A/N: I only own the OC.
Thanks for reviewing!
I got up and went to the club. I was putting stuff in the crockpot when I heard footsteps. I had actually forgotten about Michael, and hoped I didn't wake him up. I hadn't slept yet. Cash tried to get me to, but my mind was filled with too many thoughts... none of them were good thoughts. He left around 4am and I sat up thinking too much. I finally went over to the club around 8am.
"Morning." He said and handed me a cup of coffee. I chuckled and accepted it. I had forgotten I had left dishes up there because I hadn't seen this mug in years. I was surprised to see him come down in just shorts... and he was in shape. He could be a dancer if that was his thing. He definitely took care of himself.
"Sorry if I woke you. I didn't realize what time it was. I'm kind of in my own thoughts." I said as he made a face. I couldn't figure out why til I tried the coffee.
"Oh this is bad. Come on, I have better coffee." I said he chuckled as we poured the mugs out in the sink.
"Sorry, I found it in the office." He said and I waved it off.
"Leave the mugs, and come on." I said and he did as I said. He turned to go upstairs and I stopped him.
"We are literally walking across the parking lot." I said and he looked really confused.
"You live next to here?" He asked me as we walked out and locked up.
"Behind it." I said and he looked so confused as we went through the grown up gate and then he looked surprised.
"My dad owned both of these." I said as he walked in behind me. I started a pot of coffee and found him looking around.
"Aren't you worried because you don't really know me? What if I'm a bad guy?" He asked me and I chuckled.
"Are you?" I asked him as I poured him the first cup and he chuckled.
"No." he finally said and took the mug.
"Then just tell me if you see any." I said and he smirked as I showed him where the sugar was if he wanted that or milk. I grabbed my coffee and he followed me out to my back porch.
"Why are you being so nice?" He asked me after a second.
"Because everyone needs a friend every now and then, and I get how it feels to be in a bad spot in life. I also know that everyone needs a friend." I said as he gave a small smile.
"To friendship." He said and clinked his mug with mine. We were talking about different things when someone rang my doorbell. I groaned and he chuckled.
"You really don't sleep." He said and I chuckled. He walked in with me and put his mug in the sink.
"Thanks for the coffee." He said and I nodded. I opened the door to see Dexter standing there... kind of the last person I wanted to see. He had a nice shiner and I wondered who else he fucked with last night.
Dexter looked from Michael to me and pursed his lips. I already knew where he was going in his mind.
"Dexter, this is Michael, he's my newest security person. He replaced you." I said and Michael stuck out his hand to Dexter. I knew he didn't know the history there, but I was thankful when Dexter shook his hand.
"Nice to meet you." Dexter finally said and Michael stepped past him.
"See ya tonight." Michael said and I waved as he walked back through the gate. I was leading on the doorframe as I looked at Dexter.
"I think we need to talk." He finally said and I sighed.
"Do we? I feel as if you already made your choice." I said and he sighed.
"She kissed me. I didn't go home with her, I didn't fuck her..." he was saying and I cut him off.
"Dexter, you told me you were in Jacksonville, so imagine my surprise when I get a text that was a picture of you kissing some woman at the Tini Martini Bar." I said and he pursed his lips.
"Jodi..." he said and I shook my head.
"I need time." I said and he rubbed the back of his neck. I could tell he was upset, but so was I. We had been drifting apart lately and all he wanted lately was sex.
"I..." he was saying and I stopped him again.
"Let me rephrase... Leave." I said and he sighed.
"Jodi, you are the one who wanted us to talk about everything and be honest." He said and I raised my eyebrows at that comment.
"Say that last part again... slowly." I said and he pursed his lips. He knew that I had just caught him in a stupid statement as well as a lie.
"How much time do you need?" He asked me and I chuckled.
"As much as I want. You lied... again. I am not sure if I want to deal with you again. I guess I can let you know and if you are still single we can talk... whenever that is." I said.
"I will wait for you." He said and I nodded.
"Goodbye, Dexter." I said and kissed his cheek before walking back inside and shutting the door. I didn't even feel like crying... I just wanted some sleep.
Johnny POV
I was at work that night with Wardlow when Jodi walked in. I was surprised to see her after her issue with Dexter.
"Hey, you ok?" I asked her as she sat in the office. Wardlow excused himself and she gave a small smile.
"I guess. I told Dexter I wanted some time." She said and I nodded. I wasn't surprised.
"I'm sorry." I said and she shrugged.
"I just want to thank whoever his him." She said and I chuckled.
"That was me. I confronted him last night, and I'm sorry if you didn't want me to. I was pissed at how he was treating you. He opened the door last night and I just hit him." I said as her eyes got wide.
She launched herself onto me in a hug. I chuckled and hugged her back. Jodi and so had been friends since she took over, and while I was Dexter's friend... she deserved better. Liv was an old friend, and had always had a crush on Dexter... he knew what he was doing. He made that choice to lie to Jodi.
"Thank you." She said as she pulled away.
"Yep, Candice even said he deserved it." I said and she chuckled. We were talking when Roman and Austin came by. I was glad she was at the club tonight... she needed to be around friends.
Cash POV
Jodi was hanging out at the club and I found her in the office. I walked in and shut the door. She looked up surprised and motioned to the seat.
"I am sorry if I kissed you last night against your wishes." I said and she chuckled.
"I appreciate you respecting my boundaries, but I'm not mad. You did what you thought was right in that moment, and I'm glad you did. It probably would have been worse if I had confronted him then and there." She said. I was glad she didn't get mad. She had gotten mad the one time I had kissed her and I didn't want to go through that again. Jodi was my best friend, and while I had deep feelings for her I had learned to appreciate that she was my best friend.
