Writer's Notes: Welcome to Three Brothers!

The Mystic Grill had a lot of people there. It seemed like a lively place. There were teens hanging around, laughing with each other and some were playing pool up by the bar. It was so warm and inviting. Bella hugged her arms around herself a little tighter as she felt anxiety creep in. There were so many people there. It was one of those, sit where you like places and a waiter or waitress would be around to take your order. Bella sat in the booth with her mom with Mason sitting across from them. She was quiet, looking at the table, while they waited for the server.

Mason noticed how quiet Bella was. How… uncomfortable she looked being there. It was loud in there and there were a lot of people, but before he said something, Matt Donovan, star quarterback for the Timberwolves, approached the table. His blonde hair and blue eyes were the only part of the attractive quality of the football star. "Oh hey Matt. Um. I'll have a beer, Miller lite. And this is my baby sister Renee and my niece Bella." He introduced.

Matt smiled, his teeth perfectly straight and white. "Nice to meet you guys. I'm Matt. What can I get for you ladies tonight?"

Renee smiled, liking Matt already and his charming smile. "I'll have just a water. Bella?"

Bella didn't look up at Matt. "Coke." It was simple, her voice small.

Matt nodded and exchanged a look with Mason and smiled. "Alright. I'll get those drinks for you and come back for your orders." He said and disappeared.

Renee looked at her daughter. "Bella, honey, it's okay. We're in a new town, there's nothing to be afraid of. It'll be nice to interact with others. Right?"

Bella just nodded. "Sorry mom." She said and looked up. When she did, she saw the Grill in total. Her icy blue eyes glanced around, a little nervous.

Matt returned to the table at that moment, setting the drinks down and looking at Bella. "Oh. Wow… Um." He was a little stunned. He hadn't really got a good look at her face since she had been looking down the entire time. He saw that she was shy, so he didn't want to invade with any small talk or questions. But she was really beautiful and not some, oh this girl is pretty, but she was intoxicatingly beautiful and certainly a stunner.

Mason grinned and slapped Matt's arm. "I'll have a burger, onion rings instead of fries." He saw the deer in the headlights gaze and he saw how entrapped Matt was, so when Mason slapped his arm, it broke him out of that daze.

"Oh, right. And for you Miss Lockwood?" Matt asked looking at Renee.

Renee smiled. "I'll have the chicken sandwich, fries are fine. Thank you, Matt.," She said and tucked the menu away on the side.

Matt looked at Bella again, his eyes trapped in hers. "Um. And for you?"

"Um. Fries. I-I-I'm not too hungry. Thank you." Bella said with a short nod and she looked away.

Matt nodded and smiled a little. "Right, I'll get that in." He said and he walked away.

Mason smiled and took a drink of his beer. "Well, that was… something."

Renee smiled back at her brother. "Well, it isn't the first time. Bella, honey, why don't you try eating something more than just fries?"

Bella shook her head. "I'm not hungry. It's okay." She picked at her fingers. Her chest felt heavy with anxiety and she was starting to feel claustrophobic too. "Um. I have to… I have to get air." She said and stood, causing Renee to stand and let her out of the booth. Bella darted away before Renee and Mason could say something and she went outside.

Mason frowned and looked at his sister. "Has she only been like this recently?"

"Since her boyfriend left her. She used to be full of life Mason, I swear, him leaving shattered her. She doesn't talk to me, she's reclused, she's not eating. I don't know what to do." Renee was worried about Bella and the state she was in.

Mason sighed. "How long did they date?"

"Two years I think. I don't know. Maybe longer, I just can't be sure. You know Charlie took up a lot of my time and I just… I didn't pay close attention. But she's hurting and I don't like seeing her like this. It's my fault. I should have left Charlie years ago, I didn't and now…" Renee just shook her head before she picked up her water and took a drink. When she looked back towards the door, she saw Damon Salvatore walk in.

Damon was the dreamy guy. The bad boy persona that he exuded was favorable with the ladies. His dark hair was shaggy, brushing his collar, his piercing blue eyes were dazzling to say the least. He was dressed all in black, his signature style. He was casual though. When he stopped and looked across the way, sensing eyes looking at him, he got caught in Renee Lockwood's gaze. His lips curled up in a catlike smile and he made his way to the table.

Renee blushed as he approached, suddenly losing her voice to speak.

Mason glanced up. "Oh look. A Salvatore." He said and scooted over in the booth so Damon could sit down. "I thought you were in Spain amigo." He said and titled his beer up to take a long drink.

Damon kept his smile as he sat down. "I was. I'm back now. Renee Lockwood. It has been… a long time."

Renee smiled at Damon. "It has." She agreed.

Outside, Bella hid around the side of the Grill. She was sitting on a bench and just trying to collect herself. She felt tears sneak up on her as she thought about… him.

"You're mine. Don't you dare forget that." Edward's voice was cold, stern. His hands were like ice as he gripped her arms tightly like iron bound chains. Bruises were already starting to form from his touch.

Bella had spoke to Mike at school another male. It was her fault. She shouldn't have done it. "I'm sorry Edward. It won't happen again."

Edward pushed her against the wall. They were in the stairwell at school. "Good. I don't want you talking to him. He likes you Bella. More than just a friend and you're mine. Always will be only mine." He said his voice filled with anger. His mouth pushed against hers, it was rough and Bella let him assault her mouth with his. Even if it was painful, she loved him and this was what love was. Soon his mouth left hers and went to her shoulder. He pushed the material of her shirt away to expose her shoulder. He bit her, the venom filling her veins like liquid fire, burning her. He clamp a hand over her mouth to stifle the sound. He then shifted, his lips replacing his teeth as he sucked over her wound, pulling the venom out with her blood.

It left her weak but she stayed like she was. She welcomed the relief of the venom leaving her body. Edward groaned now, arousal from her blood. His eyes flickered a little bit of red but they settled back on green after a moment.

Bella jumped when she felt a hand on her shoulder. Her eyes went wide and she looked up at her mother. "M-mom."

Renee got worried about Bella and went outside to look for her. She found her in the bench staring off. She had called her name a few times but she was lost in thought. "Food is ready. Come inside honey."

Bella just nodded then hugged her arms around herself and followed her mom back inside the noisy Grill.
