Snow slowly opened her eyes, her head throbbing with a dull ache. She found herself in an unfamiliar room, her surroundings hazy and disorienting.
She suddenly remembered carnival,
her conversation with Red
and Red getting….
"WHAT THE FUCK"
"Red. Red!" Snow screamed.
Snow got a bit alarmed seeing a man standing near the window in total darkness.
The man moved closer and CLOSER.
"Wait! Don't come any closer."
The man stopped. Now he was clearly visible.
It was the same man she had crashed into at the Hungry Haven. Snow was relieved to see it wasn't Graham.
But still, what's she doing with this total stranger she once crashed into.
Confusion filled her mind as she struggled to piece together what had happened. The first thing that came to her lips was a question that burned within her.
"Where am I and Who are you?" Snow asked, her voice trembling slightly.
The man extended a hand to help her up, his gaze filled with empathy. "You're in my home. I'm David. Earlier, I saw you lying unconscious on the ground, so I brought you here to make sure you're okay."
Snow's eyes widened as she tried to process the information. "Ohh…Why..Where was I lying?"
"I found you at the exit of the carnival under a tree."
"And was there someone else around? A girl perhaps."
"Just you…as far as I could remember but why?"
"No! NO! NO. No. This is really bad. Listen, Thank you for everything but now I've to leave"
David's expression turned serious as he listened to Snow's words.
"WHAT IS?"
"I'll explain later. I promise." Snow said while tying up her shoes.
David moved closer. Gave Snow her phone.
"Listen, I know it's something urgent and you're in a hurry but it's dark outside and it's raining. You're gonna need some help for whatever you're about to do and I can help you."
Snow was startled by the roar of the thunderous clouds but more so by this stranger assisting her in something he has no idea about.
"Thanks but I'll be fine alone."
"Where are you going?"
"You wanna help, right?"
David nodded.
"An umbrella would be a great help."
David left the room to fetch her an umbrella. In the meanwhile, Snow went closer towards the window to witness the weather and where she actually was situated.
While Snow was busy in her thoughts. A man tapped from behind.
Snow turned around and her eyes widening in disbelief. Her mouth fell open, but no words escaped her lips as she stood frozen, as if she had just seen a ghost.
