Squeezing him tightly, Christine buried her face in her favourite cousin in the whole world's chest, difficult with her glasses, but she didn't care, she was just happy to be anywhere else than with those angel statues.

As warm tears run down her face, Christine felt her cousin rubbing her back as he cooed, calming her down enough as she finally released him from her iron grip, with Taylor handing her a wet rag to clean her face as she sniffled.

"Oh! It was horrible!" Christine regaled the terror of being chased by those angel statues as she sat on the grated steps, patting down her face with the rag.

Feeling the two on opposite side of her, Christine blinks as she sniffled, turning her head towards Paul as he frowns, telling her that he knows what she's talking about.

Weeping Angels.

Devils, they are.

Not the worst thing he and Taylor had the luxury of dealing with, but worse in their own ways, and them here's troubling him the most.

With their ilk here, now, Paul wanted nothing more than them gone, but catching them was a different story all-together.

One couldn't simply kill one if they tried, long story short, it's impossible killing them with conventional weaponry and bioweapons.

Usually, sending them to a dead zone or a black hole's a good way of getting rid of them, but it's a hassle corralling them into one location.

Looking up at him, Christine asked why the Weeping Angels were after her, and his answer didn't inspire confidence.

Predatory creatures from a different world, a tale old as time, these Weeping Angels sought energy sources by using people.

Send them back to the furthest possible point in time, use up their energy until they pass away, rinse and repeat.

Why couldn't they post themselves to nuclear power plants and get energy that way?

Well, try telling them that.

And suppose things probably would have become complicated when officials and workers start noticing groups of statues that haven't been around the plants before suddenly showing up at odd intervals.

Who knew Weeping Angels were capable of logistics?

"They must've figured it out," Taylor broached the idea that the Weeping Angels picked up on Christine's unusual characteristics and in a bid to have a reliable energy source, try and hunt her down.

Aghast, Christine stated, "They didn't have to try to kill me!"

Paul shakes his head, explaining, "No, but they... can get interesting... they probably thought you'd be fun to play with, like one of their morbid games."

As morbid as it sounded, it's not surprising that the angels went after Christine the way they did.

A touch sociopathic, if Paul's intuition meant anything.

Truth, they're known to circles familiar with their like with nicknames such as 'kind killers,' they didn't necessary kill their prey, just sent them back far as they can to feed off them.

Though, Paul alternating stories of different groups of Weeping Angels... taking a more hands-on approach when it came to feeding.

Even though he never experienced anything from the stories, Paul still kept them in mind, never knew what sort the Weeping Angels were when no one's looking.

If curious observers ever wanted to know what a Weeping Angel looked like when they weren't frozen in place, Paul's experiences showed him that... they're much more terrifying when they weren't masquerading as statues.

Shocking, he knows, but it's the honest truth and he'll cross his two hearts on that.

Should anyone manage to catch a glance at one without it noticing, and that alone is a difficult thing to do as they're always acutely aware of their surroundings, don't say Paul didn't warn them if they manage sneaking a peek, at all.

Oh, Paul ought to say, those Weeping Angels get awfully agitated when observers attempt sneaking a peak at them when they move.

It's a long story.

Calming down, her face devoid of redness, her eyes no longer puffy, the dryness caused by the tears gone, Christine exhaled sharply as she then asked what they're supposed to do with the Weeping Angels.

So far, she only saw three, and Paul confirms they only saw three on the scanners.

"If you leave, they may attempt at finding you, again," Paul gave his observation. "There's a good chance they may turn to me, now that they know I'm here."

He then proceeded to ask Christine if she attempted to utilize tears to escape the Weeping Angels and she answers that she hadn't seen them, and she didn't have any time to open one.

Paul commended her for not risking it, bad things happen if someone rushes opening a new tear into the universe.

Christine could've easily sent herself to the sun if she wasn't careful.

"They might've gone off to find another victim," Taylor assumes that when the Weeping Angels saw Christine escaping their clutches, they broke off, went to find other victims to make up for the loses, and Paul agrees with her, saying that there's a chance that their desperation would result in many displaced individuals.

Curious as she stood up, Christine asks them why the Weeping Angels were here and now, but neither Paul nor Taylor could give her their answers.

Possibly might've gone through a rift and per their nature, absorbed energy from it, forcing its closure, trapping them here.

Not that they minded, potential victims walking amongst them, any number people could've been taken by them.

For now, Christine stays with Paul and Taylor, since the angels went after her once, they won't hesitate to try again the moment they sensed her.

"Oh, what about them?" Christine winces as she asks about her parents, Auntie Lila and Uncle Teddi, worried the Weeping Angels potentially coming after them.

Pondering this, Paul says that if he tried warning them, there's a chance that they could come here out of a sense of panic and worry, and it could complicate things should it come to pass.

"What about Uncle Hammond?" Christine brought up and Paul informed her that he communicated with their uncle not too long ago, he's with Ace dealing with some "tomfoolery" at a robot-owned plantation on Uranus in a different universe.

Since the Weeping Angels have an insatiable hunger for energy, they're not going to go far for Uncle Hammond, it'll expend their sources more than supplementing.

"We'll handle it, CJ, we always do," Paul assures his cousin as he watched her pace around the console room, looking around at the architect.

A precarious situation, indeed, but it didn't deter Paul one bit, and he strived with Taylor and Christine helping resolve this issue before the angels caused any more trouble.

To this day, nobody knows their origins, why they are the way they are, only what they're capable of doing, believe Paul, he scours libraries in different worlds whenever there's a lull in "business" hoping to find a nougat of information, but alas it hadn't happened, yet.

They simply started showing up some years back and their infamy becoming well-known later.

Not much to go off from other Doctors who encountered them prior, all said the same, even his father.

Just speculations on their part, that's about it.

Even the TARDIS wasn't much help there, wouldn't know where to look since the Weeping Angels began permitting in different territories, that trying to find their origins and their conditioning proved impossible.

Regardless, Paul wouldn't let a blind spot impede him.

"You're sure the Weeping Angels won't come after us here?" asked Christine in a small voice.

It was better safe than sorry...

"Yes," Paul answered in assurance.

"We'll stay safe, we always do, right Paul?" Taylor nudged him, grinning mischievously while holding up a fist.

With no hesitation, Paul reciprocated, bumping his hand against hers, he smiled warmly at her, "Always, luv."

With that said, their plan on getting rid of the Weeping Angels commences, though it's much more trickier capturing or corralling Weeping Angels than the Telly might say, since Godfather David introduced them into his show decades ago.

Though it would make things easier if they were able to trick the Weeping Angels to look each other in the eye…

Alas, pure fiction, like using their reflections against them.

They are not thwarted easily as depicted in the show, and they're awfully cunning using this knowledge against those unaware of the truth.

Unfortunately, with Godfather David's show taking a life of its own, warning individuals that the mirror and reflection tricks won't work would be impossible due to the way the show operates.

"Can't you track them, cousin?" Christine asked if Paul's able to use the TARDIS and he affirmed it's possible, but with how fast they move unobserved, it's only possible for the TARDIS to predict where they end up.

Taking helm of the console, Paul moved the TARDIS from its hiding spot, allowing them to rescue Christine without being seen, preventing the Weeping Angels from seeing the TARDIS.

Per the TARDIS's suggestions they ended up near a defunct power plant.

Why a defunct power plant, the TARDIS's able to mask itself, and the Weeping Angels won't come around a spent source of power, nor have any reason for doing so, so they have that as a cover.
