Master Control

Chapter 66

The morning came gently, just a warm touch of light reaching through the cracks in the blinds. It matched the feeling washing through the room. Softly, embracing them, tucking away any thought about getting up for the day. Or even a whole week.

But alas, they were still adults with children under their care.

Inko made the first move, rubbing her eyes to negotiate with her mind that it was time to wake up. Though when she saw the gently snoring man that had an arm draped around her in his sleep, she nearly forgot what she was doing. Brushing any hairs away from her pleasant view, she was content in simply watching Naomasa rest.

Her movements, along with years of being awakened for emergencies alerted him enough to take a peak. Yep, he had a wonderful view.

"Hey." He greeted with barely a whisper.

"Hey." Inko gave a kiss to his bare chest, unintentionally eliminating any chance of him falling back asleep soon. As his body got excited Naomasa was reminded of a tightening pain in his leg, the man reaching over to the nightstand to retrieve his medication.

"What time is it?" Naomasa groaned as he stretched to his phone, glancing at the time. It was really bright out, brighter than it normally was when he woke up.

14:50

Once Inko saw the time she felt tense, but reason managed to let her sink back down into the covers. There were many stressful moments in her life as a mother, from trying to help raise Izuku's confidence despite his quirkless status, a mystery watch showing up on his wrist they did their best to keep secret, adopting two children with dangerous backgrounds.

From aliens to villains, caring for the kids was a full time job.

Yet the more that kept happening, the less she felt there was anything she could do. Himiko was always more independent, just needing some course correction every now and then. Eri was always gentle, managing to find her routine in homeschool and looking for chances to help. Izuku though? The little boy she brought into the world? He was someone they depended on now.

He practically had a job as a hero, while still in highschool and raising five children of his own.

While she could rest easy knowing that if she slept in one day they would take care of themselves without an issue, she still missed the days where they depended on her.

Naomasa's fingers weaved through her hair, Inko leaning into his touch to keep her thoughts in check.

"Are you sure they'll be ok with me moving in?" He suddenly asked, Inko glancing up to him to gauge his thoughts.

"How so?"

"Well, they're pretty grown up already. I know when my mother remarried when I was in highschool I never felt comfortable in my own house after some guy-"

"You are not some guy." Inko reminded him, silencing him with a finger to his mouth. "Ever since Izuku was ten, you have been present in their lives more and more over these last six years. Besides, this house is really big. You could have a whole personal office if you wanted and it wouldn't get in the way."

"I technically have an office under the house."

"I try not to think about how Izuku insisted we have a hidden elevator from our living room to a secret base big enough to store an aircraft carrier."

"Five." Naomasa corrected with a teasing smirk. "That's just the hangar area in case we have to stow away a spaceship or two on top of whatever vehicles Nezu plans on storing."

Inko flinched, not realizing just how massive this new organization was going to be. As far as she last heard, it wasn't even ten official members. "Really?"

"We had to talk Nezu down of making a maze of tunnels under the Earth that the base could split up and fly through."

"There's no way that's possible."

"That's where you draw the line?" He laughed aloud, finally feeling properly awake enough to start getting dressed. As he stayed close to the wall to lean against as he grabbed some of the clothes he had left behind previously on 'accident.'

Once the two of them were presentable enough to exit the room, their bodies immediately alerted them to how many calories they had burned the previous night and the last time they ate. Making the kitchen their destination, Inko fixing up something fast while Naomasa began to work the coffee maker, something started to become glaringly obvious.

"Where are the kids?" He asked, noting how despite it being the mid afternoon they hadn't heard a peep all day.

"Call Izuku." Inko announced, some part of the house responding to her wish. She wasn't sure who installed the automated part of it, either Izuku, his tech obsessed friend, or even that one hero with the exo suit, but either way she did like the convenience of it.

After a couple of rings, Izuku's voice came over the hidden speakers around them. "Hi Mom."

"Hey honey. We noticed you weren't home."

"Oh uh, we decided to let you and Dad have the house to yourselves for the night."

Inko gave her new husband a clear look of 'I told you so', in which he just rolled his eyes as he brought his mug up to his mouth. "So where did you go?"

"Antarctica."

Of course it couldn't just be staying in the lighthouse or camping on the beach just outside.

"Is everyone ok?" Naomasa spoke aloud, making his eavesdropping known to Izuku.

"Yeah. I switched out Himiko's quirk temporarily and Eri has a multi environment suit on. They're playing with some penguins right now."

"What about your kids? Are you sure they'll be careful around the penguins?"

"Enji tried to eat one while yelling KFC, but I've got a couple of ditto copies of me supervising. Anyways if you want you can have the house to yourselves for the week. We were thinking we could spend tomorrow in Alaska or Asker."

"Where's Asker?" Naomasa questioned.

"Norway, apparently the theme is picking snowy places starting with A."

"Do they even have snow this time of year?" Inko looked over to Naomasa, who could only shrug assuming Izuku had looked more into whatever he was planning. "Ok then, be safe."

"Oh hey!" The new man of the house spoke up before the call ended. "Izuku, is that Honeymoon offer still on the table?"

"Of course! Where were you thinking?"

'Honeymoon offer?' Inko mouthed to him as she brought them their breakfast/late lunch.

"How feasible would it be to have Mars as an option?" He continued, a contemplative hum being the immediate reply.

"Well, you wouldn't have to worry about safety if you went inside the omnitrix but if you wanted an authentic experience I could ask Principal Nezu for some authentic NASA Mars base schematics then use Gray Matter to draft something that Jury Rig and Upgrade could make from a scrapyard. Probably the safest option would be to render some alien quirks you two could use so you wouldn't have to worry about space suits or-"

The fact that Izuku pitched several options on how they could spend a honeymoon on Mars proved how much their lives had changed. An unpredictable, adventurous life that they had already been sharing for many years, and would do so for many more to come.

Grabbing the ends of his straps and pulling forward, Izuku's bag pack fit snug against the back of his biker inspired jacket. Glancing against the window and making sure his shorter hair was looking ok, he swiped his fingers along the wavy green curls to the side and turned around.

"Ok, harness check." Izuku knelt down, five blue bodies lining up in front of him as he inspected each of the compressed technology made to monitor and keep each alien child safe. With a couple diagnostics and tugs, he approved each one.

"Good, good, turn around, good, good. Nothing pinching? Good, good."

Giving a kiss on their heads and a tight squeeze of a hug, Izuku kept trying to ease the pain by convincing himself that it's only a week, he can spend the night here if he needs to, and if anything were to happen he was a teleport away.

"I love you."

"Wuv uuuuu." His children purred into his chest, making the ordeal much harder than it was.

"Be good ok?"

"Kaaayy."

It took the strongest of wills to get him to let go, that and the honking horn outside the home. The rest of his family, even Himiko were seeing him off for the short trip.

"Take care." Inko gave her son as tight of a hug as he gave his own children, Izuku knowing from experience how much heart she put into each one. "I expect a text every night."

"Alright."

"Try to relax over there." Naomasa gave him a short pat. "You're there to give pointers, not join your friends in pushing your muscles all day. You're still on call for Providence after all."

"Right."

"Take lots of pictures!" Eri requested with eagerness.

"Of course."

As for Himiko, she just stood there almost confused by it all, and her confusion made everyone else confused until everyone was confused. "What? It'll just be a week in the country. It's not like he's going off to space on a deadly mission or something."

"Are you guys sure you don't want me to leave another me here? It's no trouble."

"You deserve a nice trip." Inko assured him. "All of you."

*HOOOOONK*

"I should probably go now." Izuku began to step out of the front door, still dragging his feet as he gave a short wave. "Bye."

"Bye bye!" All the blubies waved him off, flying or jumping in place as they overcrowded the rest of his family's well wishes.

When he began walking down the driveway, Izuku expected something akin to a van or an SUV. No, instead he saw something that was a cross between a limo and an offroading vehicle. It was so huge, he doubted it would even fit on a road. Having to grab a handle and JUMP up into the open backdoor, Izuku was greeted with several other of his teachers inside of it.

"Heyaaa!" Present Mic glanced back from the passenger seat of the vehicle. "How ya doin little listener?"

Finding his place and buckling himself in, Izuku realized he had become incredibly accustomed to interacting with the professional heroes. Either in a student/teacher setting, or working with them on the scene. "Doing well sir."

"Please." Midnight leaned back next to him while showing off her very revealing hero attire. "We're coworkers right now, we can relax around one another can't we?"

"Y-yes ma'am."

"You're not helping." Power Loader chastised from the driver seat, already getting them started on their road trip and weaving through traffic. "Aizawa's taking his class over a day early, so we should be getting there by the time they arrive at camp."

"Unless he puts them through some improvised death gauntlet." Present Mic joked as he started connecting his phone to the car's stereo.

Knowing Eraserhead? That was a very likely outcome.

"Oh, by the way." Midnight reached down to a compartment to reveal it was a minifridge, pulling out a drink to really enjoy the luxury vehicle. "It might come up, but you might get some pressure from Kan to give his kids some AGQ's (Alien Generated Quirk). Since UA staff is already aware of your secret cover story for the watch, he's been pushing Nezu to allow the same privilege to his classmates as well."

"It used to be how it was just a One A secret." Power Loader continued. "But between gossip and typical teenage snoopiness, word has been floating around his class and they are aware that there's a connection between you and the quirk upgrades."

"We'll keep em off your back though!" Present Mic assured before he started messing with the sound settings. "They'll be too busy puking their guts out to bother ya!"

That was a joke right? You know, from what he's seen and heard, probably not.

"Will All Might be there?" Izuku had to ask. He never managed to see the number one hero teach in person, and his fanboyism over the idea did not go unnoticed.

"Sorry." Midnight apologized on All Might's behalf. "He may be a UA teacher, but he's also still the symbol of peace."

"He's also busier than ever." Power Loader called out from the front of the oversized car. "Given how the HPSC was destroyed, All Might stepped up to have his agency manage all the heroes in Japan. He's got so many jobs from teaching to a new government position and helping out with Providence, it's a miracle everything he can juggle."

"He is the number one hero." Izuku muttered in awe, always amazed by how great All Might could be. His skills, strength, moral integrity, everything you could ever want a hero to be he went further beyond.

"You know." Present Mic fully turned around in his seat, lowering his shades to look the boy in the eyes. "You're kind of like the big guy in a lot of ways."

The comparison came so sudden Izuku immediately doubted it. "I could never be like All Might."

As much as he dreamed of it, he was no All Might.

"Don't sell yourself short." The woman scooted closer to twirl one of his wavy curls in her finger. "You're a good boy."

"Stop it." Power Loader warned the woman's flirty persona. "But seriously Midoriya, you inspire a lot of people. Whether your alien forms helping out during relief or just you helping classmates, you're an example to them."

"Not to mention the punches you pack." Present Mic added on as Izuku started to tuck himself further into his seat. "Seriously little dude! You not only fought All Might in his crazed EVO state, you fended off a guy who was about to smash the Earth!"

As Izuku started to fold into himself from the sheer compliments, the teachers decided to let up on the boy. He could probably take them on easily. From the multiple uses of the omnitrix, the various alien forms he could turn into with all of their strength, and his knowledge of their own abilities and weaknesses, they didn't want to push their luck in teasing him.

As the living wrappings of Shota Aizawa steered through the winding roads through the mountains, earplugs to drown out the noise of his students, his grip on the wheel threatened to snap it off of its frame.

Aoyama had not shown up, had not replied to any means of communication, and the location of him or his parents could not be confirmed. Now this wouldn't have bothered him too much, given how it had only been a couple of hours since they noticed that among the students arriving to go on their training camp he was not present.

He could have slept in.

He could have gotten the day wrong.

He could even have gotten sick, if that was possible with his enhanced state.

But UA had already been the target for villain attacks, those villains who have gotten their hands on Aoyama's new DNA and created nomu with them. Now they would be going out into the woods, separated from the rest of the populace. Though if Aoyama was how they originally got the schedule for USJ, any chance of him leaking the location shouldn't be possible now.

None of his students were aware of where it was at, including the boy. So if the villains wanted to make a move, why remove their source of information?

It didn't sit right, but if anything did happen they had even more UA teachers present, and their trump card. Unless they had someone on the same level as a planet killer, it would take a lot more than a couple of nomu to pose a threat.

That didn't mean he liked the potential risk.

"Ok, pull out everyone." The walking mummy that was Eraserhead stood up at the front of the bus, claiming their attention away from conversations, naps, or personal entertainment.

"Really?" Mina glanced to the window, seeing nothing but the road and trees. "Do we have to walk the rest of the way?"

"Something like that." The man spoke as he stepped off the bus, motioning for the others to follow.

"What if we're stranded?" Denki began to joke, another one of him coming up from behind in mock horror. "In the middle of nowhere!"

"Stop it." Kyoka bonked the head of one of them, following the crowd shuffling their way off. "There's two people outside waiting for us. I bet it has to do with that."

She could pick up the familiar voices of Ragdoll and Pixie-Bob, both trying to prod Eraserhead about his drastic change from the last time they saw him.

The students all flowed outside, no bags no luggage, only what they had on their person as they went to greet the mystery people. They certainly weren't expecting heroes, but guess it would make sense that the Wild Wild Pussy Cats and their expertise in mountain rescue would have something to do with outdoor hero training.

"Hi kittens!" Ragdoll waved to them as they began to approach, keeping a polite distance which worked great for what they had planned. "It's great to see all of you! We have lots of activities and fun planned just for you guys!"

"That's right!" Pixie-Bob hid her bubbling amusement behind a genuine smile. "We're going to be pushing you all to your limit today, and we expect you to go beyond our expectations as UA promises you will."

"So don't make me look like a liar." Eraserhead lifted one of his fingers off into the distance. "There's a mountainside retreat, where food will be prepared and waiting for you when you arrive."

As great as food sounded, his students were all on edge of what they were being thrown into.

Never mind, DROPPED into!

With a push of Pixie-Bob's quirk, the ground they were standing on began to collapse underneath them. Yet because of how often they were exposed to sudden tests or life and death situations, many reacted just in time to avoid tumbling along the ground. Not that it hurt Eijiro's diamond hard skin.

There were those with good athletics, such as Bakugo and Mina who easily maneuvered down the hillside.

Those who had improved reflexes, such as Tsu and Ojiro who leapt backwards to stick along the side of the bus they arrived in.

Then, there were those who could fly, such as Denki, Ochaco, and Reiko who hovered in place.

"Damn." Pixie-Bob cracked her knuckles, preparing to put more effort into this than she thought. "Crazy how quirks are growing in these new generations."

"Excuse me." Ojiro flung himself from the side onto the top of the bus. "But, what exactly are the rules here?"

"Yeah." Ochaco folded her legs as if she was sitting on the air. "Or do you want us to do something different."

Stepping up to give some actual boundaries to the exercise, Eraserhead came up with some basics. "The whole class needs to arrive at base camp before you can all eat."

"Is that it kero?" Tsu croaked.

"Don't make me add more."

Not needing to be told twice, the students immediately complied and began making their way down to join the rest of them.

"I'm telling you guys!" Denki proudly zipped to the front of the group of seventeen. "Kyoka and I spent our whole internships out here! I bet we're going to stay in the cabins we built!"

"I would like to spend some time in the springs I made." Kyoka echoed. "But yeah, it's not the woods we have to worry about."

"What do we have to worry about?" Eijiro's question was answered as something came bursting through the trees.

*BOOM*

To be immediately detonated by Bakugo, a shower of dirt raining down on them. He had no curses, no demeaning remarks, just a level headed reaction to seeing a giant dirt rhino charging at them.

"Holy crap!" Toru shouted as she dodged a couple of rocks that fell from the blast. "Is this one of their quirks?"

"Pixie-Bob's." Kyoka answered as she pointed up to the woman still up on the road. "She can do a lot at once, but they're only slightly tougher than the entrance exam robots."

"Seriously?!" Cracking his knuckles, Eijiro stood up to the front with Bakugo and Todoroki. "Then we'll lead the charge and plow the way for you guys!"

"Hey." Ochaco rose her hand. "Can't I just fly us all over?"

"I don't think she'll let us." Momo observed, before Tenya began taking command.

"Kaminari, please lead the way! I alongside Uraraka will scout ahead and lighten the targets. Yaoyorozu, please make some radios for each of the following groups. Kirishima, Bakguo, and Todoroki will be our front liners. Jiro can split up and update us on the enemy positions where Ojiro and Tsu can-"

But one of them wasn't listening. Reiko kept her eyes on the source of the sudden rush of dirt creations that attacked them. Nothing could touch her, nothing could see her as she began to fly back up near the vehicles.

Eraserhead was already stepping back into the bus, while Pixie-Bob and Ragdoll were getting into their car as they used their quirks to keep an eye on class A. Before they could get away, she slipped inside the blonde's body and took control.

"Wow, they're suddenly moving much faster." Ragdoll noticed, before glancing over to the stiff Pixie-Bob. "Did you decide to go easy on them? Wait, did one of them come back or-"

Eraserhead halted his foot before he climbed into the driver seat, turning back to closely examine the suddenly quiet woman. "Yanagi."

Pixie-Bob turned around, revealing the pale complexion with the eerie blue eyes that were inhuman. Ragdoll scattered out of the car seeing the possessed woman, while Eraserhead criticized his lack of foresight on the obvious.

Should've seen that coming.

"This isn't against the rules." The ghostly girl argued when she met the man's spooky gaze.

"True, but unless stated otherwise I don't want you to possess any of the teachers or heroes."

"...anyone else?"

Given that she was asking, Reiko was probably coming up with some ideas to circumvent his new rule alteration. He turned to Ragdoll, who might have an idea on who she would prefer not to be possessed.

"O-oh." Never in her life had she had to give any thought to who she preferred to not have a ghost child take over, she did a quick mental tally over who would be present. "Well, while we're pretty far from the camp grounds let's leave civilians alone."

"Reasonable." Reiko quickly agreed.

"We also have a kid staying with us." Ragdoll added, DEFINITELY not wanting the girl to take over a kid who can turn into a bunch of superpowered aliens. "He's also been through a lot so, give him some space ok?"

"Sure."

"Good….now uh, would you leave me friend please? Or do we need a priest or-"

"Not necessary." Reiko slipped out of Pixie-Bob, who quickly regained her bearings and spun around to see the floating girl. "I'll go join the others now."

The blonde heroine shivered as Reiko left, never in her life having dealt with such an ominous child before. "Geez Aizawa, maybe a heads up next time you try turning our camp into a haunted forest."

"Noted." He probably didn't need to ask, but paranoia had kept him alive this long. Excluding a near death experience. "But Nezu did warn you that if you accepted hosting UA students you could be targeted by the League right?"

"Oh." Pixie-Bob smirked over to Ragdoll. "I think if anything happens, we'll have some quick help. Now, excuse me while I get back to seeing which of these boys is going to win my attention."

Great, as if Midnight's antics with students didn't give him a headache.

"Kota?"

*PEWPEW*

"Kota!"

*CRASHBOOM*

"KOTA!"

Slipping his earbuds out, Kota paused the handheld game in his hand and looked up from his reclined spot along the couch. "What's up Mom?"

"Our guests will be arriving soon."

"They're not staying here with us are they?"

"No." She quickly stated as she sat near his feet, the brace around her legs and waist easily keeping up with her and supporting her shifting weight. "They'll be in the lakeside cabins a couple of students made when they were staying with the Pussy Cats before. But for meals and some of the exercises they'll be at basecamp. The teachers will be staying next door in the original cabins."

He kept listening, waiting for the important stuff that originally brought the woman over. Mrs. Waterhose prepared herself for the difficult conversation, placing a comforting hand on her son's knee. "I know ever since your father was taken from us, you haven't liked the idea of heroes. Especially how you reacted to me going back into the field."

"Uhuh."

So far so good, she thinks.

"You've been through a lot, and I'm sure life will never be really normal." Her pointed words made his turn over his wrist to see the face of the omnitrix, stuck to his arm. "Even if you don't like the idea of heroes, our world is still filled with them. Will you be ok with the teachers and students here?"

Kota could agree that he didn't like how his mother still chose to be a hero, even while she was still injured and relying on some tech just so she can walk. But, there were many times this summer where he found himself doing exactly what heroes do. Fight bad guys, protect people he cared about, and sometimes he did enjoy using his powers for fun. He never considered himself to be a hero, just someone who did what he had to.

If that's what heroes were, he didn't have a problem with that.

"I'll be ok."

Afterall, if he can handle guys that give the kitty cats a run for their money how hard would a bunch of hero teenagers be?

FELLAS! We have got a lot ahead of us. So to cut down on my workload and avoid burnout I'm snipping some unnecessary parts. BUT there is still lots of fun and entertaining things happen with the many students here, including class B that will be arriving soon.

I didn't get any recommendations last chapter, making me wonder if anyone cares for the interactions or they just want to go straight into the plot.

SO, what interactions, questions, characters, do you want to see?

If I get nothing, I won't end up writing much for the summer camp fun.

omegazero2718 & Guest, : It's a weird situation, making threats and insults and expecting me to give positive reviews to a random writer? When I looked into it apparently it chased the person away and pissed everyone off. The only way this makes sense to me, if it was a reverse psychology play where they actually didn't like the author they were promoting.

But I have seen lots of people do and say stupid stuff on the internet, and would not be surprised if this was another case.

Thunder Dragon: Ok, well just so you know the more I've been asked to make something happen and ignoring my responses the more I don't want to do it. Earlier when I was writing this story, everyone kept asking for Izuku to figure out how to transform and I kept telling them eventually he will. But it got to the point where I almost decided to pull the plug on this story because they weren't listening.
