Hero. The term hero is a relatively broad term with multiple all had the same basic meaning. It means a person admired for achievements and noble qualities. And just as the world changed, the same idea of what a hero was changed. Nowadays, just about anyone with superhuman abilities or anybody with enough heart to stand up to forces that threaten themselves or others was considered a hero. Heroes like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, etc, etc. were the current incarnation of heroes. Whenever someone pictured a hero they thought of the "Man of Steel" or the "Caped Crusader" or the "Divine Warrior". Nowadays, a man that could run, jump and shoot or throw a ball was considered absolute. Times were changing. But with the times changing, there was a question on everyone's mind: Where does that leave mankind?

There were Aliens, Methumans, beings from other worlds with extraordinary abilities living amongst the normal man. The man who could succumb to illness, injury and ultimately to death. These normal men weren't bulletproof. They couldn't stop trains with their bare hands. They weren't faster than a speeding bullet. They weren't more powerful than a locomotive. They couldn't leap tall buildings in a single bound. They were normal. In a sense, they were weak. Driven by their emotions. Driven by fear. Driven by anger. Driven by greed. These emotions lead to some of the greatest advancements in human history. And none of them even equaled an ounce of the power that the heroes provided. Simply put, look at Superman. The "Man of Steel" gave the humans more hope than they ever could've imagined and he had more power in just his fingertips than anyone else. One bad day, one bad moment and it could drive him to the point where he'd be angry enough to destroy the world with his bare hands.

Superman was the answer. The answer to the question that everyone had asked over and over. Are we the only life in the universe? And Superman the emphatic no to that question. But with Superman being the hero that he was. Superman having the powers that he did brought forward great, great threats. Threats that a simple gun or a missile could not solve. Threats that were far more intelligent than the brightest minds on the planet, threats that were stronger than our weapons, threats that if heroes weren't a problem, they would simply destroy everything that the humans have ever worked for.

Moral of the story: We are not alone….

Nearly forty-six million light years in space. In a galaxy, far far away from Earth. There was a planet. An iron planet nearly four times bigger than Earth with a gravity nearly three times that of Earth's gravity. A total of nine continents making up approximately sixty-one percent of the planet's landmass. Four moons orbited the huge planet. The planet itself orbited a huge white sun in a wide, elliptic orbit.

The planet's name was Skaro, named after its first reported citizen. The planet was once a peaceful home to its kind, the Skarians. The Skarians were a race of sentient robotic beings with two arms and two legs. These alien machines were machines with the mind of man. They had the ability to make anything that came to their minds. They were an extremely powerful and strong race.

For the longest there was a period of peace on the planet. A period of prosperity. Did the planet have its flaws? Yes, they did. Just like every world in the universe. Except their flaws ended up creating a civil war that would threaten the existence of their entire planet. One being saw the flaws in his government and couldn't sit back anymore. He vowed to change his government and fix the problems with his world. And while his ideas and his reasonings were noble, his methods were sinister. His name was Vexacion and he was the leader of the evil order that wanted to overthrow the government of Skaro, The Revenant.

For Eons, no one stepped up to challenge them. Until one day, an individual by the name of Ares founded The Sentinels, an alien rebel alliance to take down The Revenant. Ares and company would go onto fight back and proved to be successful for a short amount of time. But once again the scales of power would be tipped again when Ares found The Key of Destiny, a powerful gem that would give its user the ability to create life itself.

And after so many years of damage, the planet's core was growing unstable which only left them a little bit of time left.

Right now there planet was ground zero for a war. Blasts of energy, bullets were flying left and right as both sides were in a stalemate firing at one another like crazy. The Sentinels were outnumbered by The Revenant. Members of the Sentinel alliance were ducking, taking cover as members of the Revenant army had them surrounded.

"There's too many of them," said a member of the Sentimental army looking on.

"We need to fall back," said another member of the army before being shot down. Like a madman possessed came a being clad in black and red-flame like armor with a huge assault rifle like gun blasting energy blasts taking out members of the revenant army left and right. It was clear, he was much more skilled than the others, being able to shoot them down with little effort.

He jumped into the fray still firing blasts left and right. One of the members of The Revenant came running towards him, he grabbed that being and put them flat on their back before looking up and looking around.

"Where is he? Where is Stinger?" He said in his deep, commanding voice.

Out of nowhere came a being clad in a black yellow like armor. He jumped into the fray firing off several shots taking out a few targets.

"Sorry Ares, I hit some traffic," he said with a smirk full of youthful energy.

Just before Ares could speak, he looked up noticing that the number of Revenant members had increased.

"Sentinels, fall back! Fall back now! Get to the tower!" Ares commanded as the members of his team had listened to his command and fell back looking to retreat. Members of the Sentinels had retreated back to the tower like they were commanded to do so with Ares and Stinger following behind.

Once they had made it up to the upper level, they noticed the increasing presence of the Revenant Army. Ares and Stinger took cover as Ares took this time to inform Stinger of his plan.

"Stinger, We're not gonna make it. You have to be the one to survive us all. This is the Key of Destiny, you must protect it and guard it with your life. I'm sending you to Earth. It's a planet far from here, you should be able to hide with the key. Now go!" Ares said as he handed Stinger a gem that seemingly glowed with powerful energy.

Stinger reluctantly took the gem and ran to one of the escape pods. He turned to face his friends one final time which proved to be a mistake that would cost him dearly. He screamed out in agony as he felt a blast of energy pierce through the left breast plate of his armor. He fell back into the pod still clutching the key as the doors closed.

"Stinger!" Ares shouted as he watched the doors closed and watched his friend fly off in pain. He turned back towards the Revenant army that surrounded him and his small legion of soldiers and attacked with all of his might looking to take out as many as he could.

Stinger looked on as much as he could until everything faded to black.

Meanwhile on Earth,

Midway City. One of the most populous cities in the state of Michigan.

The city had several sports teams that were known to be clutch during the regular season but in the playoffs falling short. The city was home to the Midway City Chiefs (Baseball), Midway Cardinals (Football), Midway Sprints (Basketball) and Midway Wolverines (Hockey). The city had it's own media outlet known as The Graphic. The MCPD was led by the joint efforts of Stewart Frazier, MCPD Captain and George Emmett, MCPD Police Commissioner.

Since 2016, the city has been one of the cities with the most crime putting it up there with Gotham City. But the difference between Gotham and Midway, Gotham has Batman and Midway had heroes. The keyword in that sentence: had. Meaning past tense. Meaning they no longer had him anymore. When the city had him Crime was down. People were worried about a blur coming to whip their ass but now they weren't. They were free to do whatever the hell they wanted to do

It was time for a change and sooner or later, someone was going to change that.

"BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!" the alarm rang out in the 600 square feet apartment in the downtown district of the city. The apartment was a small studio apartment perfect for college students with little means of income.

A small audible groan could be heard under the blankets of a black and gray striped duvet. A fairly toned arm with clear, honey-tan like complexion reached out to press the button on the alarm causing it to shut off.

The gentleman that once lay down peacefully asleep was now fully awake and took a deep breath as he completely peeled the blankets off his body and rose up to his feet. Standing at six feet and three inches ran a hand through his messy chestnut brown hair. He took a look at the clock seeing that it was 7:03 AM.

"Shit!" he cursed as he quickly rushed to the bathroom to get ready. His first class of the evening started at 8 AM and it took him at least 20 minutes to drive from his home to the university but with the vehicle he used it may only take 10 minutes.

He rushed to the bathroom, turned on the lights and grabbed his toothbrush and toothpaste to brush his pearly whites. He looked up in the mirror taking a look at his reflection with his glacier blue orbs, seeing the square shape of his face and seeing the stubble on his chin. The straight chestnut brown eyebrows that were above his eyes. He looked on with a smirk before he started to get started with his tasks before his day started.

After taking nearly half-an-hour to get ready, the young man rushed down clad in a gray henley sweater with a pair of black skinny jeans and a pair of classic black and white vans. He had his black leather backpack on his back with his black metallic biker helmet in his grasp. He looked down at his silver watch with a black leather strap seeing that he only had about fifteen minutes to get to class.

He quickly put the helmet on his head and ran over to his black decked out Ninja 400 motorcycle. He put the key into the ignition and turned it before hearing the loud engine come roaring awake. He pressed his hands on the handlebars and kicked his peg up before twisting on his thrust and zipping away.

He came rushing out of the parking garage and recklessly rushed into traffic without waiting for the righ away, cutting off a truck making him honk. The speed limit was 40 through the city but he was doing at least 65. He aggressively jumped from lane to lane cutting people off left and right.

Was this safe? No but he needed to get to class quickly. He saw a light turning to a bright yellow at a four way and he damn sure wasn't going to stop it. He lightly pressed on his clutch causing his gear to change before twisting on his thrust even harder. He watched as the light changed from red but before anyone could go at the other side, he quickly ran through the red light recklessly. He chuckled underneath his helmet.

But that smile quickly dissipated when the sound of sirens could be heard from behind him. He peeked over his shoulder seeing a black Dodge Challenger with Police in white written across the side.

"Shit!" he cursed as he saw the cop starting to get closer. He reached over on his handlebars and pressed a button causing a small black cover to slide over his tag. He started to aggressively slide through lanes hoping to lose the cop that way but the cop seemingly saw that coming and started to speed up as cars peeled off the side giving the cop the road.

He looked around before his eyes landed on an alleyway. He sped up as the cop did the same. He quickly made a sharp turn causing his tires to screech as he did so. The cop car did the same but momentarily came to a pause as he collided with a parked car on the side.

He came flying through the alleyway until he came upon an open end on the street once again recklessly jumping to the fray of traffic. He pressed on his clutch and rode off as fast as the bike would let him.

He slid through onto the campus, abruptly coming to a stop as his tires screeched while he parked on the sidewalk. He put his lever down allowing his bike to lean off to the side. He took a deep breath as he looked down at his watch seeing he had about 10 minutes to spare. He took his helmet off running a hand through his hair before he started to make his way over to his class.

"Luke, I'm surprised you're here," he heard, making him turn around to see his friend Caleb stand in front of him. Caleb stood at 5'10 with messy chocolate brown hair and stubble.

Luke chuckled as he turned his head towards Caleb who ran towards him and stood by his side. For the past few days, he hadn't been to class because he was handling some business. Some personal business.

"Yeah, I just had to take care of some stuff. But I'm back now."

"That's good to hear. I needed my wingman for tonight's party."

"Party?"

"Yeah, there's a party at the lake tonight. I was hoping we could swing by and get some girls," Caleb said as Luke rolled his eyes as the two continued on their way to class.

After casually taking their time to walk to class. The two men had arrived at the double doors leading to the spacious college auditorium for their class. As the two walked in, they looked around before their gaze set upon a pair of seats down in the middle row. Two rows down his eyes set upon a woman that seemed like she was the only one in the entire world.

A woman with a slender build with a deep, rich tan. Straight long jet black hair with steel blue eyes that could bend any man or woman to her will. An angelic round face with thin eyebrows that seemingly fit perfect to her face. Her steel blue eyes met his glacier blue orbs, making a small grin appear on her face as she waved at him.

"Dude you're staring," Caleb said as he nudged his elbow into Luke's side getting his attention as he tried to hide the blush on his face. Caleb and Luke both came walking down to the open seats they saw in the middle row. Luke sat down as his eyes landed on the same girl as before.

Her name was Nicole. The two didn't really know each other but would occasionally make glances at one another. Although he couldn't say to her what he really wanted to say due to her having a boyfriend. Trent Williams, the star quarterback for the University's football team, was her boyfriend and they had been together for a few months.

And tensions were already high between Trent and Luke. Trent was one of the guys that used to try to bully Luke during his freshman year of high school up until he had his growth spurt. That's when Trent backed off but the relationship between the two had been sour ever since.

Growing up Luke was a troublemaker going to juvie on a grand theft auto charge and on a breaking and entering charge. Luckily he was able to have a good lawyer so he spent the minimum time in the juvenile detention center. His lawyer managed to get his record sealed so that he would still be able to go to college and hopefully chase a better life. He had acted out mostly because of the fact that the only woman that ever raised his mother had passed away from cancer when he was 12 years old and that his father was a junkie who couldn't be bothered with raising his son.

To put it lightly, Luke had been on his own for a while and he liked it that way. It gave him less to worry about. He had a checkered past and he was determined to have a decent and bright future. And step one to achieve that was to graduate with Bachelors in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. Despite his careless and reckless attitude, he was a rather intelligent person being interested in the advancements in technology and science. Companies like KordTech, Wayne Industries and such were the companies that interest him the most.

His dream was to create his own company, GraveTech. The company would hopefully be able to create technology that could shape the future of the world and make it a better place. That was the dream. Starting that company was step two and step three would be to have a family. A family that he could love and a family that would love him.

That was the dream but first he needed to get through the now to get to the then.

After a few hours, Caleb and Luke both pulled up to Lake Huron just a few miles away from the city. Luke pulled up on his motorcycle while Caleb pulled up in a candy red Camaro. Luke kicked the peg down for his motorcycle allowing it to lean to the side as Luke stepped off. He took off his helmet and his jacket and put them on the passenger side of the vehicle.

Both men were dressed to a tee as they both were looking to impress some members of the opposite sex.

"So what are you guys doing here?" said Trent, the schools leading quarterback who walked up to the two looking to check them.

"We're here for the party," Luke said looking on with a frown.

"I don't remember inviting you guys," Trent said as he folded his arms making sure his muscles were bulging. Luke looked at his arms and chuckled as he ran a hand through his hair clenching his fist. Trent and Luke were about the same height but Trent had him beat in terms of weight no doubt but that wasn't enough for Luke to back down.

"It's a lake therefore it's public property. And then you posted it on the school's snapchat page. So it's free ground. Unless you wanna try to kick me out yourself?" Luke said as he clenched his fist getting ready for a fight perhaps.

Out of nowhere, Nicole came running towards the two jumping in between them to make sure nothing went down. Trent scoffed as he yanked Nicole by the wrist and dragged her away.

"I know of another party. Let's bounce!" Trent commanded his seemingly large following base.

"So much for a party," Caleb said as Luke looked on with a frown as the two walked towards their vehicles. Caleb unlocked his car and reached into the car pulling Luke's jacket and helmet out.

"Wanna go to that pizza place on fourth they close at 11?" Caleb suggested as Luke simply nodded.

"Yeah, I'm down."

From a distance he could see Nicole and Trent close to one another talking.

"Hey how about you let me drive?" Nicole said with a smile as she looked up at her boyfriend, Trent.

Oh, no. No, no, no, no. This is not a toy," he replied as the smile that once came across her face faded away. "These 22s, I don't want you grinding on them. No, why doesn't my little bunny just hop in the backseat?" he said as she looked down at her feet.

"God, I can't even tell you how much I'm not your little bunny," she said before she pushed him out of the way as he scoffed and watched as she walked away.

"You'll call me," Trent arrogantly said as she started to walk her way back to the city.

Luke watched and saw all this go down putting a frown on his face as he sat mounted on his bike as the engine roared waiting for his next move. He turned his head to see Caleb looking on with a smirk.

"Go get her bro," Caleb said as he patted Luke on the shoulder. Luke put his helmet on and his jacket on and kicked the peg up before he rode over to her with the visor up.

"Nicole, it's Luke. We share a class together. I was hoping I could give you a ride home," he said as she turned to him.

"No, it's okay. I'm fine."

"Nicole, you live 10 miles away. That's too long of a distance to walk."

"I'm fine," she said, flashing him a smile as she continued to walk. He took a deep breath at her stubbornness and put his hand on the thrust, going forward before coming to stop in front of her. He took off his helmet and turned towards him with a look of concern on his face as she looked at him with a bewildered look.

"Nicole, get on. I'm not leaving you stranded," he said. She took a deep breath before nodding and walking towards him. He handed her the helmet and the black leather biker jacket, looking on as she put on both of them. She straddled the back of his bike and wrapped her arms around his waist. He tried to hide the wide grin on his face at the moment but did a terrible job before riding off away from the party.

After what seemed like the fastest ride in history. He pulled up in front of a set of townhouses. He wished the ride could've been longer but with her directing him and telling him exactly where to go there was no way to deviate from the path. Luckily she had gotten the chance to vent and talk to him and tell him some information about herself that he never would've known without getting this chance.

"Here we are," Luke reluctantly said as he kicked the peg down allowing his motorcycle to lean over to the side. He unmounted himself from the bike and stood over to the side. She tried doing the same but she ended up nearly falling as she tried getting off the bike. He quickly reached up to catch her.

"You alright?"

"Yeah, I'm fine," she said as she let out a nervous chuckle as they both rose up to a vertical stance. This was when he noticed really how short the young woman, standing at five-feet, four-inches. She took the helmet off her head, handing it back to him as she ran her hands over her hair, straightening it up in the process.

"I had fun. Thank you. For the ride and for listening," she said as she looked up into his glacier blue orbs.

"Anytime, Nicole." he said as his eyes met hers.

"You-You think I'm shallow?" she asked nervously as she ran a hand through her hair.

"Do I think you're…. No, No, No. I think with you there's more than just looks. There's more to you," he answered as a wide, toothy grin appeared on her face.

"Alright, I'll see you in class," she said with that same grin.

"Alright. Have a good night."

"I will. You too," she said as he watched her eyes glance down at his lips before she walked away towards her door. His eyes seemingly had a mind of their own and traveled down to her hips watching as she walked towards her door. He mounted his motorcycle watching as she walked into the house, turning back, giving one more wave before retreating to the inside of her home.

He chuckled before placing the helmet over his head and riding off.

Luke was taking a slight detour. Riding over in the countryside of Michigan where it was nothing but grass, trees and open road. He needed to think. To mentally go over everything that had happened today.

However his thought process was cut off when heard a loud noise coming from the sky making him look up to see a huge meteor flying towards him.

Before he could even respond the meteor crashed down in front of him making a huge crater as he bike fell into the crater. He grunted as he crashed into the ground hard. He took off his helmet and tossed it to the side as he felt like he had a pounding headache. He looked down at his arms seeing a cut on his arm. He stood up groaning as he did so feeling pain in his ribs and in his legs. He looked at what looked like a giant oval-like pod with a glass plate that was broken. He slowly walked over to the pod seeing an alien in the pod.

Or at least, he thought he was an alien. He didn't look like an alien. He looked more like a machine. A black and yellow machine. He saw that this machine was leaking a green-substance.

"What the hell?" he said as he stepped closer, this time standing on the broken glass. Luke continued looking on with confused frown. Suddenly the glass plate gave out and Luke fell through, falling onto this giant mecha.

This seemingly awoke the mecha as he suddenly jolted up coughing as the green liquid started to seep faster from his wound. Luke looked on with a frown as the mecha slowly raised it's head to see him.

"H-H-Human. Protect the k-k-key." He said as he raised his palms towards him, showing him a glowing gem. Luke hesitantly reached for the key but once he made contact with the alien, he felt something. He felt pain.

He felt pain in his chest and his back. His vision had gotten blurry. His ears were ringing. He fell to his knees groaning out in agony staring at his hands. Even with his blurry vision, he could see the bones in his hand bend and watch as his skin turned to a black color while yellow armor plates started to form over some area of his skin.

"Vessel found, beginning upload, initiating Stinger transfiguration!"

And just then, everything faded to black.
