"Sometimes I wish there was one day here that was normal," Diana sighed, hanging her head.

"Why? What's happened?" Nico asked glancing at the girl. His question was soon answered.

"Diana! Sorry, I wanted to catch up with you earlier, but I had to stay after class." Jesper spoke standing to the corner of Diana.

Diana and company had just made it for lunch and sat down, when the boy approached. Although she had said she was fine with the boy and such, but everyday since he had been a bother. He'd follow her and try to talk to her between each of their classes. Not even to mention how he tried to track her down after dinner. Now she had two people to avoid! Why couldn't people leave her alone?

"Oh that's fine. We were just about to eat so, don't worry about it." The girl prayed that he'd take the hint and leave.

"Mate, that's girl for, it's time for you to leave." A new voice joined the party. Looking up, Diana saw that Sirius Black had joined the group.

'Who else is planning on disturbing our lunch?!' The girl mentally sighed.

"Just because you're some rich kid from a family of purebloods, doesn't-"

"Look Jesper, we can talk later okay? I think I see your friends looking for you!" Diana cut in. These Gryffindor boys had such tempers!

The blonde boy glanced at Diana and then Sirius, scoffing and turning away." I'll find you later Diana."

'Please don't!' The blonde girl mentally cried.

"Wow. Some people just don't know when they aren't wanted," Sirius shook his head, taking a seat across from the girl.

Amy had glanced at Diana in confusion, the blonde girl just shrugging in response. Was this James' doing? Looking around, the blonde girl found the boy sitting next to Lily eating lunch. Diana chose to ignore the pit in her stomach at seeing them together. As if sensing her, he looked up at her. Shocked at the sudden eye contact, Diana went back to talking with her friends and Sirius again.

"So what is that guys deal anyways?" Sirius asked.

"Well-"

"He's this creep that cornered Diana in an abandoned classroom the other day and basically confessed his love for her out of nowhere. And now, he won't leave my poor baby alone!" Amy cut in, reaching out and squeezing Diana's cheeks.

"He did what?!" Sirius looked at her in concern.

"Honestly, I feel like we don't even exist." Nico nudged the blonde girl in the side laughing at her aggressive nod.

For the rest of lunch, Sirius talked and cracked jokes with the group. He especially payed special attention to Amy. They both clicked and had practically flirted the entire time. Diana had to admit, he was alright, especially when he made a joke about one of the jokes him and the other boys played on one of the other teachers, which ended up backfiring with all four boys with getting their eyebrows shaved off for weeks.

"I can't believe James never told me about that!" Diana leaned over, clutching her sides. She had to wipe a few tears from laughing so hard.

"Oh trust me, James would implode if he knew I was telling you about this. He considers that time the worst in his history at Hogwarts, especially because all the girls had laughed at us anytime we went anywhere," Sirius laughed with us. He glanced over his shoulder where the James was sitting. Before looking at Diana pointedly, to which she just ignored it.

As they were leaving the hall after lunch, Sirius had tugged the girl forward, waving to Amy and Nico bye. "Actually Diana, can I ask you something while you head to class?"

"I don't think your really giving me an option here," Diana sighed defeated. She knew it was coming.

"Ah, so I assume you are at least somewhat self aware as to what I want to ask," Sirius bumped the girl with his arm.

"I can assume all I want, that doesn't mean I know," Diana tried to joke but it fell flat.

"Look, James is my best mate, and he really cares about you. So, why are you giving him the cold shoulder? If he did something wrong, I hope you know, he may take a while to get over the ego, but he will apologize."

"I know. It's nothing that he's done, it's me." Diana hesitated. "Listen, I truly value my friendship with James and thats why I think it best we have some space. It gives me a chance to sort myself out and make sure I don't ruin our friendship."

Sirius stopped short, mouth gaping like a fish, he recovered quickly, continuing forward like she hadn't just confessed to liking his mate. "I know you may think that's the best option for the both of you, but James isn't like that, this hurts him more. Plus, he would be lucky to have you," Sirius winked jokingly.

When they reached Diana's class, she turned to ask Sirius a question this time.

"Why are you choosing my side? James has been in love with Lily since they met, why support a girl you barely know?"

"Because I see what you've done for him since you met him. His grades have never been higher in potions and not just that but he's been happier. Plus, you know each other a bit more, James has known Lily a long time, but barely knows her as a person, he only knows what he sees." Sirius' expression was set and didn't waver once. "I'm cheering you on! See you later Harron!"

As Diana watched Sirius walk away, it helped clear her head a bit on what to do in her situation. Ignoring it obviously wasn't helping either of them and she did miss the boy dearly.

'I will fix this awkward mess I've put us in! Maybe I will be able to show him that I'm here too, Lily isn't your only option.' Diana mentally pepped herself up.

When it came time for their potions class, Diana wanted to chicken out, all her earlier bravado gone. 'At this point, he probably hates me. I wasn't very fair to him.'

Walking into class was easy, as the bespectacled boy wasn't there yet. Diana took her seat and began thrumming her fingers against the desk in nervous energy. Before, it was effortless because she kept her answers short and made sure their conversations stayed on the topic of their project. But now she was trying to initiate conversations again, and that was scary.

Diana's mental spiral was cut short when James arrived to class, only a few moments before it was supposed to begin. However, something seemed a little off about him, he avoided looking in her direction at all and his whole body was tensed.

Diana grew nervous that Sirius had said something to James and that was the reason for his agitation. There was only one way to find out for sure though.

"Hey James?" Diana tried meekly.

"Yes Harron, what is it?" James turned to her, though he was still tense.

"Would it be okay if we hung out after class today?" The blonde felt as if she were dealing with a cornered animal, there was no way to tell what his reaction might be.

"Yeah that's fine. The library?" James asked, his voice was curt and Diana tried not to flinch. James usually had a warm and inviting aura and voice when he talked to people, even when he was in a bad mood, so the change made her sad.

"Yes! Same time as usual."

The rest of the class was spent in silence unless necessary, neither breaking the ice to get back to their usual easy flow of conversation. Diana hoped that trying to get them back into their old grove was the best way to help mend what she caused. Maybe today was not the day, based on James current mood. She would have to wait and see what will happen when the time comes.
