Red's insistent knocks echoed through the apartment, each one growing more urgent. "Snow, come on! We'll be late for the carnival," she exclaimed, her voice filled with a mix of excitement and impatience.
Startled by Red's persistent knocking, Snow quickly finished fastening the last buttons of her light pink dress. The soft fabric cascaded around her, its delicate hue complementing her radiant smile. With a final adjustment of her hair, she rushed towards the door, her anticipation mounting.
As she swung the door open, Red's eyes widened with delight at the sight of Snow's stunning attire. "Wow! Snow, looks like this Graham guy really made an impression on you."
"Thanks, Red. YOU just made my day," Snow remarked, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
Red came up with the only thing she could come up with.
"OKAY! Okay, let's just go."
In the moonlit night, Snow and Red found themselves standing outside, their excitement for the carnival overshadowed by frustration.
"Can you believe it, Red? Your friend just ditched us at the last minute," Snow exclaimed, her voice laced with annoyance.
Red sighed, sharing Snow's frustration. "I know, Snow. I'm just as upset as you are. We had everything planned, and now this."
Out of nowhere, Graham appeared, offering Snow and Red a ride in his car.
"You guys need a ride?"
Red, feeling the urgency to get to the carnival, impulsively responded, "Yes, We do."
However, Snow quickly intervened, raising her hand and signaling to Red. "Hold on, Red. I've got it covered. I actually booked an Uber."
Red paused, her eyebrows furrowing in surprise. She looked at Snow, a mix of confusion and curiosity evident on her face. "You did? When?"
Snow's lips curved into a forced smile, her frustration simmering beneath the surface.
"You wish to go or not?"
After a leisurely stroll, Snow and Red finally arrived at the carnival, their anticipation building with each step. The illuminated entrance greeted them with a kaleidoscope of colors, beckoning them into a world of excitement and thrills.
As they crossed the threshold, the vibrant atmosphere enveloped them like a warm embrace. The sights and sounds of the carnival came alive before their eyes, filling them with a sense of wonder and joy. The dazzling lights of the Ferris wheel illuminated the night sky, casting a mesmerizing glow over the lively scene.
Laughter and cheerful chatter echoed through the air, creating an ambiance of infectious happiness.
Stalls lined the pathways, offering a variety of games and delectable treats. Colorful balloons bobbed in the hands of children, adding an extra touch of whimsy to the scene. The aroma of freshly popped popcorn, sizzling hotdogs, and sweet cotton candy wafted through the air, teasing their senses and tempting their taste buds.
As Snow and Red ventured through the bustling carnival, they stumbled upon a charming ice cream stand.
As they indulged in their icy treats, Snow and Red's conversation took on a lighthearted tone. Their laughter intermingled with the joyful ambiance of the carnival, creating a symphony of mirth.
"So, what did you tell this Graham guy."
"No! Of course. After all, I'm with Andrew now."
"And what did Graham say"
"Andrew called. So, I had to leave."
"And after THAT, he came to offer you a lift. The guy literally has 0% self-respect."
"Yes but he's not the one I'm here to talk about."
"Why? Did Romeo do something wrong?"
"He can not even if he tried. I mean…Just that I haven't heard from him ever since that scene we did together and from that time, I'm going crazy and I just really really would love to see him here right now, thats how crazy I'm going."
As Snow's words hung in the air, she turned expectantly to face Red, her eyes filled with anticipation. But instead of a response, a deafening silence greeted her. The absence of Red's voice weighed heavily on her, amplifying the sense of unease that had settled in her chest.
Her heart skipped a beat, a wave of apprehension washing over her. She called out Red's name, her voice tinged with worry, but the only response was the distant sound of carnival music and laughter. Panic began to claw its way up her throat, constricting her voice.
Snow's head spun, her eyes darting in every direction, searching for a glimpse of her friend. The vibrant carnival atmosphere seemed to blur around her, the joyful cacophony transforming into a disorienting symphony of uncertainty. With each passing moment, her concern deepened, overshadowing the once festive ambiance.
She took hesitant steps forward, her movements becoming more frantic as she traversed the bustling crowd. Whispers of doubt echoed in her mind, conjuring up worst-case scenarios. What if something had happened to Red? The mere thought sent shivers down her spine, intensifying the knot of fear that coiled in her stomach.
Snow's hands trembled as she reached out to touch strangers' shoulders, her voice growing more desperate with each plea for information. But her inquiries were met with bewildered shrugs and apologetic shakes of the head. Red seemed to have vanished into thin air.
The minutes stretched into an agonizing eternity as Snow's search persisted. Her gaze swept over every corner, every shadow, but there was no sign of her friend. The weight of the unknown pressed down upon her, suffocating her with a mixture of anxiety and dread.
With each unanswered call, Snow's frustration mounted, mingling with a deep-seated fear that threatened to consume her. She felt a surge of anger at the carnival's cheerful facade, a sharp contrast to the turmoil that churned within her.
This carnival immediately turned into the worst carnival from the best one she was experiencing.
She turned, her voice cracking as she called out Red's name one more time, hoping against hope for a response. But the only reply was the hollow echo of her own voice, swallowed by the vastness of the carnival.
