Stargate Korr 7

Dr. Daniel Jackson finished his oral report and watched the shocked, frightened and stunned expressions of his own team and the base commander, General Hammond. Daniel was not surprised by their reactions, as he was so nervous about everything he had seen that his hands still shook from time to time.

To his companions, they were just listening to a story of how, possibly, Earth would be invaded and bombed. Billions of people would die, and those left alive would be enslaved. It was terrifying, but they were just words. Daniel had seen it all with his own eyes? Well, at least he had been there and had seen many people die when SGC Command, from another universe, was invaded by Apophis and his ships that attacked Earth.

After nodding inwardly in understanding at the state of his companions and General Hammond, Dr. Daniel Jackson looked at the last person in the briefing room, Colonel Maybourne, a member of both the military and the NID, an intelligence agency that was theoretically charged with protecting the Stargate project from internal threats within the planet, but who in his view were just thugs and corrupt.

The last time they acted, they wanted to kidnap, imprison and under torture, and who knows what other atrocities, obtain information about advanced technology from a group of human inhabitants of another world, who were pacifists and refused to share their technology for fear that some extremist would cause a calamity by using it.

Earlier that day, Maybourne had given Daniel a look that swore his eternal enmity after he had helped the Tollan escape from him and his thugs. Daniel guessed that their grudges would be irreconcilable from that day on, but he didn't much care. People like Maybourne made his hair stand on end, and he couldn't imagine being friends with them. The next day, however, Maybourne returned to Stargate Command with a new assignment on his hands to open an office there, and Daniel feared he was planning revenge against him. So, he went to spy on her meeting with General Hammond to try to find out her purpose.

He was not the only member of his team, but he was the only one who could act brazenly to obtain information, since Jack and Sam were military men who had a rigid hierarchy, and Teal'c was an alien guest who would raise too much suspicion if he was caught eavesdropping on official conversations.

Everything was normal during his attempted espionage, and he even managed to hear part of Maybourne's new assignment, who explained that he was only a diplomatic liaison and that General Hammond was still in full control of the SGC. But when he finished, since Daniel couldn't run off and make his blatant spying even more blatant, he pretended to read a newspaper while waiting for Maybourne to come out to talk to General Hammond.

What Daniel didn't count on was that Maybourne didn't walk past him, but instead waved at him before leaving, and Daniel would swear he was smiling in happiness. A smile he confirmed only a few hours later. From that day on, Maybourne changed his manner towards his entire team and the SGC. He was friendly, personable, and General Hammond even said he was reasonable.

Daniel was frightened. He didn't understand how a man who one day was full of hatred and murderous intentions towards him and his group, would show up in front of them the next day, flashing a friendly smile. A smile that had already lasted two months. It was too strange, crazy and frightening. Something sinister was going on with that man, and Daniel already gasped every time he saw him, because he couldn't figure out what the hell he was planning.

Daniel abandoned his thoughts when he met Maybourne's gaze, and thought that perhaps he had been thinking too much, and Maybourne had simply suffered a brain accident that made him lose his mind, because of all the people in the room, he was the only one who showed a satisfied and expectant expression, with a sincere smile of happiness.

If the Tollans came back and knelt before him giving him their apologies and offering him all their technology, Daniel supposed he would not be any happier than he was at this moment.

-Maybourne, stop smiling, you're making my hair stand on end," said Jack, who was as indiscreet as ever.

Colonel Maybourne cleared his throat uncomfortably, but said nothing, even though Jack raised an eyebrow at him to explain, and when Maybourne pretended not to see him, he cleared his throat loudly and pointed to his raised eyebrow to indicate he was asking a question. Maybourne looked at him coolly.

-I think it's an interesting story, but we need more evidence. I suggest sending an SG team to scout the location as soon as possible," Maybourne said.

-That's reasonable," said General Hammond, looking at Maybourne with a frown.

-We'll get everything ready," said Colonel O'Neill, who Daniel suspected that provoking the Goa'uld gave him pleasure.

-No! We'll send another team," said Maybourne.

In the end, he had managed to control his tone of voice, but it was clear that he sounded alarmed at first. Jack pounded the table, snapping everyone out of their stupefaction.

-Maybourne, drop everything! -Jack scolded.

-Jack, I don't understand what you're talking about," Maybourne excused with a serious tone and a straight face.

-Maybourne, your words sound to me like: "No, those who go on that mission will die, send others," said Jack with a menacing expression. Now, you clearly know something we don't, and while your unscrupulous protection of my team touches me, I want to know what the hell you're thinking keeping vital information to yourself," Jack threatened.

Daniel agreed, Maybourne was sure that the team sent to the address Daniel had brought would die. Daniel didn't know why Maybourne wanted to save their lives, but the fact that he was sending others to their deaths just to keep information to himself meant he was still the same old bully, with no empathy for others.

-"Colonel Maybourne, I know you're not under my command and I can't give you orders, but I don't appreciate you playing with the lives of men under my command, and if necessary, I'll use the red phone to get to the bottom of this," General Hammond threatened.

Maybourne frowned and pondered for a full minute.

-I can't tell you everything, and what I tell you here cannot leave this room. This information is considered top secret, and any leak will be considered a national security risk," Maybourne said, threatening to make them all disappear in a none-too-subtle way.

-I'm terrified! -I'm terrified," said Colonel O'Neill mockingly. Start talking at once," he scolded. Maybourne nodded, ignoring his mocking tone, as if he didn't notice anything.

-Two months ago, an ally informed us of this attack and the Goa'uld forces that would be involved. Of course, we do not blindly trust this, but Dr. Jackson's report is consistent with the information provided, which leads me to confirm it as true and I was preparing to begin preparations for a counterattack," Maybourne explained, leaving them all stunned.

-You mean that address is probably a Goa'uld world from which the attack will be initiated? -said Jack. Maybourne nodded indifferently, "And even knowing that, you were going to allow an SG team to go there to die," said Jack, gritting his teeth.

-We can't be sure of that. Goa'uld security has already proven to be flawed….

-Maybourne, you are a vile, crawling creature! -Jack insulted, glaring at Maybourne with murderous eagerness, but Sam seemed to reflect and then frowned.

-Sir, I don't understand, why send another team? -Sam asked, to no one in particular.

-Our informant has asked me to be nice to you and not make things difficult for you. Also to keep an eye on your security," Maybourne confessed nonchalantly.

Daniel had to admit that he was as perplexed as everyone else in the room. The person who had known for two months about an attack on Earth and who gave Maybourne all that information could not be from this planet, so Daniel wondered what alien they had met who cared so much about their lives.

-Did the Nox change their minds and want to offer us more than just a method of cleaning leaves off trees? -asked Jack in a wry tone.

The truth was that, despite his seemingly nonchalant comments, Jack was an extremely perceptive person, and the Nox were the only advanced alien species they had met that was capable of helping them in this situation. But the Nox made it clear to them that they would not help them in any war, they only agreed to a cultural exchange, and that took all of Daniel's diplomatic skills. It was also thanks to an ally….

-The report from an ally! -said Daniel and Maybourne grimaced, confirming his theory for everyone in the room.

-You're in contact with the guy who caused the ruckus back then," said Jack. Maybourne nodded with a sigh.

-His identity is still a secret, I've only talked to one of his creations, but I'm sure it has nothing to do with the hippie species," Maybourne spat in disgust. He had a special grudge against pacifists.

-Creations? -General Hammond raised his hand to interrupt Sam.

-What help has this ally offered us in the face of this attack? -General Hammond asked, returning the conversation to the matter at hand.

-Well, we have a cargo ship thanks to him, although I don't think it will do us much good. According to the specs of the two ships approaching Earth, the one we have is just a tool. However, the envoy said that as soon as the ships approached Earth, they would contact each other again," Maybourne explained.

-And you believed him? -Jack asked incredulously.

-I think talking wasn't the only thing they did, if he has gained the colonel's trust, he must have given him some things as well," said Daniel unable to remove the accusatory tone from his words. Maybourne nodded.

-Yes, he gave us some things," Maybourne said dryly, it was obvious he wasn't going to tell them what his agency was given.

Daniel wasn't sure he wanted to ask.

-Some undetectable spying device? Some gadget that reads minds? Some bug that gets inside people's heads and lets you control them remotely? -Jack asked, putting Daniel's fears into words. From the silence that ensued, they all shared the same fears.

-Some things! -Maybourne repeated dryly.

-Do these gifts have anything to do with the recent corruption and espionage scandals? -Colonel O'Neill insisted.

Daniel was surprised by two things: one, that Jack would link these two points, and the other, that in order to link them, he had to read a report.

-I saw it on television," Jack clarified, realizing that he had stunned them all. Daniel cleared his throat.

-Well, that makes sense. I mean, the gifts Maybourne received and the sudden success of the security agencies uncovering spies and catching corrupt senators who committed treason," Daniel clarified.

There had been several recent scandals, of spies and even senators paid by other powers, infiltrating congress, foreign agents in intelligence agencies and even in the Pentagon. Maybourne and his people had not been idle with the technology they had been given. For its effects on the country, they had already allied themselves with the NSA and CIA.

-Some things! -Maybourne emphasized to indicate that he wasn't going to tell them anything.

-Well, where are these allies? Why aren't they coming through the Stargate right now to help us…? -Jack's complaints were interrupted by the base alarms announcing an unscheduled call.

Maybourne went from a serious and intriguing expression to one of absolute happiness.

-Maybourne, I told you, stop smiling, you're scaring us," Jack scolded.

Daniel had to admit he was nervous, wondering what they had promised Maybourne to make him happy, and he couldn't help but remember the artifacts Jack had mentioned.

-To the Stargate room," General Hammond ordered with a helpless sigh.

When they arrived at the Stargate room, the wormhole was already forming.

-Close the iris," General Hammond ordered once the wormhole had stabilized.

-Let's hope they know how to use the radio," Jack commented, but as he finished speaking, two people stepped through the portal as if the iris wasn't there.

-That's Tollan technology," said Daniel in disbelief.

He had already seen this technology in use when he had helped the Tollans escape from Maybourne's clutches. The others nodded and Maybourne looked meaningfully at the General to indicate that these were the people they were waiting for.

General Hammond gave the order to withdraw the troops who had entered the gate room, and a few minutes later, they were back in the boardroom with an annex of two people: a tall black-haired man with black hair, light blue eyes, a contoured face and wearing a casual suit, which was a current model of Earth. Next to him was a teenage girl with pale skin, light blue hair and scarlet red iris eyes, with some Asian features on her face.

According to their introductions, when General Hammond came down to welcome them into the Stargate room, their names were 00 and 03. Daniel thought about what Maybourne said about having contacted one of his creations.

-"I assume Maybourne has already told you about us," said 00. We are here to help you with the attack the system lord Apophis has launched against your planet.

"At present, two of your Ha'tak ships are making final preparations to begin their attack on this planet. At most, they will take another day. Most likely they will begin the last leg of their journey to Earth in twelve hours," 00 raised his arm, pointing to the front where a realistic, color hologram of two pyramid ships orbiting a planet appeared. These are the ships mentioned.

"They are two ha'tak ships, each with a crew of Jaffa troops of not less than a thousand warriors. There are also some lesser lords and human servants who are there to witness Apophis destroy their civilization.

"These ships have at least twelve death gliders each and two to three al'kesh bombers for strategic or tactical missions. As she spoke, images of the things she mentioned kept appearing on the hologram along with some specifications written in English.

-You have two options to stop this attack," 03 interjected. The first is to send a nuclear-capable explosive device through the portal to this address," he said, and to everyone's surprise, the address was the same one Daniel had brought from the other reality. Apophis has the portal inside one of the ha'tak to transport supplies and it will also be used so that once you are in Earth orbit, your jaffa will keep the portal active, and that will prevent you from escaping this planet by making use of the portal.

"However, this portal is also a weakness that can be exploited to destroy both ships, as their shields will be deactivated and the range of the blast will be enough to destroy them both. This plan is the one that will bring you less risk at the moment of executing it, but it is the one that has more risk in the long term, because it will put you in the sights of the lords of the system, and they will send their fleet against you when they consider you a serious threat -explained 03 with a serene expression.

-What's the second plan? -Jack asked, raising an eyebrow.

-The second plan is to use the portal as a means to initiate an invasion of your ships and take control of them and everything Apophis has stored on them for you," 00 explained.

-I like that plan, when do we start? -Jack asked, interrupting and causing 03 to frown.

-Colonel O'Neill, remain calm," General Hammond said diplomatically to ease the tension.

-"For them to use their own portal to invade his ships and kill his troops and allies will make Apophis look like an idiot and a weak lord, which in turn will cause his Goa'uld vassals to betray him, other lords to attack him, and in general, everyone to want to profit from his misfortune, causing his eventual downfall and ridding Earth of his threat," 00 explained with a calm face.

The plan sounded good, but Daniel felt a chill for its consequences on Apophis. It seemed that if this plan succeeded, Apophis' life would become a disgrace.

-The Goa'uld rule the galaxy by subjugating other species and peoples, killing, torturing and enslaving people. If that is the fate of Apophis, it will be an act of justice to carry out this plan," Teal'c interjected, whose words were counted in any gathering and merely nodded.

-Well said, Teal'c. Let's make life difficult for the snake," Jack supported.

Daniel had to agree that he was feeling better already. Sam pointed to the ships in the hologram.

-Those ships are advanced technology, shouldn't they have an alarm system in case their ships are invaded? -Sam asked, looking at his allies. The man nodded.

-The ha'tak ships have internal sensors that will sound an alarm in the event of an intrusion of more than ten individuals, warning whoever is in charge of the ship's bridge, and this in turn, if it confirms a threat, will sound alarms throughout the ship. They might even seal off the area using shields.

"That is why we are here. Our collaboration in this mission will be to infiltrate and take control of the bridge of both ships, sealing off access to important areas to prevent some sabotage countermeasures by the Jaffa or Goa'uld present.

"Once this happens, your army will enter through the gate and suppress the enemy forces. I believe that if it comes to ground combat, their projectile weapons are far superior to the jaffa energy staffs. On the other hand, the person who sent us has given them a sarcophagus before, which means they should not be afraid of taking casualties," 03 explained.

-General, I've always thought it's best to avoid dying," said Colonel O'Neill. General Hammond nodded, unable to hide a half-smile.

-I will contact the president to inform him of our current situation. We will need personnel…" Maybourne raised his hand, interrupting.

-As I told you, this invasion had already been announced. We also had all the information about the Goa'uld ships, their defenses and the troops we would meet on them. The president is already informed and has five battalions practicing boarding tactics and the best strategies to take control of them.

"Now that the bridge will be taken by our allies, the mission is even simpler: we just have to clear the place with force, trying not to damage advanced technology that can be useful to us," Maybourne explained, looking at Jack with narrowed eyes as he emphasized the last part.

-I'll keep my hands off any explosive devices," Jack said seriously.

-I will contact the president to inform him of the adjustments to the plan," said General Hammond helplessly in a tone of ignorance of the NID's plans.

Two hours later, Daniel arrived at what according to the information they had been given by their new allies was a cargo hold of a Goa'uld ship. Daniel saw dozens of crates that would be filled with Goa'uld weaponry for their invasion of Earth.

-Wait here, once we have taken the bridge of both ships, you can open the portal to report and the capture of the ships can begin," said 00.

-How will you take the bridge? -Sam asked. That part of the plan had not been explained. 00 looked at 03, who shrugged and disappeared in an ace of energy. Daniel and his group were stunned.

-The bridge of the second ship has been taken and secured," 03 said into his radios a few seconds later. Daniel was again stunned.

-I will inform you as soon as I have done my part," said 00 and disappeared in a flash of light.

-The bridge has been taken and the ship secured, you may begin clearing the enemy forces," 00's voice came over his radios a few seconds later.

-Hurry! -Jack ordered.

His team met 00 an hour later as they made their way to the bridge. The troops whose priority was to take the bridge area. 00 was standing in front of what looked like a door and, seeing them, he touched it and it opened, revealing a room and a sarcophagus.

-There is a goa'uld inside, he is likely the commander of this invasion," he said activating the goa'uld artifact and causing it to begin to open.

-I don't think that's a good idea," said Daniel, but it was too late. Jack pulled out a zat gun and activated it.

-"Sounds like a good plan to me, let's say hello to the snake, I need to ask him about a friend," said Jack.

Daniel knew he was referring to Skaara, an Abydonian abducted by Apophis and turned into a Goa'uld host. His wife Share was also abducted and turned into a host, so he too pulled out a zat pistol; he was not forgetting the promise he made to Share's father….

Daniel's thoughts were interrupted when the goa'uld in the sarcophagus stood up and they saw that it was not Apophis, but Skaara. Daniel managed to come out of his shock and take aim, as did Jack, but it was too late and the goa'uld activated his personal shield.

-O'Neill," the Goa'uld said with a smile, and Jack shuddered at his familiar tone.

-He is not Skaara," Daniel reminded him.

-You'd better keep sleeping," 00 said, reaching out his hand, which went through the goa'uld's personal shield as if it wasn't there, touched his face, and the goa'uld collapsed in a swoon.

-He will not awaken for another eight hours. You can put him in a corner. If he is an acquaintance, I will extract the symbiote as soon as his army finishes clearing the ship," 00 explained, disappearing in a flash of light.

-Teal'c, help me get him to the portal. We'll send him to Earth when we open the portal to report back," said Jack, who apparently didn't want to take any chances.

-We should take their weapons first," Sam added, pointing to the kara kesh goa'uld.

Five hours later, as the medics were separating the wounded and dead of their invasion forces from the Jaffa serving Apophis, who fought to the end without surrendering for a second, they received a radio communication.

-Colonel O'Neill, the Stargate has been activated and a Goa'uld has entered. I believe it is Apophis. We are under fire in the cargo hold," reported one of the guards left guarding the gate.

O'Neill began to run as he sent orders to bring reinforcements to the hold where the Stargate was.

Five minutes later, upon arriving at the scene, the guards were fine and Apophis was being held by the neck by 03, who was watching him curiously. Apophis' guard was at his feet, surrounding him, as if they had fainted as they approached him.

-He just appeared and grabbed him by the neck. The jaffa who approached fell down fainting," explained a soldier who looked dazed when they arrived.

-Tauris, the system lords…" Apophis lost consciousness before he could finish his threat. 00 appeared next to 03 in a flash of white light.

-Make him forget about these two ships and send him back through the portal to his planet, along with some jaffa," said 00, and 03 nodded. Daniel watched in some horror as 03 plunged his left hand into Apophis' head and the goa'uld shuddered.

-Apophis will awaken on his planet believing these ships were destroyed. He must think that because, if the system overlords learn that they captured two ha'tak, this plan will have the same result as having used a nuclear device," 00 explained.

-You mean they can alter their memories? -Sam asked. 00 nodded indifferently.

-Please tell me they haven't given that technology to Maybourne," said Jack. Daniel was of the same opinion.

-We haven't done that," 00 replied, and Jack raised an eyebrow.

-I'm sorry, I didn't hear the part where you told us what technology was delivered to him," said Jack insinuatingly.

-Colonel, for intelligence to be effective, it's better if fewer people know their procedures and hidden cards," he added, but from his faint smile, she understood that this caused them a certain degree of frustration.

-You will also receive gifts," 03 consoled.

-What gifts? -Jack asked, stepping in front of Sam.

These ships will be modified by us for you, adding a naquadriah-based power source, just like the cargo ship we gave you earlier. This will increase their top speed by seventy times.

"With the spare power we can also upgrade sensor systems, weapons, shields and install plasma repeater cannons. The new shields can be adjusted to provide the same cloaking system possessed by the cargo ship we recovered for you earlier.

"In addition, this ship has death gliders, whose power source will be changed. We will change the batons installed on them to mobile plasma repeater cannons and add a weapons and flight control system that will allow them to be more maneuverable and faster. We will add a shield generator that will allow the use of camouflage technology and an automatic targeting system. As for the al'kesh, their upgrades will be the same as the ha'tak ship," 03 explained.

-"Sir, according to the specifications of this ship, it can traverse the entire galaxy in only three years. If that speed is increased by seventy times, this ship will be able to traverse the entire galaxy in just over half a month. With this advantage alone, we could have a strategic capability far superior to the Goa'uld," Sam explained and Jack nodded in satisfaction.

-Well, for that alone I can forgive them for giving them dangerous toys to Maybourne, but no more, the guy is dangerous enough," said Jack.

03 smiled and removed his hand from Apophis' skull, then pointed to the portal, and with a wave of his hand, it activated, without causing any instability.

03 launched Apophis from twenty feet away, flying into the portal, only using his right hand and without seeming to exert himself. He then looked at the jaffa on the ground and their bodies floated up to follow their god through the portal.

-And when do we get this cosmic superpower technology? -Jack asked.

-When you've developed it yourselves," said 03, with a smile of amusement.

Jack looked at Sam to raise an eyebrow.

-Sir, I don't even understand what I've seen," Sam complained.

Jack was about to complain, but three jaffa entered the hold. Still, no one raised their weapons.

This was Bra'tac, Teal'c's master. They had encountered him while raiding the ships. From what he told them, he had been planning his own rebellion to prevent the attack on Earth and had no idea the Tauri were so capable.

-Are you sure we couldn't stay with Apophis? -Daniel asked, reluctant at the way they had dispatched their only lead to his wife.

-Not if they want to keep the Goa'uld's attention on him and not on Earth," said 00, who was examining the cargo hold as the soldiers gathered the wounded from Apophis' invasion. They now had two sarcophagi, casualties and the severely wounded could recover.

-Colonel O'Neill, we've done our job here. As soon as you finish clearing these ships, you can call us to begin your upgrade," 03 said, gesturing to the stargate again, to activate it in the same manner as before.

-Wait, how are we going to contact you? And Skaara is still possessed by a goa'uld," Daniel hastened to say.

03 stopped in his walk to the stargate and turned back to them. In front of him a box appeared in a flash of light.

-This is a Goa'uld work computer, you can install it in your base. It is thousands of times more powerful than yours and we have integrated a communication system and interface to make it easy to use. You can use it to communicate with us. As soon as you finish your work, we will attend to your friend. But it's only for emergencies, we don't plan to solve all your problems for you, only when we feel they are beyond you," 03 explained and tried to turn away.

-Wait, could you lend us another one of those computers? We have another base linked to the Stargate project that also needs one for the study of all this stuff," Sam said, and even Teal'c looked at her strangely.

-Carter! -Jack chided, and Sam blushed.

03 looked at 00, but 00 ignored everyone and walked through the stargate. 03 shrugged and two other boxes appeared on the spot.

-The extra computer is a personal gift for her," 03 said, looking at Sam, then turned around and walked through the stargate. Everyone was surprised.

-Carter, ignore what I said before, please ask for more stuff next time," said Jack, and Sam bit his lips.

NA: Eight months have passed and Apophis has arrived on Earth, becoming a gift to increase Korr's influence on the planet. These gifts will cause Earth to intervene more in the galaxy and prepare to take care of any chaos that may arise in the future, ensuring Korr's peace.

In the next chapter, we will see the reaction of the Goa'uld System Lords to the fall of Olokun. A month has passed since the end of the war of conquest, which was Korr's attack on Olokun, and they are already on the march, with the exception of Apophis, who has fallen from grace, and Olokun, who is sleeping in a cargo hold along with the wraith, the Alteran, and a hapless fallen soldier that no one remembers.
