Master Control
Chapter 57
A city, left in ruins and darkness.
A tower, left shattered across the land.
A time, almost forgotten.
Izuku sat up in his bed, in his own room. That's right, he has his own room now. One not covered in layers of ice and snow with little feet kicking at his head.
Though many nights he still found himself sleeping in his children's room, or one of them found their way into his.
Not tonight, tonight he was alone to think. Memories of a time that almost was, and a time that had passed.
Both the memories were so similar, blurring together until he could hardly remember what was different about them. The only comforting fact, is that they avoided a worse case scenario.
Many people were back in new homes, some temporary and some permanent. Crime was still hard but All Might tower was quickly becoming a symbol of all heroic activity, taking control and fighting against the chaos. Stores were starting to open back up, the government and society finding a stable line it can work up from.
Things, were getting better.
He even managed to have a decent sleep schedule now. Yet when he found peace he kept reflecting back, trying to find out what he could have done better and what he could do now to secure a better future.
"AN ALARM IS HERE!" His phone went off, timed with the automatic lights in his room to slowly start to brighten.
"Lights full." Swinging his bed out from the blankets Izuku winced at the sudden assault on his eyes. His mind had already been awake for the last hour but that didn't mean the rest of him was yet. Quickly finding his routine, Izuku mentally switched out his pajamas for a simple workout shirt and pants, got to the bathroom to do a quick brush of his drink and put some deodorant on, and check over his messages and emails to see if there was anything left for him to do today.
Nothing, just like it was yesterday. Not even a scheduled patrol. Without other of the heroes that were in on the secret having time, he wasn't technically allowed to go out on his own unless it was a major emergency.
Or maybe Nezu was just giving him some mandatory down time.
"Good morning." Inko arrived in the kitchen, dressed up herself and ready for the day.
"Morning." Izuku double checked the fridge to see if there was still enough ingredients left for a breakfast and a decent protein shake.
"Morning Izuku." A second voice mentioned in passing, following Inko to the front door.
"Good mor-" Turning away from the fridge, Izuku saw Naomasa, eye patch and all flipping out his collapsible cane. "I didn't realize you were here."
The man tried to brush off the guilt in his messed up hair, but Inko was quick to change the subject.
"We're going out for breakfast. Then we'll be over at UA helping out where we can. Feel free to join us, and if any of you need anything-"
"I have the day off, so I can handle it." Izuku quickly responded, confident in his ability to handle the home himself. Himiko and Eri were old enough to take care of themselves, and his kids didn't wake up this early. In case they did, he'd be alerted by the surveillance system in place, and he was always a teleport away.
His mother stared at him, smiling with the sorrow of his independence. She was proud of how strong he had become, how smart and resourceful with the genetic powers of a whole universe at his command. He had every reason to hide away, to keep to himself after everything he's been through. Inko would have cared for him, loving him even if the rest of the world didn't.
Instead, he made many friends and faced the rest of the world head on. Even if he didn't need her anymore, she would always love him.
"Have a good day." She offered, before moving towards the door to take her new careproject with her. Just as she opened it, she came across a large group of teens waiting just outside.
Eijiro gave a slow wave, Mina, Kyoka, Denki, and Reiko standing behind him. "Uh, hi Ms. Midoriya. Hi Mr. Tsukauchi"
"Hey everyone." Naomasa quickly scanned the crowd, seeing that all of them were wearing sweats and none of them seemed to be in any urgency. Similar to Izuku's current state. "You here for Izuku?"
"He's not busy today right?" Reiko immediately piped up, likely knowing the answer herself.
"I don't believe so." Inko stepped out and to the side with Naomasa, letting the teens inside. "You all have fun today."
"Thanks Mommadoriya!" Mina gave a short salute as she went inside first, tugging Eijiro along and leading the others into the house.
As the teens began to pack in, Izuku quickly finished his preparations.
"You ready for a prime workout?" Eijiro asked his best friend.
Denki chuckled before adding himself into the conversation. "You mean an actual workout and not him just running around beating up villains or lifting a bunch of stuff?"
"Yeah Izuku." Kyoka leaned an arm against the counter. "You've been out and about a ton lately. I wouldn't be surprised if your hero work was more than enough to count as workouts."
"I'm not a certified hero really." Izuku quickly added in a dash of flavored electrolytes into his water bottle, thoroughly shaking it up. "Just helping out."
"You kidding me?"Mina immediately pulled out her phone, showing that the hero tracker app had an entire subsection with the hourglass symbol on the tab. "You're becoming a hit! With all of your transformations everyone thinks you're a team that's holding up half of the hero work in Japan!"
"Debatable." Himiko sludged her way from her bedroom towards the kitchen. Her lazy arms drooped as she reached for some cereal.
"What do you mean debatable?" Reiko, not one for making close friends with Himiko tried to be as nice as she could.
Himiko could barely keep her eyes open, the girl just sticking her hand in the box of food and eating it from her own palm. "I'm too tired for this. Just let me have my dinner in peace."
"Dinner?" Denki asked, checking the time and seeing it was barely sunrise.
"I know what I said." Himiko then stretched her other arm towards the fridge, slurping away at a two liter soda. "Oh yeah, Kyoka. Can I put some of your songs in my videos? You've been making some rockin bops lately."
Enji echoed with high interest. "Rockin bops?"
"Rockin bops." Denki grinned, ready to embarrass Kyoka. "Dude you should hear some of her recent stuff! Her covers of Starlight and Ricochete are making the internet go crazy! She's figured out how to do some crazy stuff with her voice!"
"Really?" Izuku immediately pulled out a notebook, flipping to Kyoka's section. "Like what?"
"I came here to work out." Kyoka pinched Denki to keep him from egging the others on. "Not have you guys start going through my posts."
"It's good stuff!" Denki defended, even Himiko agreeing with him.
"Yeah, even Shoto likes your stuff and he doesn't really listen to music much at all."
"Speaking of." Reiko decided now would be the best time to bring this up. "Are we going to tell him and Bakugo about Izuku?"
"Not Shoto." The shapeshifting blonde smirked devilishly. "I love watching him struggle to figure out the truth when it's right in front of him. You should hear how he currently thinks Izuku is actually a quirk experiment to create a new quirk that will let someone give and take whatever quirks exist. Paired with a lab filled with genetically cloned and enhanced quirks, they're the ones sending the freaky nomu things out to field test their experiments."
"Ha ha." Eijiro laughed unamused. "But seriously though, should we tell them about-Izuku? You ok buddy?"
Putting on his best poker face, Izuku shifted the focus off of himself. "I'm ok, but do you think-"
"You're doing it again." Himiko, disappointed and annoyed called him out right away. "You've got your 'I've got a secret that I shouldn't say' face on."
Well that failed. "How would you know?"
"Because after everything you've finally told us and living with you for years, it's starting to become a frequent pattern."
"Holy shit." Denki glanced back towards the two siblings. "Is she right? Is Shoto right and-"
"No." Izuku honestly shut that down. "But, there's something I know that I can't share. It's not my secret to reveal. But I can say that a lot of what Shoto thinks isn't accurate."
"But it's close to something." Kyoka wondered, but then dismissed it. "Well, I won't pry. I think we have enough secrets to keep from our families as is."
"Yeah." Eijiro glanced at his crystalline hands. "Can't exactly tell my folks I've been half alien all this time."
"I think we can tell Bakugo." Reiko's sudden announcement threw off the group, mostly because they had to backtrack their memories of the conversation to realize what she meant.
"No way." Mina stopped that right away. "Trust the super explosive guy with anger issues and a terrible reputation with Izuku the most important secret centered around the person he hates?"
"Yeah." Denki agreed just as fast. "Not a good idea."
"I don't know." Kyoka was hesitant to say something different. "I mean, he could have revealed something already given he knows Izuku is the unregistered heroes."
Eijiro folded his arms, propping himself a nearby wall as he felt both sides of the argument. "I don't know if it's the best, or the worst thing either. I mean, yeah he's still got issues but he's not the same since we were kids."
Izuku, could see what Eijiro meant. He saw it firsthand, fighting him, seeing Bakugo's unwillingness to hurt his human self, and his demonstration at restraint. Bakugo can be loud and aggressive still, but he knows when to stop. "Reiko, what makes you think we can trust Bakugo?"
She never really thought about it, but after briefly remembering their conversation she came to an answer that felt, right. "I think, we can trust him because he feels obligated to help, and I think he's learning to like it."
"Being forced to be good?" Denki's humor fell flat, the boy deciding he needed to commit more time to studying memes.
"Helping." Reiko corrected. "I don't think we should shut that out."
"Huh." Mina, seeing her logic couldn't help but agree. "Yeah, I guess I'd feel kind of bad keeping him from learning how to be happy helping people."
Scoffing at the notion, Himiko rolled her eyes as she decided it was time to go to bed. "That doesn't mean he should be allowed to just forget everything he did."
"He hasn't forgotten." Izuku, was at least aware of that fact the most about Bakugo. "And if you really believed that, then why are you here?"
The girl stopped, lingering in the hallway as she recalled her own brutal, bloody, and desperate past. "I never forgot."
With Himiko leaving, some aware of what she's done and others in the dark, the teenagers quickly found themselves in an uncomfortable situation.
"Welp." Denki slapped his thighs as he motioned for the door. "Who wants to watch Eijiro beat us all in his stamina again?"
"Ah yeah man!" Eijiro, hyping up the crowd pumped his fists. "I'll outlast all of you!"
"Oh really?" Mina came over, giving a flick to his diamond skin. "Is that a promise?"
"Gross."
After starting the day off with some exercises, a morning of spending time with his kids, and going over the chores of the day, Izuku began to grow stir crazy. Normally he would default back to his notes or look up new heroes to follow and research about.
Yet lately, seeing his many alien faces pop up on the 'new hero alert' only made him feel embarrassed.
Not that he was doing anything bad, but it was different trying to look at yourself in a fanboy light. He just can't do it. So, to try and pass some time he decided to try and study more about the worlds in this universe and their life in the stars.
Luckily, aliens were more thorough in what was considered a map. It wasn't just 'this planet is here, watch out for the meteor belt over there' but instead a useful database for anyone who would plan their next destination. Atmospheric data, geographic layouts, cities, history, government, food contents, local inhabitants, fauna, animals.
Izuku could immerse himself in it all.
"Incoming Transmission."
Or he could be pulled right out of it once he got comfortable.
Izuku, currently transformed into a species that looked like a humanoid cloud wearing a blue jumper sitting on the couch tried to free himself from the pile of bluebies, and Eri, currently resting against him.
Eri grumbled as Izuku began to push her off, making her distaste in his leaving known. "You can't just turn into a Lewodan and just leave."
"Sorry." Shifting the heads of Shinji and Rumi, he found his gap to stand up. "It could be an emergency. This is Izuku, come in."
"Hello there! This is Nezu. Would you come downstairs into the command center please? There's something we wish to discuss with you."
"Doesn't sound like an emergency." His sister laid down on the couch where Izuku just was, resting her head on Enji's belly as she plopped Rumi on her stomach. "By the way, red."
"What?"
"Pick red."
Izuku could only guess she was looking into the future on something, but the fact that she told him and in passing could mean she too wasn't that serious. Maybe today was just not a serious day. Switching back to human and slipping on his gifted dark biker jacket with green trims and a ten patch along the sleeve, Izuku went over to the secure elevator in the house and descended into the base.
When the door open, he saw a sight he could never have predicted. The holo table, was covered in cards. Not holographic ones, physical cards.
Cueball sat on one side, faking a relaxed posture in her chair while holding her cards tightly to herself stared off against her single opponent, Nezu.
He just sat there, still as a stuffed animal and holding his own cards with a small crowd watching them.
"This has gone on for two hours." Agent Bubbles commented over towards Eraserhead. "What is it about
"They usually play for longer." The mummy mentioned. "It's the only time where there's a chance Nezu might lose at a game, and it's against her."
Taking a few short steps to see what exactly Nezu and Cueball were playing, he was taken aback yet again when he saw not some elaborate card game played in casinos, but instead Uno.
Cueball ran her thumb over her own cards, flicking one out until it fell right in the center of the pile. Making the blue two, into a yellow one.
But Nezu immediately played a three on top, leaving just two cards in his hand.
"Damnit." The woman cursed to herself. "Why can't you be colorblind?"
"Excuse me." Izuku called out in case they didn't notice his arrival.
"Have a seat." Nezu immediately offered, Izuku coming closer and pressing a button on the table. Behind him a stool arose, letting him rest as he was left to also spectate the potential endgame.
Cueball with just three cards left, Nezu with two. She flicked out a six to add to the yellows, and Nezu quickly responding with his own yellow five.
"Uno/Uno." They both said at the same time, Cueball narrowing her eyes to try and crack the Principal. "What tricks are you trying to pull?"
"I only strategize." Nezu responded coolly. "But this is also a game of luck, yes?"
"You're right." Cueball was in agreement, so she placed down a wild as they both echoed uno again.
Their gaze never faltered, locked in mental battle over one choice that would change the tide of the match.
Then the woman grinned, leaning back as she pointed over to Izuku. "Kid, why don't you pick?"
For just a brief second in her small movement, he could see her only card left. A green eight.
"Bold move, but useless." Nezu remarked. "You are already aware of what color you have, so what would be the point of letting someone else choose a color? Even if you make them aware of it, they can still choose something counterproductive to your own goals and cost you your win."
"Tut tut." She wagged her finger. "I play to my strengths."
"Chance, is not a strength nor a skill."
"Chances right now are one in four. I'm talking about luck." Laying her card flat on the table face down, she had no lack of confidence in her sudden choice.
Ok, he could pick green and be done with it. She'd very likely win and that would be it and finally he'd figure out why he was down here.
"Red." But he also wanted to see what Eri meant.
Nezu drew a card, playing it immediately as they both chorused Uno at the same time. It was still tied, but Cueball was all too eager to slap her green eight, right on top of the red eight. "AND THAT'S THE GAME! PAY UP YOU LITTLE MONGREL!"
Agent Bubbles was quick to start swiping the cards away, leaving Nezu to sit in silence as he had to recollect himself.
Eraserhead, was confused as he pointed out an earlier fact. "I thought you two didn't play for money."
"We didn't." Cueball went over to the mouse bear in a suit and pulled out a pen and paper. "This is for him to help pick out which heroes that trashed my place would be most compliant in a lawsuit to make them pay for the damages to my agency."
"Time is money." Nezu signed his name to the agreed upon contract. "And my time is highly valued."
No one could see the way Agent Bubbles rolled his eyes under the sunglasses. "And you used it to play Uno?"
"A means to an end." The Principal then motioned for the others to stand around the holo table. "Now, for our discussion. First of all, we have a list of candidates I wanted to run by you Midoriya."
Mostly hero names arose onto the projection, alongside their basic ID image and their latest hero data.
Three UA teachers, all of the ones he had given alien DNA or alien generated quirks. Midnight, Power Loader, and Present Mic.
Two heroes, Ingenium and Thin Man.
Four others though, were students. Mei Hatsume, Ochaco Uraraka, Mashirao Ojiro, and Momo Yaoyorozu.
"I mean, Hatsume already knows." Izuku immediately approved. "And Power Loader helped make this base so he already knows some top secret knowledge into Providence. A lot of the others I understand since I gave them part alien genetics, but Yaoyorozu and Thin Man?"
"He can be trusted." Cueball vouched for her sidekick. "Plus, I kind of owe him a decent promotion. He's really good at keeping an ear to the ground so if he is aware that aliens are a thing he can distinguish the quirk rumors versus the alien ones."
"Uraraka and Yaoyorozu are actually similar in our reasons." Eraserhead began to expound. "They both are daughters of families that have multiple company ties and have grown exponentially this summer. We've looked over their parents, and it seems like they can be great assets."
"They can also provide something we desperately need." Agent Bubbles then pulled up the respective company assets of both parties. "Funding. Providence is responsible for alien handlings, something very few in the top positions of government and military are aware of let alone are prepared for. Yet we project that to have a functional operation for the growing activity we'll need to expand, have a public presence, and have plenty of resources to carry out several missions. It is a fact that as of right now, without you our operations would be crippled and we'd be forced to shut down."
"You're also still a kid." Izuku's homeroom teacher patted his shoulder. "Yeah, a responsible one but we want to give you more time to just enjoy the life you got before you grow out of it."
Eraserhead, while agreeing had to point out the obvious. "I think that's not much of an option given the fact he's a father of five."
"So." Nezu clicked a button, all the names and faces displayed in a checklist before Izuku. "What is your decision?"
Should he really have the power to just say yes or no to who gets to join? If what they said was true, Providence needed to be a much bigger organization. He couldn't double check and approve every name that came his way, not if he wanted time to actually help and be out in the field. "I trust your judgment. I know the omnitrix is technically my secret, but aliens exist outside the watch, and galaxies are aware it exists. As much as I'd like to keep a secret identity I know if I'm going to be working with Providence more effectively then I'm going to have to get used to people knowing who I am before I know them."
Afterall, Ben was able to work with plumbers much easier because they knew who he was.
"That was a very mature decision." The Agent complimented the boy, seeing an opportunity to bring up the next subject. "One that we hoped to convince you of. To help solidify your involvement, we have been discussing having you become a licensed agent of Providence."
"Essentially." Eraserhead started. "You won't have to be with one of us to go on patrols or get involved in crimes. You'll just need to keep headquarters updated on your actions."
"Seriously?!" Izuku yelled with probably a little too much excitement. "That, that would be super helpful."
"To officially register you as an agent." The Principal switched the hologram, showing the flashy homepage of I-island's expo. "We're going to send you on a short trip to the grand I-island expo being hosted by-"
"DAVID SHIELD?!" The fanboy exploded out of Izuku, reminding everyone he still was a kid at heart. "Sorry, go on."
"Of course." Nezu went on with a brighter smile. "You will have permission to use the omnitrix, but you must not be caught using it. Your alien forms will more or less blend in with many of the heroes and open quirk usage."
"Understood." Izuku readily hyped himself up, but realized he was left unaware of many details. "Um, what exactly is my mission? And I-island has very intense security, so won't they notice if one of my aliens is walking around despite not checking in through the entrance?"
"Your mission." Cueball glanced quickly to her phone, and then moved towards one of the doors leading to the bridge. "Should you choose to accept it, is to escort one of our potential investors who is going to make our field work a whole lot easier with approval from their organization."
"And how will I get away with my alien forms?" Izuku reiterated. "Also, didn't security tighten up a lot? I'm pretty sure they canceled my ticket for winning first place in the sports festival."
"No one's going to bother questioning how or why any of your selves are around, when you've got your escort to vouch for you. He already did to get them to allow you to fly in."
Someone who has enough influence over Japan to allow Providence to act, to take attention away from his alien forms, and was already connected to Providence. Not to mention if they can vouch for him already, then that means they already know who he is?
They sounded like a politician, or a very influential business man, or just maybe it could be-
"I AM HERE"
The doors slid open, revealing All Might in his full hero attire and flexing his powerful frame.
"All Might?!" Now it made complete sense! All Might, with his personal relationship with David Shield alone could get I-island to overlook his alien forms!
"HAHAHA YES!" The man's boisterous laugh, in a non life threatening situation filled Izuku with a demon nerd. "It is good to see you again my boy! I've been keeping tabs on your activities and I would be thrilled to see if you've got what it takes to keep up with the pros!"
All Might, wants him to work side by side with the heroes! A personal invitation, to become a hero!
If his younger self were here he would be drowning in his own tears of happiness. Actually, it was taking everything he had right now not to do just that.
"Make sure to pack well." Cueball snapped him back to reality. "You'll be there for about a week."
"Already done!" Izuku threw his arm forward, the omnitrix showing a holographic display on the several items he keeps on his person.
All Might gave a hearty laugh just before nearly smacking the boy over in his 'pats'. "It's smart to pack light, but when we arrive you'll want some kind of luggage for security. Taking my private Might jet can only serve us so far."
Right! Of course! He should have something to bring just to keep him from standing out.
Wait, they get to take THE MIGHT JET!
"Don't fry yourself." Cueball began pushing his body towards a door. "You got a whole day to pack."
"Yes, ok. Wait!" Before he had to leave and go get ready, while also holding back from wearing every All Might merch he could while riding the Might Jet WITH ALL MIGHT-
-Keep it together.
"What about Todoroki, and Bakugo?" The question never really left his mind, but he never really knew what to do about it. "They, sort of know but they're also not really doing anything with what they know."
Nezu and Eraserhead seemed to have an unspoken conversation, one Izuku couldn't hear through their well practiced teaching faces.
"We'll do a more thorough mental examination." The Principal of UA promised.
"And Aoyama?"
They weren't as quick to answer that one, even if Agent Bubbles eventually said "We haven't made a decision yet."
"Alright universe champ." Cueball began to more anxiously scoot Izuku out of the door. "Why don't you make sure that your kids won't run off on their own. While you're away."
"Um ok, but they've never done that before."
"...Just to be on the safer side."
Yeah, ok. He can get behind that. Even if he can't imagine how he wouldn't be notified right away about his kids being on the loose or find out through some news.
Once Cueball ushered Izuku out of the room, All Might's face tightened as their true purpose for visiting I-island approached.. "So, you want me to tell David in full?"
"Yes." Nezu, with a click of another series of buttons displayed the corpses of the Hosu incident nomu. "With Recovery Girl's expertise no longer available, and in examination of his most recent work, I think we can hopefully identify how All for One has extrapolated some of the DNA from Aoyama, and develop countermeasures to his future creations."
The secret agent, who had spent a large portion of his career in dealing with aliens, learned there was still more secrets to be discovered. "Have we gotten confirmation on their involvement?"
Eraserhead unraveled his chest, exposing a thick manilla envelope filled with papers and random drives. Pulling it out of himself and placing it on the table, the contents were immediately projected to show their contents. Data or paper, all organized before them in a clear and concise conclusion.
"It's confirmed, Aoyama whether it's against his will or not is tied to All for One."
Boom, another chapter done.
Izuku's about to ship out to I-island, and security is tough so we're limited on who gets to come with. Aka, let's figure out who, if anyone else, is gonna come along on the adventure. Now, we already got a time arc revolving around Himiko and Eri so they're not coming. Same with Kota and Blubies since they got an arc recently too. All Might will have some part, mostly since now that they're both aware of each others' identities and stuff they should probably have a talkin to each other.
Who do you feel hasn't really gotten a moment to shine? Someone that would contribute well to I-island.
Or, we could just have a more one on one with Izuku and Melissa.
Either way, there's a main plot I got with story and such BUT there's still a good chunk I don't have planned. Which is pretty much how all my writing is. I have main points I plan out, and then when I end up typing it out I fumble around with what feels good until I get there.
So, any requests?

HeartGemHolder: Nah, I don't want to have to push this story's end too far off any longer. I also wanted to show how far this ghost freak would go to really push the point Kota wasn't in control.
Guest: If you can point out the exact part where it was confusing I can try and see what I can do to make it flow better.
Powerpufferfish: Those wings are part of her body, ever since she got the alien generated quirk.
Harleking31: Yes, those were Leroys.
Turtle fire: She's been in the loop for a while. Ever since chapter 48.
Omni-Trickery: I'm not a fan of writing someone to seem dead then bring them back. As you've already seen in this story, and probably some of my others, I'm a murderous psychopath.
Guest: As for your plot bunny thing, it was a fun little read. I don't think I'll ever bring myself to write it though. Once I get to the end of my story I have lots of others I need to put more focus towards.
Abyssdancer: PM me about it.
Trux-Killer: Yep, those were Leroys.
Santiagoabelcampos: If this story was about Kota then maybe. I've already dedicated so much to this story, and at this point I'm just trying to get through what I already have planned. I didn't want to leave any loose ends for Kota given how I only plan on having him be a part of one more arc of the story.
