Saturday, instead of Giles doing a presentation, had everyone trekking to L.A to the company that would make their new armor.

Since it was going to take a few hours for everyone to be measured, it had been decided that they would stay overnight. Cordelia had rented 3 rooms for them. Xander and Cordelia had one room, which had Willow sort of gasping for a moment, before getting herself under control. She and Buffy each had a bed in another room. With Oz and Giles each taking a bed in the last. Giles understood, young people wanting some alone time and Oz was so quiet, he wasn't even sure he'd notice he was there. He was certain Xander would probably insist on watching television late and chatting incessantly.

Once everyone had checked in, they headed over. Cordelia knew her way around, even though it had been a few years since she had been there and led them through the L.A traffic, arriving on time.

They were ushered into two different rooms. Giles, Oz and Xander into one. With Cordelia, Buffy, Faith and Willow into another.

The guys measuring session didn't take that long, to their relief. The girls however, was more involved and thus took considerably longer. There were issues of what clothing the armor could fit under, and comfort to consider. But eventually all measurements had been completed and everyone headed back to the hotel.

After a discussion that pretty much amounted to 'Hell No' from the guys it was decided the girls would go shoe shopping with no pack mule assistance. Much to both Xander and Oz's relief. No one had bothered to even ask Giles.

When the girls returned it was already after dark. Xander was relieved to see Cordelia had only bought a few pair of shoes, as he been half convinced she would buy out the store.

After enjoying the new experience of making love in a motel room, they snuggled down together and were soon asleep.

Everyone luxuriated in the nearly forgotten pleasure of sleeping late and then enjoyed a leisurely brunch before heading back to Sunndydale, satisfied with the results of their weekend away.

Until the boys found out they'd have to go back next Saturday for a fitting and another shopping excursion.

Monday morning Snyder cornered the Scooby Gang. "Just the delinquents I've been looking for. You're helping sell Band Candy." He shoved a box in Buffy's direction.

"But I'm not in the band."

"Which would be a problem if I wanted you to play me a tune. Sell the candy unless you want detention from now untill Christmas. All of you."

Grumbling, they each grabbed a box.

Later during lunch Buffy was complaining about Giles and her mother both trying to schedule her life for her. "Between the two of them I'm scheduled 24 hours aday. I can't breathe."

"At least they notice you Buffy. I think my mother still thinks I'm 8. The clothes she buys for me may be sized right, but they're definitely better suited to a child, then a teenager."

"Buff, your mom's still a little freaked about everything. She probably feels like the worlds gone out of control or something and she just wants to feel like there's still something controllable in it. She'll calm down eventually and things will even out. You just need to give her some time to adjust."

"As for Giles, well he's just plain mad you lied about going on patrol when you didn't. And that Willow covered for you, which got Oz caught in the crossfire since the three of you were supposed to be going out together. If you ask me, Oz is the one who should be mad. He got hit with the shrapnel from that fall out."

"Hm." From Oz.

Which had Willow babbling an apology and Buffy also apologizing to him.

Later when the study hall teacher bailed on them, the group scattered with Xander and Cordelia taking advantage of the unexpected free to visit their favorite janitor's closet.

Xander had one of the bars and opened it. He was about to take a bite when Cordelia grabbed it from him and threw it the garbage.

"What did you do that for? That's perfectly good chocolate!"

"No it's not. Xander it smells bad, I think it's rotting or something."

"Gross, I've had a ton of it. I hope I don't get sick."

Later, after classes had let out for the day and everyone had finished homework and supper, Xander picked up Cordelia so they could meet the others at the Bronze.

"My stepmother is acting really weird, Xander. She broke into my closet and was trying on my clothes. She should know, there's an age limit on certain things."

Suddenly, she grabbed her head. "Oh gods, that is the weirdest thing!"

Alarmed, Xander slammed on the brakes and pulled over to the curb. "What Cordy, what's wrong?"

"Xander, I think I just had a vision. We have to get to the hospital. I just saw 4 vampires kidnapping babies!"

Xander didn't even hesitate. He immediately did a U-turn. "Call Giles." He said as they raced through a red light, praying there wasn't a cop around. 'My girlfriend had a vision,' would not go over well as an excuse, he was certain of that.

"Did it hurt? You grabbed your head, did it hurt?"

"No just weird to see pictures in my head. Giles isn't answering. Ooh! I am so going to have words with him. He agreed, we are not ever supposed to be out of contact with each other."

"Try the others." He said as he pulled into the parking lot of the hospital.

They hurried inside, as Cordelia speed dialed Buffy, then Willow. "Neither Buffy nor Willow are answering either. Something must be going on and they either forgot to call us or are too caught up in to be able to." She said as they exited onto the pediatrics floor. They were startled to see adults making out and others playing games.

They stared for a moment and Xander said, "If this is happening all over town, no wonder they haven't had a chance to call us, come on we've got to get to the babies."

Cordelia nodded, following behind him. It didn't take long to spot the vampires, four of them.

"Hey leeches," Xander called out, "didn't you hear the news bulletin, the hospital doesn't do take out."

The vampires turned towards them. One moved towards them, "I'll deal with them, you get the brats."

Xander stared hard at the vamp and suddenly a flame appeared on its chest, "what the," was all it had time to say before it was reduced to ash. The vampires looked startled, then charged him. Flames appeared on two more and then they were ash as well. Just then Buffy, Willow, Giles, Joyce and oddly Snyder appeared. Buffy grabbed the last vamp and was about to stake it when Xander called out, "Buffy wait, we need to know where they were taking the babies."

"If you think I'm going tell you blood bags anything..."

Xander approached him. "Oh, I think you will. You have until I reach the count of five to tell us where you were taking the babies." He held up a finger, "one," a flame hovered over the tip, "two, " another flame, "three".

"In the sewers, under City Hall!"

"Thank you," Xander reached out and set the vampire on fire. It was soon ash as well. He collapsed side ways, Buffy barely catching him.

"What happened, is he hurt?" Willow exclaimed.

Giles checked him over. "No, I believe he expended too much energy using his pyromancer ability. He exhausted himself, he will recover. In the meantime, we need to get to the sewers, see if we can deal with Lurconis."

"Who?" Cordelia asked as she pulled Xander from Buffy and held tight to him, scared.

"The adults going nuts tonight was a distraction. Ethan Rayne was hired to dose the band candy so the vampires could grab the babies, they're a sacrifice for a demon named Lurconis." Buffy answered.

"Okay, I'll look after Xander, you guys get Faith and deal with that thing."

They nodded and left.

Later, everyone gathered at Giles' for a quick meeting.

"So why where you guys at the hospital in first place?" Buffy asked. "I mean, we were there because we got Ethan to confess after we figured out the candy was responsible for the way the adults were acting and tracked it to the factory making it. But how did you guys know?"

"I had my first vision. We tried to call you, Giles and then Buffy and Willow, but couldn't get an answer. There wasn't time to try the rest of you because we ran into the vampires. Xander did his thing and you guys showed up."

"He woke up for a little while and I was able to get him home. He collapsed on my bed. I'll sit with him whenI back get back home. I didn't want to leave him, but I knew he'd want to know what happened. So if we could wrap this up fast, I'd appreciate it."

"We can go over everything in detail tomorrow, Cordelia. Go on home, everyone else too. We got the demon and the babies are safe.
