I can tell you all do not want her to get with Dave again...

Dave and I sat down on the balcony at Harry's and he had them bring us mojitos. I could tell if he was ordering mojitos then it was serious.

"What's going on, big guy?" I asked him and he gave a half smirk at my old nickname for him.

"Charlotte and I broke up. She said she didn't see us going anywhere." He said and I knew that he really liked her.

"Did you ask her to quit the club?" I asked him because I knew that he asked me to step away while we were dating so he could have more of my time.

"No, I didn't." He said with a chuckle.

"She said our age gap was too much. I already saw her out with someone else anyways." He said as they brought our drinks. I put my hand over his. Dave had some interesting relationships before me and I was his longest relationship so I was hopeful for him.

I sat with him a little longer as we had a few drinks. He was glad I was with Dexter. We talked about business and random things before he had a meeting. He wouldn't let me pay.

I walked back to the club and checked on everything. I was meeting Dexter at the winery for dinner tonight.

Dexter POV

Jodi met me at the winery that night. She looked beautiful as she came upstairs. She walked over and kissed me as I stood by the small bar.

"You look amazing, Princess." I said and she smiled at me.

"Thank you." She said as I sat us down at my private table on the back balcony.

"How was Dave?" I asked her as they brought us wine.

"He's sad...he and Charlotte broke up." She said. I Fuck, I hope he's not trying to move back onto Jodi. I sat there and she put her hand over mine.

"He can't even compete with you." She said and I smirked because she knew what I was thinking. I leaned over and kissed her.

We had a nice night before I had to head to Mom's in Jacksonville. I had agreed to go to a breakfast meeting with her. I didn't want to leave Jodi, but she knew family was important to me.

Jodi POV

I got up the next morning, went for a job, and went to go do paperwork at the club. I walked up and Michael was standing outside his car in the parking lot. It was barely 9am and he was here already.

"Michael?" I said and he looked up from the phone.

"I prefer Wardlow." He said with a smirk.

"Wardlow... what are you doing here so early?" I asked him and he sighed. I glanced behind him and realized something awful.

"Are you living in your car?" I asked him and he looked embarrassed.

"Come on, I think we could both use coffee." I said and he nodded before following me into my office. I started some coffee and grabbed something out of my desk.

"Come with me, please?" I asked him and he nodded as he followed me. I walked up to the third floor and unlocked the door. I opened it and motioned for him to go in.

"My dad's best friend was an alcoholic and in order to help him he let him live up here. He did small maintenance around the place, helped with deliveries, and kept an eye on the place when we weren't open. It's got a bathroom, small kitchen area, and you can do laundry at my house. Stay as long as you want or until you get on your feet. You still get two days off, and can come and go as you please." I said as I held out a key on a keychain. The small studio had a fridge, range top, bed, sofa, and a TV. I hadn't used it in a few years but it was still good.

"Jodi..." he said and I held up my hand to stop him.

"Coffee is probably done and then you can move stuff up." I said and he hugged me. I was taken back, but chuckled. We went back downstairs and I poured us coffee as we sat in my office.

I learned about him, where he was from, and why he ended up in Florida. He was a really nice guy, and he seemed to just need a break. I started to work on my paperwork as he moved his few bags of things upstairs.

"Jodi!" A voice yelled and I already knew it was Becky. I chuckled and looked up to see her come flying into my office.

"Yes?" I asked her as I sat in my lap.

"Lunch?" She asked me and I chuckled.

"Absolutely." I said as she got up and I told Elias I was leaving.

We walked over to Pizza Time to pick up some slices and sit on the sea wall. We were talking about anything and everything. It was nice to catch up.

"Who was muscles?" She asked me and I looked at her for a second before I realized she was talking about Wardlow.

"Wardlow. He's security and living in the top." She said and looked surprised.

"He confided in me something's and he could use an extra bit of help." I said and she nodded.

"If I was single and Seth didn't exist... I would offer to help him a lot." She said and I laughed laughing so hard.

"I get it." I finally said because honestly... he did look good.

We talked until it was time for her to go back for her shift. I changed and went back to the club. Dexter was staying in Jacksonville another night. I didn't want to sit at home so I was backstage and bartending as needed.

"You working tonight?" Cash asked me when he got there and I nodded.

"Great, I need a dance partner." He said and I looked at Him strange. I quickly checked my phone and Charlotte wasn't coming tonight. I sighed and gave in.

"Thank you, Jodi." He said with a chuckle as I grabbed Becky to help me change. I had a feeling tonight was going to be real interesting.
