"Fitz you have to calm down, you'll give yourself a heart attack!"

"I don't give a damn, Olivia! He had no right to pay her a damn thing. And don't you dare try to protect him."

Blocking the front door so Fitz could not leave the apartment, Olivia was more concerned about his blood pressure skyrocketing after she told him about the money from Jerry every month going to Mellie. Fitz was more than furious that Jerry was paying her to look like the perfect political wife. Not that she could be. Mellie would never be able to fill the part of a perfect political wife. Hell, she couldn't even play the part of wife half the time.

"I'm trying to protect you from doing something stupid. I agree with you that him giving her money to be your wife was a bit ridiculous but now it's over. Or it will be over once the divorce papers are signed. Jerry will never give her another dime. And I'm looking into a way around the contract for him to stop before it's a legal divorce."

"There's a contract?"

"Um, yeah. They signed it right after he found out you married her." She watched him run his fingers through his hair before slamming his fist on the counter. "I know this isn't what you wanted, and it seems to be an issue for the divorce, but we can find a way through it. I will help you figure out what to do."

Fitz took a seat on the bar stool at the counter wanting to scream. "This is going to make her alimony payments go up. I'm going to have to pay her more money than what she already was going to get."

"Nothing is set in stone. Richards will know that you didn't know anything about this and that she has her own money. She has her own bank accounts."

"How could he do this? He hates Mellie, he should have been paying her to leave instead of paying her to stay. Damn him!"

Liv took the last few steps to him and wrapped her arms around him. "I don't know what he was thinking but he's going to stop. Jerry will stop paying her. And she's not getting any more money from him. I know you are very upset, but this is going to end. I promise. Sooner rather than later, this will end. You'll be free of her, just like you want to be."

Laying his forehead on her shoulder, Fitz wanted to believe that everything was going to work out in his favor but truly did not want to get his hopes too high. "Promise?"

"I promise that it will end soon. I don't make any other promises. I may have money, but I can't make everything work out."

"I suppose that's going to be the best I can do. At least for tonight." Shaking it from his mind for the time being, he gave her a kiss and leaned back to see her fully. "Did you two find a ring?"

"We did. I think Verna will love it. Jerry plans on asking her sometime this week. So hopefully by the time that you come back from your trip, they'll be engaged."

"Are you sure I can't convince you to come with me? I hate leaving you here alone all week to deal with work and my father."

Olivia laughed as she pulled him to the bedroom closet to start packing his things. "I can handle Jerry any time. And he's going to need me more than you will this week. You're going to be too busy schmoosing those lawyers anyway. You won't even notice that I'm not there."

"That, my dear Livie, is where you are a hundred percent wrong. I will notice your absence every second," he told her kissing the side of her neck as she pulled a couple suits off the closet rod. "Especially when I'm going to bed. Speaking of, Huck is coming over right? He'll be here all week?"

"I'm not having this fight with you again."

"I'm not fighting, I'm asking. Is it Huck or is it dad?"

"Huck will be here Wednesday night. And Jerry will be here Thursday."

"Monday and Tuesday?"

"I'll be by myself."

"Livie…"

"It just has to be that way. It's not a big deal, Fitz. I will get plenty of sleep when they come over later in the week and when you come home. Maybe I'll try the sleeping pills again. Who knows, maybe they will work this time. And even if they don't, it's only two days."

Helping her pack his things, Fitz got ready for the week of seminars he was giving. Trying to focus on his first speech tomorrow afternoon while lying in bed with Liv, all he could think of was how much he would miss her during the week. The seminars he was giving were ones he couldn't blow off like the last time and rush home to her. Fitz would have to spend the week away from her, much as he didn't want to.

Calling Henry in the morning, Fitz had convinced her to come with him to the airport then go to work instead of separating to go to work. Olivia sat at the terminal with him while they waited for his flight to be called.

"Will you miss me?" Fitz asked with a smirk on his face.

"Don't get all sappy on me," she laughed. "Of course, I'll miss you. But it's only five days. It's not like you're leaving for war or anything. You'll let me know when you land, right?"

"As if you weren't watching my flight status every minute. I will call you the minute I'm allowed to. Will you keep me posted on every single detail happening at the office?"

"Same as if you were there in the next room."

Fitz put his arm around her and kissed the top of her head. "I wish you'd come with me. Or I did not have to go."

"Me too. But it'll be fine. We'll call, and text, and facetime every chance we get."

"Promise?"

"I don't make promises. You know that."

"Flight 828 to Detroit, Michigan now boarding all first-class members," they heard over the intercom. "All first-class ticket holders please make your way to boarding."

Olivia sighed and looked up at him. "That's your page." She gave his hand a light squeeze as they stood up together.

"Yeah. You sure you don't want to come with?"

"You know I don't like to fly."

"Well, it was worth a shot. Alright, then, I suppose this is where we break for the week."

"I suppose so," she smiled and looked down at their hands laced together. "Call me when you land, okay?"

Leaning down, Fitz picked up her chin to make her look at him and gave her a hard kiss on her lips. Never wanting to break away from her, Fitz wrapped his arms around her picking her up off her feet. Loosing track of time, they didn't care though. They'd be apart for five days. Longer than they had been apart since they started dating two months ago.

"Last call for flight 828 to Detroit. All passengers, please make your way to boarding."

Olivia forced herself to pull away from his lips. "You have to go," she said, more reminding herself than him.

"I know." He handed the attendant his ticket before letting go of Liv's hand. "I'll call you in a few hours. Please try not to stress yourself out too much while I'm gone."

Laughing as she let go of his hand, "I will try. Have fun in Detroit."

"Right, we'll see about that."

Giving her one last smile before walking towards the plane he blew her a sweet kiss and a wink before turning his back to her.

"I love you, Fitz!"

Turning back to Liv, Fitz wanted to say something to her, but she was practically running to the exit back to Henry.

Waiting outside for her to come out, Henry had the door open ready to go. He'd just got her text when she came running out.

"Ms. Pope, is everything alright?" Henry asked seeing her walking much faster than he had ever seen before.

"It's fine, please just take me to the office."

"Yes, ma'am."

Sitting in the back of the car, Olivia hoped she was dreaming. It's just another nightmare. This has to be another nightmare. You did not just tell Fitz you love him, right? No, you wouldn't do that. You have to wake up. Wake up! Pinching herself harshly, she shook her head. Way to go, you stupid idiot! You told Fitz you love him and let him walk away. Did he walk away? Maybe he didn't hear you. That's it! Fitz didn't hear you, so he wasn't able to say it back. But what if he doesn't? What if he doesn't love me? How could he love me? I'm beyond broken and unfixable. Fitz would never love me. He's looking for a rebound. I'm that rebound. I can't believe those words came out of my mouth. I haven't said them to anyone since Stephen. I love Stephen. But I love Fitz just as much.

"Ms. Pope?" Henry lightly touched her arm, breaking her of her thoughts to look at him. "We're here." He motioned behind him to the office building as he held the car door open for her.

"Could I get a glass of red wine, please?" Fitz asked the flight attendant once they were in the air.

Fitz laid his head back thinking of Olivia as he drank the glass. She said she loves me. The thought made him smile more than he thought possible. Olivia Pope says she loves me. I love her. Of course, I love her! I can't believe I've never told her before now. Livie knows I love her. Doesn't she? I've shown her I love her. Surely, I must have told her. Did I tell her during one of our sexcapades? Hell, I don't think I have. No, no, don't think like that. Liv knows how much I love her. She just has to know. But I will have to tell her, say it out loud. The second we land I'm going to call her and tell her how much I love her. Damn, I miss her already. Once he was in the air and able to turn on his phone, Fitz placed an order to the office for her. Looking at the wallpaper of his phone, Fitz couldn't help the smile that appeared. His favorite picture of Liv asleep in bed with a slight smile on her face. He hoped it meant she was having wonderful dreams. I must have told her 'I love you' before. There's no way I couldn't have!

Heading towards her office, one of the senior attorneys caught sight of her coming by the conference room and stepped out to grab her.

"Ms. Pope," he called making her turn around. "Sorry to catch you so quick. We have a problem I think you'll be able to assist with. Could you bring Fitz in as well?"

"Mr. Grant is headed to Detroit for his conference. Let's see what I can do though." She followed him in and took a seat at the table with four other senior members. They slid her over a file to go through before discussing it fully. "Are you serious? She's suing the firm?"

The man at the head of the table turned to her, giving her his full attention. "I'm sorry we had to meet on these circumstances, Ms. Pope. I'm Michael Baldwin, head of the firm. It appears she is serious. Mrs. Grant has filed against us, suing the firm for theft. She's stating that we took money out of her bank account and put it in a new one."

"That money was in a joint account with her and her husband's names on it. She stole that money from Fitz when he filed for the divorce. She doesn't have grounds for this lawsuit. It's just a pathetic attempt to gain money," Liv told them. "She doesn't work, and Fitz has cut off her financial supply to that account. Accounting took care of it themselves." Closing the file, she gave it a moment of thought. "Tell her you'll be countersuing for the damages she did in my office, and she will drop this, I'm sure of it."

Mr. Baldwin smirked at the idea Olivia gave. "Do you think she'd fall for that?"

"Mellie doesn't have a law degree; she only knows what little Fitz has told her. She's run to Big Jerry like she always does when she has money problems, but he's cut her off too. This is nothing."

"Should we bring Fitz in on this?"

"I wouldn't worry him right now. He needs his attention in Detroit this week. I'll fill him in on this when he returns. As I said, this is nothing."

"If you're sure Olivia, we'll get the counterclaim drawn up and have her served."
