Thanks for reviewing!
My dance with Cash went well and half the time were just fucking with each other to see who would mess up, but we made it. I got backstage and were laughing so hard at each other.
"I think I need a fire pit night." he said and I nodded.
"I need one too... now get me out of this thing." I said and he chuckled as he followed me to where I had changed. Cash and I had a long relationship and I trusted him with everything so I knew that he wouldn't try anything stupid again. He unlaced me and went to change. I was glad to be out of that corset. I hadn't gained weight, but whatever weight I gained in my breast from when I was pregnant never actually went away.
I walked out to the bar to check on everyone and two women wanted to buy me a shot because they loved the dance so much. I finally accepted, comped the rest of their drinks, and went to check on backstage. I had already sent Elias home since Johnny and I were both there. I was sitting with the guys, catching up, and solving any problems that came up.
"It's nice to have you backstage again." Finn said as he and Roman were sitting with me.
"Thanks, I know that I need to be present more." I admitted and they chuckled.
"We know it's Dexter's fault." Dean said as he walked by and I chuckled. He had agreed to do a special set tonight.
"I miss your cooking." Roman admitted and I smirked. I made a mental note to be more present and bring back my crockpot meals.
I had fun with the guys tonight, worked the bar some, and finally helped them close it down. I was sitting with Johnny working on tips when I got three back-to-back text and looked at Johnny weird because he heard my text tone. I picked up and looked at it.
I'm sorry, Jodi... I thought this would be better coming from me. ~ Dave
I also saw two pictures of Dexter with some woman who was not his mother or his ex-wife. The first picture they were talking over drinks and the second one it was no mistaking that they were kissing. I sighed and showed Johnny.
"Fuck, that's Liv. She's an old friend of ours." he said and I nodded.
"He told me he was in Jacksonville to take care of business." I said with a heartless chuckle... I figured out what business he had now.
Thanks... why are you in Jacksonville?~ Jodi
I'm not... that's at Tini Martini.~ Dave
I felt so much fucking rage at that moment as I showed Johnny and all he could do was shake his head. He was in town and cheating on me.
"Can you close up?" I asked him and he nodded as I started out. I could hear him yelling after me, but I didn't care. I was going to confront that motherfucker.
Cash POV
I was grabbing my stuff when Johnny came to find me. Dax was with me as we were catching up before he headed home to his wife.
"You have to go stop Jodi." he said and I looked at him strange. Dax and I also shared a look. I was supposed to hang out with Jodi.
"Just go get her before she gets to the Tini Martini bar." he begged and I dropped everything as I headed out the back door.
I found her marching past the Hilton before the bar and I grabbed her arm. I pressed her against the wall as she struggled against me.
"Whatever it is... it's ok." I reassured her because I had no idea what she was actually going to do.
"No, he's there with a whore when he told me that he was in Jacksonville with family." she hissed at me and I realized that Dexter was cheating on her.
"Jodi, I'm sorry, but confronting them only makes you look like the bad guy." I told her and she sighed as I saw her looked over. She had a surprised expression and I glanced over to see Dexter walking this way I quickly covered Jodi's body with mine and kissed her. I knew that him seeing her right now would only make things worse. I was more surprised that she didn't fight me as she returned the kiss. I finally pulled away and glanced to my left to see Dexter well past us. I grabbed Jodi's hand and she wordlessly walked with me back to her home. I may have stopped her from making an idiot of herself, but that didn't stop the pain she was feeling.
We got back to her house and my bags were on her porch. I grabbed them after unlocking her door and pushing her inside. She walked out to her back porch and sat down. I followed her as I grabbed a bottle of vodka and a small bottle of juice. I sat it down on the small table as Jodi was sitting in a chair staring out into space. I opened the vodka bottle and nudged her arm with it. She took it wordlessly and took a shot. I handed her the juice as she handed me the vodka back and did the same.
"I'm sorry." I finally said and she chuckled.
"Me too." she finally said and looked at me. I could see tears in her eyes. I pulled her from her chair into my lap as she laid her head on my shoulder.
"If it makes you feel better... my date with Bayley was a bust. I can only hear about her cat so many times." I mumbled and she chuckled.
"We suck at relationships." she said and I chuckled.
"No, we just haven't found the right people, and since we value our friendship we know it's not each other." I said as I pressed a kiss to her temple. I had always wanted it to be her, but we both knew that no matter how much we liked each other we needed a best friend.
"True." she said.
Dexter POV
I was sitting at home when Johnny called me. I told him to come over and he was there a few minutes later. He walked in and looked pissed.
"What's going on?" I asked him and without warning he punched me right in the cheek. I felt the crack and stumbled back. He may be short, but he had power.
"What the fuck, Johnny?" I asked him as I held my face.
"Jodi got a picture of you kissing Liv tonight. You told her you were in Jacksonville, but instead you were in town kissing someone else." he said and I felt my eyes go wide. I had met Liv, an old friend, at Tini Martini and she got drunk. She kissed me, and someone got the picture. I should have known not to meet her, but we used to be such good friends. I guess I was the dumb one for believing that one.
"I will be surprised if she takes you back this time." he said and walked out without another word. I grabbed an ice pack and held it to my face as I sat on my couch. Fuck, I had possibly lost Jodi again.
