Okay, before the chapter, one note. As you all know by now, the CW is currently in that time when the determine what shows to renew and there is word that Superman and Lois will be one of the shows renewed, since they'd prefer Gotham Knights due to the lower budget and while normally I'd be pissed about that, I'm not due to the rumors that Superman and lois might be picked up by HBO Max or as it's soon going to be called, Max and honestly, I kind of hope it will be, since Superman and Lois always felt more like an HBO Max show than a CW one, especially in the budget department. I feel like they'd be able to do more with the show on HBO max. Plus, since Flash is ending next week, after that, Superman and Lois is pretty much the only show left on the CW I watch and I am kind of tired of that network. I'd rather have it continue on HBO Max anyways. Sorry, I just wanted to clear that up, since the announcement is likely coming up soon. Now on with the chapter.
"Are you sure you can handle this interview with Lana?" Chrissy asked Lois, only to have Lois shoot her a look.
"Chrissy, I'm fine. I'm not even showing yet and honestly, I think it would be better for me to do the interview than you, since you're currently dating Lana's ex." Lois said.
"Aren't you technically married to her other ex?" Chrissy asked and Lois rolled her eyes.
"The difference is that Clark and Lana broke up years ago and Lana and I are good friends. Hell, she was at our wedding. She knows that Clark and I are together. But considering you haven't even told her that you're seeing Kyle yet." Lois said.
"Fair enough. But I'm going to interview Dean." Chrissy said.
"By all means. I don't trust myself not to punch that man in the face." Lois said, since she despised mayor Dean.
"I know, that's why I'm taking it." Chrissy said.
"Have you given any thought to how you're going to explain it to Lana if she catches you and Kyle meeting up before you tell her?" Lois asked.
"Yeah, my plan on that front is to let Kyle be the one to tell her and then go from there." Chrissy said.
"Good plan. And I'm assuming you have a cover story planned out in case she sees you before Kyle tells her?" Lois asked.
"Interview with the fire chief, since we are working on that article." Chrissy said and Lois chuckled.
"And now I know why you were so quick to want to find a story there. So you'd have a cover. And when Lana doesn't believe that's all you're doing?" Lois asked with a chuckle.
"Use a Kyle as a human shield or maybe a sacrificial lamb while I make a break for it." Chrissy said.
"Smart plan." Lois said.
"Thank you. And you promise you won't say anything to Lana about me and Kyle?" Chrissy asked.
"I promise. Now, I need to go, since I'm getting close to the point in my pregnancy where the baby decides that my body is on their clock, not mine, so I want to try to get this done before that happens." Lois said and Chrissy chuckled and nodded.
"Go." Chrissy said and Lois smiled at her gratefully as she headed out.
Superman was currently flying back to Smallville after having drinks with Bruce and Diana when his hearing detected something that sounded vaguely similar to what he remembered dimensional breach sounding like near him and that concerned him, since as far as he knew, that shouldn't be possible, since the earth they were on now was the only one that had survived Crisis. He made a note to stop by Central City to talk to Team Flash about this, since this was their specialty, but for now, he decided he'd go and investigate, since if someone or something did crossover here from another dimension, he felt that it was something that needed to be investigated as soon as possible.
Which was why he followed the sound out to a crater in the middle of the Arizona desert where he saw a ship in the middle of it.
"Great. So now we're getting aliens from other dimensions." Clark said as he flew down towards the wreck, only to have a split second to dodge before some kind of hammer being thrown at him from the ship, flying way faster and further than any normal hammer should. And then of course it flew right back to its origin.
"I'm really hoping that wasn't Mjolnir." Superman said, since from what Diana told him, the Greek gods caused enough problems as it was, he did not need to start dealing with Norse ones too. Also he had to be sure that Kara and Lois never found out he said that, since he'd never hear the end of it about him being a nerd, Kara still gave him a hard time about naming all their powers and even naming the situation when they burnt out their powers.
However, he was pulled from his thoughts when suddenly, the hammer's owner exited the ship and flew up to meet him and while Clark was slightly relieved that it wasn't Thor in that ship, he was concerned about the fact that it looked a like a different Avenger had attacked him, since whoever it was wearing some kind of high tech warsuit, holding the hammer.
"Who are you?" Superman asked.
"A man trying to save the world." the guy said and before Superman could even ask another question, the man threw the hammer again and this time, it hit Superman square in the face.
"That actually hurt." Superman said, surprised, since it was very rare for him to feel blows from his enemies weapons unless they were lined with Kryptonite or red sun tech.
"It should. That's what it was designed for." the guy said.
"Why?" Superman asked.
"Because I'm trying to save the world from you." the guy said as he clearly prepared to fire some kind of laser at Superman, but now that he was ready, Superman quickly went on the offensive and punched the guy hard into the ground.
"Clearly we need to talk." Superman said, since he could tell that this man was clearly still thinking he was on his own earth instead of this one and it sounded like on this man's earth, Superman had gone rogue.
"No. We're not talking." the guy said.
"Really. Then I guess you don't care that you're in a different world now?" Superman asked.
"What?" the guy asked.
"The portal your ship came through, it brought you to a new Earth. A new universe and while clearly you have issues with the Superman of your world, I'm not him." Superman said.
"Not yet. But someday you will be." the guy said as he attempted to get to his feet, only for Superman to knock him down again.
"If I was as bad as you clearly think I am, why would I only be trying to disarm you instead of killing you?" Superman asked, but it was clear that this man would not listen.
"Okay, I guess we'll have to do this the hard way." Superman said, not really surprised as he used the man's clear shock and disorientation from the fall and likely the news he'd been given to his advantage as he made quick work in dismantling the suit, since it had clearly taken plenty of damage before he'd arrived here, otherwise, Clark suspected that it wouldn't be so easy to take the suit apart before pulling a tall black man out of it.
"I'm sorry about this." Superman said as he then knocked the man out before heading to the DOD, since he wanted to have Sam hold this guy until they knew more about him.
