Master Control
Chapter 58
*Clink*
Through the shaggy dyed jet black hair, the raggedy man swirled the large sphere of ice in his drink. The reflection against the glass only made the stitches holding his burnt skin together more prominent.
"Is everything to your liking?" The shadowy butler standing readily behind the bar asked.
Not really.
When he finally decided it was time to do something, he tracked down a movement that best aligned with his own interests. Clearly they were well funded, but other than that they seemed too casual about everything.
Did this 'League of Villains' really have what it takes to bring down the hero society?
"Those monsters." He began to turn towards the pale, lanky guy who was sitting on the couch focused on the video game on his screen. "Did your quirk make them?"
"No." Tomura quickly answered. "The Nomu were designed and created by someone else."
"Outsourced?"
"No, he's one of ours. And no his quirk isn't related to his work."
The damn guy wouldn't even turn around, just button mashing as he skipped through dialogue. Ok, they might have something going for them, but it obviously wasn't here. Forget it, this was a waste of time if they couldn't take this seriously.
"Thanks for the drink." The man stood up, taking a quick swig before looking to the door.
His motion to leave was interrupted when a phone began to ring, Tomura not pausing his game as he answered it on speaker.
"I assume you got our gift?" Tomura questioned aloud.
"Yes." A refined voice answered through the telephone. "A very generous gift, one I intend to repay in full."
"So you can deliver." Tomura's smile twitched to life on his face, just as he was entering a room in his video game that had a strange metal pod on the screen.
"Of course. Keep in mind you will still need a tissue sample to introduce to the capsule in order for them to synchronize themselves to the-"
"Give the details to our good doctor." Tomura then clicked the capsule in the game, opening it to reveal an incredibly skinny pale man hooked up to machines. "Good luck with I-island."
"Only those with limited understanding and control rely on lady luck."
The call ended, Tomura selecting a golf club as his weapon and beating the frail man to death on screen.
"Thanks for the securitrons, Mr. House."
As much as Dabi was disturbed by how off this guy was, he seemed to actually choose what this organization was doing and not just a slave to some unseen voice. He would wait, after all if he was able to get something into I-island right now it would prove his potential.
This had to be one of the greatest days of his life, a chance he had always dreamed of before but never thought within his reach. Sitting across from the number one hero, in his own private plane, Izuku was given not just a short meeting but hours of time to talk to the man he aspired to be like.
"You had a support item?!" Izuku glanced up from his fifth notebook detailing everything he was learning that no other All Might fan got the privilege of having.
"Yes I did." All Might, dressed in a more casual white v neck shirt and a nice formal brown leather jacket, was happily enjoying having a functional digestive system by consuming all sorts of foods he hadn't had the privilege of tasting in years. "Though I quickly found it was very limiting, and after two missions decided it would hold me back too much."
"What missions did you wear it on?!" The boy had to know! "I can't believe I never knew this and-"
"It was more underground work." All Might quickly assured the boy before he went on another self criticizing spiral for not knowing every part of his career.
Seriously, he's had some very enthusiastic fans before but none of them were so knowledgeable about the smallest details. Well, perhaps Sir Nighteye at one point had him beat by his knowledge of his quirk and All for One but now it was a close call. The boy had the measurements of his smile memorized for crying out loud!
"I think we've spent enough time talking about me." All Might declared as he put down his gallon sized slurpee.
"O-oh, sorry All Might." Izuku sheepishly began storing some of his notebooks away into his watch, something that finally answered where he managed to keep those on his person.
"You did nothing wrong." The man gave his winning smile. "It's wonderful that you have hobbies and interests you're so passionate about! And if I really didn't want the attention I would have gone into underground work."
The Symbol of Peace, an underground hero? "But, you brought the crime rate to a historical low by being a public figure. Alongside how powerful some of your moves can be, I can't see many fights you handle being kept from the public eye."
"It's true, I managed to do a lot of good by working out in the open." All Might glanced out the window, seeing the peaceful blue of the sky meet the ocean on a clear line on the horizon. "But, we know the worst threats tend to go unnoticed before it's too late."
Izuku conceded to that, from the more recent disasters between Itsuka's dad, P'andor, and even the Highbreed invasions worked in secrecy until their armada arrived. Even now, the world is still unaware of All for One's existence despite him making blows to society through the League of Villains.
"Yeah." Izuku agreed on a more serious note. "I guess the most dangerous ones try to keep out of sight until they're sure they can win."
"But they haven't." All Might was quick to lift his spirits back up. "And we'll make sure they never do."
Clenching his fist in equal determination, Izuku felt like with All Might's support he could take on anything. "Right!"
"Ah." The number one hero noticed their destination was coming into view. "Looks like we're almost there. I'm going to get changed into something more fitting. You should probably do the same, though your methods are faster than my own."
As the number one hero began to make his way to the back, Izuku began cycling through the options.
Well, Upgrade would work really well. But he tends to use him a lot paired with Brainstorm, Gray Matter, and Jury Rig. Yeah, better not use his more mental or tech based aliens otherwise he would get too distracted by everything around himself.
Especially Jury Rig.
Maybe Chromastone? He was seen working with All Might before, but maybe people don't want to think about that. So he should also eliminate Lantern Light, or whatever he wanted to call his energy being transformation.
So what about the ones he didn't get to use that often?
*BWOOOSH*
All Might, now finished changing into his Golden Age costume saw an unfamiliar creature sitting where young Midoriya just was. This was something he'd have to get used to he supposed. "So, what do you call this one?"
"X-L-R-8" Izuku made sure to pronounce it clearly for the man.
"Aha! Clever, but the name only works in English right?"
Huh, good point. Luckily there's enough English influence in Japan where he could get away with it. I-island though, was mostly English speaking.
"Also." All Might continued. "While you are allowed to use your omnitrix to transform discreetly, we need to check Izuku Midoriya in through security."
Right, he got carried away.
*BWOOSH*
Switching back into his human form, Izuku made sure there wasn't any dirt or stray lint on his jacket and shirt before looking back up to All Might. "Of course, I'm ready!"
All Might didn't really need an escort, so his mission must be more focused on convincing him that he was competent enough to handle being an Agent of Providence. Their goal, get David Shield to grant an alliance between I-island and Providence.
The jet slightly shook, Izuku glancing out to see that they had hit the short runway on the floating metal city. Already he could spot people awaiting with cameras just around the corner beyond the security checkpoint. Guess word got out All Might would be attending the expo.
Wait, does that mean everyone would see him, and All Might, together in his private plane?!
"Come my boy." All Might gestured towards the door. "The Expo awaits us!"
Was it too late to try and apply to be his sidekick?
Taking the first few steps off the luxury plane, the teen took in a breathe of the fresh salty air around the area.
After being on a private plane that was well beyond their budget, let alone dreams, it was more relieving to try and filter into the crowd of casual tourists here for an expo.
"Our bags will be delivered to our rooms in our vacation home." Momo approached Ochaco, the private servants already unloading her many belongings. "My parents are heading straight to the main tower for business, but we are free to do whatever we wish for now."
Private servants, their own vacation home on I-island, an automated private jet that had its own bedrooms with a fully staffed kitchen, entertainment center, and a jacuzzi?! Why would anyone need all of that just for a once a year trip?!
Damn rich people.
Still, at least Momo was nice and not trying to show off her ridiculous wealth. Plus who could turn down a free trip to I-island?
"Um, ok." Still stunned over the last few hours, Ochaco did her best to shake off the memories of living off of cheap microwave ramen packets. "So what do you want to do first?"
"Well, I will say my appetite is starting to rise now that we're off the plane. Perhaps we can stop by one of my favorite restaurants here. They have some exquisite bluefin tuna there."
"Cool! I've never tried it before." Ochaco double checked her wallet, counting how much money she had to spend here. Her parents have gotten lots of work recently and overall enlarging their business, so they had some more money to let her spend. "By the way, how much is it?"
"Oh the meals there are only over a million yen. Usually I tip them a few extra while we're-are you ok?! You're looking really pale!"
Ochaco couldn't help it, her heart nearly stopping as she was left stunned by how much a single meal could cost. What did they do to it, infuse it with gold?! "L-let's see what food stands they have open around the expo."
"That sounds fun!" Momo seemed eager to try them out. "I've never tried any of the food there before. I hope they don't increase the prices around them too much. I only have five billion yen to spend on this trip."
FIVE BILLION?! Ochaco would be lucky to make a fraction of that much in her whole life!
These damn rich people.
"HAHAHA!" All Might gave a hearty laugh as he waved to his many, many fans. "Sorry citizens, but duty calls!"
He stepped back towards the main doors to the central tower to I-island, the one that towered over the rest of the technological city. Of course everyone expected to have important business inside of there, and since everyone kept focused on the number one hero no one seemed to notice the blue humanoid reptile slowly skate alongside him.
XLR8 was impressed as he watched the automatic doors close and immediately silence the noise of the crowd. "I can't believe I didn't get trampled on back there."
"One good thing that came of heroes becoming popular-" All Might began as he turned towards the main elevator, flashing the security a short salute making them comply with ease. "-is that paparazzi and other large gatherings quickly agreed to never overwhelm the target of their attention in fear they could chase them away."
"If only it also applied to combat spotting." XLR8 wished aloud, All Might quirking a brow towards the terminology.
"Combat spotting?"
"Yeah!" Izuku spun on his rolling heels. "It's really popular, trying to find local hero and villain fights to go see them in person. Unfortunately it can lead to incidents, where villains can escape into the crowd easily or make heroes more cautious about using their supermoves. There was one person who snuck into a hostage situation just so they could be closer to the action and ended up a hostage themself."
"Huh, I'll have to look into that." All Might flashed his security badge against the elevator panel, revealing a new set of options with the highest of security clearance. Clicking on one of the higher floors, Izuku could barely even feel the machine start to move as they started to rapidly ascend.
Once they arrived, the doors opened to reveal a room filled with advancements for human kind. Scientists working on complicated machinery, others reimagining the future, and others creating it.
At the back of the room, was a large sealed chamber filled with a brilliant yellow glow that seemed to contain a storm inside of it, and working with that very contraption, was the one and only-
"David Shield." XLR8 whispered in awe, seeing the man using controls to operate an unseen mechanism.
David Shield was talking to someone beside himself, a tall man with very prominent features with streaks of white in his jet black hair. On his lab coat he had a golden collar around his neck, connecting to some kind of power source over his heart composed of the same substance inside the large container. It all ran through tubes and pipes into a golden gauntlet with needles at the ends of his fingers. He seemed to use it to take samples from the large machine, and place them into separate tubes in a separate computer in which to more closely monitor or alter the properties.
He spoke in a clear tone, letting his unwavering speech be known to anyone who would listen. "The nanite cloud's self sustaining network is at eighty four percent efficiency. Enough to allow them to be active for a generation but-"
"They still wouldn't survive after an initial task." David Shield backed away from his screen. Running a hand through his hair as his mind was racing to find a solution. "Maybe we can adjust their instruments to account for cells in adapting to their presence to save on power."
"I still think the thermal plate batteries should be given priority." The other man stated as he began typing along a different computer. "The human body is rarely something to accept change. We must have the power to force it to comply with our-"
"Ahem." All Might interrupted their work, some heads glancing in annoyance at first towards the interruption but suddenly halting when they saw who was joining them. "I must say, it must be important work you all seem to be doing. It's rare for myself to go unnoticed nowadays."
"All Might." David left his work station to go greet his long time friend. "Sorry for not seeing you there, and your guest."
"It's fine." XLR8 was still gawking as he looked around the facility.
"It's been too long!" All Might clasped his giant hand around David's arm. "I hope to make these days we can see each other count. Speaking of which, I hope I'm not prying you away from anything that needs your immediate attention."
"Melissa complains I spend to much time in here already." The head scientist glanced back towards his noticeable lab partner. "Van Kleiss, can you start synthesizing the next generation of nanites?"
With a tired sigh, the man complied. "Very well, but I will be testing my theories before your own."
"Very well." David conceded, leading All Might away with XLR8 to loosely follow behind them. "You'll never believe the things we have been able to accomplish so far. I think we can even solve your, issue."
The scientist glanced back to XLR8 with an unsure gaze, who eagerly waved back at superspeeds. Leaning up towards All Might's ear, he whispered to the man. "So, who's this guy?"
"Oh." All Might fought back his amused grin. "He's someone you'll get to know fairly well soon. After all he's representing Providence."
"Seriously?" He took another take at the alien, not seeing how the unknown hero was supposed to be representing a powerful agency that many countries are signing off in approval. "So, how long have you been holding your hero form? I can meet with him separately to-"
"I have plenty of time." All Might gave a large thumbs up. "And don't worry about speaking privately around him, he's well aware of my condition and my quirk."
Far more than even David realized, something All Might would correct today.
"If you're certain." Still hesitant of this newcomer, David kept an eye on him as he opened a door towards one of his personal labs. Inside was closer to a medical wing instead of a lab, but still filled with so many tools that XLR8 couldn't identify their purpose. It was incredibly tempting to switch to something else that could.
One thing he could see tucked away, was a smaller glowing chamber similar to the larger one he saw in the other room.
"Um, Mr. Shield sir?" XLR8 pointed towards the strange device. "What exactly is in these?"
"Well." The man did take pride in his work. "While I-island has always experimented with nanomachines in a mechanical aspect, we recently hit a miraculous breakthrough in applying it towards a medical application. Thanks to our newest member Dr. Van Kleiss, we've made leaps towards having self-sustaining nanites that can do such precise work into cellular organs that we could theoretically begin to finally decipher the quirk factor. While we're still working on the self sustaining part, these chambers help to produce and energize nanites alongside giving them an objective once they enter a host."
Oh, so that's what these were. Last time he showed up to 'pick up' the supply Nezu purchased there wasn't much available. Now there was a huge surplus to run massive live tests. Crouching down to the container, he could hardly believe that their planet really was this advanced. After interacting with alien tech for so long, plenty of the Earth seemed primitive in comparison. But here humanity was, delving into a science that can be difficult for even more advanced civilizations. "So, that includes supporting and guiding cellular growth."
"It does!" David excitedly stated. "A lot of our test animals confirm that with a fresh batch of nanites they can even keep their host alive from potentially fatal wounds."
"My." All Might hated to be one of the test subjects. "It sounds like you've done lots to assure these nanites work."
"I wasn't happy about the tests either." David tried to scratch the itch that found itself on his mind. "But that's something Kleiss eventually made happen on his own. I would have fired him if his unapproved tests failed."
"The first tests, didn't?" Izuku questioned.
"No, but they weren't a complete success." The scientist took his glasses off, trying to blur the vision of his memory. "The nanites, by default try to alter the genetic structure to attempt to adapt to their injuries and the cause. That batch was destroyed, and Kleiss personally saw to making sure this did not happen again."
Well, that's good at least.
"But All Might." David motioned towards the fluid tank resting nearby. "We should check up on your state, so please relax. If he truly knows about-"
"He knows." All Might assured his slightly panicked friend. "And believe it or not, I am relaxing."
Pulling up the shirt of his costume up, he allowed David to see the chiseled, and unscared torso All Might possessed.
"W-what?" David immediately grabbed one of his tools nearby, the screen lighting up and displaying the number one hero's internal organs. "You, you've made a full recovery. Scratch that I can't find any signs of your previous injuries. How did you manage to regenerate your entire stomach?!"
"My more recent battle." All Might began to reveal. "That man, wanted to fight me at my full strength. So he managed to repair me."
"On a molecular level." XLR8 added. "Though his quirk is still limited, but at least he doesn't have to use it as much anymore."
Blinking away any denial, David placed his glasses back on, feeling there was a lot that they needed to go over. "I'll run a full series of tests, but is there anything you can tell me about that villain's quirk?"
All Might glanced over towards XLR8, who slid forward to be the center of the conversation. "I think I can tell you more about him, but keep in mind, what I'm about to share with you is what Providence is keeping absolutely top secret. I'm sharing this, because we think you can help in our efforts."
Pulling up a stool, David Shield sat in front of the two, feeling there was a lot to go over. "Well, where should we start then?"
The two who held the most important secrets to the world turned to each other, unsure of where exactly they should start.
"Maybe you should go first." All Might offered hesitantly. "I've kept mine from David for much longer, so-"
"You want me to soften the blow of his friend keeping a secret from him for so long." XLR8 was spot on, All Might flinching over the guilt. "It's alright, I did the same."
David, was starting to feel very uneasy about all of this. "What are you two-"
*BWOOSH*
The mutated hero transformed before the man's eyes in a flash of emerald light, and standing in his place was a young teen, the one who won the sports festival.
How?
"Mr. Shield." Izuku held up his omnitrix for full display. "My name is Izuku Midoriya, and I am the wielder of the omnitrix."
Within the labs, a single man was hard at work designing the whole planet was fresh with genetic anomalies, each with their own unique traits that seemed to defy basic science at first glance. But on this island filled with tools to create a swarm of machines to be able to harness their potential…
Well, Van Kleiss could hardly pass up such an opportunity.
Still, if he wanted to assure his stance in the world he would need to appease those who helped him get this far.
Sliding one of the needles of his gauntlet into a capsule, he injected it with the precoded nanites that would serve their purpose for a different master. Placing it inside one of his personal delivery drones, he made sure to confirm the encryption of its location.
"Run along now." With a click of a button, the drone shot out of its port and glided through the air, pivoting slightly as it corrected its course towards the distant destination. "I can't have any more distractions towards my goals, especially since they're so close to completion."
The clock was ticking, and the hour was fast approaching.
"David?" All Might waved his hand of the slumped scientist who seemed dead set on counting the dust on his shoes with unblinking eyes. "David, are you alright?"
"Was it too much?!" Izuku asked with equal concern. "I'm sorry, I should have let you go first All Might."
"Aliens." David uttered, still in mild shock. "And one of them has All Might's quirk?"
"In short." All Might gave a short laugh. "Yes. Sometimes I can't believe it myself."
"I mean." The scientist prevented himself from slapping himself. "I always thought there was life out there, but to think that we've already been invaded multiple times."
"I don't know if invade is the right word." Izuku shifted his balance along his feet, feeling odd for correcting arguably the smartest man in the world. "Humanity, was just in their way."
"That's even scarier to think about." The man let out a hollow laugh, feeling smaller than ever. Not just in the grand scheme of things, but also just how he's been put to the sidelines with apparently a man who had ruled the underworld of quirk society by taking any power that caught his interest.
Battles of Earth, fate decided over the most prized quirk and device in existence, all kept just out of his sight.
If he bothered to look, he probably would have found something.
HE HAD EVEN BEEN STUDYING ALL MIGHT'S QUIRK FOR YEARS HOW DID HE MISS THIS?!
*knock knock* "Papa? Are you in there?" A young feminine voice with a distinct American accent asked from beyond the door.
The fog began to lift itself from the scientist's mind, the reminded towards his own work and what he could contribute to this ever changing reality. "Come in Melissa."
That picked All Might up, the man grinning widely as they saw the door slid open to reveal David's daughter. Her blue eyes hidden behind a pair of glasses immediately brightened spotting the hero, her bright golden hair flowing behind herself as she ran towards the towering man. "Uncle Might!"
"Melissa!" He immediately picked her up, spinning the girl in place as he forgot the heavy mood. "It's been so long!"
"Too long!" Melissa reached down to pull the man into a hug. "I got so scared seeing you in your last fight, but you managed to win! I'm sorry I doubted you."
"No no." All Might began to set her back down on her feet. "It was difficult, and I could have lost my life."
"You still won." Melissa looked up to the impossible man with the same admiration of her child like self. "Just like always."
"Only with help." All Might then turned her attention towards the awkward teen standing in the corner, pretending to be invisible to not intrude on a private moment.
"Melissa, I'd like to introduce you to-"
"Izuku Midoriya." She extended her hand, then faltered at realizing she might have jumped the gun. "Sorry, I just got a little excited. Hearing someone quirkless managed to win the UA sports festival, it was really inspiring."
Accepting her handshake, Izuku never realized people really knew who he was. Sure there were some people who wanted pictures after the sports festival hype, but it didn't last long. A single one of his aliens was significantly more popular than his human life.
If the daughter of David Shield knew who he was, then maybe he was a little famous.
He should avoid that.
"Melissa." Her father, more present than before called out to his daughter. "Why don't you show Midoriya around the place, give him a tour of the best of I-island."
With an eager nod, she pulled Izuku along and out of the room, to let All Might bring up one more topic for David. "So, about that special package."
"Is it an alien body?"
"Not exactly." All Might confessed, not entirely sure what it is either. "But, it could be All for One crafting multi quirked beasts and somehow obtained alien DNA from one of our students."
Rubbing his brow to ease the oncoming headache, David prepared himself to catch himself up on a whole field of study he just found out existed. "Just when you think you have an idea on how the world is turning, you realize you're spinning in the wrong direction."
Alright, the first chapter of the I-island arc is complete. I was originally going to double the length, but I decided to make the next one more slice of life focused before going into the heavier stuff. I know I said I was going to publish roughly two chapters a week, but then I got SUPER into Fallout New Vegas until I got through all of the content. Now, I'm in a massive writing mood and will be working towards finishing this story.
Not a whole lot of people voiced their opinion about who they wanted to see in this arc, and many of the ones that did seemed to vary greatly. There was only two overlapping requests, Ochaco and Momo. Since they were mentioned to be let in on the secret soon, I decided to start transitioning them into the alien plot.
They won't be featured as much as Melissa and Izuku's tale, but enough to make them stand out from other sideline characters.
Now, let's see if I actually deliver on what I just promised.
Also, to the guy who is requesting lemons, I will never write anything like that in any of my stories.

Credit for helping me make this story goes to Animeguy1101
Planar-Walking-Entertainment: In the next arc, as already stated.
GoldQuartz: Sure, I'll see about putting a more direct dialogue about that situation. But it probably won't happen until the next arc.
Animeguy1101: I can see a way of also fitting Pony into this, briefly.
Puppy Leaf Owned: Keep in mind how time works between Izuku's universe and Ben's. Also, that other plot sounds like it's own fanfiction that would happen if Kota got his own after this one. Which I don't plan on doing. I've already invested a lot into this story, and I do plan on finishing it soon so I can work on other projects I've had in mind for years.
Mashot Tito: While their friendship has been tested before, I don't see any current issues between them. Yes they don't get to see each other as much but they're well aware of the current circumstances.
Thunder Dragon: I already have an arc planned for Kota.
Yes Izuku has scanned all of the experiments but I won't visit that again.
No I won't write in 625 again, it's over.
I already have Izuku's story plotted out, and I won't be doing a copy and paste of Ben 10 Ultimate Alien plots.
Guest: I've done lots of splicing, and I can't see a reason to do any more at this point. Kota is with his family in the Wild Wild Pussy Cat mountain base. Eri already can utilize that power.
SpaceDwarfNix: Tempting.
Colossus Bridger: They've all already had their moments though, especially the sports festival.
Mashot Tito: I've hinted at it before, like a REALLY big hint.
Omni-Trickery: I don't think I'll revisit Gentle soon, and as for the Wild Wild Pussy Cat + family reaction, that will happen next arc.
Rocket Fallout/Ashes and souls/Jolly giant 100/RandynotSavage2/Gg Leroy: You know you can just post all of your requests in one comment and not pretend to be multiple people to try and sway my story towards your own desires.
Also, put more protection over your IP.
Anthony David Torres Jr: Why would anyone take my story seriously if Izuku could always go Alien X and fix whatever problem there is?
Magueyeseck5: He has, between mental enhancements, Ditto's duplication, Big Chill's temperature regulation, Izuku has used quirk versions of his aliens on multiple occasions in this story. He just can't do it openly because officially he's quirkless.
