Stargate Korr 9
Samantha Carter was imprisoned in her own body, watching as the goa'uld that had gotten into her body was taken to sickbay, examined, and then imprisoned and caged. In another situation, she would be terrified by what had happened, but at this moment, Stargate Command had allies who could extract a symbiote with ease. She herself had seen 00 reach into Skaara's head and then pull out her Klorel symbiote, causing no harm to the boy who called Colonel O'Neill "father."
Worst case scenario, Stargate Command had two sarcophagi. It was creepy to think that they would cut her head open, kill her and extract the symbiote and then put her in the sarcophagus, but it was better than spending her life as host to a Goa'uld symbiote….
-Wait, I'm not a Goa'uld, we can negotiate my release," said an alarmed voice in her mind. Samantha Carter somehow sensed a feeling of undeniable truth in that voice.
-You are not a Goa'uld? -Samantha asked blankly.
-I am a symbiote, but I am not a Goa'uld. My name is Jolinar and I am of the Tok'ra…. -The symbiote told her a long story and released her body for Samantha to negotiate.
…
-I want to speak to General Hammond," Samantha Carter said to the guard watching her.
…
General Hammond did not come, but members of his team did.
-Speak, snake. But I warn you, you have nothing to bargain with, our allies will soon be here, and from what we were told last time, your fate is a suspended animation hold, after they lobotomize your brain to remove that silly belief that you are a god," said Colonel O'Neill. His tone was jocular, but it was full of menace and even intimidating to the symbiote who felt frightened.
-Sir, it is I, the symbiote says he is not a Goa'uld, and that he belongs to a resistance group called the Tok'ra. He is willing to negotiate his release," Samantha Carter explained. Now that she had heard that they wouldn't crack his skull to get the symbiote out, she was calmer, but she felt a little sorry for the symbiote that she was scared, and it was possible he was telling the truth. Colonel O'Neill looked at Teal'c.
-I have heard of them before, they are a legendary race among the Goa'uld, but the System Lords know little of them," Teal'c explained. Nor do I have a method of determining the veracity of the information provided by this symbiote. The Goa'uld will say anything to escape danger," Teal'c added.
Colonel O'Neill squinted at her. He seemed to want to look inside her brain, which brought a smile to Samantha's face, he would never change. Colonel O'Neill nodded.
…
-Carter, we need to talk about this, we'll come back later," Colonel O'Neill said.
…
Twenty minutes later, Captain Samantha Carter was sitting in an interrogation room, with Maybourne in front of her, looking at her with an unfriendly face, and Colonel O'Neill looking at him from behind his seat menacingly, backed by the rest of his team, to open the box in front of him.
-This is not necessary, we are risking a leak of information for the sake of a miserable parasite. Better to extract him and let him settle his affairs out of this place," said Maybourne, showing his reluctance to open the box.
From his attitude, Samantha understood that this box contained the advanced technology entrusted to the NID, and with which the intelligence agencies had uncovered a large number of spies and traitors in her country.
-Maybourne, do not be petty, I assure you that we will not say anything about anything we see here, it will be absolute secrecy. As for the snake, he probably has something like it in his hands," General O'Neill consoled. Maybourne gritted his teeth, but resigned himself and opened the box.
Inside the box was a rectangular device about forty by thirty centimeters, and ten centimeters thick, in the center of which was a red jewel. The only thing Samantha recognized, were the two small circular sensors, which were the same ones used by the computer 03 gave her, to link with her mind.
Maybourne took the two small sensor disks off to the side and taped one to her temple, passing the other one to her. As she put it on, Samantha felt as if someone suddenly let out a terrible scream in her ear and she gritted her teeth in shock and pain. This was not the same effect that her computer sensor had. She looked at Colonel Maybourne, who had not reacted.
-Now answer my questions truthfully, and don't try to hide anything, this device goes straight to your subconscious, there is no point in trying to lie," Maybourne warned and Samantha nodded. Are you Captain Samantha Carter? -asked Maybourne.
-Yes," Samantha replied.
-Are you being controlled by a Goa'uld or Tok'ra symbiote? -she asked.
-Not at this time," Samantha replied.
-Can we talk to the symbiote? -Maybourne asked and Samantha gave way to the symbiote who watched the interrogation in disbelief, wondering where they had come up with such a device.
-Are you the symbiote? -Maybourne asked.
-Yes," Jolinar replied.
Colonel Maybourne continued to ask questions and Jolinar answered most of them, telling them how she had been ambushed and was being pursued by assassins sent by the system lord Cronus, whose goal was to eliminate all tok'ra. She would never take a host by force, but she had vital information to deliver to the tok'ra and could not die.
-We were talking to Captain Carter at first, and the symbiote is also telling the truth," Maybourne said grumpily, picking up the two small disks and putting the lie detector artifact away with a lost expression.
-Where did they get an artifact like this? Is there any possibility of sharing their technology? -Jolinar asked with interest, causing Maybourne's expression to turn from sad to furious as he gritted his teeth and stomped off.
-Well, at least we know the truth, that's the most important thing," said Colonel O'Neill, as Maybourne slammed the door.
-He'll get over it when we get some more alien technology," said Colonel O'Neill. Daniel put on an expression that he didn't think that would happen, and Teal'c just kept his expression serene.
-Well, we want to talk to Carter, anything you want, you can tell us through her," Colonel O'Neill told him.
…
Half an hour later, Captain Carter had been taken to a room. She was not restrained, but neither was she free to move about unattended, and she had two soldiers guarding her door at all times. Jolinar had given them an address where they could contact the Tok'ra and negotiate her release….
Captain Carter heard a noise outside and ran to open the door to find one of the soldiers knocked out next to an unknown man, and Colonel O'Neill and Teal'c, holding zat pistols, on the other side of her door. They had been hiding in the room, when Jolinar told them the type of assassin that was after her.
-I think Maybourne will be happy again if we give him this cloaking device," Colonel O'Neill said, holding up the device that the Ashrak assassin used to hide.
-Jolinar says that this technology only works on those who are symbiote carriers," Samantha told him. Colonel O'Neill grimaced.
-Well, that part he doesn't need to know," Colonel O'Neill said and looked at the Goa'uld infiltrator. I don't think he will object to having the symbiote removed," Colonel O'Neill said. Samantha nodded.
…
Two hours later the Tok'ra envoys arrived, just after 03 had left, after extracting the symbiote from the Goa'uld assassin. The Tok'ra envoys were a blond man in his late twenties to early twenties, an older man, and a blond woman who wore her hair to her shoulders. The Tok'ra wore tight-fitting, padded-looking clothing of a sandy white color.
…
As Jolinar has told you, we prefer to work alone, but we are willing to offer an alliance in our fight against the Goa'uld, in exchange for the technology used by the artifact they call a lie detector," said the Tok'ra leader, a middle-aged woman, wearing a scarlet black, long-skirted, tight-fitting dress with an ornate collar.
They were in General Hammond's meeting room, with General Hammond presiding over the negotiations, his team overseeing everything, Maybourne keeping an eye on their new enemies, and Daniel in the role of negotiator.
Samantha, who was the affected party, had had a meeting with the Tok'ra so they could talk to Jolinar. The first thing Jolinar did, was to warn them about the presence of a traitor, and then, without Samantha being able to help herself, she told them about the lie detector device. Since it was done, Samantha could only sigh, and wait for Maybourne's heart attack when he found out.
Now, just minutes later, the Tok'ra had dropped the bombshell in their first intervention in the negotiation. Maybourne's reaction was immediate and his face began to turn purple, and he seemed to be thinking of drawing his weapon to silence the Tok'ra.
-Maybourne, calm down," Colonel O'Neill said in a serious tone and looked at her with a raised eyebrow, questioning and also reprimanding her for the leak.
-I'm sorry sir, I couldn't do anything," Samantha apologized.
Daniel interjected hastily, because Maybourne was already preparing to stand up.
-Please remain calm, I think this is just a misunderstanding…" Daniel explained to the Tok'ra that this information was a secret, explaining what an intelligence agency was, and the importance they gave to the information they considered confidential or top secret.
-We do not possess such things, the relationships between our members are based on mutual trust and we do not use items such as doors to isolate ourselves from the rest of us," replied the Tok'ra leader.
Samantha had to confess that she disliked intelligence agencies, but was stunned at such an answer, which she considered to be on the level of a five year old. Maybourne blinked in a dazed state, then made a point of withdrawing.
-Maybourne, don't be dramatic, sit down, it's not the end of the world," said Colonel O'Neill.
-Colonel O'Neill, let's keep things calm. Colonel Maybourne, please sit down, and let our diplomatic representative do his job," said General Hammond diplomatically, looking at Daniel, who blinked at him in a daze. Even he, who took little time to trust people, had been stunned by the Tok'ra's statement.
-Well… It would be better not to argue about this point for the moment, let's concentrate on the negotiations.
"With what I have explained before, I think I have made it clear what an intelligence agency is, and how important this artifact is to them. If they want to negotiate for it, they will have to offer something of equal value," Daniel said, evading any discussion of the position on trust among the Tok'ra.
The Tok'ra leader reflected for a few seconds and exchanged glances with her companions.
-According to what you mention, the information is important to this… intelligence agency. The Tok'ra have been infiltrating the Goa'uld for hundreds of years, we possess information on their resources, troops, ships, strategic sites, planets they use for the construction of their ships and so on. However, this information cannot be shared at random, for the lives of many of our people depend on it," he explained.
Maybourne nodded as he stopped gritting his teeth, so Samantha understood that he had already seen something valuable in the Tok'ra. Daniel saw it too, and yielded the floor to Maybourne, with a nod of his head.
-I understand the value of this information, and I understand that you intend only to put it on the table if we both benefit from it. However, I hope you understand, we cannot give up strategic technology on those terms. That is why I propose a deal where we both benefit from this particular exchange. We give you the artifact, and you make some copies for us," Maybourne offered. The Tok'ra leader hesitated slightly. If this is productive for us, we have some other technologies that our allies gave us that might be useful to you," Maybourne said, raising her hand to her forearm….
Samantha was stunned. Maybourne now looked exactly like the Tok'ra leader.
-Sir, this is it, we need to have a serious talk with our allies about giving technology out of horror movies to unscrupulous people," Colonel O'Neill complained.
Samantha Carter agreed wholeheartedly with that comment, and from now on, she could no longer look at the people around her that she knew without wondering which of them might be an NID agent. General Hammond did not respond for a couple of seconds, even he understood the implications of such technologies in the hands of the NID.
-These technologies may give us an advantage in our fight against the Goa'uld, but we must speak with our council, before formalizing any agreements. We must also bring Jolinar to our base….
…
The meeting went no further, but from the gleam in Maybourne's eyes, it seemed he was pleased with how things turned out. However, before he left to report everything to his bosses, he not-so-subtly urged them to keep their mouths shut, if they didn't want to end up in a dark room.
…
Korr woke up in a bed in one of his rooms in the imperial palace of his capital world. Beside him were two beautiful beauties, and on either side of the bed were four others who would help him get ready when he got up.
While he was being given a bath in a tub of warm water, Korr read some reports that came to him from earth. First of all, twelfth generation computers were already starting to come out, which meant that the game he had invested almost a year in could now be released, eight years earlier than its original version on another world. Korr nodded in satisfaction and followed up with other reports.
The maids couldn't see what he was doing, because these reports were part of a telepathic network and they had to have that ability to log in. Besides, it was encrypted.
Korr moved on to the reports on the SGC, who had not asked for his help in some time. Since their alliance with the Tok'ra, and thanks to the Goa'uld being too busy to bother them, things on Earth were peaceful, and they only had to worry about their adventures exploring new worlds.
SG-1 had already encountered Linea, the Destroyer of Worlds. That was a random mission, and Korr as always, had no idea of the direction they would meet her, but as always everything that came to the SGC would be in her goa'uld clutches, and Linea was no exception.
Linea had arrived at the SGC, successfully infiltrating by using the helpless and innocent old woman tactic, but after stealing a great deal of information at the SGC, and dialing the portal to escape with a sneer on her face, to leave for another planet, she encountered 02, who returning the same smile, reached into her head, and copied all her memories in a few seconds. He then brought her to the Leviathan and she was now in her cargo hold. Korr smiled and looked up the downloaded information.
The technology that Linea had, had no comparison to what he possessed, it was far below, but Korr didn't want the technology, he wanted the knowledge in biology, genetics, biophysics and molecular engineering, that this woman possessed, and that he would have to research on his own if he wanted to obtain it in the normal way. As always, for him it was better to steal than to get to work.
After Linea's mission, which brought him great benefits, Korr had struck a double blow, because SG-1 arrived on a planet, where its inhabitants lived in a virtual reality, and when 02 studied its database he found hundreds of years of data on simulations, a treasure that Korr valued even more than Linea's knowledge, because he already possessed the wraith technology.
On the next mission SG-1 met Thor, when Herur-ur had the brilliant idea to attack Cimmeria, a world protected by the Asgard.
Korr was already aware of this, because Yu had spent a whole day snarling because the Asgard had not only retaliated against Herur-ur, destroying a couple of his Ha'tak, but had threatened the rest of the system overlords. Korr knew he was bluffing, but the rest of the system lords did not, and they spent an entire afternoon yelling at Herur-ur, and threatening to expel him and send a fleet to teach him a lesson.
If Herur-ur did not have in his hands a large fleet that he inherited from Ra, this would have been the end of him as system lord, because the goa'uld who dared to go against the Asgard treaty were punished by the system lords themselves, and they imposed brutal punishments. Things went so far that each system lord and his vassals were obliged to show the portal addresses to their Jaffa, so that they would not even think of stepping on the Asgard-protected planets in their territory. Korr only had two of these planets in his territory, but he did not plan to leave them there when he formed his empire, he would repatriate their inhabitants when he could negotiate with the Asgard.
The next missions of SG-1 were like those of Cimmeria and brought no benefit to him.
An otherworldly sphere, inhabited by intelligent microorganisms, and the reappearance of Apophis, who tried to gain the respect he had lost by destroying Earth and killing Teal'c, using his son Rya'c to destroy the SGC, but Teal'c recognized that his son was acting strangely, and his plans failed.
The next mission had no benefits, but great significance for him, because Dr. Daniel Jackson recovered his wife when he found her when he returned to Abydos to account to his father-in-law for not finding her. 00 extracted the queen from Apophis and sent her to the cargo hold of the Leviathan. Share was taken to Earth to live with Daniel and flee Apophis.
Korr had no problem with this, because 00 contacted Apophis on his behalf to tell him that his queen was now in his hands and that he demanded service in exchange for returning her. Apophis merely cut off communication, and that was as far as things would go with the disgraced goa'uld lord.
The problem in this matter was not Apophis, it was Dr. Daniel Jackson. Korr wondered if this event would prevent Daniel from ascending and how that would change the story he knew. But since they had the sarcophagus, it was already difficult for Daniel Jackson to ascend and that was something that caused him some headache, because if Daniel didn't ascend, the Abydonians wouldn't ascend either, and that was one less power in the galaxy to protect his Goa'uld ass from unscrupulous, slavering ascended ones from other galaxies.
That was serious. He had to think of a way to correct that problem, the best way to do that was for Daniel to have no choice but to ascend. It wasn't that he wanted the story to go on, because he didn't care about that, it was that hundreds of other people couldn't be promoted if Daniel didn't?
What if they didn't get promoted? If the Ori were the problem, why not kill them by creating the weapon Merlin tried to create? The problem with that was that the ascended would not take kindly to him doing research on how to kill them. They would not trust a Goa'uld to hold such knowledge. How could he keep his research from them? He did not know. Merlin almost died running from Morgana, and he already knew many tricks because he was an ascended before.
Korr shrugged in his mind, he would think of something, there were still several years before the Ori arrived. Besides, he could always delay their arrival if he wasn't ready. He would just have to keep an eye on things on Earth, maybe he should get the things Merlin left behind for safety, to make sure he got his hands on the trigger for the Ori's appearance, and only bring it up, when he was ready for their arrival.
The Ori were a galactic class danger and he could not let them loose, for these ascended ones surpassed him in technology and it would not be an easy battle if he faced them, though their forces were deadly, which he could overcome because his armies did not depend on his beliefs, and those of the Ori did.
The central problem was the Ori. He could not kill them using weapons and the Ascended would do nothing with them either, even if Korr took away the worship of humans that gave them their power. His only option was to commit genocide to save his skin. Korr shook his head inwardly. He decided to wait.
…
Korr closed his reports and enjoyed his bath, a relaxing massage and a hearty breakfast. Then he transported himself to his throne and the servants for that shift, went into work mode.
Korr surveyed the situation in the throne room, for someone was looking accusingly at him with a frown. It was a tall woman, six feet tall, with waist-length black hair and a goddess-like body. She looked at the children.
-Does hurting these helpless creatures give you pleasure? -she asked with a tone of disappointment.
Korr grimaced. These guys didn't understand anything. They didn't understand style, or bearing, or even power. Fun slid down their faces and entertainment was a distant concept. Their lives were empty, they lived for the sake of living.
-Creatures? They are my servants. Some of them were sent here by their parents, who consider it a privilege to serve me. All of them are here of their own free will. Some were adopted by me, as they had no parents or relatives. Tell me, Egeria, how is it that I harm them? -Korr asked, shaking his head. It bothered him that she misunderstood the purpose of his beautiful collection of servants. Also that she called humans creatures.
The Tok'ra did not think highly of humans who did not possess advanced technology and, in her eyes, all they were good for was to be hosts. Egeria withdrew her scowl and her accusing gaze.
-I heard you were named system lord," she said in a neutral tone. That had been several months ago. Korr had also given her a host to entice her to negotiate with him, but this woman ignored him and barely showed her face now.
-Yes, thanks to that, the system lords will no longer attack my territory. In return, I have given information to the system lords about a new material, which can be used as an energy source. Although it is true, I recommend that you do not send your children to try to get information about this, because it is an unstable material, and the system lords will pay a huge price for making it work," explained Korr.
On Earth they had not given the Tok'ra information about the ha'taks he gave them, and they did not know about the naquadriah.
-You possess superior technology, you can conquer their territories and destroy their fleets. Why don't you attack? -Egeria asked reproachfully.
-And what happens next? I don't have an administrative system capable of taking care of all their worlds?
-You don't have to replace them, you can let all those people go free," Egeria interrupted. Korr laughed, he, who knew the original story, knew that would be a disaster.
Bands of mercenary Jaffa, thieves and even terrorists. Birth of slaver companies and criminal alliances, whole planets destroyed. It was chaos and no better than what the Goa'uld had now.
-Egeria, I can tolerate others making messes and getting their hands dirty. But I will not get my hands dirty and be the source of chaos, just to play the hero. Besides, the Goa'uld are not the only threat in this galaxy, the Tok'ra are making a mistake by focusing only on them, and trying to destroy them without anything else mattering.
-What will happen to the Jaffa? What will happen to their human slaves who had privileges and held positions of power? And their technology? I remind you that anyone can use it, even build their ships.
"Egeria, did you know that Goa'uld technology was created from other technology that belonged to an ancient species that inhabited the galaxy? They went away, left all their technology lying around and the Goa'uld took it and created a slave empire. What makes you think that destroying them and leaving everything lying around without worrying about their armies and their slaves will have better results? -Korr asked.
Egeria frowned and said nothing. Korr knew it was because she and her idiot children had no plan. The Tok'ra only planned to destroy the Goa'uld, and go scratch their balls on a planet far away from the disaster that would follow. They were irresponsibility personified.
-Do you have an alternative? -Egeria asked.
-The Tau'ri. There are billions of them on your planet, and they are efficient at governing themselves. It's not perfect, but it's better than destroying the Goa'uld empire and leaving everything in chaos. Then there are the Tollan, if you can convince them to get off their smug asses and get their hands dirty.
"The Nox are a basket case in my opinion, but you can take a shot at them too. Then there are all those species that freed themselves from the Goa'uld. You can negotiate with them and make them see the opportunities in this, and the danger of standing by and doing nothing.
"I am willing to cooperate, but I am not willing to pledge all my resources, my life and those who follow me in a noble cause, it seems unreasonable to me. I am not a saint, I am not even that good a person, so don't think I will sacrifice my life, and those who serve me, to force them to serve others. I consider that I can give the rest of the galaxy a small amount of my free time and that of those who serve me, but nothing more," Korr explained.
Egeria thought for a few seconds and then advanced towards the throne. The jaffa standing guard looked at her menacingly, but Egeria ignored them. Korr shrugged, whereupon they let her pass. Korr already knew what Egeria was planning, for he had seen Hatot, another goa'uld queen in action.
It looked like he would have to teach this queen a little lesson. Korr was not afraid of her pheromones and so he let her pass. As soon as she tried to use them against him, she would spend a year sleeping in his cargo hold, and any hypocritical Tok'ra who came to claim her for sending his sainted mother to prison, she would put in a pod next to him. The chutzpah of these Tok'ra was too much and Korr now saw that it was a genetic inheritance.
Egeria reached over and even stroked the heads of some of the children who looked at her with narrowed eyes, for they were no fools and had heard the condescending and dismissive tone when Egeria called them creatures.
Korr waited for her to walk up the steps until she reached in front of him, and bent his head to bring her head close to his and spit his pheromone broth at her….
Egeria kissed him on the mouth, and Korr's eyes went wide. This was something he had not expected.
-So your main complaint is that you don't have enough fun. That is, you lack motivation," Egeria said in a whisper, as she sat on his legs, and since he was wearing an Egyptian skirt and little else, she was also wearing a simple, thin dress that even had a short skirt, he could feel her buttocks in all their wonderful glory.
Korr's expression and that of his servants was the same, they were stunned. Korr realized he had ignored something crucial. Men like Colonel O'Neill, needed pheromones spit in their faces to motivate them, but for him, with the presence of a goddess sitting on his lap, it would already have the same effect.
Realizing his mistake, Korr tried to save his dignity as a god by pushing Egeria away, but she saw his intentions and kissed him again, gluing her body to his. When Korr stopped resisting, she turned her face away a few inches to look at him, and her eyes sparkled with satisfaction.
-Have I told you about the Asgard before? -Korr asked desperately. The Asgard are currently fighting a war, but I can put an end to it, so they can take care of the Goa'uld. Korr explained, spilling all the beans, before something terrible could happen to him, like becoming this woman's puppet. "Is this the legendary honey trap," Korr wondered. Egeria's eyes sparkled.
-And if I were to accept your deal, wouldn't I be the one condemning this galaxy to anarchy? Wouldn't that mean that my hands would be dirty instead of yours? -Egeria asked with a sensual smile. I have thought about it, and I agree with you, this needs time and a detailed plan. We need to create alliances and an organization that is strong enough to take care of everything," said Egeria and kissed him again.
"Help," Korr shrieked in his mind, as his hands, out of his control, moved across Egeria's round ass.
-"Creator, there is a leech attached to you, let me help you," said 00 as he grabbed Egeria by the neck and pulled her away from him.
Korr tried to hold her back, but 00 pulled hard and managed to pull her away. Korr gasped, while Egeria seemed surprised by the violence unleashed on her. Surely, like Korr, who didn't think Egeria would throw herself at him, she never imagined that someone would forcibly peel her off of him.
As Egeria groped for 00, who was dragging her off the throne, to release her, and the children booed, Korr took the opportunity to regain his divine bearing, sitting with a straight back and a face of circumstance, but his eyes sparkled several times as he tried to control his excitement.
As he finished descending the steps of the throne, 00 did not let go of Egeria, but let her settle her feet on the floor.
-How dare you! -Egeria shrieked with indignation as her eyes flashed with fury, but 00 did not let go.
-Creator, shall I put her in the hold? -00 asked indifferently. Korr was tempted, but Egeria didn't try to drug him, only to seduce him. That was immoral, but not illegal.
-No, expel her and next time, assign her a Jaffa guard," Korr said, and waved his hand to dismiss Egeria.
-Korr, wait…" A beam of transporter light took Egeria away.
-Creator, there are some minor Goa'uld asking to see you," 00 reported, as if nothing had happened. Korr, who was embarrassed by his lack of control, also pretended that nothing had happened and nodded solemnly, while his eyes glittered.
Ever since he had been made System Lord, there had been a steady stream of lesser Goa'uld whose territories were next to his, coming to offer him vassalage. Korr would inform them of his rules and laws, the conditions they had to follow to serve him and, if they accepted, he would welcome them. In this way he had added dozens of other planets, and took the opportunity to create other cities on other planets, and connect them using the Stargates and a security system that consisted of using his satellites, integrated into the portal system, to register any aggression from the entry points. Korr had already managed to distribute satellites in at least a tenth of the Goa'uld territories, starting from his own world.
These satellites were tasked with investigating whether people entering had evil intentions. If they were planning something bad, the Stargate would shut down. It was a good system, but it was still incomplete. The galaxy was huge and had hundreds of thousands of worlds with portals to which satellites had to be sent to secure the network. Because of this, as a secondary security measure, each Stargate had a security system that would disable the portal in the event of any unidentified call. In addition, each gate had a shield in case all else failed.
Korr took the security of the portals seriously, because the Goa'uld had an unhealthy habit of sending Naquadah bombs to worlds that offended them or posed resistance to their attempts at conquest.
For those portals, like the one in the capital, that had a continuous transit of people, they were a target, so this one was always protected by an Atlantean shield, powered by an energy source based on the Arthur Project, so the Goa'uld could get tired of sending bombs and not even scratch it.
-My god, the lesser god Gatahk," Jet introduced, escorting the newcomer, a Goa'uld whose host was a middle-aged man of disheveled appearance.
-Great god, I serve the System Lord Morrigan, and she has a proposal, to exchange Naquadah for hosts of your creation," the goa'uld explained.
-"The hosts I create are something exclusive to my servants and vassals," said Korr, raising his hand, so that Jet would not kick the goa'uld. A beam of transporter light carried the goa'uld away.
Korr thought as Jet gave orders to bring the other goa'uld through.
Morrigan was a little known System Lord in the original story, but she was the cunning and treacherous type just like Baal. She had hidden that she was a queen, all the while amassing power by stabbing backstabbing those she served and those who were her allies. She was not a Goa'uld who engaged others in battle, though her accomplishments were no lesser in this matter, for she was a great strategist.
Korr wondered what Morrigan was up to by sending one of her servants to deal with him. It was a blatant insult, for he too was a System Lord, and sending someone to deal with him meant she was looking down her nose at him. Another System Lord would have sent his envoy back to him in pieces, or if he was generous, beat him up to prove his superiority.
Korr resented these kinds of games, but he supposed Morrigan wanted to test his character and personality. If so, Korr didn't mind her calling him weak for refusing to be ruthless. If any System Lord thought he could use dark strategies against her, he would send one of his enhanced replicators directly to her capital world, without spending time on battles, because he truly detested these kinds of strategies.
…
After a minute, Jet moved on to the next goa'uld, who had charge of a planet and ten thousand human slaves, as well as an al'kesh and five hundred jaffa. He wanted to swear vassalage in exchange for a host, the sale of fuel for his ship, assistance with repairs, and the sale of parts. Korr gave him his terms, which included the building of a city, his joining the trade network he was creating with the Stargate, the freedom of his slaves, and the implementation of his laws for his territory.
It was a full-fledged annexation, except that the Goa'uld would retain their own Jaffa, provided they wished to continue to serve them.
As the jaffa were known for their loyalty, it was unlikely that they would stop serving him, what they had done in these situations was to move their families to the jaffa world. The jaffa viewed ordinary humans as weak and did not like to mix with them.

In the night, Korr was awakened by an alarm, and as he opened his eyes, some reports were shared with him directly by the hive mind he maintained with the enhanced replicators. The reports indicated that about four hours ago, a multitude of Asgard probes covered their territory and scanned everything thoroughly. 02 did not wake him up, because they already expected this.
What they did not expect was that the Asgard would send an Asgard battlecruiser after their scans and that was why 02 had woken him. Korr frowned, as he disappeared and reappeared on the bridge of the Leviathan, as he appeared, he was already wearing his full god regalia, with the circular breastplate, the Egyptian skirt decorated with a belt, sandals, bracelets and crown with a golden scorpion design. Next to him materialized 02, who was wearing a similar silver-colored garment.
-Father, do you think they have detected any replicators? -02 asked, as the Leviathan entered hyperspace and headed towards the Asgard ship.
-If so, we would have an Asgard fleet here, this is something else," said Korr and thought for a few seconds.
A minute later, Korr remembered something, and the arrival of the Asgard ship became clear to him.
-The Asgard are concerned about our fleet and the number of ships in it. Besides, the shipyard can build over a hundred ha'tak a year. In about a hundred years I would have a fleet of over twelve thousand ships, and the Asgard would not be able to control me at all," Korr explained.
Korr had been thinking of the short time, but the Goa'uld live for thousands of years, and the Asgard take this into account when doing the math. Therefore, their automated shipyard of ha'taks must have left them very alarmed and posed a serious threat to them. It would also be a concern to them if Korr conquered Goa'uld territory.
"Looks like we're going to have some problems," said Korr, sharing his conclusions about why that Asgard ship was there.
"Father, this problem doesn't seem to have a short-term solution. Perhaps we should advance our contact with the Asgard," said 02. Korr shook his head.
-I don't like to negotiate knowing that I would be throwing away an opportunity for these guys to owe me a favor in the future. If I give them the anti-replicator weapon now, it won't have the same effect if I give it to them when they see danger in the face.
"On the other hand, they won't want us on Earth, because under present conditions, they won't trust us and they will certainly warn Earth who our ally is. And right now, every Goa'uld is a threat to them. Their perspective is not enough and we have not done them that many favors, so our alliance is not a trusting relationship," Korr explained.
-Then we receive this ship, as would another system lord," said 02.
-No, that would be a direct threat, and the Asgard would respond with force. Let us simply act as ourselves, that will give us time to reach the appropriate moment to negotiate. The Asgard will take us as a threat right now, but not one they will have to deal with for years to come," said Korr.
02 ran some simulations and nodded in agreement, as the Leviathan dropped out of hyperspace, a few thousand kilometers away, out of weapons range of the Asgard cruiser, which appeared in his view, as his ship had it on its sensors.
The asgard ship was a Beliskner Class. This ship did not yet have a particle beam, so it was not a threat to the Leviathan. However, Korr did not plan to reveal his technology, so he kept up appearances.
Korr opened communications:
-Asgard ship, I am Korr, lord of the Goa'uld system and ruler of these territories. What do the Asgard seek here and why have they sent their satellites to spy? This is not in accordance with our treaty," Korr warned.
The Asgard ship received his communication, and a second later, they sent a reply in the form of a video communication, which Korr accepted. On the screen, an asgard was shown sitting on a throne, who watched the image Korr sent in response, showing his own throne and bridge design, which was similar to theirs, with a wide clear space, although the decoration was goa'uld, with a predominance of golden color. The jaffa were not present.
-Goa'uld, I am Thor, supreme commander of the Asgard fleet. How did you obtain the technology to locate our satellites and ships? -Thor asked bluntly.
-I am a supreme being, I possess all knowledge," said Korr. Now explain what has brought you to my territory in direct violation of our treaty," demanded Korr.
-There has been an attack on one of our protected planets. This is just an inspection of the planets in your territory, to make sure that similar things do not happen there again," lied Thor without even blinking.
-Asgard, you are lying through your teeth," Korr accused. Herur-ur has already been reprimanded, and the lesser Goa'uld have been warned and reminded of the treaty we have. You have no business here.
"Besides, the time when you could move through my territory unseen is over. Don't try that again, because if you have checked my territory, you already know that I have a new energy source that I took from Ra's fall.
"I have also obtained biotechnology that you must have seen in my jaffa. This provides me with eyes beyond your comprehension, so your sneaky technology is useless against me.
"Keep snooping around my territory, and I will make sure all this technology gets into the hands of the other system overlords. Then we will soon be evaluating our treaty with the Asgard," Korr threatened.
-Goa'uld, your threats are futile. We already know that the other Goa'uld do not agree with your form of government. You are only in your position because of your technological superiority. If you give it up, yours will fall upon you," Thor mocked, though he was not smiling.
-The system lords are no threat to me, and in a hundred years I will be the supreme system lord and all will be ruled by me. It does not behoove the Asgard to be my enemies," said Korr changing his threat to a warning of the future. He had already made it clear to Thor that he did not locate his ships for advanced technology, but for something else. Now he had to get it out of his domain for at least a couple more years. Thor thought for a few seconds as he confirmed that a Goa'uld alliance was unlikely.
-Then, Goa'uld, you can mind your own business. As I said before, the Asgard have no business with you. I only check on the safety of the protected worlds," Thor said and cut the communication.
-Father, do you think this means that you don't consider us a direct threat? -02 asked, watching Thor's ship enter hyperspace.
-02, if he were to attack, he would do so at this time, for as far as he knows, the Leviathan cannot stand up to his battlecruiser. The Asgard don't bother with theatrics when they're going to attack. They tell you to your face, so our objective has been achieved.
"However, just because they're not going to attack directly, doesn't mean they won't attack indirectly. In which case, they're not going to tell us. I just hope we have enough time to gain Earth's trust before then, so that in their eyes, we are better allies than the Asgard," said Korr.
If Earth broke its alliance with him, the galaxy would be on his shoulders and that would suck. He would also be expelled from Earth and that would be a disgrace, because his video game company would be out of his reach, not to mention the Internet.
