The revelation fresh in his mind like an opened wound, Paul's left trying to look as if he wasn't told something heinous as he hung up the phone while his angel eyes flickered rapidly with emotions.

Forcing himself to continue his facade, he swallowed the knot in his throat, and stepped out of the office, knowing that he made it look good on the cameras.

All Paul wanted to do was leave and he went to find Cassius, still working in his lab when Paul found his way back, there Paul told him that the committee wanted a word with him in person, so he must leave.

Taking his father's words to his two hearts, Paul ensured Cassius didn't suspect anything wrong, though internally, Paul was anything but the dutiful 'errand boy' of the committee.

Cassius was happy to have him gone more than anything, more than he hoped that Paul would grease the wheels for him at the committee.

Fat chance, that!

Leaving the lab and returning to the counter, Paul retrieved his things, but of course he couldn't help himself but make sure Cassius didn't get curious about him, wanting to see what Paul brought with him.

Almost gave himself a heart attack when he initially didn't find his Sonic Screwdriver, but it was at the very bottom of his coat pocket.

Once he confirmed nothing had been taken or moved, Paul gave courtesy to Paz and Lulu, with Lulu leading him to the entrance of the building.

Desperately, Paul wanted to ask her how much she knew about Cassius's work, if she noticed anything, but he knew that he had no other choice but to keep walking.

If he said anything and Lulu started asking questions, Cassius might use his technique on her, and Paz if things become chaotic.

"You have to get them away from him!" Paul called out into the void of his mind, trying to reach out to the TARDIS.

If he wants to stop this madman, Lulu and Paz couldn't be anywhere near the outpost, their lives would be in danger if they're not already, for all intents and purposes, maybe Cassius already experimented on people, what with those 'incidents.'

The TARDIS agreed with his assessment and began working on arranging it where Lulu and Paz wouldn't be in the crossfire when Paul exposes Cassius heinous acts for the world to see.

Though it won't be enough, with more safeguards than a castle, the committee needed proof that Cassius actively worked on these experiments, with full intent, the whole thing incriminating him.

It helped the TARDIS was very much prepared to ruin the committee's day if it ever turned out they were willing to overlook this egregious misuse of science for their own benefits, so Paul has some breathing room.

He only needed to break into the outpost after everyone leaves and find the hidden area below the lab.

The proof he needed had to be enough that Cassius couldn't explain it away or try to downplay it enough to cause doubt in the committee.

Papers, schematics, they're as good as the ink they're printed with, there had to be enough finger prints it looked like an old comic book.

Upon returning to the TARDIS, Paul exhaled sharply as he held the railing.

"Even if it were true, how would Cassius have gotten Daleks to his outpost without anyone noticing?" Paul managed to speak as he questioned how Cassius obtained the Daleks necessary for his experiments.

No Dalek would go willingly and Cassius would find his outpost completely scorched within seconds of him bringing them through the door.

His angels eye moved up to the monitors above the console as he sees scrawls of text.

The stranger who Cassius spoke with that gave him the aspiration gave them to him.

"Who is this person?" Paul released his grip on the railings, swaying his arms as he walked down the steps towards the console, his angel eyes locked with the monitors above.

Whoever it was, already Paul knew they were dangerous, and he wanted a name and a face to add to the growing rogue gallery.

He watched as the scrawls changed as the TARDIS informed him that it couldn't tell him.

It doesn't know who this person is and Paul was quick to call it out, familiar with how it kept his father and mother from learning the truth about the Master.

"You know how this looks when you don't tell me these things, don't you?" Paul brought up that all the TARDIS did by hiding behind these vague words was have him believe it was true, the Master's alive, after all.

He watches as the scrawls disappear from the monitor and new words appeared.

It isn't him.

The TARDIS proceeded to tell him that it knows what it did was wrong, that the sin remained with it ever since, but it would have told him without hesitation if it was the Master.

Stole Paul away for however long to keep him safe, if it was him.

Whoever Cassius spoke with, was not the Master, or someone the Master confided in.

But it knows for certain, the Master's dead, Hamon killed him.

"And that was just a cosplayer working with robotics?" Paul questions the TARDIS as he reminded it of the incident.

The TARDIS then reminded him what his father said, find the cabal the Daleks originated from, and see what he finds.

Chewing on his lip, Paul asks, "What if this person Cassius spoke to was the same one, they chased?"

Maybe he won't have to look far for the Daleks from the cabal, after all?

Above him there's new scrawls of words.

Perhaps.

But it's not the same cabal.

Another.

From this universe.

"Our mystery person isn't well-liked by the Daleks, even more than us, why is that, then?" Paul questioned the TARDIS regarding why the Daleks were hellbent on killing this one individual.

Him and the other individuals who went by the title, the Doctor, sure, the Daleks had an intimate knowledge of how much the Doctor ruined their plans, destroyed their masses, and made them fools to everyone in the known worlds over.

The Master was no friend to the Daleks either, but if this wasn't him...?

"I don't know."

It'll work on that riddle another time, but for now, Paul had to ready to break into the outpost, and find the horrors that lie beneath it.

Waiting for the opportune time when nobody was in the outpost, Paul prepared for what lies below, the TARDIS helping him plan a way inside the outpost without setting off the security system while it worked a way to worm itself inside.

Cassius made it difficult for it, sadly, he was paranoid enough that he made sure the security system couldn't be bungled without him directly influencing it.

Closed and secure.

Undeterred, the TARDIS continued scouring for an opening for Paul to use, even if it couldn't get the blueprints to the outpost, it had other ways of learning.

It left Paul time to gather his thoughts as he paced around the console room.

His mind a flutter with who this person was that Daleks despised so much that two different groups went after them, if not the Master or the Doctor, someone capable of standing against them, and convincing enough to ingrain an idea in Cassius.

However, them fitting the description of the Master wasn't easing Paul, at all, despite the TARDIS and his father trying to tell him otherwise.
