Master Control
Chapter 55
Life was filled with excitement at every turn. Ever since they hatched into the world, they have been exposed to several wonders, all sorts of people, and now a new nest!
Their bellies were never empty, they were never too hot nor too cold. Daddy made sure of it, taking good care of them whenever he was home.
They wished he was home more often, and they hadn't seen mommy in a while. Hopefully she was ok, there was a part of her missing the last they saw of her.
*Pst pst*
The wispy mist interrupted Rumi's sad turn of mind, the child leaning into the humid air as her father sprayed a cleaning agent along her body. This was one of the best parts of the day, when he detached their harnesses and groomed their bodies without soaking them in water.
Rumi didn't mind if it smelled odd, because it felt amazing!
Ditto stepped away, rejoining a couple of others before transforming back into the pale fleshy version of their father with freckles and curly emerald hair. He put the spray bottle down on the coffee table, taking out his phone and checking to make sure he had taken care of everything.
He was a very busy Dad. Always changing and going all over the place. Sometimes they saw him on tv helping other humans. No matter what form he took, his children could always tell it was him.
"Mooooore!" Keigo reached forward, fluttering up to the bottle to try to mist himself.
"No!" Shinji latched onto his leg, remembering the last time Keigo got a hold of the bath bottle.
"Eri!" Izuku called out to their aunty. "In case they get hungry again there should be some plasma nuggets wrapped in tin foil."
Food?
Their heads perked at the mention of food, despite having already eaten only ten minutes ago.
"Can they eat them whole?" Their aunty, who had red eyes more often than green nowadays asked from her big comfy chair that was made of ropes suspended from the ceiling.
"Yep." He slapped down his magic watch, turning into the dark swirly daddy as he checked one last thing on his phone. "I'm going off to visit Pony now. If anything happens-"
"I'll contact you right away." Eri echoed as she had heard a million times before. "Just go have fun."
He gave them all one final wave, and one final request.
"Be good today. I love you all."
"Bye bye!" Their hands waved as their father stepped through the dark cloud, disappearing from sight.
Now, the blubies were left to play, Enji being the first to discuss their next actions as always.
"He's gonna visit mom?" He trilled in a language only they could truly understand.
"I wanna visit momma!" Keigo whined. "Daddy should have taken us along!"
"Daddy is busy!" Shinji reminded them all. "Daddy deserves to play with mommy!"
"What do you think they play?" Rumi questioned, the others not too sure what humans did to play when they weren't around.
"SLAPPY!" Enji shouted before smacking Keigo over the head.
"Owwww!...Do it again!"
They suddenly felt the watchful eyes of their caretaker looking up from her drawing pad, narrowing on Enji who had a hand primed for slapping.
"Don't." She warned, Enji folding his arms and huffing a bit of cold air.
"Hey." Rumi looked around, flying over the couch and sweeping her gaze across the room. "Where's Tensei?"
With all the siblings now on alert, they began flying through the house to locate their brother.
"Tensei?" Rumi poked her head through the bathroom door.
"Tensei?" Kegio checked the top of the lighthouse, nearly blinding himself as the light passed over him.
"Tensei?" Enji checked the lower levels through the secret playhouse they technically weren't allowed in. Passing through the last thick floor, he saw the chamber holding the walking meal.
"What do you want?" P'andor spat towards the child peeking through the Vinvocci glass but not actually passing through it.
With his mouth watering, Enji greatly desired to take a bite out of the man. Just one wouldn't hurt right?
"Get away from me you disgusting spawn." P'andor growled, throwing a small blast towards the window to hopefully chase the child away.
It only made him hungrier.
"Hey!" Shinji popped down next to Enji. "I found Tensei!"
Enji followed his brother up through the ceiling, leaving P'andor alone to munch on the bare minimum of food as the walls around him fed off his passive radiation.
"I hate this place."
"Tensei!" The siblings all piled into their freezer room, where they should have checked first.
"What are you doing?" Keigo looked over Tensei's work, seeing him slowly breathing onto a large chunk of ice in a rough shape.
"I'm making a new leg for mamma!" He proclaimed proudly to them. "That way she can walk with us again, run with us, and play with us just like before!"
He held up the stump, the others in awe of his ingenuity.
"Leg!" He said in their family's tongue.
"Leeeeeeg." His siblings echoed, reaching up towards the sacred limb.
*Click*
Eri began opening up the freezer door from the otherside, a small energy field springing up in the doorway to still keep the cold inside and the warmth outside. "What are all of you doing flying around and-aaaawwww! Did you make that for Pony?
"Mamma leg!" Tensei jumped on one of the cushioned beds, holding up his creation as his siblings began flying around in circles.
"Leg!"
"Leg!"
"Mamma!"
"Leg!"
"Toesies!'
The albino girl with hair dyed green couldn't stand it, rushing off to quickly grab her phone to capture the moment.
"Guys?" Rumi stopped fluttering in excitement. "How do we get it to momma?"
Oh, oh that was a good question. They slowed their energy, some sitting and others squeezing their chins like they saw their other family members do when they were thinking.
"We fly!" Keigo rebounded back with even more energy, wings flapping wildly.
"We can't leave though." Shinji pointed out their one way window. "Our squares keep us from going too far."
"We're not wearing them though." Enji patted his bare chest, the harness lines no longer present. "Daddy took them off to spray us."
"So we can go find Momma!" Tensei fluttered over to their chest of random toys and trinkets, finding an old backpack that belonged to their daddy and shoving the leg inside. "Rumi is good at following smells!"
"I can too!" Enji whined. "I can follow her smell better than her!"
"No way!" Rumi stomped her foot in front of her much larger sibling. "I smell everything!"
"Nu uh."
"Yeah huh."
"Nuhuh/yeahhuh/nuhuh/yeahhuh/nuhuh/yeahhuh/nuhuh/yeahhuh/nuhuh/yeahhuh/nuhuh/yeahhuh/nuhuh/yeahhuh/nuhuh/yeahhuh/nuhuh/yeahhuh"
"How about a race?" Tensei proposed as he held up his bag. "I keep hold of the leg, and you guys find momma! Winner is the one who finds momma and brings me to her!"
"I call going with Enji!" Keigo fluttered over to his brother, the two ready to go.
"Eh." Rumi folded her arms, pouting as she saw who would be joining her. "I guess I'm stuck with Shinji."
The boy whimpered at the brink of tears, further making Rumi regret her choice.
"Ready!" Tensei held up the ice chunk of a leg, sparking his siblings to go down to the ground on all fours, wings primed for flying.
"Set!" Pointing it towards the window, the rest locked their eyes towards the distant outdoors.
"GO!"
They took off, Keigo and Enji blasting away with their wings while Shinji and Rumi gave themselves a push off the ground to give them part of a head start. Becoming intangible and invisible to the naked eye, they vanished through the walls and went far off into the distance.
"I'm back!" Eri came in with her phone, holding it up and ready to capture the precious moment to show their father. Yet as she looked at her screen, she only saw Tensei.
Lowering her phone down and ready to pout, she then curiously starred towards the lone toddler as to why he was holding a bag. But then she saw how despite his normally naked stature, he was missing the one thing they all should be wearing.
Their harness.
"no."
She ran over towards the living room, seeing five little technological white squares resting on the wood.
"Nooooo!"
Everyone was out, leaving her alone to watch after the missing children.
"NONONONONONO!"
Tensei curiously watched as aunty Eri was scrambling around, grabbing the little white cubes they weren't allowed to eat and rapidly scrolling through her phone.
Quickly getting bored, he elected to not just wait around while his siblings had all the fun. He'd go out and have fun by himself!
So by the time Eri returned with Tensei's harness capsule, the boy was already gone.
"NOOOOOOOO!"
Rumi was flying as quickly as she could, following the scent that she had familiarized herself with since the day she could see. Up in the clouds, the greater winds helped to carry her small body towards its destination, one that had a high concentration of her mother's smell.
The antennas on her head guided her towards a very busy building surrounded by many walls.
Those weren't a problem.
"W-waaaiiiiit!"
Her younger brother was.
Sparing a second to stop the hot trail she was on, Rumi stuck her hand out as Shinji rolled through the air until passing through her and regaining his mid-flight balance.
"Stay." She wanted all of the credit, she was doing the smelling and all he was doing was dragging her behind. "I got momma."
"I wanna see her too!" He tried to follow, Rumi again thrusting out her hands to stop him.
"No! I found her!" Wanting to waste no more time, Rumi turned intangible and flew past the heavy security measures that were currently more lax given the many residents coming and going.
UA High, where Pony had gone to hero school and exhausted herself in training to the point where traces of her smell were everywhere. Rumi ignored the crowds, ignored the shelters, and even just managed to ignore the tasty looking meals Lunch Rush was serving up in massive quantities.
Instead, she passed right into the mostly empty campus building where classrooms were starting to collect dust from the summer vacation.
Touching her feet on the bare floor, Rumi allowed herself to physically interact with the environment to more accurately track her mother. Making long strides with her wings to assist, Rumi leapt into the empty One A but saw no one.
Next, the locker rooms, where no one else was at.
Then one of the gyms! A heavy concentration of a mix of sweaty residue that no matter how good a highschool sanitized its space it could never get the smell of sweaty teenagers out.
Her antennas felt bombarded by the mix of smells, so she left the empty room and tried to find other signs of life. No longer focusing on smells, Rumi began to open up her ears to her surroundings.
"Mow"
Turning around, Rumi was instantly captivated by the softly glowing green circuits running along the black metalic feline that was eyeing her curiously. It circled around Rumi, briefly interested in her until it left her to resume its previous tasks.
And like any other toddler, Rumi found her new obsession.
"Kitty!" She ran after it with her bare feet slapping against the empty hallway tiles and grubby hands ready for snatching.
Soaring through the clouds on high, with their cold breath turning the floating mist to snow, Enji and Keigo followed the trail of smells.
Only it seemed to be going in different directions.
"Which one should we follow?" Kiego flew upside down over Enji.
"The strongest one." The largest easily decided, following the trail as he was drawn to its source. "Can't let Rumi beat us in a race."
"That's right!" Keigo zipped up higher as he twirled in the sky. "We're fast! An unstoppable team! Rumi can't beat us, no one can! Because we're the super best brothers ever!"
Once he broke through the top of the fluffy white clouds, he looked around expecting Enji to be right by his side, only he wasn't.
"Enji?" He asked out in his Earth tongue, spinning around to see if Enji was behind him. Gliding back down through the cloudline, he popped his head back out the underside. "Enji?"
Nowhere was his brother to be found, not a speck of blue in sight.
*WOOSH*
A powerful gust above blew the clouds away from Keigo's position, revealing him to the world and more importantly who had arrived to investigate.
"What are you doing all the way up here?" The beating wings of the woman above questioned.
Flipping around, Keigo looked upon a mythical beast he had only seen on the television screen.
A dragon.
It was covered in light gray scales besides its shoulders and head, and wearing a large red dress and white sleeves on its arms. Their face was fierce, but there was a head of yellow hair on its head. This was the Dragoon Hero, Ryukyu, who squinted down at Keigo, the two hovering in the sky in front of one another.
The child's similarities were too close to the Frozen Mothman, or 'BigChill' for her to ignore.
"I'm going to need you to come with me." She slowly reached up with her claws to grasp the child, only for him to phase right through it as he kept staring up at her with his big ol eyes.
Woah, big lady.
"Kid, I need you to turn off your quirk." She requested, only for Keigo to again phase through her hands.
Was she playing? Were they playing?! He loved playing! Especially keep away, where he would keep away from Enji as he tried to smack him.
As the giggling child avoided her next, slightly more impatient reach, he began flying around her as she struggled to follow the small highly maneuverable target.
"Chase chase!" Keigo demanded as he suddenly plummeted towards the cover below, the heroine immediately diving to keep up. Her larger and more experienced wings instantly let her catch up to him, but he was quick in flying around her, and could literally fly right out of her hands.
"This is Ryukyu!" She called out as she began her pursuit that was starting to get too close to the population for comfort. "I've got a, blue moth toddler flying without a guardian. I think it's the child of Frozen-I mean, BigChill."
"Understood." Her agency's communications crew replied in acknowledgment. This all used to be managed by the HPSC, and could instantly advise on appropriate action. Without them, what heroes remained had to rely on their own agencies to try and reach out to others in the area if they weren't too occupied. "I'll see what heroes are in the area and advise them on the situation. Do you want any back up?"
"I'm unofficially in the top ten, I can handle a child."
There were more people here than Shinji ever realized existed. He did best to keep out of sight, but at this rate he would never find his sister! Too many people, too many smells, too many noises, and nowhere could he see anything familiar to him.
Shyly stepping through the array of tents set up to distribute basic necessities to a mass of citizens that were temporarily without a home, Shinji nervously hid inside his wings that folded over himself like an oversized hoodie. But the more he tried to hide his face the more limited his vision became, causing the child to stumble into others.
"Hey!"
"Watch it!"
"Woah, wait, isn't that-"
"I'm walkin' here!"
They all kept yelling at him, making him hide away even more. He didn't know where he could hide, or where his family was or how to get back home.
He was lost.
"Ruuumi!" He desperately called out in his own low trill of whining, getting the attention of a few nearby.
"Ruuumiiii!" Shinji tried again, more desperate to escape as the world seemed to spin around him.
His cries became open weeping, the boy having everyone's attention now and it only made it worse.
"Oohhhh, what's wrong?" A kind voice kneeled down next to him, Shinji glancing up to see a girl with long sky blue hair looking down towards him. "Are you lost? Hungry? Where are your parents? Say don't you look like that one guy who beat up all those heroes and-"
Her rapid questioning only made him cry harder, Shinji falling into despair.
"Nejire!" Mirio came over with his ever depressed friend Amajiki. "What's-oh, what made this little guy so upset?"
"I don't know!" Nejire tried to explain herself, but the faster her words came the more the child wailed. "I just found him and he seemed lost but when I tried asking him anything he just started crying harder and-"
There! Shinji spotted that dark green patch of hair behind his blurry vision filled with tears. Running with his arms out Shinji ignored the rest of the crowd as he only focused on being back in his father's arms.
"Daaadyyy!" He screamed as he jumped on their back, but his father didn't smell right, or feel right.
"Woahaahhaa!" A girl Izuku's age with similar colored hair but razor like teeth was assaulted by the crying child who was using his ticklish appendages to investigate her. "S-stop that you're gonna make me pee!"
"What the cuss?" A boy, with a literal speech bubble for a head looked over the crying thing that had latched onto the girl's back. "Setsuna, what is that thing?!"
The girl in question detached her arms, the limbs floating as they plucked the child off her back and held it in front of them. Shinji tried to hide behind his wings and hands again, weeping in place as he was being handled by strangers.
"I don't know." Setsuna looked over him in curiosity. "Think I can keep it?"
"That is a child!" Another girl with a head covered in vines came and plucked Shinji out of her grasp and gently embraced him into a soothing hug. "We should return him to his guardian at once!"
"Wait." The two dimensional boy took a closer look. "Doesn't he look like that BigChill guy?"
"You mean Frozen Mothman?" Setsuna corrected. "Yeah, I got that too."
"He's called BigChill."
"You are way too obsessed with those new heavy mutant heroes."
"That's incredibly insensitive." The plant based quirk teen chastised. "But, if this truly is his child then it shouldn't be hard to spot him out of the crowd."
"We need eyes in the sky." Setsuna, plucking off her head was about to yeet herself into the air, but her action only made Shinji cry out in horror. "Sorry sorry!"
She swiftly put her head back on. "Let's get someone else who can fly. YO! DOUCHEBAG!"
"That's not my name!" A sleazy blond yelled back, but nevertheless responded and began his approach with Sero right next to him and a shorter brunette whose hair just came past her eyes to conceal them from the world while wearing a red skirt with white polka dots.
Monoma looked over, and immediately saw what had them interested. "Well, if it isn't the spawn of the villain-"
"Turned hero." Manga immediately corrected.
"I don't know if I trust him yet." Sero admitted as he folded his arms. "I mean, don't get me wrong I felt for him but shouldn't he have some kind of punishment?"
"I-I think we can trust him." The shortest, Komori stated as she too began to notice the weeping child being cradled. "I mean, he never went out of his way to hurt anyone even when he was experiencing some medical issues and-"
"Pardon my interruption." The gentle teen carrying Shinji reminded the group of the focus. "But we need to start looking for his parent, and since he's too scared of Setsuna's quirk we were wondering if we could enlist your assistance."
The chance to use the quirk of one a kid of the person who could take out top ten heroes? Monoma didn't hesitate to try as he poked the child's arm. While some mutation quirks didn't transfer over well, he could at least feel how his body carried the quirk.
Nothing, no response, just like too many students in One A.
"Let me see him really quick." Monoma grabbed Shinji's arm, making the child whimper as he phased out of his grip.
"Don't try to manhandle it!" Setsuna slapped the boy as she snuck an arm under Shinji to try and pick him up herself. "You gotta be slick about kids."
He became completely intangible, falling out of everyone's grasp and landing on the ground hard and hitting his head.
They all paused, the deathly silence building up as Shinji sat up and reached up to his head.
"AhhhhhAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" That was the breaking point, Shinji screaming out as an air raid siren, alerting everyone to his presence.
"Nononono!" Komori kneeled down to the kid, hands anxiously trying to find a way to calm him.
"This is your fault!" Setsuna slapped Monoma's arm. "How could you do that to a kid?!"
"MY fault?! I literally couldn't touch him!"
"You did though!"
"It was your attempts to grab him that made him fall out of-"
*CLONK*
A metal ping ricocheted off of Monoma's head and smacked into Setsuna's face.
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU IDJITS DOING?!" Bakugo came storming onto the scene, with plenty more cans at the ready.
"Do not speak of Hell so lightly!" Shiozaki immediately tried to teach the boy, who was in no mood to listen.
Bakugo was quick to place himself between the teenagers and the child, already tired and cranky from long hours of menial labor and too many instances of seeing mutant quirk discrimination. "IF YOU DON'T LEAVE THE KID ALONE I'M GONNA GIVE YOU ALL A ONE WAY TICKET TO HELL!"
All the yelling, the pain, the fear, Shinji was having the worst experience of his life and that was saying something given how his home was attacked at one point by a group of scary people. But at least his Dad was there to save him, to send him to the weird smelling guy who was practically family.
Shinji just wanted to be home with his family.
That's when he felt it, a familiar cold washing over him that had always observed him since he hatched even if he couldn't see it.
Wiping away at his eyes, he glanced behind himself to see the pale personage with the enchanting blue eye peeking out from the tear in her face. Holding up his arms to the girl, Reiko was quick to pick the child and cradle him in her arms.
"It's ok. I'll get you back home." Reiko whispered into Shinji's ear, the comfort of his guardian angel having rescued him.
For the first time since they went out, Shinji felt safe.
With arms stretched out far, the elegantly suited man cleaned up the distant tables while also serving another round of drinks to another. Thin Man, like every other hero lately, has had a lot on his plate.
With a large portion of heroes retiring, his workload increased to the point that he was doing as much work as a mid ranked hero despite still being a 'sidekick'. That wasn't including how much he would still work at the diner, where they gathered a large portion of their information used to take out villains.
Either he got a raise soon, or they hired on five more employees to help with the workload.
"There's no point anymore." Death Arms, a respected hero who was now just another citizen drank away at the front of the bar. "The people don't care for heroes who actually do their job, and villains are only getting stronger and more dangerous. They should just use a quirked military and not be afraid to use more lethal force."
"Do you really want martial law officially established?" Thin Man genuinely asked as he pulled his arms back to himself. "That could spread even more fear, leading to higher villain incidents, making an authorized military to enact instant 'justice' more on edge and willing to put down villains for even smaller incidents. I don't see anything but more death if we decide to eliminate the hero system."
"There's already plenty of death." The man slumped his head, pulling out his phone to stare at the lockscreen of the individual present on it. "At this rate, either path we go will just end up with more dead people, villains, and whoever is trying to be a hero."
"Silence." Kamui Woods, who was sitting at the other end of the bar snapped at the man. "You have no room to talk about where society should go, seeing how you already have given up on it."
This was an all too frequent argument. The establishment was a place where heroes could relax, and many recently retired would come to try and comfort themselves for their decision while others who were carrying their workload would show up as well to try and get some rest before going back out in the world again.
"Settle your disagreements outside please." Thin Man nearly begged, hoping to not have to replace half the furniture again. That's what happens when a fight breaks out between highly trained individuals who have been honing their strength and quirks for years. "There's enough trouble for us all to deal with."
"I respect you, Thin Man." The wooden hero commented with sincerity. "You could easily just stay in here, safe behind a wall of heroes and friends, but you still join us on occasion out in the real world to live up to the oath you took when you got your hero license. Unlike so many others who turn their back on the world once it got too hard for their preference."
"They turned their back on us first." The former hero clenched the bottle in his hand tightly, the glass nearly shattering in his grip. "We can't help people who won't let us help them."
Just as Thin Man feared the outcome between these two, he was suddenly stopped when he saw something crouched on top of the old jukebox. It was blue, had large green eyes, and a unique pattern to its naked skin as appendages on top of its head were brushing against the metal surface.
What caught his attention the most, was how much the small creature resembled the famous Big Chill or the infamous Frozen Mothman depending on how you viewed the pardoned mutation quirked man. No one else seemed to notice its presence yet, giving him an opportunity to bring the child out of sight before it sparks a fight.
*CRUNCH*
"Hey!" Thin Man yelled out as the child bit a chunk out of the machine, alerting everyone to its existence.
Exactly what he didn't want to happen.
Curse his slipping grasp on his self control.
"What is that?!" Someone yelled out.
"Get it out!" Another customer shouted.
"Wait a minute." Kamui Woods began to see the incredibly close resemblance in the child, approaching it with caution. "Is this unattended child, the Frozen Mothman's?"
Heroes who held a grudge against Big Chill could immediately tell where this was going. An easy excuse to throw the unwelcomed member to the hero community that was already defensive due to recent events.
"Call Might Tower." Kamui Woods informed another hero. "See if they can get Gang Orca to help locate and detain Frozen Mothman for child negligence, endangerment, and-"
"Now hold on!" A large humanoid seal in a sleek blue divers outfit got up from his table. This was Selkie, the Sea Rescue Hero who was rarely seen on land. "We're already limited on heroes as is, we shouldn't turn on each other just because of some grudges."
"This has nothing to do with mutant discrimination." A darker toned hero, Rock Lock began to argue. "Besides, the HPSC that forced Endeavor to stand down from arresting him doesn't exist anymore. As far as any of those unregistered heroes go, they should be arrested for-"
"Helping?" The sidekick of Sir Nighteye, Centipeder immediately threw his own opinion out. "All any of those recent heroes have done is help, and a whole lot better than a lot of us I hate to admit. And using the loss of the HPSC? We all know they answer to some higher authority that made them stand down in the first place."
Things were getting too heated here for comfort, and the child didn't even seem to realize the danger this place was turning into. Moving over the counter, Thin Man went over to try and sway the child from eating their source of music.
"What are you doing?" Kamui lowly stated from behind, just as Thin Man managed to pick up the child under his arms giving no resistance to his cautious touch.
"This is a lost child." The suited hero replied with simplicity. "Until we can get a hold of their guardian, I'll look after him."
"I am a registered hero." The wooden man countered. "A recognized figure of law, and-"
"Biased from getting their ass kicked by this one's Dad." Cueball's sudden arrival managed to still the storm that was brewing. Everyone present acknowledging this was the owner of the establishment they found refuge with. "Let us handle the kid."
The woman was dawned in her jacket, a pool stick resting on her shoulder and fresh for the whacking.
"Weird lady!" Enji trilled as he phased out of Thin Man's arms and floated over towards the woman, wrapping his wings around her head as he tried to smell for their mother. No, no recent scent. But maybe she had snacks on her since she always smelled like food.
Kamui Woods though, did not look over the fact that this child seemed very familiar with her. On top of her defense for the Frozen Mothman before, and how she is frequently seen with many of the unregistered heroes, there are many things that added up in his mind that did not look good for her.
Small twigs along his fingers emerged, twitching in anticipation as he made his intentions known. "Cueball, you're under arrest for aiding in unregistered hero work. Turn over the child, and surrender peacefully."
The air grew stiff, heroes retired and active deciding now which side to take.
Cueball took one last look around the place, wishing she could have kept this place together a little longer. But unfortunately, shit was about to go down.
"Alright little guy." Cueball took off her jacket, wrapping it around Enji before holding him out to Thin Man. "Things are gonna get a little spicy so stay frosty."
Kamui Woods wouldn't let her pass off the child so easily, and threw his arm with dozens of thick branches shooting out. "LACQUERED CHAIN PRISO-"
*CRACK*
Without missing a beat, a pool ball shot out one of the holes on her shoulder which she smacked with her stick. It hit the man dead center in his mask, splitting it in half as he fell backwards. Cueball twirled her stick as many other patrons began getting up, all ready to fight for what they believed in.
"Announcing your moves against your opponent is stupid."
*WHOOOSH*
Another blue figure zoomed through the ceiling, flying around Enji in excitement over something.
"Another one?" Thin Man plucked the second bluebie from the air. "How many kids are the-"
*CRASH*
The ceiling exploded into splinters, a terrifying dragon woman crashing into the scene roaring. "GET OVER HERE!"
Then the fighting broke out, fists swinging and quirks blasting in every direction with the occasional righteous thwacking of a stick.
Enji and Keigo sat on the stools, watching the chaos unfold before them as they witnessed more violence than ever.
"Do you think daddy ever punches people that hard?" Keigo questioned his brother.
"I wanna punch too!" Enji stood up, until a chair passed right through his intangible torso.
"OI!" They glanced over towards a new challenger, Mirko who seemed way too eager to join in. "I'M GONNA STOMP ALL THE ANSWERS ABOUT THESE LITTLE JELLY BEANS OUT OF YA YOU ONE TRICK-"
Mirko was then grabbed by the massive hand of Mt Lady, and yeeted into the clouds.
The two boys couldn't help but stare up into the sky, her shadow overcoming them. "Woah, big lady."
Tensei kept flying, farther than he ever had before combined. There was a lot more green than he realized once he got past all the grays. The light outside also felt a lot warmer than usual, but the wind was also cooling him so it was fine. Temperature was always fine, it never bothered him but sometimes the super cold felt really cold and-
Letting out a panicked chirp, the blue child flipped the old yellow backpack towards the front to check on the leg in his possession. It was smaller, with a puddle forming in the bottom of the bag.
He quickly let out some cold breaths to help keep it frozen, and then resumed his journey towards the distant scent of family.
Or, maybe it wasn't mamma's. But it was familiar.
Hold on, there was another smell.
Pausing his flight over the the forest, Tensei could smell the distinct tang of metal. Where was it though? It was near the other smell he was following.
Flying down a little closer to the source of both, he could hear several noises from below.
"COME ON!" Pixie-Bob yelled as several dirt creations trampled forward, only to be blasted apart by a strange light. "CAN WE JUST GO ONE WEEK WITHOUT GETTING OUR ASSES HANDED TO US?!"
Tiger was thrown from the source of the attacks, tangled against one of the trees. "Mandalay! Where's our backup?!"
"Not coming." The woman kept trying on the radio, only getting static in return. "Something is jamming our signal!"
"The omnitrix." A deep voice emerged from the shadows towards the heroes. An incredibly large gray humanoid with large muscles stepped forward with a bright blaster in hand. His face slightly resembled a shark's as he scowled towards the humans. "Where is it?"
"We don't know what you're after." Mrs. Waterhose pulled a large whip of water from the nearby stream, ready to attack. "But I guarantee we don't have it."
"Liars, all of you." He raised his gun back towards the heroes. "I've tracked the signal here, and each of my drones sent to retrieve it destroyed. Now, you will be if you don't hand it over."
"Guess again ugly!" A chilling beam hit his hand, freezing the gun all the way to his wrist. From the treeline emerged a man covered in eyes everywhere but his face. "And trust me, I've got thirty eyewitnesses on myself alone to see how gross you are!"
"I don't know what an Opticoid is doing here on a backwater mutated world, but you are-"
A beeping came from his belt, the man groaning as he grabbed the small disc from his waist with his good hand. "Just a moment."
The eye man glanced back towards the other heroes as if they had an answer, but all Mrs. Waterhose did was shrug.
Clicking a button along the side, the large man listened as a warbled dark voice began to make its demands on the other side.
"Gantu. Have you found my omnitrix yet?" The voice carried a threat behind its words, one that never needed to be spoken but was always delivered.
"Not yet, but I've-"
"Do not play games with me, unless you are prepared to lose."
"I have merely run into a setback."
"Any more delays, and I will terminate our agreement."
"I'll get you your omnitrix, just have to exterminate some pests first." Gantu crushed the communicator, and prepared to do the same with the…where did they go?
The others of the team were all riding the top of a dirt wave, Eyeguy keeping his eyes peeled behind himself. Ragdoll kept stealing glances at him, appearing confused before looking back ahead.
"Come on!" Pixie-Bob whined. "Let me just bury the sucker!"
"Like you said before." Mandalay started. "We've been defeated too many times. We fall back, catch our breath, and see if we can get more help besides..sorry I don't think we caught your name."
"Um." The eye man scrambled for something to be called. "Just, Eye Guy?"
"Did you just come up with that hero name?" Tiger questioned. "I thought your group was more organized than this."
"I don't work with anyone." Eye Guy quickly corrected. "I was just, around is all."
"You can't fool us." Mrs. Waterhose pointed to the white hourglass symbol on his waist. "You're even wearing the symbol!"
"Not to mention all those other guys that have helped us recently." Mandalay added. "Is your organization keeping a hero on patrol around us? Did you suspect these things might come for whatever they're after?"
"What are they even after?"
"Who do you work for?"
"Do you get paid more than us?"
With so many questions that he couldn't answer or didn't know how to, Eye Guy was too distracted to notice the fluttering blue chasing after them until it was on him.
"GAH!" He shouted while Tensei latched onto his waist. "Getitoffgetitoffgetitoff!"
But the small child held tightly to the similar scent, antennas rubbing along the white hourglass symbol. It was similar to how Dad's watch smelled, but kind of different. It also had lots of hints of junk food with candy stuck to it.
He better taste it to make sure.
"IT'S EATING ME ALIVE!" Eye Guy yelled out in panic until the team came to a halt to help deal with it.
Tiger latched his arms around the boy and easily yanked him off, now leaving a curious Tensei staring at the most masculine Pussy Cat in existence.
"I'll be damned." Pixie-Bob came up to look into those big emerald orbs. "Frozen Mothman managed to find someone willing to have his kids."
"But what's it doing all the way out-"
*PEW*
The explosion blasted out from the center of their group, Gantu running out of the trees with a larger gun with the barrel still smoking. "Finally, now start talking before I start blasting heads, starting with this one!"
He held the edge of his massive blaster over Tensei, who could crawl inside if he wanted to. The child sat up, hearing the chunks in his bag moving around.
Not the leg!
More panicked over his prize being destroyed than having a threat looming over him, Tensei checked inside the yellow bag to be met with the gruesome horror of the ice leg now sitting in melting pieces in the bottom.
The first to come to their senses was Eye Guy, who despite being terrified of the moth child earlier could only see a little boy with a villain about to destroy his life.
No witty remarks, no attempt at banter, Eye Guy gathered as much energy into his torso and blasted it out the large eye on the front of his chest to push Gantu onto his back.
Glancing back, he could see his own mother struggling to get up, a piece of her brace sticking out from her costume and sparking at the tip.
"OH THAT IS IT!" He charged Gantu, eyes along his body shooting out freezing beams to hold his limbs in place as he leapt onto the man's chest to deliver blows personally. Each one charged with the strength and powers of his alien form, delivering haymakers that would take months for any human to heal from if they were still alive.
The target of his anger though, was incredibly strong and durable. Gantu broke one arm free from its prison and punched Eye Guy right in the center eye of his chest, making the pain even worse.
He landed next to Mrs. Waterhose, wincing in pain as he forced himself to get on a knee.
A small trill broke his attention, as he saw the little blue moth child cautiously walking up to the two of them while staring at Mrs. Waterhose's brace.
"Eye Man, or Guy." The heroine grabbed onto the alien's arm. "Take the kid, and just get out of here."
"No way! I'm not leaving any of you here with that ugly son of a-"
"Please!" She squeezed a little tighter. "I'm a mother, and if anything were to happen to my boy I couldn't live with myself."
"I can barely live with myself after what happened to you!" Eye Guy shouted back, making the woman confused. A few of his eyes returning to the approaching menace whose footsteps announced his arrival.
"I would applaud your bravery if it wasn't overshadowed by your stupidity." Gantu charged his weapon, pointing it right at the three of them. "Surender the omnitrix, or die."
Eye Guy, in his bruised and agitated self slapped his hand across his face. "Uh, news flash. We don't have it!"
*BEEP BOOP BOO BWOOOSH*
In an abrupt alarm of red energy, the alien hero was replaced by someone the heroes were shocked to see, but none more than his own mother.
"Kota?!" With refound strength only a mother could have, Mrs. Waterhose pushed through the dead weight of her brace with hernear useless legs and braced herself up.
"Now?!" Kota yelled at his useless watch. "You crap out on me now of all times?!"
The Wild Wild Pussy Cats, despite their repeatedly bruised egos and soar bodies were mixed with shock and anxiety. How he turned into a mutant hero, how there was always one around watching after them, Ragdoll's doubts about her quirk's accuracy about Kota's whereabouts, and what has been bringing so much attention to their wilderness retreat.
"The omnitrix." Gantu scowled down towards the boy as he plucked him up by the arm. "In the hands of a child?!"
"GET AWAY FROM HIM!" The mother pulled water from the nearby trees, creating spears to stab against his thick hide as he turned his back to shield himself from the attack.
"Experiment six two five!" Gantu reported as he began to blast away ferocious constructs of dirt that were being created faster than he could keep track of. "Activate the teleport pod now!"
Then they were gone, Mrs. Waterhose's child was taken right in front of her.
With the intense revelation given, and the fear of never seeing Kota again spreading between the heroes, none of them noticed the other child that had disappeared with them.
Hey folks! I know it's been a minute since I've posted a new chapter. To be honest, this one has been one I've been adding onto here and there for the past couple of weeks and it's hit a point where I decided to split it into two chapters.
I've enjoyed my break, getting 100% completion on not just Hogwarts Legacy, but Atomic Heart and Fallout 3 including DLC content. I'm feeling energized and ready to wrestle with this story until I finally finish it. But I will also be giving some time to finally trying to get through Fallout NV.
I don't know what it is about that game, but I always struggled to get into it. Which is weird, because I love the stories I've read about the plots, I lived in Vegas so I'm familiar with the setting, the characters seem cool, it was my first fallout game I tried, and the idea of mixing it with cowboys sounds awesome. But I could never get into it for some reason. This time, I'm taking the 'do the DLCs first' approach that way when I start doing the main storyline I'm loaded up with all sorts of cool gear and experience.
Kota's secret is out to his family, alongside revealing another alien he has, Eye Guy. We'll see more of Eri trying to track down the blubies while also not causing a panic, and how Cueball is handling taking on the strongest heroes with nothing but sticks and stones.
No, Vilgax is not in this story.

Credit for helping me make this story goes to Animeguy1101
Chronosign: It's kind of similar to Albedo's situation, but won't be an evil doppelganger sort of thing.
AnimeFan13579: Jumba is more of a Myaxx situation rather than the actual creator. As mentioned he only made one part of what Azmuth used in creating the omnitrix. Plus, they're not even sure the omnitrix of this universe is on Earth yet, only that it exists.
XXX777: Izuku is only aware of another omnitrix existing, not who has it or where it is.
Helios61: It's very tempting to do the same here, since that's the kind of ending I like.
Thunder Dragon: She didn't figure out he was the alien heroes until the end of this chapter.
They will meet, but not yet.
I don't really plan on showcasing Izuku turning into a bunch of the experiment aliens, but maybe him acknowledging that he has them in his alien list now.
I don't know if I'll involve secret saturday content or not.
As for your 'challenge', I have no firm knowledge, nor interest in the Dragon Ball franchise or the Gold Digger Comics. So the odds of me writing a fic of that is pretty much nonexistent. Maybe find a writer who does enjoy those franchises.
The Questioner: Someone pointed it out so I thought it would be fun to throw it in. It will take a while though to see if she grows a new leg from it.
Mashot Tito: I-island happens after the final exam, and before the summer training camp. While it wasn't placed in the original timeline in the manga, later down the road they did reference to the events there.
Guest: He'll definitely start looking into it, but he isn't even aware if it's on Earth yet or not.
Bearticguy7: Hmmm, maybe we can have a scene like that.
Omnitrickery: That's just what Jumba accused Azmuth of being, just like many other of his helpers or assistants.
Part of how I'm able to post so fast is that I don't do edits often, so everyone is pretty much reading my first drafts.
david arturo farfan soto 1998: That is a harder question to answer, given how if the omnitrix can identify infertility errors it could easily fix many genetic defects or even weaknesses. Who knows, maybe it could even fix genetic traits inherited like some cases of obesity.
Gir240: People get really weird with kids stuff like Lilo and Stitch, Powerpuff Girls, and other child focused stories. Sometimes I wish I never discovered the internet.
Whywouldidothat2230: Izuku was definitely the opposite of original Ben, and having Kota carry similar traits to what makes Ben prime stand out in his ten year old self will create an amazing moment when the two finally meet. At least, that's the plan.
BlackSunV: I can see why some would think Feedback is stronger than Alien X because of the final episode of omniverse, but I think that was just because Feedback was the forefront alien of Omniverse and since the show was ending they wanted to have their iconic alien be the finishing one for it all.
GoldQuartz: As stated previously, I have no desire nor intent to involve any Ben 10 content that was not featured in the main show timeline, aka Ben Prime. But punishing him by turning the man into a full human would fit in the story, but writing Alien X into a story is difficult given how OP it is.
