A/N: I only own the OC
Thank you for reviewing! You all are awesome!
Dexter POV
I was nervous about tonight. I missed Jodi, and now I had the chance to make it up. I had been an idiot and somehow fate had given me a second chance. I had everything already at the house for dinner.
I drove to her house and knocked on the door. She opened the door in a dress, sandals, and her hair was down. I hated that she was still wearing the bandages from that dumb fuck.
"You look beautiful." I said and she smiled at me. She grabbed her clutch, and I helped her lock the door. I helped her down the stairs and opened the door for her to slide in. I got in and headed towards my house. Traffic was a little heavy, but nothing too bad. I absentmindedly reached over and grabbed her hand as I drove. I didn't realize it until we pulled into my driveway... but I realized she never pulled away.
I helped her out and we went inside. I had roses everywhere, and she gasped.
"I wanted it to be perfect for you tonight." I said and she gave a small smile.
I had ordered food from her favorite Chinese restaurant. Johnny had picked it up, and put it in the oven for me. He had put it on warm so we didn't have to eat right away. I told him that Jodi and so we're having dinner... and he was more than happy to help.
"Come on, let's go outside and have some wine." I said and she nodded as I helped her outside. I had a white wine chilling for us. I grabbed it and two glasses before going back out to join her.
I poured us each a glass and sat beside her. I turned on some soft music and she rest her head on my shoulder.
"To whatever this is." She said and I chuckled because that's what we had said the night before. We finished our glasses and I pulled her to her feet. I changed the song to Al Green's 'Let's Stay Together'. She chuckled as we began to sway to the music.
Jodi POV
I was dancing with Dexter as he started to sing to me.
Let's, we oughta stay together
Loving you whether, whether
Times are good or bad, happy or sad
Come on
Let's, woo let's stay together
Loving you whether, whether times are good or bad
I looked at him and he was looking down at me with those crystal blue eyes. I bit my lip and he chuckled. I'm
"Don't bite it off, Princess. I'll have nothing left to kiss." He whispered before pressing his lips to mine. I moaned and wrapped my arms around him. He was what I was missing. He pulled away and looked at me.
"I have missed you." He whispered as he nuzzled his nose against mine.
"I am sorry I didn't listen." I said and he kissed my forehead.
"I'm sorry I fucked up first." He whispered and kissed my temple.
"Can we try this again?" He asked me.
"Only if you feed me because I'm starving." I said and he chuckled.
"Sit and I'll get the food." He said and I chuckled.
Dexter POV
I was so relieved that Jodi wanted to give us another chance. I grabbed all the food, plates, and brought it outside. Jodi chuckled as she saw what I had. I grabbed chopsticks, forks, spoons, and some napkins. I served her a plate and then myself.
"Thank you." She said and I kissed her cheek.
"I wanted you to enjoy dinner." I said and she nodded.
"I would have no matter what because I'm with you." She said and I felt myself smile. I poured us more wine and we ate dinner. The sun started to go down, and I turned on the white lights I had hung up for tonight. She gasped and smiled.
We finished up and I handed her a fortune cookie. She opened it and read it.
Jodi POV
Dexter had made everything perfect tonight from the music, to the food, and the lights. He handed me a fortune cookie and I opened it.
Marry me~ Dexter
I read it and re-read it. Was this a mistake? I looked up to say something to Dexter to find him on one knee in front of me while holding up a beautiful emerald cut diamond set with two smaller diamonds on each side with a white gold band.
"Dexter?" I said and he looked up at me.
"I have been miserable without you. I fucked up, and I know it. I wanted nothing more than to tell you that I love you everyday. I wanted to make your bad days better. I wanted to fall asleep with you in my arms; but most of all... I just wanted to be able to call you my wife. I know you are my future, Jodi. Will you please just be my wife?" He asked me. I was surprised. I know that he had asked his Dad for a ring before we broke up, but I didn't know he still felt that way.
"Jodi?" He asked me and I realized I hadn't answered him yet.
