A/N: I only own the OC

Thank you for reviewing! I can tell most of you are torn.

I went into the club for the first time in a over a week. I needed to get some paperwork done. I started some food for the guys, and went to my office. I found an envelope on my desk. I put it in my bag and went to work on paperwork, paying bills, and setting up events.

"Are you supposed to be here?" Elias said as he walked up to my door. I chuckled and nodded yes.

"I am so tired of sitting on my couch." I said and he chuckled.

"I'm glad you're alright." He said and I nodded.

"Me too." I said. I wasn't scared of walking in my hometown, but I would be carrying a knife or pepper spray now.

I talked to Elias for awhile and finally got told to go home around the time for the lunch crowd. I went home and sat my bag down at the table. Michael was out, and worked tonight so I wasn't sure when I would see him. I saw that envelope sticking out of my bag, and remember I never opened it.

Congrats... you own your boyfriend.

I read and opened the other paper. I found a contract between Michael and someone name Friedman. The contact started that Michael would fight in the underground fights outside of St Augustine... worst kept secret in the town because everyone knew they were going on.

I read the contact and realize Michael had agreed to fight 15 fights since the last year. He had been in town for longer than he had told me he had been. He had been under contact and would get paid 2000 per fight. I was confused as to why he was working for me if he had this contract. I sighed and wanted to go for a walk.

I put on my sling and went for a walk. I wound up in front of the winery. I knew I had nothing to lose as I walked in. I was recognized and given a private table. I insisted a normal table, but they didn't listen.

I was sipping some sparkling wine when someone appeared at my table... it was Dexter. I shouldn't have been surprised.

"Jodi, are you alright?" He asked me and I nodded.

"Yeah, just thinking." I said and he nodded.

"Join me if you aren't too busy?" I asked him and he smirked. He motioned for another glasses. He poured himself some and sat down with me.

"You don't have a shadow so I take it you walked here?" He asked me and I smirked.

"Um, as of right now... you are the only person who knows I'm here." I admitted and he shook his head.

"Dexter, don't." I warned him and he gave me that knowing look.

"Princess, I just don't want you hurt again." He said and I sighed.

"Don't call me princess... it's too confusing." I admitted and his brows knitted together in confusion.

"Do you prefer poppet? Or girlfriend?" He asked me and I sighed.

"Don't be cheeky." I said and he smirked. I was confused and coming here did not help.

"Ya know what... it was a bad idea to come here." I said and Dexter looked alarmed. He could obviously tell I was upset.

"I didn't mean to upset you." He mumbled and I shook my head.

"It's not you..."I said and he slowly nodded.

"Who is it?" He asked me and now I had to make a decision... was I really going to confide in an ex boyfriend about the issues with my current boyfriend. I did it with Dave, but Dave and Dexter were on whole different levels.

Becky POV

I walked over to Jodi's and found her on her porch while looking very depressed.

"Hey." She said when she looked up to see me.

"What's going on, J?" I asked her and she sighed. She got up and went inside. I followed her and found her holding a piece of paper in her hand. I gently took it from her and read it. She was holding a contract that meant Michael was a fighter and now hers?

I looked from the paper to her. She shrugged as she took it back.

"Are you mad?" I asked her and she shrugged.

"I really like Michael but I am beginning to think more and more we are in opposite places in life." I admitted and she nodded. I got ready to say something when Michael walked in. I knew she needed to talk to him so I hugged her and excused myself.

Michael POV

I walked in to find Becky and Jodi talking. Jodi looked worried. I put my stuff on the table and walked over to her. I kissed her forehead and looked at her.

"What is it?" I asked her. She held up a piece of paper and I took it. I was confused about what she was handling me until I opened it. My eyes got big and I had no idea how she got this. I looked back at her.

"Why do you have this?" I asked her and she chuckled.

"It doesn't matter... I am just curious as to why you lied to the person who has been helping you." She said and I sighed.

"Ok, yes, I did get into town before I told you, but everything else was the truth. I left Ohio because of my ex and no job. I was homeless when I met you, and I nothing that has happened between us has been a lie." I said and she nodded.

"I know who Friedman is... I grew up here... he's a hardcore asshole. I am not dumb enough not to think that he didn't hire someone to hurt me to get to you." She said and I felt my stomach drop.

"Jodi..." I said and she cut me off.

"For the rest of this conversation act as if you are talking to someone who isn't a fucking idiot." She said and I pursed my lips but nodded.

"Ok, yes, I know he had something to do with it." I admitted and she nodded. She got ready to say something when someone knocked on the door. She sighed and went to get it. I walked out to see who it was when I felt myself become glued to the spot... Friedman was standing in Jodi's house.

"Michael, I would like to introduce you to my cousin, Max." She said and he chuckled.

"Apologies again, cuz... I didn't know it was you. I have taken care of that person. You are officially off limits." He said and she nodded.

"So, you invited me to talk about him?"he asked her and she nodded. She held up the contract and my eyes got huge.

"You see, Michael, I am a businesswoman... so I know a good deal. You are worth more than you realize." She said.

"Jodi... come on..." I was saying when he cut me off.

"I'll buy him back at what I was paid for him." He said and she looked interested.

"Jodi..." I begged. I did not want to go back to fighting.

"I will make you a deal... you leave right now since I honestly don't know who you are... and I will pay him to leave you alone. You have 1 hour to get out of that apartment. Do we have a deal?" She asked me and I was shocked.

"Jodi, please..." I said.

"I have done a background check on you and I know you aren't who you say you are. You have 10 seconds before I give you back to him." She said and I sighed. I had moved to St Augustine to try and avoid my past but because I was an idiot here it was catching up to me again.

Jodi POV

I didn't want to deal with Michael anymore. I had found out that he had a record from Ohio that had numerous assault and theft charges and even though he had never hurt me I wasn't willing to take a chance

"Fine." He said and I looked at Max. He nodded and Michael hung his head before leaving without another word.

"Nice to see you again, cuz." Max said and I chuckled.

"Let me get you dinner since my people were fucking idiots." He said and I chuckled but nodded.

I told Johnny to get the key from Michael and walked with Max to Harry's. Dave was there when we got there and we needed up joining him and one of his friends. I was glad to catch up with Max, Dave and make a network with someone new. We got finished and Max headed back to his house. I walked back to the winery. I needed to apologize to Dexter.
