct fight seemed out of the question, but how else could they really solve the problem?

Actually, what was the problem here?

"Azmuth." Izuku spoke to the small passenger on his shoulder. "Why exactly are the Highbreed destroying Earth? Is there some resource their after?"

"If it were only that simple." The creator shook his head. "No, the Highbreed believe themselves to be the only species worth living. But, generations of the idea of racial purity brought inbreeding, disease, and sterility. This is the last generation of the Highbreed, and they will take the universe down with them."

"Seriously?" Ben stopped walking, his own idea piecing itself together. "Then, couldn't the omnitrix cure them?"

"That might not stop them." Gwen told her cousin. "They could be angered and still take it out on the universe."

"Or take themselves out." Kevin added hopefully, but that sounded too grim for Izuku.

"Either way the universe is still in danger." Azmuth announced. "If curing them were simple enough to convince them, I wouldn't have sent the omnitrix away in the first place to revive the lost species."

Revive lost species? Could he bring back the Kraaho?

"It can do that?" Izuku asked the mind being the watch, the alien nodding yes.

"Even with the master control unlocked, you still know hardly anything about the omnitrix do you?"

"See!" Ben seemed to laugh at that. "I told you that thing needed a manual."

"That would have been nice." Izuku agreed, the creator starting to question if he actually should have composed some basic information together for using the omnitrix.

"Perhaps, for the next model." He mused.

"Wait." Ben looked up in hope at the creator. "You mean you're going to make another one?"

"Well look at that." Kevin cracked a smile. "Looks like he actually believes we have a future now."

"Guys, hold up!" Gwen stopped the group. "Someone's coming."

Assuming their positions, Gwen made sure she was right in front of Izuku's wrist while the humans held their hands behind their heads. With Azmuth retreating behind his head, Izuku did his best to appear as someone who believed himself to be genetically superior.

But, they didn't expect the next Highbreed they saw cautiously stick their head around the corner first, locking its sights onto Ben.

It snapped up to a straight posture, slowly approaching with one arm behind its back. Its behavior was unusual, approaching with an odd amount of caution. But, around the elbow Ben recognized some of the green roots running along its arm.

"Reiny?"

"Get down Ben Ben Tennyson!" The Highbreed yelled, throwing its hand forward and shooting needles towards Izuku.

"Gah!" Izuku held his arm up, feeling the pricks against his skin. Distracted by the attack, the hybrid Highbreed lunged towards Izuku, tackling him to the ground.

"Looks like we're doing this the loud way!" Kevin absorbed the floor, rushing in to jab the attacking Highbreed.

Izuku and Reiny struggled with one another, the hybrid being more ferocious and slamming its fists into Izuku.

Gwen sent out restraints, attempting to pull Reiny back from harming Izuku any further.

"Stop!" Reiny yelled out. "I am an ally!"

"So am I!" Izuku yelled out, kicking the Highbreed off him.

Once Reiny was on his back, Ben rushed up to his friend. "Reiny, it's ok, he's on our side."

The Highbreed was overcome with confusion. Why would a pureblood of his own kind help Ben Ben Tennyson and his friends. That was until he saw the omnitrix present on its wrist.

"You defy the Highbreed way?" It questioned, knowing that there was no way a standard one of its species would even consider the ability to turn into a so called 'lesser species'.

"I guess." Izuku answered as he got up, Gwen releasing the restraints on Reiny. "But I'm not normally a Highbreed. I'm Izuku Midoriya, a human."

Getting up to greet the shapeshifter, Reiny allowed Izuku to pull him up. "I am Reinrassig III, seventh son of the Noble Highbreed House of Di Ralla, direct descendant of the Pure Blooded High Order of Rasecht-"

"You can just call him Reiny." Ben interrupted, the Highbreed not fully agreeing to that nickname.

"What happened to your arm?" Kevin pointed out the discolored limb.

"Didn't you listen to Ben before?" Gwen scolded the boy. "His arm was cut off, and Ben fixed it when he was Sawmpfire."

"Methanosians can help regenerate other species?" Izuku asked as he stared at the arm.

"You call them by their species?" Ben quickly got sidetracked.

Azmuth, not willing to address Ben's nicknaming for representatives of entire races in the omnitrix, instead focused on the anomaly. "Methanosians do have impressive regeneration skills and command of many forms of fauna. Given how the Highbreed share some traits, the adaptive cells of the Methanosians must have been compatible."

"Why are you here?" Gwen asked the important question to Reiny.

"After finding new reason to live after the revelations I received about the equality of life through Ben Ben Tennyson, I sought to attempt to convince my brethren of the same in hopes that there would be no more bloodshed."

"Great!" Izuku welcomed the additional help.

"You really think it will be that easy?" Kevin asked.

"It will take heavy persuading." Reiny began to expound. "I fear that it will not be in time to save many worlds, and I could be executed for my views. But the Highbreed have been isolated from interacting with other life on common ground, and have never had the chance to see any other way."

The ever optimistic Ben rubbed his chin in thought. "So, you're saying if we have some time with the Highbreed Council alone, then we could convince them to not invade the universe?"

"And maybe they'll be open to being cured." Izuku began to see a light at the end of the tunnel.

"You really think just talking to them would work?" Kevin huffed, wishing they would just follow his plans.

"We have thirty minutes at best before the attack begins." Azmuth reminded the others.

"Would that be enough?" Gwen asked their new ally, who shook his head.

"No, but it might save other worlds."

"We have to try." Determined with a new plan in mind, Ben was ready to charge straight in.

Izuku mulled it over in his mind. Time was of the essence, which they didn't have. They needed a way to isolate the Councillors, stretch out thirty minutes to as long as possible, and somehow share the experience Reiny had with them. "Azmuth?"

The smartest being in the known universe looked over towards the current wielder of the omnitrix. While there was some hope at delaying the war efforts enough to fight back, it seemed like a tiresome effort.

"Do you think a Nemuina could allow us to all share Reiny's memory in a dream?"

Alas, he still found himself in shock on how humans could imagine things he never could.

Their fleet had all but arrived to the planet, their military forces ready, and a pitiful resistance focused on the slave labor that was no longer required. There was no reason to not waste anymore time than necessary, the lesser beings must be extinguished so they may for a short time enjoy a universe of purity.

The five enlarged Highbreed with rounded frames all sat in a circle, viewing the invasion from the chamber of their homeworld, the most secure place they could make the decisions that governed their entire race.

*Crack*

Only to be interrupted by the doors of their chamber to be slammed open.

"What is the meaning of this?!" The one in the center demanded, seeing mere humans with two of their own kind. No, one of them was infected.

"My fellow Highbreed!" Reiny stepped forward with respect. "I have discovered a way for us to continue to live! We do not need to suffer any longer!"

"You are the one who is in suffering." One of the councilman announced, pointed towards the infection. "Your purity has been compromised, you are no longer worthy of life."

"Is that really how you view the rest of the universe?" Ben stepped up beside his alien friend. "We're not suffering! We can all live good lives without killing each other."

"No existence as a lesser being should even be considered life." Another enraged councilman answered. "Your lives are a plague on this universe."

"But you can be cured!" Izuku transformed back to human, his change causing them to be distraught at the appearance of a human mimicking their purity. "We have the power to make it so your species can live! All we ask is that you let us live and we can help you!"

"And how would you cure us?" One of them leaned forward, looming over their small frames. "By polluting our DNA with lesser design?"

"If given the time." Azmuth announced from Izuku's shoulder. "I could formulate a device that could revert your DNA to how it was before you damaged it beyond what it was ever meant to be like."

They actually considered the idea, the councilors discussing the possibilities between one another. Finally, they came to a decision, one that did not appease the intruders.

"Your views on what is pure could not possibly align with our own. If you were to treat us, we would be too far from the lineage that our ancestors laid out before us."

"You don't have to follow your heritage by the letter." Gwen tried to reason with them. "I had the chance to choose between living as a pure energy being or being human. Life can be so much more if you just explore it."

"Are you suggesting we mingle with you inferior beings as if we were one of you?!"

"They're not gonna listen." Kevin tried to warn, but Ben still gave them one last chance.

"None of us are better than each other. We all have strengths and weaknesses. But if we work together we can help strengthen one another and cover our flaws."

"Your flaw is merely being alive!"

"Listen to me!" Reiny stepped closer towards the council. "I thought the same, until I was stranded on a world with nothing more than a human. I was forced to rely on him to stay alive, and if I had disposed of him when I had the chance then I would have surely died."

"We would rather accept death than welcome impurity." The center one spoke with finality. "But before we perish, we will cure this universe of the disease which was spread too far."

"They won't listen." Ben finally gave up the first approach.

"We could just overthrow them." Kevin offered, Gwen smacking his stomach.

"Maybe not at first." Izuku dialed the omnitrix, a hologram of a pixie coming into view. With a short slap and a burst of light, Izuku became a small blue skinned humanoid with butterfly like wings. "But with a little more time, we might help them see what Reiny saw."

"What are you doing?!" The head councilman demanded an answer as dust began to fill their chamber. Suddenly, they all grew tired, their heads becoming light as their bodies relaxed. Soon, they fell into a deep sleep.

One where they witnessed a barren planet full of hostility.

A climate that threatened their life.

A Highbreed of pure decent, stuck with a human that could turn into other species they considered inferior.

Despite the constant attempts to rid of the human, to find a way alone, to trust in the belief that the Highbreed were the supreme race, it granted no advantage, no reward, only inevitable death.

Yet, the human continued to help, continued to defend the Highbreed despite the insults, continued to give aid when none was asked, none of it out of reward, but of kindness.

In the end, survival was not found through racial purity, it was through kindness.

What was superior? Purity, or Kindness?

The answer, lied with the one that lived.

Rushing between the old military buildings, an asian teen girl with a pink hoodie avoided the attacks of the gray squid headed aliens with rotten banana skin. With a blast from the gun in her hand, the green light enveloped the creature, turning the exterior to ash and leaving behind an unconscious human.

The fight was getting longer than she had ever ran, her endurance coming to its limit.

"Julie!" A young boy's voice came from behind some cover. A short blond boy with bad diet and hygiene waving over to her.

"Cooper!" She sprinted over to him, leaping over the fallen piece of machinery and taking more shots from behind.

"Have you seen Darkstar?" The boy asked as multiple guns hovered around him, reverting the aliens back to human.

"Not recently, why?"

"I think he ran off."

"What?!" One of their most powerful allies just ran off?! This was the fate of the whole world, the one they were all currently on!

Then again, she could understand the feeling of hopelessness building up inside. The armada was looming overhead, Ben and his friends were on the other side of the gate, and they haven't heard from them in a while. Ship hadn't returned either, her fears feeling more possible with every passing second.

"Uh, guys!" A young pyronite surfed by on a piece of flaming Earth. "What exactly is the plan now?"

"Not sure Alan." Cooper called back as the three of them tried to not be overwhelmed by the overwhelming numbers of the DNAliens.

"Just, hold on a little longer!" Julie announced, the wave coming closer and closer.

"How much longer?!"

"Oh, not much." A familiar voice came from beside them. Professor Paradox stood without a care in the world with his pocket watch, eyeing the time pass by. "It should be any moment now."

"To all Highbreed within the sound of my voice." A voice that commanded attention made the fighting pause. "The war is over! Return home so we can create a new future together!"

The fighting stopped, the DNAliens ceasing their attacks. Hesitantly, Julie relaxed as well, watching as the armada began to slowly turn around back towards the gate.

"Did we just win?!" Alan, in total disbelief but also joy watched as the ships that would have brought doom were leaving.

"Congratulations." Professor Paradox complimented the teens. "You just helped save the universe."

"Alright!" Cooper went to give Alan a high five, but stopped before he could burn his hand.

Julie, with refound hope running through her approached the scientist. "So Ben, he's alright?"

He nodded, the girl finally able to smile again. "While him and his friends are returning with Ship, I unfortunately have to go review this new timeline."

"Wait." As much as Cooper wasn't too familiar with the man, he could still tell he had knowledge of events before they happened alongside time manipulation abilities. "You mean you don't know what happens next?"

"There was interference from outside of this universe." The man began to explain. "While the current result might be similar to how it would have ended without these changes, the ripples can continue to grow until they make tidal waves. After all, without Ben using the omnitrix this time, his confidence will continue to be manageable to where he can be more satisfied with what he has knowing it can be taken away, and with how he will be receiving a new omnitrix will be less eager to tamper with it. A new chain of possibilities is opening up, and I must see to it that there are no unwanted divergents from the original outcomes."

"Wait." Julie tried to keep up. "Ben didn't use the omnitrix?"

"You can get more answers from him about what was accomplished this day." The Professor pulled a small note from his pocket, handing it to the girl. "Please give this to Midoriya when you see him. No matter how distraught he appears he needs to read this."

As soon as she accepted the small piece of paper the man had disappeared, leaving her more confused than assured things were alright.

"Yahoo!" She glanced over, seeing another group of teens with an older man approaching. The red one with four arms was whooping and hollering, a blue lizard like one and a walking porcupine both with smiles on their faces. Finally, an older face she saw in Ben's photos followed right behind them.

"Shiiiiip."

Recognizing that voice anywhere, Julie saw her favorite pet, a spaceship composed of a galvanic mechamorph slowly descend towards them. As soon as the hatch opened, she saw Ben exiting with Kevin, Gwen, Azmuth, and someone she didn't recognize.

One thing she did notice, is that this new teen was the one wearing the omnitrix, and he didn't seem so happy.

"Ben!" Julie ran forward, embracing her boyfriend in a tight hug.

"Good job sport." His grandfather came forward, placing a hand on his shoulder in pride. "If anyone could do it, you could."

"Thanks Grandpa." Ben looked at his family, his friends, happy to see them all ok. "But, I couldn't have done it without any of you."

"Oh no my ride!" Kevin ran forward, seeing the shredded remains of his prized car.

Gwen was about to come over to him, but placed a gentle hand on the new boy's arm. "We're so sorry."

He just nodded, Gwen going back over to comfort Kevin over the destruction of his hard work.

"Ben?" Julie asked her boyfriend, his winning smile greeting her. "Who's that?"

He looked over to who she was talking about, seeing the sunken face of the green haired boy watching as Ship returned to his dog like form to rush over to Julie.

"Oh." A depressing tone came over Ben's voice. "That's Izuku. He was a big help in convincing the Highbreed to stop their invasion. But, we took him from his home by accident."

"Can't we give him a ride?" Julie offered, Ben shaking his head.

"Time apparently passes differently where he's from. Even though it's only been an hour, it's been six years back where he came from."

"What?!" Julie shouted, startling all those in ear shot. "Then we need to get him home right now!"

"I'm sorry." Azmuth walked forward through the snow. "But in order to build the equipment necessary to send him back, we would need to rebuild Galvan Prime."

"Galvan Prime." Ben's grandfather hummed in deep thought. "As smart as the galvan are, that could take a while."

"A little over a week at the quickest." Azmuth detailed. "But by then, over a thousand years would have passed."

"We were hoping Professor Paradox would be here." Ben began to explain with the echo of hope.

"Sorry." Julie felt a wave of sorrow on behalf of the stranger. "But he left saying there was a lot of work for him to do."

"Then he's stuck with us then." Ben's grandfather looked over towards the boy, who stood alone watching the armada return through the gate.

Izuku was mesmerized by the sight. Hundreds of space worthy ships, all flying through a massive gateway. It was scary, but also amazing to watch how space rippled at the touch of each one. After doing so much, working so hard, and helping as many people as he could….is this what Paradox brought him to do?

Saving a universe, it was worth dying for.

But living, knowing he could never go to UA again, see his friends, his family?

That was hell, and he had to live with it, never being able to explain to them where he vanished to, or how he helped the people here. To them, he just left everyone behind. All the promises he made to stay out of trouble, to keep them in his circle of secrets, and to always come back, broken.

That's how he felt, broken.

"Excuse me."

Brushing the snow that was collecting in his hair, ignoring the chill, he saw a girl his age in a pink jacket cautiously approach.

"I'm, really sorry. I wish we could do something to make it right."

"..it's not your fault." Izuku honestly answered, not having anyone to blame. How could you blame anyone from just trying to protect the universe from being destroyed?

"I don't know if it will make it any better, but we're here for you." She motioned to Ben, his grandfather, Azmuth, and other kids he didn't know looking over to him.

"Thanks." He tried to smile, but he just didn't feel it.

Somehow his lack of tears, his lack of yelling, just his calm acceptance made Julie feel more terrible for him. "Paradox gave me this note to give to you. I don't know what it says but, here."

With enough curiosity to open it up, Izuku read the message hastily written on the paper.

Julie backed away, letting him have his privacy as Ship climbed around her neck It broke her heart to watch his shoulders shake, the boy hunched over the note as he began to cry.

"Can't we do anything?" Ben asked over to his Grandpa Max, who always seemed to have the right answer.

With a heavy sigh, the experienced man arrived at the simple fact. "We can offer him everything in the world, but it wouldn't be enough. We're all strangers to him, and right now he needs to have some time to himself."

"Where's he going to live?" Cooper asked.

"What about with us?" The red skinned four armed teen, Manny proposed.

"We just got out of the void." The walking porcupine, Pierce reminded him.

"Right now we're homeless." Helen, the blue skinned girl realized.

"I've got some old plumber friends I can reach out to about our situation." Grandpa Max informed his group of helpers. "But as for him, well, he'll need to figure out what he wants to do next."

"Until then." Ben decided with absolute resolution. "He can stay at my place. I'm sure my folks wouldn't mind. Plus, we both know what it's like to have the omnitrix."

"Maybe I should bring him with me." Azmuth proposed. "Because he wore the omnitrix when it was summoned back, it's my responsibility to make sure he's attended to."

"I don't think he'll feel like he belongs." Ben reminded the creator. "No offense, but how's he supposed to fit in anywhere but Earth?"

"Ben's right." Max agreed. "While he doesn't know any of us, the more familiar his surroundings are the easier time he'll have."

"Is anything about this easy?" Julie had to ask, a brief silence coming over them.

"No, I suppose not." Azmuth finally bowed his head, wishing there was more he could do for the boy. Unfortunately, as much effort and features he placed in the omnitrix, it couldn't bring him home.

The crunching of snow alerted them, Izuku rubbing his reddened eyes as his skin looked pale and littered in goosebumps. The paper in his grasp was wrinkled, littered with water stains as he shoved it into his pocket.

When he finally looked at them, he was smiling?

"What is it?" Ben asked for everyone.

"It's ok." Izuku emptily chuckled to himself. "It's all going to be alright."

"Of course it will." Max tried to assure the teen, who seemed to be in the first stage of depression.

"N-no, not like that." Izuku shook his head. "Paradox is giving me a vacation after everything I've done. He'll pick me up in a week and a half and bring me right back to when I left."

"Well!" Max clasped his hand on the boy's shoulder giving him a hearty shake. "That's great news!"

"Yeah!" Julie quickly jumped in. "We all deserve a vacation after this."

"That man." Azmuth became extremely annoyed. "He couldn't just tell you right away?"

"Aw yeah!" Manny grabbed Izuku, hoiting him up to the others in a show of strength. "I don't know who you are but we are gonna have a blast!"

"Manny put him down!" Helen tried to reason with him.

"What's going on?" Gwen approached with Kevin who seemed to be a little more happy.

"Izuku can go home!" Ben announced cheerfully to his friends.

"Not without spending some downtime with us!" Manny announced before putting Izuku back down. "Alright! Show us what you got?"

"How about we not tussle right now." Pierce tried to reason.

"What?" Manny held up his arms, waiting for Izuku to make a move. "It's just some friendly rough housing!"

"It's alright." Izuku played along, feeling more than happy to do something. "My sister gets like this sometimes."

"Your sister?" Manny scoffed. "You think I hit like a girl?"

Even with the annoyed looks he got from all the girls there, Izuku dialed up the omnitrix. "I'll make things fair for you."

"Fair?! I could take you on with three arms tied behind my back!"

*BWOOSH*

Izuku was replaced with a much taller, much more muscular opponent with similar features as his challenger. Glancing down at his four red hands, Izuku grinned towards Manny who realized just how screwed he might be.

"Ok, maybe two hands tied behind my back." Manny tried to sound cool, but was all to eager to call it quits when Izuku charged forward.

"Hey." Julie got Ben's attention as they watched the 'fight'. "How come he doesn't announce the name of the alien he turns into?"

"Yeah." Gwen agreed. "How come you started doing that?"

"It's to strike fear in the hearts of my enemies." Ben justified as he held his ground.

So there it was, a universe was saved and everyone was satisfied with the ending. Even with work to be done rebuilding a planet, the galvan working on a way to repair the DNA of the Highbreed with the least amount of changes, and Izuku discovering new friends on a world beyond his garden wall.

WOWEEE!

Didn't think I would get this chapter done so fast! Next one, we're going to see some slice of life and all sorts of interactions of Izuku in Ben's universe. Much needed conversations will be had, questions will be answered, and the differences and similarities all pointed out and commented on.

In other disturbing news, as I was looking up more details on Reiny to be more accurate I came across some disgusting stuff. Now, I'm aware that there are those who ship Ben and Gwen, and that plenty of smut of them exists much to my own horror.

BUT!

To find out that there are those who only ship Ben with non human like aliens, but people who have made tons of art with BEN AND REINY?! WhAt THe FUCK?! I just look up Reiny, and almost all the first results for google images is some DISGUSTING stuff going on.

I thought the overwhelming amount of incest fan work coming from Ben 10 was bad, but finding out about this rabbit hole almost made me want to abandon being a fan of Ben 10 so I would NEVER be associated with that.

But, I must remind myself that there are sickos on the internet who corrupt everything they touch, even the good stuff.

Planar-Walking-Entertainment: Gwen wasn't aware that someone was wearing the watch already, just someone was close enough to respond to it.

Chronosign: I don't think I'll do any kind of gender swapping, but having Kevin realize how similar Gwen and Ben look would be hilarious. From what I understand of canon, if an Osmosian absorbs too much power then they begin going coo coo for coco puffs.

Those are some nice names though, I especially love ET-A. Just like NRG or XLR8

morsemadison532: That's dope.

ppsspp: I don't even know if I will do any more splicing. If I do, it will be much further down the line. Like at least five to six chapters worth.

XXX777: I think it needs to be at least two syllables to sound good. Some random Ben 10 rule.

fuunu: He's aware

ElderEldrazi: While Ben is definitely a shoot first ask questions later kind of guy, in AF 1 he does seem to be very optimistic when he first meets people.

HeartGemHolder: It's alright, I find myself rereadng my stories before I write the next chapter anyways.

Stormgate: Void is certainly an accurate word for Kurogiri.

AnimeFan13579: He very well might have to get a restraining order on Hatsume.

AlexBloodMoons: Yeah, Hatsume really does have a one track mind an absolutely no personal boundaries.

Harleking31: As much as I would love to write more of the blubies, I don't want to get too side tracked from the story. Also, since it's only been an hour for 10 squad they could very well assume that the omnitrix hasn't been claimed by anyone yet.
