Luke screamed out in agony, trying to fight the pain coursing through his body right now. He dropped down to his knees, grinding his teeth together as he felt the blades of his shoulder bend and contort in ways the human body was not meant to do. His hands gripped his belly as he felt his stomach churn in an uncomfortable way. His eyes gave a glowing blue hume as he found himself panting for his breath and coughing as a metallic substance began to leak out of his mouth. Breathing frantically as the substance began to run down his neck and onto his body. He stared at his hands, screaming as it watched them change from their tannish tone to a black metallic hue with a bright canary yellow armor run over them.
"I apologize for the pain. I can assure you this transition only hurts once," Luke heard a voice say but it wasn't a voice coming from the outside but rather within.
The liquid that seeped out of his mouth before had coursed down his entire body covering it in a black metallic material as canary yellow armor plates formed over various parts of his body including his chest, his abdomen area, his shoulders, his entire back, the outer region of his arms and his legs. After what felt like eternity, after one simple minute of constant pain in his body Luke was clad in a black and yellow set of air. He opened his eyes to a normal set vision but when he brought his hands up to touch his face he felt a pair of lenses over his eyes.
"Thankfully, we seem to be compatible… I apologize for the pain, human but it's a necessary part of the transformation sequence," the voice said again.
"Transformation? What the hell?" Luke asked.
"My name is STG-005 but my friends call me Stinger. You and I have merged as one. I am from the planet Skaro. We're an advanced group of alien mechanical organisms. Due to our merger, you have been given abilities of my kind. Whatever you can imagine, we can make, weapon wise."
"So you just go around randomly merging with people? That's extremely invasive. Sounds a lot like rape!" Luke exclaimed, irritated by the fact that he was just randomly merged with a being from another world without his permission.
"Forgive me human but it's a matter of my survival. I was assigned a mission. To protect the Key of Destiny, if it gets in the wrong hands it could mean the end of your world."
"Not my problem…, now, how do I get you out of me?"
"I'm afraid we cannot separate. Once the transformation process has been completed it cannot be reversed. Our life forces are connected now. If you die, I die."
"SO LEMME GET THIS STRAIGHT, YOU JUST RANDOMLY MERGED WITH ME AND NOW YOU'RE SAYING THAT I'M FORCED TO BE STUCK WITH YOU FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE!"
"I'm sorry human but yes. But on the bright side, our merger has mutated your cells with the energy of my kind, we call it S-Force."
"S-Force? What the hell is that?"
"Like I said, it's the energy of my kind. It will make you stronger, faster, smarter than the average human. Your body will be able to heal faster than the average human. And it's because of that you will be able to outlive the average human."
"This is too much. Too freaking much," Luke said as he started to feel himself get a little dizzy. He dropped down to a knee as he felt his vision start to fade.
"It appears your body needs some time to recuperate and adjust to the recent changes. I will go ahead and set a course for home," the AI system said Luke simply fell out of consciousness while everything faded to black. The last thing he remembered seeing was the glowing gem.
"We got a reading of unknown energy near Midway City," said a woman wearing an all-black military-like outfit as she approached a mocha-skinned heavy set woman with short jet black curly hair with a blue pants suit and pearl earrings. The woman had a natural grimace on her face and an aura that screamed out intensity.
"Mobilize project Amargon," the heavy-set woman said with an evil smirk as her employee scurried off to go through with her orders.
A bright flash of light lit up the dark night sky as a black metallic figure with glowing green eyes could be seen in the sky. The figure came crashing down into the crater.
"Scanning for abnormal energy readings," said the android as it looked around the crater scanning for energy with a visible green wave. The wave came back red indicating that there was an abnormal energy signature there earlier making the eyes begin to glow red.
"Abnormal energy detected. Commencing attack mode now!" the android said before blasting off into the sky heading towards the direction of the city.
KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!
"Luke open up!" Luke heard at his door making him open his eyes wide in shock as he bolted up. He looked around at his surroundings noticing that he was in his apartment. He looked down at his body seeing he was still wearing the clothes from last night.
He didn't really remember too much from last night besides going to take Nicole home after getting kicked out of the party he was trying to attend. Maybe that accident was a dream.
"Human, you might want to get that door," said a voice inside of his head.
And that just confirmed that it was not a dream.
"Shit, shit, shit!" Luke cursed as he stood up to his feet and ran a hand through his hair as Caleb continued to knock the door on the outside.
"That knocking is really starting to get annoying," the AI said.
"Okay, just-just be quiet," Luke said as he rushed over to the door and put his hand on the doorknob, opening the door for Caleb to come rushing in.
"Bro, are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm perfectly fine," Luke lied. He wasn't fine. He was a wreck. Just a few hours ago, his entire life was changing and he had no say so whatsoever.
"You sure bro, you flaked on me last night and I tried calling your phone like 14 times and you didn't answer," Caleb said as he immediately walked towards the couch and plopped down on the cushions. Luke patted his pockets down to see if his phone was in his pocket but it wasn't.
"I'm sorry I probably misplaced it somewhere."
"And I didn't see your bike outside which is weird," Caleb said as he stood up and walked over to Luke's fridge as Luke was still trying to wrap his head around the past few hours.
"It got towed. Wait, a minute Caleb, what time is it?" Luke said as a frown came on his face.
"I don't know, like 12:30 or something," Caleb said as he peeked his head back up from the fridge.
"Shit," Luke said as he just remembered that he had an interview with WayneTech at their Midway City division to be a paid-intern. They had a few internships open in their R&D department which would give Luke a chance to get his name out and get some experience before he would try to start his own. He knew there was no chance in hell of his company ever reaching the level of Wayne Enterprises, Queens Consolidated, Kord Industries, Stagg Industries, AmerTek, STAR Labs, etc.
"What?" Caleb asked as he grabbed a cold bottle of water and an apple from the fridge and walked away from the fridge looking on as Luke was rushing around the apartment grabbing a set of clothes and quickly ran into the bathroom.
"I have an interview at one with WayneTech for an internship, speaking of which I need a ride," Luke said from the bathroom.
"It's at one?" Caleb asked, verifying the information he was told.
"Yes," Luke said before he began to start pushing his teeth as he tried to freshen up before his big-time interview.
"How far is it?"
"I don't know, maybe about twenty minutes give or take."
"I can get you there in twelve," Caleb said as he took a bite of the apple making Luke peep his head outside of the bathroom looking on with a confused frown.
A candy red Chevy Camaro came drifting in a 4 intersection in the down area of the city. The tires could be screeching as he drifted before pushing forward. Caleb had both of his hands on the steering wheel looking on with a smile on his face Luke looked on with a smile as well while he had a handle on the handle bar above his head.
The car pulled around to a tall building with the Wayne logo plastered on the side of the building. Luke put his hand on the door handle and pushed the door open before he quickly stepped out.
"I'll be around the corner at jitters, I'll give you a ride back bro," Caleb said as Luke closed the door and nodded. Caleb drove off as Luke took a deep breath and quickly walked inside the building sporting a pair of blue jeans with a pair of brown leather chelsea boots, a white button up and a black tie.
He walked into the building and quickly made a beeline for the receptionist desk.
"I'm here for the internship interview," he said to the blonde receptionist.
"Alright, have a seat over there, Mr. Yeager will be with you shortly," she said as she pointed to an area to her left. Luke turned his head to see what looked to be 15 people sitting and waiting for their interview for the internship. He knew if he waited for his chance to have a fair shot, it would be a slim chance of him actually getting the position.
He knew he had to do something to make himself standout.
"I downloaded the schematics on the way here. We may be able to skip the line if we take that elevator right behind her. Just ask her to use what you people call a restroom."
"Can I use your restroom?"
"Sure, thing it would be over here on the right, two doors down," she said as he nodded and walked as if he were walking around to the restroom but turned and walked towards the elevators, quickly and quietly. He pressed a button and looked up watching as the floor display read the floors. He watched the numbers go lower and lower until he read one. He watched as the doors opened with a "ding" noise before he stepped in.
"Shit," he cursed as he looked at the buttons thinking to himself which floor to pick. He didn't know the floor and picking the wrong floor could run the risk of him being caught. And if he got caught, he could kiss the internship goodbye.
"Take the elevator to the 25th floor."
Luke took a deep breath and pressed the button for the 25th floor. He looked on anxiously as he watched the doors close and felt the elevator slowly start to rise up making the anxiety levels in his body go up as he did so. He tapped his foot nonstop as the elevator went up. Before he knew it, the doors peeled open once again with a "ding".
He took a deep breath and walked out of the elevator to see a bunch of doors labeled with names.
"I believe I have miscalculated and sent you to the executive floor."
"Dammit, come on man. You're gonna get me in trouble!"
"Speaking of trouble, I'm picking up a heat signature just behind you."
Luke quickly ran from the elevator and went to an office door. He didn't know if it was empty or not but he didn't have time to examine and figure out if anyone was in the room or not. He simply walked in and quickly shut the door after himself and locked it in the process.
He panted for his breath as he leaned up against the door backfirst with his eyes closed.
"Who are you?" he heard a voice say, making him open his eyes to see a tall gentleman with a chiseled, jacked stature with a brown slick-back hairstyle and dark brown eyes with a light set of stubble in an expensive 3-piece suit.
"Oh my god! You're Bruce feakin' Wayne," Luke said, freaking out as he saw the billionaire CEO and Chairman of Wayne Enterprises in front of him. He was here for an interview but somehow he was able to meet Bruce Wayne, one of his heroes.
"Yes, I know who I am. But I asked, "Who are you?" Bruce said, walking around from his desk, standing just a few feet away from him.
"My name is Lucas Graves, I was here for an interview for the open paid internship position inside the R&D department."
"And that interview led you here?"
"Well, no. I-uh.. I was supposed to wait to be called but I figured that if I make myself known or I do something spontaneous I can stand out," Luke said as he ran a hand through his hair. Bruce chuckled as he shook his head.
"I admire that kid. Since you're here, we might as well go ahead and have that interview," Bruce said as he walked around his desk and took a seat. Luke smiled as he walked towards the desk and took a seat to get started on the interview of a lifetime.
Luke walked out of the office with a smile on his face. He went in nervous as hell for his interview and somehow came out with the position he was interviewing for after meeting one of his heroes, Bruce Wayne. The internship would allow him to work on the days that he wouldn't have class, which would be Monday and Wednesday, so he could work Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays from 9AM to 5PM, making a generous amount at twenty-five dollars an hour.
That was an insane amount for a twenty year old to be making while in college. And he would get to work in a department that interested him and would maybe allow him to learn more about what he hoped to do with his future.
He started to make his way over to the coffee shop known as Jitters when heard a loud pop come from the sky. He looked up in the direction that he heard the pop come from and was taken by surprise when he saw an android coming straight from the sky toward him and pushed him into a brick wall making him grunt as he hit the wall.
Luke rose up to a knee and looked up to see an android standing in front of him. The android scanned him with a green wave before the wave dissipated as the figure looked at him with glowing red eyes.
"Target acquired. Activating attack mode." The android said as it formed a canon with its right hand. The android formed a bolt of energy in its canon as it aimed it right at Luke.
"Commencing Defence Mode!"
The black and yellow armor suddenly covered his body and he quickly raised his arms in front of him forming a pair of energy shields. The android shot its beam towards Luke only for the bolt to bounce off the shields and strike it forcing it to stumble back a bit
"It seems as though our best way to defend ourselves would be to attack. Commencing Attack Mode!"
Luke rose up to his feet standing tall as a pair of energy blades had formed in place of the shields. Luke rubbed them together watching as sparks were flying onto the floor. Without any words being said, Luke simply jumped into fray to defend himself.
Alright so I have picked my casting for Batman. I believe when it comes to casting for stories it's entirely up to the author for who they envision as the character. For me personally, I envision Affleck and that's simply because he embodies what I like in the character. Affleck's Batman has the physical prowess of Batman in my honest opinion. While his Batman is not shown to be a tactician like Bale or a detective like Pattison, I believe that he embodies everything else so for me he's my Batman.
Casting:
Bruce Wayne/Batman portrayed by Ben Affleck
Amanda Waller portrayed by Octavia Spencer
