A/N: I only own the OC

Thank you for all the reviews!

I was sitting in the waiting room with Becky and Dave. Candice was cleaning up Jodi's house while Johnny and Elias took care of the club. I stood up and walked outside. I couldn't take it. I wanted to know that she was alright.

I was sitting outside when someone walked up beside me. I looked over at Dave. He looked upset as well.

"I never liked the guy." He said and I nodded. I ran my hands over my face. I just wanted her to be ok and happy.

"She fired him from the club." I said and Dave looked surprised.

"I had a problem with her friendship with him when I was with her... something was always off." He said and I nodded.

"I wish I had..." I was saying when Becky yelled for us. We were needed inside.

"I made some phone calls." Dave said and I nodded. I knew that Dave and I both had certain connections, but since his were more local it was probably a good thing he had already made those calls.

We walked inside and the nurse was asking for Jodi's family.

"I'm her fiancé." I said and Dave looked surprised. I forgot that we hadn't told anyone yet. The nurse nodded and let me walk back there.

"Sir, she has had trauma so if you aren't going to be able to handle it then walk out." The nurse warned me. I nodded and she let me into the room. Jodi was laying on the bed looking frail, very bruised, and sad.

I walked over, sat beside her, and took her non bandaged hand in mine. She opened her eyes and looked at me.

"Hi, Princess." I said and she tried to smile, but she couldn't. I could already see the tears forming.

"Please don't cry... this isn't your fault." I said as I gently wiped her bruised cheeks.

The doctor came in and went over everything. I knew that Cash had hurt her, but I didn't know the extent until now. She had a dislocated shoulder, large gash down her side, and some internal tearing. He went over everything that needed to be done to take care of the injuries. They also set up an orthopedic appointment to look at her shoulder, as well as a counselor. They finished going over everything, and Becky helped her dress into some clothes she had brought.

I was outside with Dave when they came walking out. Jodi looked frail and broken. I carefully wrapped an arm around her as we walked to the cars. I opened the door and she slipped in as I looked at Becky and Dave.

"Candice cleaned up the house, but I don't think she needs to go back tonight." Becky said and I nodded.

"I think she should stay at mine." I said and they both agreed.

"I will update you on what happens." Dave said and I nodded.

"Can you please reschedule the party?" I asked Becky and she nodded.

"Oh, yeah, congrats." Dave said and stuck his hand out. I shook it and he gave a sad smile.

I got into the car and took Jodi's good hand as I drove us back to my house. I helped her inside and she was sitting on the couch as she starred straight ahead. I really didn't know how to make his better. I wish I had put my foot down long ago about him. I knew that Dave felt the same way. I was going to say something when someone knocked on the door... she didn't move.

I opened the door to find Johnny and Candice at the door with some flowers. I let them in and Candice sat next to Jodi. She handed her the flowers and Jodi mumbled a thanks. I pulled Johnny into the kitchen while they sat together.

"Thank you for getting to her." I said and he looked very upset.

"I wish it had been a second sooner... he was..." he was trying to say as I put my hand on his shoulder. I knew that I had accidentally put him in a horrible position as well.

"I'm sorry I had to ask you to do that." I said and he shook his head no angrily.

"No, I would protect her like I would Candice. I just wish I had known as well." he admitted and I nodded.

"I'm just sorry you didn't get to have the party tonight. I know that Jodi was super excited about it." he said and I gave a sad chuckle.

"We were going to announce our engagement." I said and he looked at me surprised.

"Congrats." he finally said and I nodded.

"Yeah, except I have no idea where her ring is... she didn't have it on when I got to the house." I said and he sighed.

"I'm sure it's safe." he said and I nodded.

Jodi POV

I was sitting with Candice and I felt stupid. I felt dirty. I felt like Cash was right... Dexter was never going to want me again. He had... taken something from me. Candice was sitting with me when she pulled something out of her pocket. I looked at her with surprise. I thought that Cash had taken my engagement ring.

"You found it?" I asked her and she nodded. She handed it to me and I went to put it on, but stopped.

"What is it?" she asked me.

"I doubt he wants me anymore." I mumbled and she shook her head no.

"Dexter loves you more than you know. He was miserable when you weren't together. He hated seeing you with someone else, and he hates being away from you for even a day. He loves you no matter what, Jodi." she said and I nodded, but I couldn't put the ring on. I sat it on the table and nodded.

She talked to me a little more before she and Johnny finally left. Dexter walked in with some water and sat it down when he spotted the ring. He carefully picked it up and looked at it. He looked at me and held out his empty hand.

"Let me put it back on you." he said and I shook my head no as tears started to fall from my eyes.

"Jodi, I don't love you any less." he said and I didn't do or say anything. He sat the ring down and walked away. I could feel the anger from him. I didn't know what to do or what to say. I just knew that he deserved better than me.

I felt the tears come faster as his cat jumped up into my lap. He hadn't hurt my wounds as he laid down on my lap. He knew that I needed some comfort right now. I curled up on the couch with him and cried myself to sleep.

Dexter POV

I couldn't face Jodi right now. She was so hurt, and there was nothing I could do to fix it. I had tried to put the ring back on her finger, but she wouldn't let me. I was angry. I didn't know what to do or say, so I had to walk away before I accidentally upset her anymore. I would give anything to go back in time and fix this before it happened. I could hear her sobbing on the couch and it broke my heart. I finally went outside because the last thing I needed to do was to make it worse on her.
