Cordelia woke the next morning, naked as usual, after transforming into a werewolf. She felt bad about having dropped Xander at their little house, alone, in his condition in order to meet with the others. She'd gotten back as quickly as she could. She was surprised to realize he was still laying just as she had placed him on the blanket she'd spread out before managing, with his barely coherent help, to get him to.

'He must have really drained himself trying to protect those babies,' she thought. She hated to wake him up, but they had to get to class. Luckily they'd been in his car, instead of hers, since he had all of their stuff in the trunk. Cordelia decided to let him sleep as long as she could. It would take him far less time then her to get ready. She went out to the car and popped the trunk. Pulling out the small table and folding chair she found there, she realized Xander must have gotten them for her, to make it easier for her to get ready. When she went back out a second time to get their bags, she spotted the mirror as well. "He's really being thoughtful.'

After showering and dressing, but before putting on her makeup, Cordelia shook Xander to wake him up. He groggily looked at her. "What?"

"It's time to get up, Xander, we have to get to class." She answered.

He slowly rolled over and pushed himself up, shakily getting to his feet. "Man, Giles is right, those tiny flames take a hell of a lot more concentration to control than just sparking a bigger flame. It's the first time I've managed more than one at a time too."

"No wonder you're so tired, you barely woke up enough for me to get you in here before you passed out again." She burrowed into his arms and said in a small voice, "you scared me."

He held her close, "I didn't mean to, honey, I promise. It's just, we needed to know about the demon, otherwise they might have tried again."

"I know, I'm not mad at you. I'm pretty tired myself actually, I can remember bits and pieces from last night when I was wolfed out. Giles did say in his presentation that people eventually do start to remember what happens when they're transformed. Wolf-me was worried too, she kept nudging you and trying to lick your face."

"Guess she's use to me responding and talking to her. I'll apologize to her tonight. I'd better shower and dress. Was it worth it, did they get the demon?" He asked as he walked toward the bathroom to shower, pulling off his clothes as he went.

"I knew you'd want to know, yes they did. They'll give us details later."

"Good, it's worth it then."

Xander quickly showered and dressed, before they loaded up the trunk and headed to school. Cordelia drove, as neither was sure he was really up to it yet.

During their free third period and lunch, they met up in the janitor's closet. Xander napping, while Cordelia kept watch, his head in her lap. It helped get him though the rest of the day, before she drove them over to the shop to meet the others. Hopefully the next two nights of her cycle would be less stressful.

When they arrived, they each took a seat at the table.

"How are you doing, Xander?" Giles asked.

"Still tired, but recovering. You were right, holding a tiny flame, especially right over my own skin is harder than making a spark at a distance. I'm pretty amazed I managed three of them. But, like I told Cordy, we needed to know where the demon was so it could be dealt with, otherwise they might have tried again."

"Agreed, you did a good job."

"Yah, Xan, that was neat," Buffy said.

Willow nodded, "but you passing out wasn't. That part was scary. Don't do that again."

"I'll try not to. I've just got to exercise it, get stronger so that doesn't happen again."

"Now, Cordelia, you said got a vision. Could you tell us about that."

"Well, it only lasted a few seconds, but it's like it's burned into my memory. It was like a moving picture in my head. I saw four vampires, game faces on, picking up babies, from those hospital type bassinets. Given how tiny the babies were and the bassinets, I knew they were at the hospital. I told Xander and we didn't waste any time, we drove over, while I tried to call you. When I couldn't get ahold of you, I tried Buffy and then Willow. There wasn't time to try Faith or Oz because we spotted the vampires. Xander did his thing, you showed up and the rest you know. What about you guys?"

"Well, Willow and I went to the Bronze and met Oz. Mom was acting weird and she let me drive her jeep. The Bronze was filled with old people acting like teenagers. We decided we needed Giles, so we headed over toward his place. We had an accident on the way. We saw people all over acting weird and eating the chocolate. We figured out the chocolate was responsible and got Snyder to tell us were it came from. He directed us to the factory. Giles and my mom were there. And no I'm not going to tell what they were doing."

"They were kissing."

"Willow!"

"Giles and Mrs. S?!"

"Ew"

"Continuing on," Giles said. "We discovered Ethan, who confessed he'd been hired to provide a big distraction so whoever wanted the babies, could get them without people noticing. He didn't know who the sacrificer was as he had been hired by someone working for them and hadn't bothered to ask questions. Ponce. He knew the demon the babies were to be sacrificed to, only because the person who hired mentioned it."

"But you got the demon, right?" Xander asked.

"Yah, Faith and I did a number on him. There was someone else there, human I think, in the shadows, who disappeared while we were dealing with it."

"Well, I don't think there's anything else we can do about whoever it is right now and Xander still looks like he needs rest. We might as well call it a job well done and all get some rest. We'll meet for some more exercises tomorrow."
