Its eye stock on them, the Dalek let out a low drone as it wanted Paul and Cappy to protect it, but not before revealing a trick up its metallic sleeve to ensure that there was compliance between Paul and Cappy.
In a droning voice, the Dalek called out into the darkness, and coming towards the four were remnants of Dalek Thorn's sect, reformed into a hateful visage.
Robotic Daleks.
Once said that when a Dalek died, its hate so strong, it imparts itself into the chassis, forming the basis, and some having their own strong opinions about what is considered a "true" Dalek.
That, of course, resulted in several wars among the Daleks, both of the flesh and the steel.
The four Daleks forced the group apart before surrounding Taylor and Bumble, immediately they stunned Bumble, causing her to drop to her knees in a loud clunk.
Taylor knelt beside her as the Daleks loomed over them.
Unable to go near them due to the Daleks pointing their eye stocks in his and Cappy's direction, the men were forced away by Dalek Thorn as it demanded they do their part protecting it against the assassin that had killed its former disciples.
"You resurrected them! That should be enough!" Paul argued with Dalek Thorn, but it proved difficult, and it informed him that the remnants of its former disciples don't have the same faculties they once held, making it difficult to discern which is the assassin and which isn't.
Pointing at it, Cappy argued that Dalek Thorn hadn't done well in explaining what he and Paul's looking for, what type of alien this assassin is, what are their capabilities, something for him and Paul to take account to protect Dalek Thorn against.
"Very. Well. Come. With. Me!" Dalek Thorn insisted on the men follow it, leaving the women to the four Daleks keeping them from moving anywhere Dalek Thorn didn't want them.
His angel eyes briefly locked with Taylor's emerald eyes, Paul silently assured her, before he disappeared with Cappy into the darkness ahead.
Dalek Thorn took him and Cappy towards another tunnel, this time, it was a natural tunnel that was made thousands of years ago, once an underground river that poured into the cavern that they were just in.
While they're walking, Cappy and Paul shared a telepathic conversation while trying to come up with a solution to their unusual problem of being Dalek Thorn's personal bodyguards against an unseen assassin that it was sure had followed it here.
"Something's wrong," Cappy instantly said as he subtly looked towards Paul with his cyan eyes.
Agreeing with him, Paul added, "It's aware of our gifts, no shock collars, I've met more formidable foes that knew better to give us such freedoms."
Furrowing his brow as he watched the Dalek while they walked, Cappy broached an idea of reading its mind, since it's distracted, and that he was taught the old ways.
"What if it has an implant, something that'd trigger the moment it detects you?" Paul inquires the possibility that the Dalek has more than one way of ensuring forced compliance between the men.
Frowning as he warily watched the Dalek lead them towards another cavern where he and Paul saw a large opening brimming with sunlight that the Dalek used to enter the tunnel with its experiment, Cappy saw movement in the brimming light.
It was another Dalek, this one unaffiliated with the sect, and quite irate as it let out a droning, "Yo-u!"
Dalek Thorn seemed surprised at the sight of the Dalek as it moved backwards with its eye stock raised upright.
Anger in its eye stock, the encroaching Dalek let out a shrill, "Ex-ter-min-ate!"
Seeing the sight, Paul and Cappy turned to each other in confusion before they hear Dalek Thorn shout, "Ex-ter-min-ate?"
Agitated at the sight of the unaffiliated Dalek, Dalek Thorn didn't hesitate to lash out against it, and it in return shouted back, "Did. You. Think. You. Can. Escape?"
Determined, Dalek Thorn let out, "Yes!"
The unaffiliated Dalek noticed Cappy and Paul, recoiling in shock as it instantly recongised them, especially Cappy as he could tell the sight of him unnerved the Dalek.
"Why. Are. They. He-re?!" The Dalek demanded to know why Dalek Thorn had two of the Daleks' mortal enemies with it and it told why, they're prisoners.
Balking at this, the Dalek retorted, "They. Are. Not. Pris-oners!"
It refused to believe this, countering that no Dalek has ever successfully captured not only the Doctor, but the nightmare to Dalek kind for generations, but Dalek Thorn insisted, and it wanted to speak with the Dalek Supreme.
"I. De-mand. It!" Dalek Thorn made it clear that it wanted nothing more than to speak with the Dalek Supreme, else it will become irate with the foot soldier for depriving the chance to hold over all other Daleks as the first to successfully capture the two feared men.
True to their deceptive nature, the Dalek grew tempted to take Dalek Thorn's idea for itself, but the sect leader didn't survive this long for a foot soldier of a Dalek Supreme to exterminate it.
"Who. Is. Your. Supreme?" Dalek Thorn demanded to know.
The Dalek responded with a low drone, "Dalek Omega!"
It would be the last words it uttered before Dalek Thorn opened fire on the Dalek without hesitation.
Smoke filled the air as the Dalek chassis was destroyed and smoldered.
Horror on their faces, the men questioned Dalek Thorn and watched the Dalek sharply turn around to face them.
"It. Was. Only. Busi-ness!" Dalek Thorn uttered as it explained why it exterminated its brethren.
Mortified, Cappy further questioned the Dalek and it told him that if it didn't show force, things would get worse.
Paul stepped forward as he asks, "What's going on, Dalek?"
Turning around, the Dalek answered with a droning, "Dalek. Omega. Is. My. Assassin!"
However, with Paul and Cappy, it meant that Dalek Thorn can have its issue resolved, and insisted that by doing this, Paul will have his answers.
Unsettled by this, Cappy turns his head slightly towards Paul who then questioned about Bumble and Taylor's safety.
"Do. As. I. Say. They. Will. Be. Fi-ne!" Dalek Thorn insisted that if the men do what it told them to do, no harm will come of the women, further unsettling Cappy as he silently questioned the Dalek's true intentions.
With the dead Dalek, Dalek Thorn warned that Dalek Omega will be looking for them, now, and before it finds them, the men needed to look like prisoners.
